Savior by Kaya Darke
3.75 ⭐️ on the scale you have to choose 3 & 4
The book was good there were just a couple things that drove me absolutely crazy while reading it. First was Torrin was Irish sometimes it showed his accent and other times it didn’t normally that wouldn’t bother me but for some reason in this it did, the length of the book might have something to do with that. Second their fights, half of it didn’t make sense or it would say the fight ended and then two paragraphs later it started again, and their fights were just repeating themselves over and over.
Now that I laid all that out, I did love the book I loved the plot of the book and the romance part of it. The spice scenes were perfection! I love the mystery of it, that you need to keep reading to figure out what happens in the end!
The fact that this ended on a cliff hanger has me itching to read the next book to figure out what happens next! I need to know!

The start to the Violent Delights series so hang on and double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Torrin sexy as all get out part of the Irish Mafia with a reputation proceeding him, ruthless when needed, deadly every day, and do not like Moretti family in any shape, form, or fashion. Aria is a feisty sweetheart related to the Moretti family who strongly dislikes the Walker family, wanting to walk away from the family she has known being caught in the middle is getting old so escaping seems to be her choice. But escaping landed her right into the arms of the sexy as all get out Torrin and they say there is a thin line between love and hate then two make a believer out of you the magnetic pull can’t be ignored the harder they try the stronger the pull but where are they headed and why do we have to wait to find out ☹?

Let me say this first - Torrin in YUMMY!! How this author described him, left my mouth watering. I loved his character and how fiercely he loved Aria. I think I may have fallen for him even quicker then she did lol.
This book is full of twists and turns and the story is well detailed. It kept me entranced and in fact, prior to even writing this review, I had to sink into the second half of the story. It’s a medium dark read, so please check the TWs but I can’t recommend it enough!

Aria caught his eye while bartending at one of his establishments after escaping the system as a teen. Carmine took Aria under his wing, using her to further his business ventures within New York and beyond. Sadly, she becomes well-known as the Moretti whore. Aria is trying her hardest to get herself out from under Carmine by saving up money on her modeling jobs and photoshoots. Unfortunately, until she can save up enough money and leave New York for good, she's still Carmine's number one woman for his business ventures. One night, while visiting with Carmine at his request, she meets Torrin Walker, mob boss of the Irish mob, the Walker clan out of Belfast. Carmine is using Torrin's expertise in chemistry to his advantage, but he believes there's more under Torrin's exterior, convincing Aria that he will allow her to escape his hold if she can find out what Torrin's hiding...and give him the information that can lead to Torrin's demise.

Torrin's motives are purely personal, as he knows that the Moretti family is the reason for his father's untimely downfall and death that have put Torrin as the head of the family prematurely, with his brother, Liam, as his right hand man. He is looking to take over Moretti's territory and be the end of the Moretti empire. In the process, he meets Aria King, Moretti's high class whore. Torrin is intrigued by her beauty, her fierce personality, her courage, and her brashness. Torrin is interested in using Aria to get to Carmine Moretti...knowing something is brewing when Aria accepts Torrin's offer to leave the club with Torrin not even hours after meeting him.
Aria and Torrin's story is a love story for the ages. It's everything you don't want but are dying to have in a real life relationship. Savior screams morally grey book boyfriend. There's toxicity. There's chaos. There's dominance. There's jealousy. There's possessiveness. There's love. There's heartbreak. There's deceiving. There's vengeance. There's betrayal. There's spice. When I say spice, I mean that it is spicy times 10. Aria and Torrin aren't holding anything back in the bedroom. They're a raging inferno with one another inside and outside the bedroom. I do not have triggers, BUT I will say there are scenes in this book that made me BLUSH. With triggers being mentioned, please, make sure you read the trigger warnings prior to beginning the book because there are scenes and events in this story that can be trigger to some. With that being said, those scenes - SA, unaliving, dubcon - are written very well in regards to the tropes and respectfully in regards to the nature of the matter. Kaya Darke approaches sensitive subjects respectfully for her readers and with concern to her readers' mental health. Once you finish Savior, you'll want to jump directly into reading Exile because there's no denying you want a happily ever after for Aria and Torrin, but that isn't happening in Savior. Their story is too much of an emotional rollercoaster to contain in one book. Trust me, it's worth continuing their story in Exile. It will continue you in all your feels and bring you the happiness that Savior will steal from you at it's end.

Savior is Book 1 of the Violent Delights Series. This is a Dark Mafia Romance about Torrin Walker and Aria King. Aria King happens to be a beautiful, popular model who has been involved with Carmine Moretti and the Moretti Crime Family for several years. Aria used to be Carmine's girl and thought she loved him, until she got tired of the lies and cheating. Aria wants out and away from the Moretti Family for her own good. Torrin Walker is in the leader of the Irish Mafia Family. He wants himself and his younger brother Liam to start working with Carmine, so they can destroy the Moretti's. While Torrin and Liam are at Carmine's country club, they meet Aria. Torrin is so taken with Aria that Carmine even notices. Carmine wants Aria to spy on Torrin to find out his secrets. This book is an amazing story and well written from a talented writer.

Aria ran away from her foster care when she was a teenager. She found her way to NYC and met Carmine when she had turned 18. She went to his establishment looking for a job. She ended up working there and this is where she met Rosie. They became fast friends. Carmine had a thing for Aria so he used her in multiple ways. She was his but he also had her do things to get politicians and other higher ups in compromising positions. This is where Torrin comes in. He is a chemist and Carmine needs his expertise so he and his brother Liam had a meeting with him. This is where he met Aria because Carmine wanted them to meet. He wanted Aria to find out Torrin’s secrets but didn’t tell her why. She found out later. But she ended up falling in love with Torrin and she didn’t give Carmine anything. He was not happy with this. There were some major events happening. But the biggest betrayal was Rosie. She sold Aria out and told her to leave when Torrin needed her the most. She threatened her. Aria was able to leave a note for him but told him not to come find her. I hope he does so she can explain and get her revenge.

I love a good mafia romance. But two mob bosses and an FMC? YES PLEASE.
This book was CHAOTIC.
Carmine Moretti runs the Italian mafia and wants Aria (his ex-girlfriend) to spy on Torrin and see what plans are up his sleeve. Aria wants to be free of the Moretti family and live her life, but she doesn't expect things to be as explosive as it is with Torrin. What happens when everyone has ulterior motives and would love conquer all of the secrets surrounding them?
I loved Torrin as a MMC. He had a mysterious yet possessive vibe about him. It was lust at first sight between Torrin and Aria and led to a rollercoaster ride of a read! I loved Aria as an FMC. She was extremely sassy, knew how to get what she wanted and underneath the sassy shell, she has feelings and so real. The spice was really good. There were so many plot twists, turns I didn't see coming, betrayal, secrets and got a bit intense at points. And it did end in a cliffhanger. I definitely would continue reading to see what happens next in the series!

Torrin has his own agenda, and it involves using Aria's connections to his advantage. As the New York and Irish mafia clash, Aria finds herself choosing a side, but as secrets are revealed, did she choose the right one?
Aria was not an enjoyable character. She's pulled in two directions the entire story and can never seem to stick with a decision. Both her mafia lovers give her tasks, and she is basically the reason behind an all-out clan clash. Torrin was hot and cold, but also rough and demanding. He internally decides he loves Aria in chapter 18, but then, in chapter 31, he has a huge fight with her over his inability to love her, only to come to his senses in chapter 35. Their constant back and forth fighting made me want to send them to couples therapy. I think they are toxic as a couple, and I shudder to think of the fate of others with them in control of the clan.

This is the 1st book in the Violent Delights series featuring Torrin and Aria's poignant love story. From the moment that Torrin saw Aria he was a goner he fell hard and fast for her but he doesn't believe in love. Aria is hitting the peak of her modeling career but she wants out from under the Moretti family's control. Aria's been one of the family women for years and she wants out falling for Torrin the leader of a notorious Irish crime family is so much worse and not part of the plan. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this poignant love story that does end on a cliffhanger to see what happens. This is a new to me author and I'm looking forward to seeing where the story goes from here.

Savior is book 1 in the Violent Delights Duet by Kaya Darke. She is a new author to me but I am a dark mafia romance. Torrin Walker & Aria King both come from a mafia family. I am unsure about their relationship. At times it feels so toxic while other times, they are just what the other needs.
The world is violent but it drew me in. I got into these characters. They are well written and the action kept my attention. Beware there are a little of potential triggers. This book is part one of a duet, so I am awaiting book 2. The author has my emotions up and down reading this and I can't wait to see where book 2 takes me to wrap this cliffhanger up.

Savior is book 1 in the Violent Delights duet and is Torrin and Arias story. Torrin is a Walker Family member. The Irish Mafia. Aria King is somehow affiliated with Carmine Moretti, a thorn in the sides of the Walker Family. It doesn't matter though. Aria has gotten under Torrins skin in a huge way and in the end it's hard saying which one is really the Savior. Their journey is heartbreaking and tumultuous. They just can't seem to get it together for very long and I felt compelled to hope for them to be together. The ending, to me, could have been taken a couple of ways, but for myself I'm hoping it's just segue into the next phase of their journey.

Savior by Kaya Drake is a book with good bones but needed an editor or someone to point out where the story felt repetitive and where it was unrealistic, even for a work of fiction (the part with Carmine and the doctor in Torrin's hospital room is one such place that comes to mind). The characters, especially Aria, are inconsistent in their actions and words, which makes for a frustrating read. It is almost as though Aria forgets the life that she has signed up for.
This was a first read of this author for me. While I would not read the second book to this series (it ends on a cliffhanger), I would try this author's other works.

An Emotional Rollercoaster of a Story…
This is the first time I’ve read anything by this author and she did not disappoint. She certainly knows her way around a storyline and developing intriguing and complex characters and Torin and Aria are a great example. This is the first time I’ve read anything by this author and she did not disappoint. She certainly knows her way around a storyline and developing intriguing and complex characters and Torin and Aria are a great example. The author takes the couple on a wild ride and it comes with a cost that does not lead to an HEA…just more pain and opportunity.

This was my first book by Kaya Darke. This book features Aria who has been Carmine Moretti’s girl/toy for years now. Her job has been to do whatever was asked of her. Se is finally gaining her independence from the Moretti family by getting her own place. Now Torrin wants to work with the Moretti family so he can destroy them. He sees Aria and he is completely smitten but he doesn’t believe in love. Can these two work together to destroy the Moretti family? Can their feelings overcome all the issues they face? Will the endless lies destroy whatever chance they had? This book had drama, action, violence and spice.

Wow, this book was absolutely awesome to read, the story was written well and the characters were sensational. This story was about Aria and Torrin, these two both understand each other's past experiences but they know they have these feelings, he possessive, ruthless brute and very dominant and the romance is pretty hot. She wants to get away from a family while she is in his arms. I can't wait for the next book.

Though this was a bit of an uneven read at times, Torrin and Aria's story was a page-turner from start to cliffhanger. Aria has been used her entire life by those who should have protected her and all she wants is out and peace. But at what cost? Torrin, the head of the Irish mafia, sees her and wants her for himself. The book is full of sizzle, steam, action, drama, twists, turns, and more. I'm ready for book 2 and more about Torrin & Aria.

OMG Totally five stars for this book!!! The MMC in this story Torrin is a total Dom daddy, and he's Irish to boot. For those who don't like reading "accents" in stories this might not be for you because it does reflect.in the spelling of words and use of actual Irish in text. It wasn't a problem.for me because I've always loved Irish which is what attracted me to the story anyway. LOVED Aria and her relationship with Torrin, its very dark and so enticing to read. Thought The story was extremely exciting and was very hard to put down!

What a good book. The story line is interesting and keeps you reading more and more to see what happens at the end. This is my first book by this author, and I didn't know what to expect, but she didn't disappoint me that's for sure. I liked that the book was in 3 parts. I will prepare you though if you don't like violence and death in your books this might not be for you.

This book was a challenge, easy to read but deeply rough with its themes. Each word written with charm, the green velvet of Ireland beneath the surface, the big towers of Manhattan oh the other side.
Most important the twisted plot, obsession or love, mafia or ordinary life, truth or dare.
Aria impossible to catch like an angelic mistress fallen for a magnificent devil like Torrin.
What else to say? Must read it.

I. Freaking. Love. This. Book. I couldn’t put it down. It has everything you would want in a book. Aria and Torrin are the absolute best finding love in a world where you wouldn’t expect it. Ms Darke did her thing when it came to putting emotions on paper it really grabbed my attention to where i couldn’t put the book down. It made me smile and cry my eyes out but i wouldn’t have it any other way. Can’t wait to read book 2 i know it will be just as amazing as this one 🥰🥰🥰

So as dark mafia romances go I enjoyed this one. There were times when the characters were a little annoying because a simple conversation would save you lots of heartache and grief but then we wouldn't have nearly as much action. I look forward to reading the rest of the story and seeing how things play out. I think if this one makes it to audio it'll be great I am not good with accents in my head when I read so listening makes it more realistic.

This story was so good, I enjoyed the torment between the two main characters, I really like that this is a series and look forward to seeing the characters in later books. Torrin and Aria are doing their best to be together and it just isn't happening I wanted them to succeed and I enjoyed the ending also.

This was my first book by this author, and I was absolutely blown away! I could not put it down. From start to finish, it was filled with twists and turns. So much so I couldn't put it down. In fear, I'd miss something. The relationship between Aria and Torrin is breathtakingly beautiful 🥵😍 and the villain ughhhh I wanna pu+ch him 🙄 I can not wait to read book #2!!!!!

I was captivated by feisty yet sweet Aria Moretti and ruthless but handsome Torrin Walkers story. I can’t wait to see how their story continues.
