How far are you willing to go for man’s best friend? Plunge into the shadowy world of vigilante justice in this action-packed mystery thriller, where Emma Rose, former Special Forces Operator, takes on a mission of vengeance. When Raptor, an abused fighting dog, is brought into the local humane society nearly dead, I am ready to pursue justice. I know that if I don’t do something, Raptor’s abusers are going to get away with this. Now, I’m secretly on the case. Sure, I may seem like a harmless intake clerk, a plain Jane going about her ordinary life. But I’ve got a hidden past with my own dark secrets. Where justice can't reach, I bring vengeance, especially against anyone who mistreats or abuses those without a voice. Who is actually going to see justice done to the cruel, moneygrubbing men who abused Raptor? Not Detective Erik Novak. He seems like a nice guy—easy on the eyes, dedicated to his job... But that’s the problem. It’s just a job for him. Another file to get off his desk. He might be one of the good guys, but he isn’t ready to put it all on the line for Raptor and his fellow victims. Battling my own dark memories and secrets, I am ready to do whatever it takes. There are others like Raptor, other dogs less lucky, and it’s time I put an end to the abuse.

The satisfaction of punishing those vilkains right when they were about to start the dog fights, and thus, potentially giving Emma amd her colleagues from the humame society more hurt dogs to treat, the satisfaction I say is undeniable.
Just wondering if the end, with one of the villains turning to be not dead, but badly hurt by the bullet Emma put into him, is just the turning point for a continuation...

A vigilante assassin who works for the Humane Society? You’ve got to give this author credit for originality! So… there’s a dog-fighting ring that’s slaughtering animals and someone (not the cops) intends to put a stop to it… Some more character development would’ve been nice and the storyline has some gaps, …but overall, it’s just entertaining and a good change of pace.

“Like Dexter (one of my fav shows) but avenging abused animals instead of humans.”

This is the story of a well-intentioned “anti-villain” who has good intentions, but her methods for achieving these goals are a bit psychotic. She does make some morally questionable/evil decisions for the good of animals- which I am in agreement with her- so therefore I found myself rooting for her to get the job done.
Being a true advocate for animals myself, I could relate to the main character’s own sense of anger towards people who abuse helpless dogs for their own entertainment. The vigilante this author created believes anyone who commits animal abuse should pay for what they have done. She has super skills that make her capable of easily taking out her targets.
I would have liked a bit more detail in this story. I wanted to know more about the main character’s background. I did enjoy this story.

Silent But Deadly: A Vigilante Justice Thriller, my first read from author C.W. Atlas. A 79-page animal abuse thriller from an author who has walked the walk, not just talked the talk, rescuing, fostering, and rehabilitating over 50 animals in need. ” I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author and Stealth Vengeance: A Vigilante’s Mission Against Animal Cruelty Exposes a Darker Side is next on mt TBR list. Marley herself was a rescue ans the best dog I've ownes. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Illegal dog fighting. Emma Rose is a vigilante that sets out to stop the illegal do fighting.
I would have liked more background on Emma Rose. She pretends to be this mild, meeky young woman but in reality she is as tough as nails. Where did she train to be soldier with, etc.
I felt like there wasn't an ending to the book, with no mention that the book continues in book 2.
Overall, what was in the book was a very good story. Just wished that we got more info about the dogs and what happens to them. Did the book contain enough for me to read book 2, you betcha!

Cruelty of the heart

After I read this book, I wasn't aware there were others in this series that evolved the main character Emma.
I was quite taken aback reading this book as I didn't know it was so intense and straight forward on animal cruelty.
It was a good thing Emma did in trying to eradicate something that has been going on in our country and abroad for centuries.
However, you have to start somewhere and locally is a great place to start.
There should be more caring people like Emma in the world.

Gritty and intense! Complex and compelling! An edgy mystery full pulse-pounding suspense, damning secrets and one shocking surprise after another! The fast pace of the of the twisted, wildly-captivating plot kept me swiping the pages feverishly long past my bedtime.

*I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.

Silent but deadly indeed as what we presume to be a meek and mild administrator hunts down the monsters who take animal cruelty to a whole new level. The story is good, but I really do wish it had more detail to it. It could make for a better-read. With that said, I will be looking for more from this author. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A badly abused dog has just arrived at her shelter and she intends to get justice for them. She may seem a plain Jane but she has secrets and she will get justice. He will appear but she knows he will not take justice as far as she will. Who hurt the dog? Can she get the revenge she is after? See how it will all go

This story will stir up a lot of conflicting emotions as it deals with animal cruelty, and vigilante justice for the abused. No matter where you stand on the issues, your thoughts will revisit the story.

I can not believe that people could be so cruel. This story only shows the wrong side of society and people.
The need and want for justice is needed but at what cost too the agent of justice?
Great read for a bad situation.

Wonderful read about a person who decides to end the big group of elites running a dog fighting ring. Working at the locale humane society they’ve seen too many dogs come in that have been used as bait dogs and witnessed their mutilation. Most don’t survive. It’s time to give them retribution.

If you’re old enough to remember “Billy Jack” and you enjoyed it, then you will enjoy this vigilante who takes on a group of dog fighters and gets vengeance for those who can’t speak for themselves.
