Tinzel (Holidate with an Alien #6)

The snow rages outside, but this alien is giving off nothing but heat...

Belle

I might be a prisoner on an alien planet, but I’ve made the best of it. I have furry friends, a fortress to clean, and food. But when my captors leave us with only a few guards during a snowstorm, strange figures breach our walls. In my terror, I wonder which is worse—the evil I know, or the evil I don’t know?

Tinzel

The human is beautiful, fierce, and spitting mad. I have to gain her trust or I’m never getting home. But a few enemies are still running loose, and they’d like nothing more than to ruin my life by hurting Belle. I’ve never given up a fight, and I’ll win this battle… and make Belle mine.

Tinzel is a standalone romance in the Outcasts of Corin series. Expect a gruff alien, a woman who just wants to feel human, and lots of furry friends.

I guess I’m in my alien holiday era! Except as I write this I realize I don’t think there’s anything holiday about this except a snowy climate?

The beginning was SO promising to me. I really liked where it was heading but unfortunately it then felt way too rushed!

I expect instalove to a degree in these books, but I feel like every angsty or dangerous moment is resolved in a few pages which didn’t leave a huge emotional payoff.

I also don’t usually pay much attention to mistakes in a book, but I noticed spelling errors and things like that a few times.

But I really liked the loris aliens, Tinzel was cute, and if you just want a quick alien read, you may like it!

'¿Te olvidarás de mí?'
Esa respuesta era fácil. 'Nunca. Estarás en mi mente en cada rotación, y si Fatas lo permite, serás mi último pensamiento el día de mi muerte.'

Tinzel de Ella Maven Serie Holidate with an Alien libro 6

Argumento:

Belle

Nunca he renunciado a luchar y ganaré esta batalla... y haré mía a Bella.

Links of fate

This book was a great return to the holiday season! The characters were well written with their individual hardships and instant connection, and the story fit perfectly with the overarching series storyline. I enjoyed the Loris and how they were strong when they needed to be without losing their gentle nature. Their return to the village added another dimension to the story. I especially enjoyed the last minute twist when I thought the HEA had been taken away, but the author came through with a hero and this happy couple discovered their true fate before the end.

A Great Author Who is Happy with Her Typos

I recommend reading this book after book 7 because this story really is a conclusion to the series.
This author writes great stories, but she really needs an editor. Maybe her editor is a friend, but free is not a good enough excuse to put out a crap product. I'm glad that I don't pay outright for these books in KU. I would be very angry paying good money for a hard copy full of typos.

This is a short but sweet and steamy holiday romance but with too many typos. Belle, a human kidnapped by aliens years ago, is currently being held prisoner by the evil Joktals who don't treat her and the Loris well at all. Then Tinzel and his men come to destroy the Joktal and they also save Belle and her friends. As they all travel back to their homes and a safe place, Belle and Tinzel become better acquainted. Belle and the Loris all have a happy ending.

Loved how it tied up many loose ends but the error rate was distracting.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW*****

I quite enjoyed the storyline and how it tied up quite a few loose ends from the overarching Outcasts of Corin storyline.

A very much got into the MMC/FMC's budding relationship dynamic. I liked how Belle knew her own mind and didn't have any OOC irrationality despite all her prior trauma and negative experiences.

While Belle had every reason to distrust the invasion force of Drix, a species she'd never met nor heard of before, her internal monologues helped her realize that any continuing hostility toward the Drix was not only pointless, it made no sense. Her rationality was a breath of fresh air compared to so many of the human women before her that in a way, I'm disappointed that Tinzel and Belle's story was a mere 75 pages long.
It's heavily (and dissapointingly) padded out to almost 100 pages, which is annoying at best when you're hoping for a real novella and not a short story.

The editing in this story was ATROCIOUS. Dozens of times in the space of 75 pages where their were typos, spelling mistakes, word omissions, and even times where the wrong word was used in place of another. And most incomprehensible if all, times when the title character's NAME WAS MISSPELLED.

Maybe it's silly of me to point out these things but the error rate in this story was so high and so unchracteristic of an Ella Maven work that it surprised me.

The Drixonians are in my top 3 favorite of alien romance serials and that is saying something. The only reason why I gave this story 3 stars is the crap editing and the bait-and-switch padding. I mean the story ends and marked myself as "read" and I had only reached 78%!!!

That said, I'm happy to say that you wrote out the beauty and the beast homage so well that I easily picked up on it even before Belle mentioned it in-story.

Just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do some more editing!

- Alien abduction (not on page)
- Sold into slavery/servitude (not to the MMC)
- Scarred FMC
- Rescued
- Fall hard and fast
- Cute alien sidekicks, sorta

It's been a long time since Belle was stolen from earth and shipped across the universe to another galaxy to be a slave for whoever was the latest highest bidder. The latest might be the best she has had to deal with, which isn't saying much, but at least she isn't chained up all day. It's her job, along side her cute multi-eyed alien friends the loris' (also stolen) to do domestic chores for a band of terrifying red aliens. At least until Tinzel and his people come to rescue them.

This story is completely different from the whole rest of the series, first off. I would not call it a "Holidate" by any stretch of the imagination. There is not holiday outside Belle saying "It feels like Christmas" once and it taking place in deep snow. Did it take away from my enjoyment of the story? Absolutely not. But it is not a Holidate.

This is the shortest book in the series as well, but it's definitely not lacking in story or romance. It's fast-paced and sweet. It was a fun and sexy read, with cute little alien friends and sexy alien mate. It's sort it teases the universe the author writes in which makes me want to read more.

Belle, despite her name, did not give me the beauty and the beast retelling I was secretly hoping for but I am not disappointed. She is strong when she needs to be and lets herself feel when she finally gets the chance to. There is a point where she literally sinks to the ground because a decade worth of servitude is lifted and she can finally just...let go.

I really kinda loved this book... It was my second foray into alien romance and this one was definitely my kind of thing!

We have big burly warriors raiding an enemy fortress to save enslaved creatures, finding an unexpected human, and trekking through snow to return the enslaved creatures to their home. In the process the human and the alien fall in love - that simple, that complicated, and it was lovely.
It was sweet, steamy, quick to read and thoroughly enjoyable.

The novella is obviously part of a larger world but you don't have to have read any of the other books to understand the aliens or what's going on here as everything you need to know is explained. That said, I'm definitely going to be going back and reading the Drixonian books as if they're anything like the novella I'll be in love!

The synopsis gave me beauty and the beast vibes but the story could only be considered a variation of b&b if you squint really hard and tilt your head sideways... I mention this just in case you're expecting a beauty and the beast retelling!

Also, I rated the book 5 stars based on how I enjoyed the story and how it made me feel. It should be said that the editing of this novella is really poor. Extra/repeat words in sentences, some misspellings etc. I'm good at ignoring the occasional blip but it was more than occasional here which was a shame.

PS - The book is called TINZEL everywhere except from here on Goodreads where it is TINZERL... What's that about?!

A human woman who's being held prisoner in an alien stronghold and is only keeping it together so she can protect the others being held in the fortress as best she can is about to be liberated and...well, Belle's been through a lot. Fortunately for her, the warriors who descend on the fortress are WORLDS apart (not literally) from the ones who had been keeping her captive.

Tinzel and his warriors might be a little rough around the edges, but they're honorable and they're determined to make sure Belle and the others are safe before continuing with their mission. Tinzel might be utterly entranced by the feisty human, but he knows she's been through a lot and she deserves better than a warrior with no family and no prospects.

While that's all well and good, being near Tinzel is the first time Belle's felt safe since her ordeal began years ago. She's willing to see where things go, but she's also free for the first time in a long time and is trying to work her head around that.

Some loathsome alien captors, a handful of little furry friends, a little danger, a warrior who fights his instincts, and a lady who's making the best of a rough situation and who deserves the male who makes her feel safe. *thumbs up*

This book’s title and character's name is Tinzel without the “r” so the above needs correcting.

I don’t think there was any reference to Christmas or any other holiday in this story. Be that as it may, it was a nice tale of rescuing a damsel in distress. The Drixonian aliens were sufficiently creepy having weapons burst out of their bodies when fighting, black fangs, snakeskin and armored tails. And these are the good guys. OTOH, the loris sounded pretty cute aside from having protruding multifaceted eyes.

All of the females of the Drixonian race died during an epidemic brought about by one of their enemies. Tinzel had never had sex but seems to be pretty enthusiastic and even proficient by seemingly instinctively knowing what to do. Oh yeah, he also has a lengthy tongue. Belle, our fmc, becomes enamored and regrets their separation. It doesn’t last long before he returns to the loris village where she had taken refuge and they pair for life. (He had supposedly claimed her earlier so I’m not quite sure why that didn’t create an unbreakable bond)

Tinzel

I love all the Corin/Drixonian books and this one does not disappoint. A sweet little love story set among some snowflakes. One of my favorite things about this author is her consistent awareness of consent. And the topic of consent is super important (everywhere, but especially) in alien abduction romances because the FMCs have been taken from their lives and have every choice taken from them.

As the MFC thinks,

“I was about to dismiss his worry when the reality of his words hit me. He was very worried about my consent. I hadn’t consented to anything that had happened to my body since I left Earth, and now this alien male was concerned about the act of simply sleeping next to each other.”

Even after they have been a little intimate, he doesn't take anything for granted.

“I didn’t want you to think I assumed I could touch you again at my whim.”

Really well done and a great model for real life.

Wow

An interesting Novella set in the Drixonian world. I love it! Ella Maven does an amazing job drawing you into the storyline and never letting you out of it. This series is definitely one for the records. I have now officially read all of the series, spin-offs, and novellas. Each book can be read individually or in order. I read them in order, and all I can say is that I only have 2 complaints. I wanna hear more about Anna from the prelude to the series, and if she plans to have more kids now that she's relatively safe and two, I wish the books were longer. Each book ends in a HEA, and I'm addicted to the series and can't seem to get enough of the characters.

I like this short story about Tenzel and Belle. The snowball fight was cute, and the bunny like creatures sounded cute, too. I'm glad that they got the ending they deserved.

It's a fun little hello to the Drixonian characters we know already and the new ones we meet.

So Sweet

I loved it! A trip back to the planet Corin and my favorite aliens was a dream come true. Belle was an abducted human being held as a slave along with the small furry Loris by the nasty Joktals. Rescued and liberated by a group of strange alien warriors led by Tinzel she is sure what to expect. But the fates had a HEA for Belle and Tinzel and it was wonderful reading about it.

A lovely addition to this series! I relished Belle's whole warrior attitude! I think in time she and the Loris might have escaped on their own. Thankfully, Tinzel and the other Drixoneans come into the picture and make it easier. I loved the characters in this story, they were scrappy survivors who were fighting for something g better. It's a fast read but still packed with excitement and steam, easy to read in a couple of hours!

Best real conclusion to the series!

HOLY MOLY TINZEL. You have become one of my favorite alien men on these twin planets. It was a mini beauty and the beast retelling, if the beauty was a prisoner of 10+ years and the beast a very tall well endowed muscly male specimen (which why wasn’t the beast like this before….). Such a sweet resolution to the series’ about the Drixonian warriors! 1/5 spice.

Belle and Tinzel

I wish this story was longer! Belle is bring held at the same Joktal fort that Amber was held. After the events of The Alien's Reward, Tinzel and a small crew are sent out to find the last of the Joktals. Belle and Tinzel have an instant connection and a snowball fight! Sweet with a little spice!

Tinzel: Holidays With An Alien

What a sweet story. It started rather horrible, but the slaves were saved and the antagonists eliminated. As she stood up to the warriors, I knew her and their leader were destined to be together. After a dangerous encounter, she was saved by their love for one another. They went home and found their HEA.

3.5 ⭐️

I guess it kind of summed up the series and closed any leftover plot points with the Joktals but the editing was pretty bad

– Dual pov
– Virgin H/celibate heroine (doesn't go into her past at all but she's been kidnapped for at least 10 years)
– No cheating or OW/OM drama
– HEA ending + no epilogue but does conclude the series in a way

Head over heels quick read

I love the Outcast of Corin. I truly love the Drix. The whole series has been so enjoyable. The FMC was strong and soft when she needed to be. So glad Tinzel was wise from the beginning. Great read

Tinsel is a delightful addition to the Outcasts of Corin series. Love it as much as the other books. It is action packed, hot; the Loris get rescued and the bad guys get theirs! Excellent!

Short novella about Tinzel, son of naught and Belle, human captive by the Joktals.
It was cute so I'm giving 3.5 stars. Half of those belong to the Loris because they're adorable and I'm happy to see them get their HEA

Good read

Belle had been a captive for many years before being held by the Joktols. She is very protective of the Loris ( short furry beings). Tinzel leads warriors to free the Loris and finds a human. Enjoy

Sweet and spicy alien romance

I love the Drix from the series by this author. What's not to love when giant blue aliens riding hover bikes are involved? Love the detailed setting description and the other creatures in this world.

Really good love story

I know it’s part of the Hollidate series, but it’s not very Christmasie. It’s good though. I liked the characters a lot. The story moves quickly & isn’t too gruesome.
