In the second book of this early reader graphic novel series, Reggie the kid penguin returns with his trademark spunk and energy for more daily adventures … but they rarely go according to plan!
Around the neighborhood, Reggie is up to his regular shenanigans. But it seems like everything he does causes a mess! When he's building a toy robot, parts fly everywhere. When he's blowing bubbles, the suds make his flippers all slimy. And let's not even get started on what happens at the local pet talent show!
Reggie has a knack for causing a scene, but can this penguin use his creative energy to problem solve and learn what it means to take charge?
Penguin in Charge is a collection of six giggle-worthy comics that tell playful and relatable stories for fun-loving kids.
Reggie’s at it again in this second book of the series! Full of adventure and kid relatable fun, this book is sure to be a favorite in classrooms, libraries, and homes!
This was super cute. A few short stories with a charming penguin named Reggie. I liked how the first story encouraged imagination and how the butterfly story showed a kid's special interest and his perseverance. I reread my review from the first book and I found it weird how some animals are human like while others are pets and I still think that is weird but it was easier for me to overlook in this one.
Reggie is quite the spunky little penguin! This beginning reader graphic novel is divided into short chapters. The first tells of Reggie's adventures with building a complicated robot. Then we watch as he struggles with blowing bubbles and finally invents his own method. In the last chapter, Reggie is in charge of raising butterflies at school - he takes his job quite seriously.
I love Reggie and his unique, creative approach to everyday problems and situations! He's such a cutie, and reminds me so much of many of my students who are great at thinking outside the box! My kindergarteners LOVE the Reggie stories!
