Holiday Intrusion

Rate this book
On Christmas Eve, a masked stranger breaks into my home.
He ties me up with red ribbons.
And tells me my safe word is ‘mistletoe’.

Holiday Intrusion is a dark, standalone romance set in the world of Alpha Ties.

This Christmas tale is darker than your average fare.
Exclusively for readers who like their eggnog with a side of rough dominance and (woefully inadequate) girth training…

I am Nora Ash, and I write a plethora of different romance books. Some of them are really dirty, some of them are only kinda-dirty, some are paranormal, some are contemporary… Basically, I have a rampant imagination and no way of controlling it, except from just writing down whichever idea pops into my head at the time.

The one thing my books always have in common, though? A great story and a guaranteed HEA.
If you’re ever in doubt about what you’re about to read, have a look at my book page. It has a flame rating for each series, so you know what you’re getting yourself into!

I’m originally from the cold North (AKA Scandinavia) but these days I live in rainy England with my amazing fiancé and our two pesty cats. When I’m not writing, I’m probably reading, watching Real Housewives of Wherever (reality tv it’s my shameful addiction) or hiking in whatever bit of woodland I can find.

Three fun facts about me

I once ran away with a traveling circus
I’m bilingual. Almost-kinda trilingual, but my Spanish is terri-bad these days.
I’m a decent rider (English style only, though)

I seriously enjoy stories that don't follow the traditional method of falling in love. Well ass backwards to be precise. Don't heed the authors warnings because Holiday Intrusion isn't a dark festive Omegaverse romance; it's just bloody wrong!!

“You already love me; you just don’t know it yet. But don’t worry, darling, it’s my job to make you accept the truth, and I won’t rest until I have.”

Eve works in customer service. Taking retail complaints pre Christmas is a nightmare and the holidays can't come quick enough. And just when Eve is off on leave, she encounters an intruder in her home.

An alpha in rut who trusses Eve up like a Christmas turkey, complete with a safe word. The masked offender is taking a hostage. He may act rational in very few moments, however there is no stopping his intent to breed and knot her.

“Yes. That’s how much your pussy’s worth to me.” He moves the pad of his thumb over my clit again, a little more deliberately this time. “One night of opening your sweet little cunt for me, and you will never risk homelessness again.”

This worked amazingly well because there was no half measures. The line of consent was totally blurred and this Alpha took everything he wanted while Eve kind of consented during her orgasmic state. It was totally immoral and very taboo.

The sex was ridiculously filthy (think unmeasurable girth) in exchange for money. Yet once it's done, the Alpha is revealed and the courting commences. Unfortunately the story building wasn't brilliant but the smut was.

This was only ever going to end one way for Eve. While her brain screams no, her body rejoices. There were plenty of triggers but my dirty little libido didn't care!! I lapped this up. Thanks Cecile for the find. 🩷🩷

Masked stranger breaks into her house and buys her for the night. Smut smut and nothing but quality smut!

Omegaverse ft a huge alpha (and I do mean absolutely massive!) and a girl with a stacking mortgage 💸 super dirty! This man really wants to make her like it. He ties her up with ribbons and that goes on for about 70% of the novella.

If you enjoy omegaverse you will love this! If you’ve never read the genre please LOOK AWAY!!

Nora ash is one of my favorite Omegaverse authors, and Holiday Intrusion was just as delicious as i thought it would be.
I may have spontaneously combusted at some point with the heat i found between Eve’s sheets….because Adam may have been an Alpha to the core,he knew exactly how to make her burn with passion!
Yes,ok….it does sound a little corny,Adam and Eve….but trust me,they were anything but!

He may have started out as a stalker, ready to take what he wanted from her,but once he had her where he wanted her?
The lenghts he went through to make it as pleasurable as possible for her?
Swoon…..
The ridiculous idea of simply working her out of his system was doomed to fail from the start.
And that was made clear by the lenghts he went through to create the perfect situation to get his hands on her….

And Eve may have originally “allowed” him to ravish her because of his promise to pay her mortgage for her,but that was quickly forgotten when he showed her pleasure beyond her imagination.
Was she coerced into giving in?
At first maybe, but he made absolutely sure she wouldn’t regret a single second after…..which she clearly didn’t.
And that wasn’t because of his wealth,no….that was because of how he treated her,how he made her feel loved.

And as fearsome Alphas go,this one was só sweet towards his Mate!
He was possesive,ok…but he was also protective and put her needs before his own.
And he may have been a little sneaky here and there, but that made him even more loveable.
This may have been a quicky, but i enjoyed every second of it!
I dó however wonder what’s up with his brother…..

It was okay. I don't really enjoy Omeagaverse stories, so this just wasn't for me. I also didn't really enjoy the backward relationship. But the story was fine, and I thought the characters were great

To all fellow coochie owners out there... Do Not Try, I repeat, Do Not Try to emulate the scenes in this book... unless you are living in the Omegaverse (which in that case, I say, Lucky you 😁😁😁 !)

Ah Nora Ash... *dreamy sigh*

I am addicted to her brand of Omegaverse, of dominant, questionable but oh so chivalrous and passionate Alphas. She skillfully exploits the primal side of Omegaverse to deliver not only smolderingly explicit, too hot to touch sex scenes, but also exhilaratingly visceral 'fated' passion which somehow incites me to leave any feminine outrage outside and indulgently forgive dominant Hs for their OTT methods ☺. This book rode magnificently the thin line between romantic smut and CNC, all thanks to the Omegaverse world according to NA and her chef's kiss pen.

Although Alpha (Book 1, which was damn hot too btw!) was published quite some time back, I immediately fell back into the high octane world of Mattenburg (which incidentally I always picture as the world in the excellent Zootopia movie for so many reasons 😅). However, the big difference with Alpha, is that this book is quasi 💯 focused on the larger than life romance between Eve and Adam (yeah, I know, of all names pairing 😅). And I loved it. There was no side thriller plot, and half of the book was devoted to their insanely hot bedroom activities and the other half being some sweet and sigh worthy wooing. The best of both worlds. Thank you Nora Ash!

The epilogue was a bit weird though. We did get some nice ever after moments for Eve and Adam but the insertion of the likely leads for the next book set in the same world felt a bit out of place. But oh well, I am all yes for more of Mattenburg's huge Alphas 😆🥵🤩!

This is the very definition of a guilty pleasure. First half is an unapologetic non-con then dub-con fantasy (this is the guilty pleasure part, because what is this girth training business 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨), and the second half surprised me by tying a (slightly more) romantic bow around the story.

Not the sweet omegaverse I’m used to, as he is a stranger who literally breaks into her house and ties her up... but I could not put this down.

No shifts at this fictional call centre???

Is this what love is supposed to be like?

No it's not!

It's giving Zimbabwe.

*Insert TikTok audio here*

It's giving a lot of dub-con, non-con, she justified away her rape trigger warnings.
It's giving heavy doses of miscommunication/lying which I fucking hate.
It's giving dick that will re-arrange your anatomy which I absolutely hate.
It's giving emotional and biological manipulation.
It's giving safe word is just a figment of your imagination.
It's giving girl's-nose-is-broken.
It's giving walking around on egg shells.

“Okay. For a couple of weeks,” I say, giving him a reassuring smile.

It's giving girl-why-were-you-fucked-for-your-mortgage-if-he's-already-isolating/moving you in-to-his-penthouse?!?!?

It's giving she didn't even have a nest and her 'safe-space' home was taken away from her.

It's giving love bombing because she's already unknowingly pregnant.
It's giving financial isolation.
It's giving she forgot her goal was to go back to school.

“Eve, it’s your body. It’s your choice. But please don’t make it out of fear.

It's giving lies.

It's giving, in conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this Alpha to anyone. Eve needed to think clearly and get herself her own plan B. This book just didn't do it for me. It's giving I'm scared for Noelle at the end.

*ALC Review - Narrated in duet by Stella Hunter & J.F Harding*

This may only be a short book but my GOD does Nora Ash know how to pack a punch in a short amount of time. This audio is a MUST LISTEN at only 4 hours long it holds you captive, much like our heroine Eve finds herself, and will not let you go. I listened in one single session, it was unputdownable.

First up, yep this is a dark one and yes there are some uncomfortable aspects particularly around dubious consent. We all have our limits and triggers so check these out before going in. However, for me personally, the skill of Nora Ash was such that even in this scenario where our heroine finds herself at the mercy of a mysterious Alpha who has his way with her (boy does he) it was done so delicately that it always manages to stay on the right side of consent.

The story, despite this, is rather cute and feels more like a really wild and rough fantasy than anything more sinister. There is certainly a darker side to the world Nora Ash has created and I like that she alludes to this in the story, it adds more layers and fabric to the universe she is creating. But the point of the story is that Eve's "masked assailant" while technically ties her up and forces himself on for one night in exchange for paying off her mortgage, you always kind of know (and so does Eve really, which is tantamount to Ash's writing again) that it's more than sex he is after and there is no way he would do anything that would really harm her.

There is a lot of light and sweetness and laughter in this one to balance out the darker parts as well and after all it really is a Christmas story about two people finding their true matches. I am a sucker for Alpha/Omegaverse stories anyway but what I like about this is that Ash takes you to the brink of your comfort zone and makes you uncomfortable enough that she then rewards you with SO much decadent spice it is totally worth it. She holds us hostage and ties up like Eve so we are forced to experience ALL of it.

Its dark, dirty and and spicy as hell and this is only enhanced by the wonderful Stella Hunter and J.F Harding who have such wonderful intrinsic chemistry together that they are perfect for this. Stella is a marvel at bringing out all the vulnerability and sass of Eve as well as pitch perfect delivery of her lines giving some real laugh out loud moments as well as shudderingly sexy.

Everyone knows by now how much I adore J.F Harding and this is a kind of role he can do effortlessly. Unleashing the latent gruff commanding alpha tones making him absolutely lethal when he starts bringing out some of the filthy lines and then making us all swoon by breaking out those "baby girls". The definition of Alpha, his voice is so seductive it feels like he is wrapping you up and protecting you while at the same time ravishing you. Ok I'll stop now, but you get my drift. I loved it. Cannot wait to read more from this brilliant author.

(trigger warnings it is a little on the dark side) Eve works as an overworked, underpaid, customer representative with few friends and isolated from her family but one decision changes her life forever. Christmas Eve she is forced to take the train to make home but to get there in time she must take a certain elevator to make it home but after working double, triple shifts just to pay mortgage nothing more it a little disheartening and mistreated along the way is even more. Adam (masked man) sexy as all get out alpha with a few issues that stem from his background that we see that pushes to be a tad bit more crazy …okay a lot of crazy but the kind of crazy you like with his bossy, extremely demanding personality and the one constant is he makes no mistake in letting the world know that he loves Eve with everything that he is, with all his heart, willing to do whatever to and I do mean whatever to show her just how much. We get the Alpha / Omega dominance with these two she is unsure most of the time and her omega side allows people to mistreat her and the alpha in him won’t allow it willing to protect her in any way. She learns to depend on him and stop depending on herself he wanted her to what she wanted to do, will she accept him as her mate despite the deal made from the beginning, will she be honest with herself about him being her mate, and can they find their happiness along the way?

Eves night changed the minute she got in that lift..
This was spicy 🌶️ and an enjoyable read..
I have noticed that the stories Nora ash writes with the alphas, they always seem to have a gigantic Willy and a huge knot that is always painful for the female to take, they seem to be in pain and dread it..there seems to be more pain than enjoyment when they have sex…a bit more enjoyment and enthusiasm would be nice lol

2.25⭐️ I thought I would hate this a lot more than I did, I read nearly the entire thing in an afternoon. With that said, I did not realize this was part of a series & was missing some context around the whole alpha situation. Being that the book was 90% sex, that wasn’t really an issue. If you like seriously porny books & don’t mind terms like “alpha” - this book might be for you.

You have to go to a website to see the trigger warnings

It didn't load so I carried on since I've enjoyed this author before. Coerced pregnancy is a deal breaker for me. She's mad about being lied to for 30 seconds, he lies to her again about planning it, she believes it because she's a clown and then she immediately begs for the bite. Absolutely not.
Put the warnings in the book.

i love how the author wrote about alphaness as almost a disability: he was deranged with an impulse to claim and protect. it was also fairly funny seeing how smoothly and deftly he lied to reassure eve and get her compliance.

but the pacing was uneven. the following christmas introduces an entirely new plot twist that feels more confusing than intriguing; the author is clearly setting the sequel up, but it is clunky and detracts from this story.

Eve works as customer service representative of a toy company. She’s isolated from her family and overworked. On Christmas Eve she decides if she wants to make the train to take her home, she has no choice but to take the executive elevator during the rolling brown outs in the city. That decision leads to life changes she would never expect.
Here is what I did not like about this story: Eve’s desire to not want to be taken care of by her man. I don’t get that constant emotional fight anymore. I don’t mind playing hard to get for a little bit, but this desire for these female book characters to want to stay in poverty and struggle because “it’s what an independent woman would do” is annoying to me. If a man wants to take me to his penthouse and treat me like the Hope Diamond, then let’s get to it. If Eve was equal to Adam financially, I would understand the desire to keep her life like it was. However, Eve could only pay for her mortgage by eating microwave dinners every night, working double and triple shifts, and taking public transportation to get home in the dead of night. She was emotionally and physically exhausted. I could not connect with her on that level.
Here is what I liked about this story:
1. The gray consent/consensual-nonconsent. If this is not in your reading world, do not read this short story. Eve refers to it as SA a few times, but then corrects herself and Adam corrects her as well. He did give her the option during the unconventional way things were done.
2. Adam – manipulative, charming, charismatic, bossy, demanding, borderline antisocial personality disorder and psychopathic, but loves his Eve with all his heart. He understands what his biology is saying to him, but he does a horrible job of explaining it to Eve. She also does a horrible job of asking the right questions. Also, there is some tragedy in Adam’s background that makes him just a little scarier and more psychopathic. I’m here for his type of crazy.
3. The Alpa-Omega dynamic. I always like the alpha-omega dynamic. This is one is set in a more modern world than others. The intimate bits were quite dirty and exciting.
4. The relationship growth between Adam and Eve is good. She slowly begins to trust him and their love blossoms. She lets him be the alpha he needs to be so she can be the person she wants to be.
5. The other kinks mentioned in this short story. I wanted to see more of it, but Ms. Ash only gave us a taste (literally). I won’t go into details. However, if you are squeamish or put off by more taboo kinks such as hucows, don’t read this story.
6. The happy ending with a hint of a possible story two starring Adam’s completely psychopathic brother Alex. I want him to be depraved and degenerate. I do hope it does not take nine years to get Alex’s story.
7. The end of this story includes a link to the story of how Adam strategizes to get Eve. It was enlightening.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this story. This may be the story I read every holiday season. Thank you, Nora Ash, for this enjoyable read.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

"ALC Holiday Intrusion"
Narrated by Stella Hunter and JF Harding

Embarking upon this literary journey, the story unfolds with a nuanced exploration of the quintessential dynamics within the Omegaverse, encapsulating the very essence of Alpha and Omega. The enigmatic stranger, veiled behind a mask, emerges not as a mere interloper but as an intimately familiar presence in Eve's life. Their fateful encounter beckons, a moth drawn to a flame.
Executed with meticulous care, the tale traverses into shadowed realms that may resonate differently with each reader. A caveat is extended, encouraging perusal of the provided trigger warnings, and acknowledging that the narrative delves into murkier waters. For connoisseurs of the obscure, like me, this journey holds an unparalleled allure.
This tale weaves a tapestry where the boundaries between stalker and Alpha blur, raising the profound question: is this an Alpha discovering his destined mate? Eve, enveloped in trepidation by the masked stranger's ominous presence, becomes a pawn in a compelling bargaining game. Love, the currency of the exchange, comes at a price, one that proves irresistible to Eve.
As the narrative unfolds, the masked intruder transcends the conventional role of a taker. Instead, he becomes a soothing force, navigating the intricacies of Eve's fears with a deliberate and patient hand. A connection of epic proportions transpires, far surpassing the surface-level intrusion hinted at in the title.
Attempting to articulate the impact of this encounter is a challenging task, especially for a reviewer whose penchant for darkness aligns with the narrative's depths. The narrative delves into Eve's psyche, unraveling her fears and vulnerabilities, ultimately leading to a transformative journey where the boundaries of love and fear intertwine.
Stella Hunter and JF Harding, as narrators, breathe life into these characters with a mastery that elevates the experience. Their rendition captures the intricacies of the narrative, allowing listeners to feel the pulsating emotions and the evolving connection between Eve and her mysterious counterpart.
To Nora Ash, the architect of this mesmerizing tale, gratitude is extended for the privilege of experiencing this advanced copy. The author's penchant for delving into darker realms is tempered by a skillful navigation that ensures readers are rewarded with the coveted HEA’s —a testament to Ash's ability to balance the shadows with the light. In conclusion, a resounding well-done resonates, echoing the sentiment that, once again, Nora Ash has delivered a narrative that transcends the ordinary, leaving an indelible mark on those who venture into her world.

It's been a bit since I read a Nora Ash book, and can I just say: YESSS bring me more!!

We are back in Mattenburg baby! When I found that out I was quite excited because this little Xmas gem is in the same universe as the three other series by Nora Ash: AlphaAlpha |
FeralFeral & the Protector trilogy Protector: Rage.

This is Omegaverse and it's got lots of yummi kink. :D
Our dear Alpha has got a thing for tying her up with ribbons (it is Xmas after all right? ;) ) , stalking, coercion and more. He's definitely a bit on the darker side with his actions, but the story itself is quite sweet.

He is not exactly an Alphahole, but this isn't a super light and fluffy Alpha, though he does treat her very well.

I would say that if you don't like the Alphas and surroundings to be too dark, this is perfect, but if you have issues with coercion and stalker/intruder then it might be on the darker side for you. :)

This book as I said, contains a whole lot of smut - it's super good though and well written. I could not put the book down.

Eve is a strong woman, but in my opinion, she's a bit too independent, hehe.
It's a thing to write the females as strong, but at the same time have them be what I like to call: Stubborn.
And Eve is a bit stubborn. She's quite overworked, she struggles a bit financially and she doesn't have a close relationship with her family.
In comes her Alpha who is very strong financially and wants to take care of her, and what does she do? She puts up a fight over him wanting to take care of her. lol...so typical.
I do wish I would read less of this kind of thing - because to me it just doesn't make sense. :P
I feel like yelling "JUST LET HIM TAKE CARE OF YOU!" haha.

Our Alpha does decide that he wants Eve no matter what. Ties her up and things go on from there, it's perfect. I LOVE an Alpha like this in the OV books I read. The more primal the better for me, hehe.

I enjoyed this book quite a lot, and I gave it 5 deserving stars. :D I can't wait to read more as the epilogue introduces another char, and I would LOVE for him to have a book, because he was yummy.

I don't make a habit of buying books. It's in fact extremely rare that I buy one. I have a limited budget, therefore I have my trusted KU membership, so that I can still afford to read as much as I want. But then and there? I come across a book, that is not part of KU, but intrigues me so much, that I want to read it, and in the end I buy it instantly.

That's exactly what happened with this one. I found it on one of the list, that was provided from one of my Omegaverse book groups and display all new releases. Normally, I don't even read the blurb of some books, which aren't part of KU, so that I can't be tempted. But the title and cover? I couldn't prevent myself from seeing it. Therefore, I read the blurb. And here I am.

It was a great story and I loved reading it. The first half was really fitting for dark romance. It's straight up non-con/dub-con with stalker behavior, breeding kink and girth training… I mean, he intruded her home in burglar attire and has his way with her. That was right up my alley. But of course, everyone should check the trigger warnings and be comfortable with some aspects, that come with the darker side of stories.

The second half is more romantic, with Adam making Eve see that he will be everything she needs and all. Of course, with his possessive/obsessive behavior in the mix and some meddling/manipulation.

Weirdly, the story didn't really feel dark to me, despite the scenario. It feels like a Christmas story and in many ways it was cute to read. In may start out with him forcing himself on her, and then making a deal with him. But generally it's clear, for her, that he doesn't want to harm her and there is more behind it. It's more spicy and full of chemistry between the two.

I even had moments I laughed at some situations. So, it's really not that dark, though we get the gist that the world around them is full of variety and different layers and not exactly as a safe as some might assume.

And everything feels so vivid. It's astounding. I'm not sure, if I will read more books from Nora Ash. I really want too. But as I said, tight budget, so I can't afford it. Tho, if there will be a story about Alex and Noelle. I would be totally on board with that!

But for now, this was it. And I give it of course 5 out of 5 stars.
