This book is excellent and highly recommend to all mamas! The pressure we put on ourselves is just too crazy. Barb gives such insight into what truly matters - Christ! Unto Him in all I do and that’s all I can do even as a mother! That’s freedom, truly trusting God and letting go. There’s so much wisdom and love in Barb’s writing.

This book has practical tips to help you when you feel stressed.
I liked how the author drew from the Apostle Paul's life for lessons we can apply now.
Most of all, I enjoyed how she wove her personal stories into the book.
I will return to the roadmap she laid out in times of stress I will face in the future.

A Must Read Book on Biblical Stress Management!
Hi Everyone,
I had the privilege of getting to know Barb Roose by pitching to her as a literary agent through Books and Such Literary Agency. I was able to meet Barb Roose at her woman’s conference Aspire with my friends Noelle and Ella on April 26, 2024. When I saw that Barb Roose was looking for launch team members, I knew I absolutely wanted to help Barb out! I truly did enjoy reading Barb Roose’s book Stronger Than Stress.
Stronger Than Stress is advertised as a Bible study. While Bard Roose’s newest book certainly is a Bible study, I would also classify this book as a comedy and Christian self-help book. Barb Roose lists ten principles, but she does so with humor and practical tips rooted in Scripture. For example, in order to combat the negative, stressful behavior of overthinking, Barb recommends engaging in the “Scripture-one-minute-practice”. I would describe the “Scripture-one-minute-practice” this way: choose one verse that directly correlates to your current stressor. Then ask yourself, “What does this verse remind you of God, His character, or His promises? In what way does this verse encourage or instruct you?” Then move forward in your day, empowered by God’s Grace and Strength (Paraphrased from pg 123 of Stronger Than Stress).
I also think that Stronger Than Stress was hilarious because each chapter either opens or closes with a chuckle-inducing story from Barb’s life that illustrates the key points discussed in the chapter.
Does Stronger Than Stress sound like a great Biblical tool for you to use to handle your stress in God’s Strength? I invite you to, please, order Barb’s newest book from Amazon or your favorite online retailer.

**Reviews and opinions are my own. I was not financially compensated for this review, but I did receive a free advanced reader copy in exchange.

This is a book I will read again and will recommend. There’s so much to think about and take in. So many yes moments! So many highlights, underlining and comments. Although it is written for women, I think men would also find it helpful.
I highly recommend reading this book.

I only read the first three lines of the introduction to Barb Roose’s new book, “Stronger Than Stress” before I began to cry. I knew this book was exactly what I needed. The title alone speaks to a great number of women like myself who are dealing with enormous stress in our daily lives. Barb doesn’t write with rose-colored glasses, glossing over the hard or minimizing reality. But she does use humor, truth, and personal experience to draw the reader into encouragement, greater faith, and hope. I appreciated Barb’s practical suggestions paired with Scriptural reminders. Her humorous chapter titles such as “Get Off the Cross, Honey, Somebody Needs the Wood” and memorable acronyms like CATS (control, anxiety, time, and stress) provided great ways to remember what I was reading. The 10 spiritual practices are not ideas that are out of reach, but doable. I felt convicted by some, yet not left feeling guilty or lesser, but rather motivated and clear as to the why of the practices. This book is a must read! It’s for anyone feeling as if stress is their life’s “headline.” Barb’s book helped me to shift my mindset (and response) regarding stress, and I look forward to reading my paper copy today!

Are you dealing with stress in your life? Or should I ask how much stress are you dealing with? Barb Roose has written an engaging book about handling life’s stressors with help from God using several spiritual practices. Barb is no stranger to stress, and she offers humorous and transparent glimpses into her life and how she has handled trials. Barb’s admissions of her failures to cope remind the reader of our humanity and our common struggles.
But using spiritual disciplines such as sabbath rest, prayer, Scripture, and surrender to God can take the focus off ourselves and put it on our loving God. Barb provides practical exercises and questions that engage the reader and force her to put life trials into God’s perspective.
I found this book to be easy to read and relate to, and the spiritual practices are truly helpful.

Barbara Roose, author of “Stronger than Stress,” understands that which she writes. She understands being overwhelmed, stressed, and spinning too many plates at one time. She has been there, done that. But she has learned how to deal with it. In her book, she shares ten spiritual practices to help all of us overcome the battle of stress. She gives valuable tips and suggestions on how to practically implement these principles. In the last chapter, she teaches the readers how to overcome spiritual oppression. If you’re living a stressed-out life, (and who among us isn’t?) this is the book, other than the Bible, you need to read in 2024.

Barb Roose has pulled together a lifetime of experience with stress, a knowledge of biology and psychology, and a deep understanding of Scripture to create a practical handbook for Christian women who struggle with overthinking, overdoing and becoming overwhelmed. Using an encouraging, conversational style, she helps us first understand the reasons we are so often overwhelmed and then provides a practical, step-by-step roadmap to letting the Spirit lead us out of overwhelm and into the abundant life we were meant to live, as Christians. I loved this book!

This book is worn about such a red button topic. We ALL deal with stress in our lives, and some deal with issues that are more stressful than others. The author, Barb, has a great sense of humor that you feel when reading this book, which is great because this topic is too heavy not to be covered in humor. She also does an amazing job at including God’s Word in a Biblical way and intertwining it between personal stories to show great applications.
So… read it, then read it again… then pass it along to a friend! We ALL need to book!

"Stronger Than Stress" is a refreshing encouragement. The mix of thoughtfulness and spiritual practices gives readers a chance to contemplate our own life/faith balances and then put the ideas into action. Admittedly, I've read many things on the subject of stress, but found a new perspective with this book. It's practical, relatable, and supportive. It's one I'll keep on hand and return to for deeper consideration and application.
