I absolutely loved this book about Nora & Gabriel Nora is a sweet innocent girl when she first meet Gabriel and has had a crush on him ever since when she meets up with him at 25yrs old for help in finding her farther she finds out his always been in love with her and that they are married This book is full of twists and turns lies and deception but also love
This book was my first ARC read which is given by an author for an honest review!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book because of the dark romance and the sudden turn of events each chapter.
There are trigger warnings in this book so do be prepared for that! Dark romance and SA.
This is a very quick read and fast paced but it is very well written and I would definitely read more by this author! I would recommend this author and can’t wait to read more by her!
This book is full of twists and turns with a great story and plenty of heat! Gabriel is dark, dangerous and loves Nora to the depths of his soul. Nora is independent, feisty but is not so trusting of Gabe. Together they have a relationship that will push your emotions and that is packed full of chemistry. I loved every page of the book and can’t wait to read more from this author!
This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. It’s not your typical love story and is far from sweet, the characters are angry and upset with each other and this bleeds into how they treat each other. I liked the story and the characters and I’d like to read more about Nate and his story. Great read.
I loved it! This is a new author for me but I will come back.
Beware it's a dark romance. It has non consent, what I do believe was SA, drama, tears. It has it all!
I really enjoyed this story! And the spice level was awesome and really well written!
What I didn't like was ho quick the h forgives the H everytime que mess up! I mean Gabe beats her and he stays in her room for a day and forgives him. He assaults her and the same....
Anyway! Go read it!
I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review

I loved this book! Dark and delicious! Check your warnings if those things are an issue. There were some definite fireworks here. That being said, I’m somebody who enjoys a little bully in my reads. Gabe and Nora definitely give that. And it was nice to see Nora evolve over the course of the story
This was the first book I read by this author. It was really good. This was about Nora. It was just her and her father after her mother died. She had a crush on Gabriel and she didn’t know how he felt but he was always there for her. He bought her a car for her birthday and her and her friends went to the beach. Gabriel found her there really drunk. He picked her up literally and took her home. One day some things happened and he told her to pack as much as she could. They left in the middle of the night. He never told her why they left. A number a years later she came home to find her father gone and then someone called her phone to tell her to go to a certain address. She didn’t go and she went to Gabriel instead asking for help. Gabriel was an idiot at times. He put Nora through a lot of heartache. There was a lot that happened and I really recommend reading this book. It was so good.
Megan Cowell crafts a compelling cast of characters in "Tyrant King" that readers will find themselves invested in from the very beginning. Nora, the protagonist, is depicted as a relatable and likable young woman whose seemingly perfect life is shattered by unexpected events. Her internal struggles and vulnerabilities make her a sympathetic character, while her determination to navigate the challenges she faces with strength and resilience makes her admirable. Gabriel, the "bad boy" of New Orleans, is portrayed with complexity and depth, with layers of darkness and vulnerability that add depth to his character. Their dynamic and tumultuous relationship drives much of the narrative tension, keeping readers hooked until the very end.
Themes:
At its core, "Tyrant King" explores themes of love, loss, and redemption. Nora and Gabriel's relationship is fraught with challenges and obstacles, but their love for each other ultimately proves to be a powerful force for healing and transformation. Megan Cowell delves into the complexities of forgiveness and second chances, as the characters confront their past mistakes and strive to make amends. Additionally, the novel touches on themes of identity and self-discovery, as Nora and Gabriel grapple with their own sense of self-worth and belonging. Megan Cowell's writing style is immersive and evocative, drawing readers into the vibrant and atmospheric world of New Orleans. I highly recommend this novel to fans of romance and suspense, and look forward to reading more from Megan Cowell in the future.
I read this book after a very hard book. It was the first book that left me feeling like a book left me with Stockholm syndrome, so this book was breaking that chain.
This book deals with some straight up great themes that I found very refreshing. Love, loss, and redemption. Plain and simple and yet so deep and meaningful and full. Nora and Gabriel's relationship is full of its own obstacles and challenges. It's because of those challenges and obstacle's that their love over comes and comes out stronger and better for it.
It's through this book that Megan explores the themes of resilience, hope, love, and perseverance in the face of all adversity. She offers us the chance to find not only hope but also forgiveness.
From page one, we find we love the characters that Megan has created and the arcs that she has given them. Our MCs face so many trials, and yet they show how through all their adversities, there can still be hope and perseverance.
Megan has perfected the art of creating characters, and not just one, but a cast of characters that readers will be invested in from the very beginning.
Tyrant King by Megan Cowell was quick, spicy, and dark dark dark.
**Potential Spoilers**
Nora was only 15 when her father introduced her to the notorious Gabriel Silver, her new ‘protector.’ After Nora witnesses a murder, she no longer knows what exactly it is she needs protection from. After 5 years on the run, she needs the man she thought she escaped. Gabe has always been there for her, but that won’t stop him from making her pay for the pain she left in her wake.
I received an ARC of this read in exchange for an honest review. Overall, I enjoyed the story and would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a dark and very dominant MC. If Gabriel Silver is “morally gray,” he’s on the much darker end of the spectrum. We’re talking deep charcoal. She’s Mine. Touch her and d*e. I enjoyed the pacing and unexpected twists throughout. Lots of spice and SO MANY EMOTIONS!
This book does feature themes of SA, ab*se, violence, non-con, dub-con, etc. Please note content warnings, your mental health matters. <3
Tyrant King is my first read by this new to me author and I'm sold! Make sure to check the trigger warnings if certain things are an issue for you. It is a dark, intense read that has plenty of potential triggers. It's a well written story that sweeps it's reader in right away. And even though there were times I wanted to shake the h for giving in too quickly and throttle the H just because he was a jerk sometimes, I simply couldn't put it down. It has all that a reader could need in a book. Gabe and Nora brough plenty of spicy heat, drama, intensity and chaos to this story. Gabe, the devilishly, dark, demon and Nora, the little doormouse who eventually, somewhat grew into her own. It's a great, bully type romance that'll have you feeling all sorts of things by the end. I can't wait to see what's next from this author.
This is the very first book by this author that i have read and Megan did not disappoint !
This book is FULL of triggers and all things dark and twisted it may not be for some but it was my cup of tea with all the things that go bump in the night.
Its very fast paced and i finished it in just under 3 hours but it was a good dark read. Lots of dark and intense spice scenes but very well wrote.
The story and characters are very well written and i cant wait to see what other dark and Megan has in store for her readers
**** This book was given to me as part of her ARC team to read for a Honest Review.
So i dont normally review less than 5 stars but this book has its ups and downs… I loves the storyline and the flow of the story… what i sisnt love were the characters… I just coulsnt find one quality in the characters that would redeem them…!! Not once did the FMC truly stand up for herself or look out for herself and the MMC just failed at any redemption… there were definite touch her and die vibes but there wasnt any true chemistry built between the two outside of the prologue..sooo much room for improvement but just wasnt my favorite
I received this book as an arc in exchange for an honest review. I fell in love with this story! As soon as I had it I devoured it! I absolutely adore Nora and Gabriel is a great character! I love all the characters honestly so it’s hard to pick but Gabriel is my favorite easily. Finding a finger of your father so you have to return home? Sign me up! If you love Mafia type vibes then I highly recommend!

Tyrant King is book one of the New Orleans Series.
Gabriel annoyed me for some of this book. He was too demanding without giving any explanations for anything. He had some major mood swings which I did not like. This didn't take away from the story overall, but he bothered me at times.
There were a lot of twists and turns and not knowing who to trust. A lot of secrets get revealed and questions answered. Some shocking answers and some that you don't want to hear. Overall, it was good.
Wonderful dark romance This was a very quick read , it was fast-paced and very well written. I enjoyed every minute of it. The storyline was intriguing, and it had excellent characters (although I did thing Nora was a bit of a pushover) . The big bad wolf himself was deliciously 😋. This book has trigger warnings, so do be prepared
Really enjoyed this book. Yes he is a A hole but he loves her to the extreme. She loves him since she was young but had to leave her live behind for her father. Five years later they meet again. The story goes from there. There is some twists. I still have a few questions from this book and I hope the next one will answer them.
There were some unanswered questions and the story ended a bit short of what I was yearning for. I hope this means there will be more to their story. Gabriel and Nora are very hot and cold with one another. They both love each other but are quick to jump to conclusions rather than communicating. I enjoyed the tension between them. This is definitely one that you'll want to check the warnings on.
The concept of the book is good but there was obviously zero editing done. Wrong words were used throughout (ex. set instead of sex) and there's usually a few mistakes in every book but there were mistakes every few pages. I also can't get passed the SA by the husband part. I'm all for dark romance but marital r*pe is a no from me.

She is a normal teenager when she sees him again and she is secretly in love with him. Her father and her runs away and stays hidden for years or so they thought. Their relationship has its ups and downs and it was hot as beep. It was so good and hard to put down. I would like more.
I just loved this book. First book I’ve read from the author and I will definitely be reading more from her. I love Nora and Gabriel’s story. Lots of twist and turn. Possessive Alpha Man. Love that Nora will stand up for herself. Lots of surprises in the book. Hopefully there will be more books on other characters in the book especially Nate. Nora’s best friend. Love him too.
