Twenty-five is a memoir of cancer in poetry. Written twenty-five years after her cancer diagnosis, Beth MacDonald examines cancer's toll on her family when within months of her diagnosis both her sister and mother were diagnosed with cancer. This prose is raw and genuine, and is a personal gift from Beth to her reader. More than a recounting of merely what happened, Beth allows us glimpses into her mind and heart as her world falls apart and the pieces are stitched together -- knowing even in healing that her life will never be whole again. Sometimes the only thing we can do is grieve what was and what is lost, and then move forward. Thank you, Beth, for sharing your journey with us. I will re-read this again and again.
