A US Marshal Thriller

In the heart-pounding thriller, REDEMPTION, US Marshal Dirk Sterling faces his most challenging mission capturing the elusive fugitive, Beaux Crandall. Crandall, a criminal with a rap sheet that chills the spine, escaped a life sentence in a Federal Supermax and is now living life somewhere on a beach where he continues his reign of dealing in drugs, guns, and child pornography. Dirk pledges to hunt him down and bring him back to the United States to face justice.

To make matters worse, Dirk isn’t sure whom he can trust. Someone on the inside of either the US Marshal Service or the FBI had to have helped Crandall escape. Dirk feels personally responsible for not discovering the mole before Crandall was set free on the world to harm more innocent people. To redeem himself, Dirk must apprehend Crandall and put behind bars for life.

Dirk is determined to end Crandall's evil reign, but the fugitive's location remains a mystery. However, a glimmer of hope appears when Dirk discovers that Crandall's only weakness may be the love he still harbors for his deceased bodyguard and friend's mother, who resides in Mexico City.

In this electrifying tale of love, betrayal, and the relentless pursuit of justice, REDEMPTION takes readers on a thrilling journey where the bonds of friendship, the depths of love, and the quest for retribution converge in an explosive climax that will leave you breathless.

The next chapter of US Marshall Dirk Sterling. Doing his best to search for a fugitive that escaped whilst under orders for another case. Dirk Sterling manages to close 2 cases and catch a mole! How does he do it? Read and find out.

And on the personal side, can't wait to find out what happens to Dirk and Emory... Do they settle down and start a family? Does Hank and Amy find mutual grounds and actually talk about what's happening to them before their baby arrives? Does Teresa and Laurie find love, and a stepfather to their sons?

I absolutely love this series just as much as the tin Star k9 series

A Deputy Marshall really has two lives. There is the personal life and the work life. The collision between these two is opened wide in this story. There is mystery as the Marshalls are simultaneously working two major cases. This injects difficulties into individual lives. There is also action as the Marshalls follow the clues and are thrust into life and death situations.

This is not a K-9 story, yet a dog plays a central role. You will see the wonderful relationship between a dog and his boy. But the dog is more than that, as the story reveals.

If you like action and mystery with real life human drama, this story is in your lane.

Author Jodi Burnett quickly got my full attention with this third book of her US Marshall Dirk Sterling series. Dirk Stirling, along with the other agents in his office, is working to find conman and killer Simeon Gryms, but his heart is not in it. Instead, he is obsessed with locating and capturing Beaux Crandall, an escaped criminal known for his many crimes including child pornography, drug dealing, and murder.

But this story is also about the characters and their personal lives. There is some blending of the personal and work relationships and readers will like that the few staff members enjoy each other’s company and truly have each other’s back when needed.

This is a well written story that kept me turning the pages. Major characters are well fleshed out and the reader will find that the agents are multi-dimensional. I will admit that I quickly identified the mole, but that did not distract me from enjoying the story. Also, be aware that the issue of child pornography may be a trigger for some readers.

I was provided an advance copy of this book by the author with no promise requested or made of a positive review. Any opinions stated here are strictly my own.

Deputy US Marshal Dirk Sterling is on the assignment given to him by Chief  Deputy Marshal Emory Gray. The notorious Simon Gryms . Dirk was also involved in bring Beaux Crandall to justice. There is a lot of sabotaged to deal with. Lots of fast action, suspense and betrayal to this captivating read with a nail-biting finish. I received this ARC copy and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.

Redemption picks up where Corruption left off. This was a very fast paced read which always left me hanging on the edge of my seat. The storytelling is always very seamless without any awkward stops or pauses however, I love how a chapter can sometimes end in the middle of a sentence and/or story and keep you waiting until it picks back up again in the next chapter.

Throughout the story, you also get to learn more about the personal lives of Hank, Teresa and Laurie but it’s all intertwined within the main story and never takes away from it.

I like how things with Dirk and Emory continue to develop without interfering with the main story.

Every character has a story which is told completely, even the bad guy. There’s no harsh descriptive violence in the stories or descriptive sex, there’s no need. There’s enough implied for the reader to know what’s going on. There’s also enough to keep you interested in what happens next with them.

The storyline is fast moving and suspenseful. You don’t know which way things are going to turn which is what keeps it interesting.

Even though the story wraps up at the end, there’s just enough to have you anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

REDEMPTION was riveting. The thrilling plot was filled with suspense, intrigue, action, an escaped criminal, a manhunt on two fronts, mistrust in the FBI and/or the US Marshalls agencies due to a possible insider, awkward nightmares, family problems, getting a roommate, going to Mexico, another trip, letting loose, asking lots of questions, having bad vibes about someone, confronting a professional, thankful for the chief, an admittance of love, closing in on the culprit, arranging a trap for the bigger fish, a harrowing speed chase, redeeming a son's sins, oh no!, a barking Rottweiler, a badly-needed comeuppance, and an uncomfortable talk.
Emory and Dirk, the protagonists, tried their best to achieve their HEA. Moreover, I liked the author's writing style: well-written characters, fascinating settings, vivid descriptions, and a spellbound storyline which had my emotions on a roller-coaster ride. Overall, I liked the mesmerizing narrative.
I received a copy for free and am voluntarily giving my honest review.

US Marshal Dirk Sterling had previously captured fugitive Beaux Crandall who was wanted for crimes against children and murder. During his transfer to prison, he escaped and Dirk will not give up until he is back in custody. Dirk’s boss (and love interest) is Chief Deputy US Marshal Emory Grey. The FBI is in charge of tracking Crandall while Dirk and his partner have been assigned the case of a man who murdered an armored truck driver. As they track him around the country, by the women he dates and robs, can they stop him before someone else is killed? Teresa Mendez, their admin, is concerned about her sons after school care while Dirk’s partner is having marital problems at home. As Dirk catches a break on where Crandall may have moved his criminal enterprise, how can they get him into an area where he can be arrested? Has Dirk’s obsession with Crandall put his career and relationship with Emory in peril? Non -stop action and suspense…stay turned! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

REDEMPTION (US Marshal Dirk Sterling Book 3) , my twentieth read from author Jodi Burnett, who is one of my favorite authors. Burnett hits another out of the park with this one. This book continues the trend of well-written, enjoyable books, it caught my attention in the opening pages & I never put it down until completed, 282-pages in a single read! Burnett has created a complete world in which her primary characters interact with an ever-expanding world of repeat characters, some very familiar from her other series and at times crossing over. "I received a Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more in this series & more from this author, and look forward to WITSEC (US Marshal Dirk Sterling Book 4) when it's published in March of 2025. ***SPOILER*** too many clues as to who the mole was gave it away early in the book, but I still had to wait to see how it was concluded. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Thrilling action story with nice plot twists

Received this book for a voluntary honest ARC review.

Dirk is focused on recapturing Beaux Crandall, but he and Hank have to shift focus to Simenon Gryms, their current case. They talk with potential victims, and after he kills one, Dirk and Hank find him in the crowd at the murder site. When he attempts to run, they capture him.

On the personal side, Dirk and Emory grow closer. At the same time, Hank and Amy, his pregnant wife, grow more distant. Teresa is struggling with her life, but after a life-threatening event, she learns that her team is her family, and they have each other’s back.

Through hard work and luck, Dirk finds a connection to Beaux. Even with a leak, Dirk and Hank are able to capture him. Dirk knows who the leak is. Family again comes into play, and Bear’s actions save the day.

The book is exciting and enjoyable.

A captivating book. Dirk Sterling is a US Marshal in pursuit of a particular criminal and his characterization is the first thing that sets this book apart. It is not your usual police procedural. The USMS (U. S. Marshals Service) is not bound by territories or nature of a crime. They just go and take care of whatever needs fixing, wherever it happens. It has been called the oldest and most versatile of law enforcement agencies and Jodi Burnett has done her research, so the book is a wonderful learning experience. And there are crimes and criminals, progressions and setbacks, love interests and conflicts, and very good character development. The book makes one care about the people in it. I love mysteries and this is a perfect addition to the genre. I am so looking forward to reading more about Marshal Sterling and his cohorts, friends, and enemies. I am pleased to recommend this book to any readers, whether mystery fans or not.

Action-Packed Suspense

This story kept me on the edge of my seat. There was a lot going on with the story. A man escaped from prison, leaving dead bodies behind. Sterling was determined to get him. However, his boss, who also happened to be the woman he loved, had him working on another case. There was a killer on the loose, and he was taking advantage of women, pretending to be someone he was not, and stealing from them. While Sterling knew it was important to capture this criminal, he wanted to work on the case of the escaped prisoner. Not only was he a killer, but also a child rapist. To top it off, he believed this criminal escaped because someone on the inside helped him.

This story will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. It is action-packed and suspenseful. There is even a dash of romance. I recommend this story to those who like stories with suspense, action, and plot twists.

US Marshal Dirk Stirling has been assigned the task of finding conman and killer Simeon Gryms. The case is important, yes, but his heart is set on recapturing Beaux Crandall, a criminal involved in dealing drugs, guns, child pornography, and human trafficking. Working both cases simultaneously puts him at odds with his boss and romantic interest, Chief Deputy US Marshal Emory Grey.

Besides trouble with Dirk and Emory’s personal relationship, Dirk’s partner on the case, Henry, and his pregnant wife, are also experiencing relationship issues.

A gripping story with danger, revenge, betrayal, relationship issues and more! Looking forward to the next story in this series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Interesting

I liked the combination of these story lines with past book references. I read the books about Caitlin and Renegade and enjoyed meeting them again here.
The sub plots are always entertaining. What is going to happen with Hank and Amy? I have six children and I didn't relate to her "pregnancy hormones". More is going on. Like being a Navy wife, it takes a special woman to be a military or cops wife. Laurie is s good example.
So, I'm getting better at being a detective. I was on to the girl in the bar, but not who she was. I also guessed the mole and what he was up to. Hey, 59% isn't bad. As long as it doesn't get me killed. 😄
I'm ready for the next adventure. Will Dirk and Em survive the tension of his ghosts?

Dirk, Emory, Hank, Teresa, US Marshals, trying to bring down a monster that sell out kids, to other monsters

US Marshals are sent everywhere to get info or catch the criminals that abound in the USA. Some have great family backing and others are left wondering what betrayal happens next. They work in teams mostly that can cover each other’s backs. This is because some of the people they chase are real murders and some are pedafiles , some are petty crooks. But they know the suspects will get worse if left to their own devices. It’s the Marshalls job to catch and bring to the courts for prosecution even if it means they are the targets at times.

(4.5) Angst. There is a lot popping in Redemption. Everyone from the team has a lot going on, personal and work related. This is a fast paced page turner that delivers a lot suspense. Dirk is following his obsession with catching Beaux Crandall, a truly horrific criminal involved in guns, drugs, human trafficking, child pornography and looking to branch out. I knew who the inside help for Beaux was as soon as they appeared on the page. Henry, aka Hank is still dealing with his own personal issues. I have no patience for Hank's wife. I can't say more because I don't do spoilers. Teresa has things going on as well. Suffice to Redemption gives a lot of bang for the money and when we see Caitlyn its icing on the cake. #Redemption #USMarshallDirkSterling #JodiBurnett #SDGPublishing #Bookfunnel

Jodi Burnett does it again with Redemption! In this 3rd book of the series, we see the US Marshal Dirk Stirling go after the one that got away, the fugitive that keeps him up at night trying to figure out where he is and how he escaped capture. The character development continues to grow with each of members of this US Marshal's office and there are several sub stories within this action packed thriller, including a few twists I didn't see coming. While you don't have to read the books in order, I do recommend it. That said, this one does well on it's own. I'm a huge fan!

ARC review. Redemption is the third book in Jodi Burnett’s US Marshal Thriller’s series. As usual Jodi nor Dirk disappoint the reader. The characters are well developed and the storyline makes you live the story. The action twists and grows as it takes on a life of its own. It simmers at times and at other times erupts into full blown chaos. What it doesn’t do is lose your undivided attention or keep you from turning the next page. Beaux Crandall has to be stopped and Dirk is the man for the job.

Audiobook: I was entertained by the third book in this series as much as the first two books. I admired US Marshall Dirk Sterling's dedication to his job. My attention was grabbed by all the obstacles which US Marshall Sterling had to overcome. I enjoyed the occasional flashes of humor. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I thought Nick Cracknell's narration was entertaining. I was gifted a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without any financial gain, to post this review which included my honest opinions regarding this story.

A fast paced thriller continues the story of Dirk in this series as he hunts down an escaped convict, Crandall. He is convinced there is a leak in the law enforcement that allowed him to escape. Working against odds, Dirk is determined to get this bad guy. Following leads of Crandall's previous romance of his bodyguard,he closes in on his catch. Will he be successful & get this criminal back behind bars? This is a must read that will keep you on the edge of your seat &will not disappoint.

Dirk and his partner are tasked with tracking down a killer con man but they're distracted by the escape of a criminal mastermind as well as their interpersonal problems with their love interests. There's plenty of action and suspense in this thriller as well as a dog.
