In the quaint town of Evergreen Falls, where Christmas is celebrated with unmatched enthusiasm, there's a charming tradition that brings the community together every year. It's the "Christmas Wish List" event, where everyone anonymously writes down a heartfelt wish and places it in a special mailbox located in the town square. The wishes are then randomly assigned to someone else in the town, and the joy comes from trying to grant these wishes during the holiday season. When Alex Forrester comes back to Evergreen Falls after a fifteen-year absence, little does he suspect that his wish will come true in the most unexpected way."The Christmas Wish List" is a heartwarming gay Christmas romance story that explores the magic of love, community, and the unexpected ways in which wishes can come true during the most wonderful time of the year.
Lee Quail (1993) was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, to British immigrant parents. Qualified as a horticulturist (but does not practice). His first book, "Gideon," was published via Amazon on 21 December, 2018. He lives with his husband and two yorkies in a large house in Sandton, Johannesburg.
Sweet seasonal story of the small American town where Alex grew up and to which he returns after a fifteen-year absence. Much has happened in his absence, including Ethan—with whom Alex had shared a mutual attraction in their youth—having been married and widowed, in between becoming the father of Pete, now ten years old.
Christmas is supposed to be a time of magic and miracles, and it’s down to Mrs Donohue—who runs the town’s Christmas Wish List activity—to see if it’s possible to get Alex and Ethan together at last. Whether she succeeds or not—and how—it’s necessary to read this feel-good Christmas story. Delightful.
This was simply a wonderful Christmas reading by the awesome Lee Quail! This is definitely a book I’ll read every Christmas from now on! It was a sweet reading which would make for an awesome Gay Hallmarkesque type of Christmas movie! It was an easy and enjoyable reading. Definitely 5 stars from me!
The story focuses on Lost Loves in a town called Evergreen Falls! The star-crossed lovers would be Alex who was revisiting his town after being away for so long and Ethan, a grocery store owner who had lost his wife. Ethan had a son named Pete.
When Alex came back to the town, he had accidentally tumbled over a boy on a bike. The incident caused Pete to lose couple important mails intended for the Christmas List drop-off box. Alex helped Peter retrieve all but one letter. In the meantime, he had been wondering what became of Ethan, his childhood love only to find out that Ethan had married a lady after Alex left and produced a son. He found out it was Pete who he tumbled over. When Alex saw Ethan at the grocery store, Ethan was upset and did not want to see him ever because Alex had broken his heart. I’ll just stop right there and have you pick up the book and read to find out what happened to that lone mail and whether Ethan would ever forgive Alex. Happy reading!!!!
This is a very short story, so I can't say much about it without mentioning a spoiler, so I'll try to be as succinct as possible.
Alex and Ethan were childhood friends in the small town of Evergreen Falls, until Alex's family moved away. They kissed each other goodbye, and it was at that moment that they both realized they were in love, but they never heard from each other again. Now fifteen years later, Alex has returned to Evergreen Falls at Christmas time, and he finds that Ethan is married (with a very ill wife) and has a young son.
The title refers to a tradition in the town, where everyone writes a Christmas wish anonymously and places it in a red box in the town center. Right before Christmas, a very wise woman in town reads each message and then gives it to someone who can fulfill it.
I really cant say more about the story without giving away spoilers, but i can say that it all works out in the end.
What’s not to love about Ethan, Alex and Pete? What’s not to love about the idea of a Christmas wish coming true? And that cover! One of the loveliest I’ve seen. This is a charming story of lost love – in more than one sense – and a story of hope. Evergreen Falls is a little town where everyone knows everyone else. A friendly, cosy place where young boys were once pulled apart and where those grown-up boys are now going to be pushed back together. Sir in a bit of magic and the town’s tradition of sharing Christmas wishes is going to change lives.
This is a sweet short story. Written with all heart in the Christmas spirit. Ethan and Alex have been pulled apart by life. Life has a way of mending your heart. Evergreen Falls is a special place where Christmas wishes can come true. LEE QUAIL has covered so much in this short tale, packed full of holiday happiness. I found this to be a beautiful gift. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!
Alex & Ethan were best friends when Alex’s family moved away 15 years ago. This story will pull at your heart strings. I thought it was well written. This is my 1 st book by this author, and it won’t be my last. I highly recommend reading this. I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.
I love happy Christmas stories and I love second chance stories. This book is both. The story has a magical Christmas quality and is very heart warming. I highly recommit for a good holiday read.
A sad and touching tale about lost love, loneliness, and the magic of Christmas. I really liked it but found it a teensy bit cutesy at times, but still a nice read.
This was a great story but at times I really didn’t care for the way the father acted or treated his son that’s the only reason I gave it four instead of five stars.
This was a cute concept for a story. It was great that Alex finally came home and reconnect with Ethan. The story just felt like it jumped back and forth a little and while the finding of Alex’s promise from 15 years earlier was cute, it just didn’t ring true with the events that actually caused him to come back. I also felt that the conflict with the gal from the bank and how she was connected to them just didn’t help the story.
This was a sweet holiday story of Alex and Ethan( who were best friends as kids) having a second chance at love when Alex returns to his small home town.
Alex has never forgotten Ethan and hopes they can find a future together. Ethan is struggling and feels hurt still from when Alex left.
Christmas is time for forgiveness and love and having your wishes come true.
This was a pleasant story and I absolutely adore that cover.
