Neville Goddard was a writer, speaker and mystic. He taught various self-help methods for testing his own claim that the human imagination is omnificent, therefore God. He achieved popularity by reinterpreting the Bible and the poetry of William Blake.
I was listening to a lecture by Dr. Wayne Dyer a couple of weeks ago and he recommended Neville's works as tools for the realization of self. I'm very glad that I took his advice and picked up a few of them.
Neville Goddard has some profound insights on desires, manifestation, and idealization. I had read some of his techniques and visualizations from different New Age authors... I didn't realize that they had taken some self improvement exercises directly from his work. I like reading original ideas from their source, tho I'm also open to modern interpretations like Dyer's book, Wishes Fulfilled.
Read this if you're truly interested in 'awakening your imagination'. This book has some powerful suggestions and practices in it for that specific purpose.
Imagination awakened is one of the simplest explanation of Imagination and application of it from day to day experiences to attaining any major desire in life. Author conveys Imagination is the inner power that we hold and call by different names be it God, higher self, consciousness.
Couple of points to consider from the book –
•The abundant life that Christ promised us is ours to experience now, but not until we have the sense of Christ as our imagination can we experience it.
•Imagination’s birth and growth is the gradual transition from a God of tradition to a God of experience. If the birth of Christ in man seems slow, it is only because man is unwilling to let go the comfortable but false anchorage of tradition.
•Freedom and forgiveness are indissolubly linked. Not to forgive is to be at war with ourselves for we are freed according to our capacity to forgive. Forgive, not merely from a sense of duty or service, forgive because you want to.
A profound exploration of the creative power of human imagination. He masterfully demonstrates how our thoughts, beliefs, and inner conversations shape the reality we experience. Drawing from scripture, mysticism, and personal anecdotes, Goddard offers practical techniques to harness this power, making it a guide for manifesting one's desires and achieving personal transformation.
The book's philosophical depth is matched by its accessibility, making it a timeless classic for both beginners and seasoned seekers in the realms of metaphysics and self-development. A must-read for anyone looking to unlock their potential and live intentionally.
To attempt to change the world before we change our concept of ourselves is to struggle against the nature of things. There can be no outer change until there is first an inner change. As within, so without.
However we toil or struggle, we can receive no more than our subconscious assumptions affirm.
If we would become as emotionally aroused over our ideals as we become over our dislikes, we would ascend to the plane of our ideals as easily as we now descend to the level of our hates. Love and hate have a magical transforming power, and we grow through their exercise into the likeness of what we contemplate. By intensity of hatred we create in ourselves the character we imagine in our enemies. Qualities die for want of attention, so the unlovely states might best be rubbed out by imagining “beauty for ashes and joy for mourning” [Isaiah 61:3] rather than by direct attacks on the state from which we would be free. “Whatsoever things are lovely and of good report, think on these things” [phillipians 4:8], for we become that with which we are en rapport. There is nothing to change but our concept of self.
As soon as we succeed in transforming self, our world will dissolve and reshape itself in harmony with that which our change affirms.
It was a very good book, wasn't exactly what I was expecting, as in it was more... spiritual than I imagined, but I guess it was written by Neville G. Either way it was a good book and I took something away from it which is the whole point.
basically the manifesting manifesto, some quotes in there are really helpful and useful but besides that . the bible quotes were a bit much . it was okay , not amazing . but not awful but more bad than good i guess lol

It is a truly thought-provoking and inspirational book that delves into the power of imagination and its crucial role in shaping our reality. First published in the mid-20th century, Goddard's work has continued to resonate with readers seeking personal transformation and a deeper understanding of the metaphysical aspects of life.
Goddard's core premise is that imagination is not just a passive faculty for creating mental images, but a potent, creative force that can shape our lives. He argues that by harnessing and directing our imaginative powers, we can bring about real changes in our world. This concept alihttps://www.goodreads.com/?ref=nav_ho... with many principles found in New Thought and Law of Attraction philosophies.
The writing style is clear and accessible, making complex ideas easy to grasp. Goddard's use of biblical allegories and personal anecdotes adds a rich, relatable texture to his philosophical insights. He often references scriptures, interpreting them as metaphors for the mind's creative power, which may appeal particularly to readers who appreciate spiritual or religious contexts.
One of the most compelling aspects of "Awakened Imagination" is its emphasis on the practical application of its ideas. Goddard encourages readers to actively experiment with imaginative techniques, such as visualization and affirmation, to manifest their desires and bring positive changes into their lives. This hands-on approach empowers readers, offering them tools to take charge of their mental and emotional landscapes.
However, skeptics might find some of Goddard's claims overly optimistic or lacking empirical support. The book's heavy reliance on anecdotal evidence and scriptural interpretation may not appeal to those who prefer a more scientific or rationalist approach to understanding the mind's capabilities.

Awakened Imagination by Neville Goddard is a blend of religion and self help. Goddard reinterprets biblical texts as symbolic representations of inner psychological and spiritual processes. The book teaches readers how to harness the power of imagination to shape their reality, empowering the readers to take control of their inner creative process.
To realize your ideal, you must first change the pattern which your imagination has followed. And for this you have to look at the world through the eye of the god. Remember to forgive and remember to be born again.
I found Goddard's books to be very esoteric yet they are very accessible in the basic teachings - if one wants to follow them.

“Man becomes what he imagines,” states Goddard in this discussion of the imagination and the primary role this divine faculty of the mind plays in the process of manifestation. A bit too abstract and repetitive, Goddard’s insights are quite thought provoking nonetheless:
“The imagination connects us with the state desired. But we must use imagination masterfully, not as an onlooker thinking OF the end, but as a partaker thinking FROM the end. We must actually BE there in the imagination”—dwelling in the state desired by picturing it as present reality. (p. 42)
“The future must become the present in the imagination of the one who would wisely and consciously create circumstances. We must translate vision into Being.” (p. 51)
“Through continuous imagination, one’s imaginings will harden into fact.” (p. 55)
Throughout this book, Neville shares numerous examples and anecdotes of individuals who have used the power of their imagination to achieve their goals and transform their lives. These stories serve as inspiration and proof that the techniques Neville teaches really do work.
I particularly enjoyed Neville's emphasis on the importance of feeling as if our desires have already been fulfilled. He explains that by generating the feeling of gratitude and satisfaction as if our desires are already a reality, we create a magnetic force that attracts those desires to us.
This read can ruffle many feathers not from a negative perspective but from one that makes you conscious or aware of the things happening around you and your involvement with them. It also touches on everything being internal and that is true, everything, every emotion, reaction, speech, and action comes from internal dialogue and one's involvement. So one must be conscious of this and apply it to see a difference within themselves to see a difference without themselves. Imagination is all and all is imagination.
34% A lot of make-a-wish-upon-a-star-no-matter-who-you-are-your-wish-really-will-come-true-as-long-as-you-believe And that is some bullshit. You need to work for and towards your dreams. Manifestation is a neat science that involves you actually trying. And I know, so everyone hates trying. Except for me and, like, less than 1% of the other people on the planet. I really believe that. It's pretty bad. So, this book sucked.
I loved this book because it is written so simple, yet such powerful words. It is a source of inspiration for me, I really enjoy this kind of reading and this book has helped me realize how much power we have and how little we use it... Definite recommendation for people searching for more.
With each book I am guided to read from Neville, this modern day prophet, I awaken more than I even conceived that I could. As you allow yourself to journey on the road of spiritual metaphysics, this work will no doubt solidify a deep understanding that a part of you knew, but didn't know you knew. Take your time here, enjoy the meal.
I believe this is the truth , I can distinctively remember of two separate occasions where I had been imagining a certain situations for some time until it happened just as I had imagined. I never could have figured it out this book explains it so clearly
The power of your imagination is unfathomable. The sooner you realize that your consciousness is the world around you and you are the harbinger of your own reality, the sooner you can allow the power of your imagination to improve your life and see yourself where you always wanted to be. Highly recommend
This book is literally a Christian preaching sessions but I don't mind.
Most of the key points are, as a reader we need to improve the way we imagine. Feeling as if the event happened even though it hasn't happened. To have the persistent and the belief to see it through until the end, although nothing has yet manifested. Love the books and love the wisdom of Neville.
