A female auto racer, a mechanic determined to walk away from the sport, and the race of a lifetime… When young widow Flora Montfort returns to America, she’s determined to use her training in auto racing to support herself and her French mother-in-law—even if female drivers are rare in 1905. So when the owner of a successful sporting goods store hires her to drive in the Glidden Tour, a ten-day race through New England, she jumps at the opportunity.
Jensen Gable must be convinced that joining the team as the ride-along mechanic is worth the risk. After losing his best friend in a tragic racing accident, Jensen has vowed never to participate in the sport again. But his promise to protect that friend’s younger brother, also on the tour, is the only thing that outweighs his fear of the dangers.
As they race through New England, Flora and Jensen find common ground that ignites their interest in each other, but doubts and old enemies come between them. Hazardous road conditions, meddling locals, and competitors who’ll stop at nothing to win—they all conspire to prevent Flora and Jensen from reaching the finish line. As the race of a lifetime heats up, one question rises above all others…can their love find the road that leads to forever?
This was a great story about Flora, who is a female race car driver in 1905. She and Jensen, who comes on as her mechanic, compete in a race. This is a different type a race than today's Nascar races where you just go in circles. You have to drive from point A to point B in a certain amount of time, and then the next day go to a new destination. And the mechanic rides with you in the car. If you ever watched, Herbie goes to Monte Carlo, then you know what I'm talking about. Anyway, I really liked this story. I loved watching Flora and Jensen get to know one another and learn to trust one another. Great Christian Content. I definitely recommend!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
This was a leisurely and pleasant read . Wholesome and uplifting too as some elements were based upon a real life female sports car driver in the early 1900s. There were many gentle spiritual references sprinkled with a major storyline of forgiveness being extended to one rotten character when most people wouldn't have. The bully admitted he would have continued on in the race as others did even though help was needed for a serious vehicle accident. It was a fine debut as I do try to read and review new authors here n there to perhaps help them.
An Uncertain Road sheds light on women racecar drivers. Who knew racecar driving was an event in 1905? I learned something new which I love to do through fiction.
This was a neat story about automobiles and racing. Flora is a female racer, and Jensen a mechanic. The two must learn to trust in God and let their past go. This story was well researched and I found the history of automobile racing quite interesting. This is a clean adventure across road with some romance along the way. Also, this cover is beautiful.
I was given a copy of this book from the author and was not required to write a review.
I recall first seeing An Uncommon Road pop up in the Avid Readers of Christian Fiction group back in November. I saw the synopsis and thought “that’s a book I would read!” So I quickly filled out the form when Abbey shared it!
I enjoyed every page! From the landmarks and cities I’ve lived in and visited, to the interplay between characters, to the disappointments they all experienced. The pages were filled with the characters growing and learning, forgiving and loving.
The book gave off a bit of a grumpy/sunshine vibe. Flora instantly had my heart, and the draw between her and Jensen was palpable. Like a normal couple they had some bumps in the road (pun kind of intended 😆). They had to learn to trust, communicate, forgive and grow together! The side characters were a delight to get to know as well! Beth was my favorite side character!
Abbey did an excellent job, the kisses were perfect, and the dialogue and interactions were believable. I was able to make the book come alive in my mind! ☺️
I look forward to Abbey’s next book!
I was given a complimentary commentary and volunteered an honest review.
What a BEAUTIFUL debut novel! This book is rich with fascinating historical detail about auto-racing in the early 1900s (make sure to read the notes at the end of the book). I loved the give and take between Flora and Jensen. Their pasts hold some startlingly similarities, but very different responses. My favorite is how each of them realize that perhaps God does yet have good things in store for them -human love, healing, adventure, and purpose. There are some excellent swoony moments in this story and some true-to-life heart tugging experiences. I can't wait for y'all to read this!
This historical story caught my attention because of the unusualness of the heroine’s occupation, a female race car driver in 1905. Pair that with a mechanic hero who wants to walk away from anything to do with racing and you have a very interesting opposites attract romance. Or is it? As I read with interest how Flora Montfort and Jensen Grable interacted throughout the story, I could see that there was way more to their relationship than opposing viewpoints. Simmering though the plot lines were many inspirational moments where the characters wrestled with forgiveness for past actions and tried to move forward while letting go of past hurts and regrets. It was so interesting to find in the Author’s Notes that Flora’s character was based off of a real-life female auto racer of the early twentieth century, making the Glidden Race throughout New England that Flora and Jensen participated in all the more fascinating. This author is new to me and I’m looking forward to reading more of her books.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher through Celebrate Lit. I was not required to write a positive review and the above thoughts are my own.
An Uncertain Road by Abbey Downey was a wonderful historical romance novel set in 1905 during the early days of the automobile and early auto racing. Flora Montfort is a widow who used to race with her husband until he died in an accident. Jensen Gable is an auto mechanic who wants nothing to do with the dangerous contraptions anymore, ever since his as-close-as-a-brother friend also died in an accident. The two meet in Philadelphia while there for a wedding and don’t quite hit it off at first. Yet they are thrust together to participate in the 10-day Glidden Tour that will take them from NYC through New England and back. The story alternates between both their points of view. I love Flora’s independent spirit and tenacity as she competes as a pioneer female automobile racer, one who isn’t afraid to take risks. Which of course is a huge obstacle to Jensen, who is all about safety. So, you know, put them together in a race and things are bound to end up tense. There are dangers and obstacles to deal with, along with intrigue and sabotage. And that is just in the race. The relationship between Flora and Jensen has its own barriers to break through. I found myself rooting for them and wanting to yell at them more than once as they dealt with their issues. The importance of being truthful and not hiding things is seen, right along with learning to trust in God and remembering to go to Him and realizing He is so much greater than our problems. One thing that really surprised me was that other people could ride along during this race. I enjoyed learning more about early automobiles and racing. And we got to see two different kinds of races in the story.
Definitely a book I recommend. I received this book for free from the author as a part of the launch team and was not required to write a favorable review. These are my own, honest thoughts.
Wow! What a fantastic book! It's full of surprises and some intrigue! There's also a sweet love story!
All of the characters are wonderful and easy to like! Flora is amazing! She's a female automobile driver! She's full of courage and determination! Jensen intrigued me from the beginning. He's quiet, brooding, and hiding a secret.
I really enjoyed learning about automobile racing! It's all very fascinating - there's so much that goes into having a safe, accident free race. I liked that the book ended in Syracuse, NY, which is where I grew up! I'm definitely adding Abbey Downey to my favorite authors list!
I was provided a copy of the book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
An Uncertain Road, a gripping historical saga set amidst the dawn of the 20th century, unveils the thrilling journey of Flora, a daring female pilot of the open road, and Jensen, her steadfast mechanic. Against the backdrop of the exhilarating world of auto racing, readers are transported to a time of unbridled ambition and roaring engines.
An Uncertain Road is a compelling read that blends history, romance, and faith. It offers a refreshing perspective on the early days of automobile racing and the resilience of the human spirit.
What captivated my imagination from the very outset was the bold premise of Flora's foray into the male-dominated realm of auto racing. The author masterfully intertwines elements of adventure, romance, and faith as Flora and Jensen set out on their high-octane odyssey. Their evolving relationship, grounded in trust and mutual admiration, unfolds with an authenticity that is both stirring and genuine.
A standout feature of the narrative is the meticulous attention to historical detail, painting a vivid portrait of the early days of auto racing. From the thunderous roar of the engines to the glimmer of hope on the horizon, the author's research breathes life into the story, immersing readers in a world of speed and spectacle.
I appreciated the underlying themes of forgiveness, redemption, and letting go of the past that permeate the storyline. As Flora and Jensen confront their fears and insecurities, they are forced to grapple with the complexities of forgiveness and find the courage to move forward.
I recommend An Uncertain Road to anyone looking for an engaging and uplifting historical fiction novel. Its impression will linger with you, even after you've finished reading.
I received a digital copy of An Uncertain Road via Celebrate Lit Publicity Group. I am not required to write a positive review in any way or for any reason. My honest and unbiased opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing and story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.
What a fascinating adventure to ride along on a vintage automobile race and have a front seat view to the developing romance between driver Flora and mechanic Jensen in this sweet story. Character flaws, family loyalty, and past guilt plague the would-be couple as they search for their futures. You'll have to read to see if that road ends with them traveling the same path or whether they take opposite forks.
This was my first book to read by this author and I thought she did a great job with both the characters and the storyline. This Christian historical novel is set in the year 1905. The main character in the story, Flora Montfort, is a race car driver, which was a very unusual career for a woman during that era. As she and her race team began a ten-day cross-country race, she knew that she had much to prove before people would take seriously her desire to be a race car driver. Jensen Gable is her mechanic. Their relationship had many ups and downs and even though they were attracted to each other, Flora needed to find a way to completely trust Jensen with her heart.
Reading about the race held my interest especially because of all the adversity they encountered along the route. There’s also a thread of faith that runs throughout the story as both Flora and Jensen came to deepen their relationship with God which gave an inspirational aspect to the book. I’ll be interested to read more in this “Adventurous Hearts” series.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.
We meet our heroine Flora on the first page as she prays her Decauville will get her to her brother’s engagement party. She is kind, caring, and lives an adventurous life because of her free spirit. Flora knows who she is, what she wants and isn’t afraid to go for it.
Don’t let her outward confidence fool you. She has her own demons. Unfortunately, fairy tale love has never existed for her, that is until she meets Jensen, who, by the way, hates racing.
Well, let’s say Jensen puts on that he hates racing and for a good reason. However, a passion for racing lives within him. All he needs is for Flora to help him overcome his fears and embrace the world of racing again.
You can imagine how well Flora and Jensen hit it off when they first meet. Her enthusiasm for racing clashes with his fear and hatred of the sport.
Abbey takes Flora and Jensen on an adventure packed love journey as they race together. One of the most nerve-wracking scenes is when they race up a mountain. The road is gravel and predominantly one car width wide. They experience heart-pounding moments as they cling to the edge of the mountain during their drive to the top.
Jensen is a kind, quiet man, but his desire to protect the ones he loves makes him a man to be reckoned with. This, of course, causes tension between him and Flora. However, his gentle touch will have you swooning. Jensen knows how to love and cherish the woman of his dreams.
One of the most inspirational moments in this book comes when they go head-to-head with their racing nemesis. I cannot say much, as I do not want to give anything away. However, the sacrifice they make reminds of how Jesus left His thrown in Heaven to save us. Readers will not only enjoy but also be inspired by this incredible story of redemption and reconciliation.
LiteraryScape gives An Uncertain Road 3 out of 3 lassos, as we are sure it will have you hooked and hog-tied from beginning to end!
I gave the following ratings to each of the elements below. Romance – Espresso to Mocha Suspense – Mocha Action – Mocha Mystery – Espresso Drama – Espresso Inspiration – Mocha (Rating Scale: Espresso = an expression, Mocha = medium amount, Latte = a lot)
A female auto racer, a mechanic determined to walk away from the sport, and the race of a lifetime. This was a fun, quick read. I enjoyed learning more about the early days of automobile racing and women’s role in it. I also appreciate the deeper parts of the book where fear, hurt, and guilt are addressed. I was pleasantly surprised by the turn of events toward the end of the book. It was far more realistic than most romantic Christian fiction I read. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
In a world where societal norms dictated the confines of a woman’s ambitions, Abbey Downey’s “An Uncertain Road” emerges as a refreshing tale of resilience, love, and unexpected twists set against the backdrop of Christian historical romance. Through the lens of Flora Montfort, a young widow determined to carve her path in the male-dominated world of race car driving in 1905, Downey weaves a captivating narrative that transcends conventional boundaries.
Flora Montfort’s journey is one of defiance and determination, as she defies societal expectations to pursue her passion for racing. In an era where female drivers were a rarity, Flora’s courage and tenacity shine through as she navigates the perilous terrain of both the racetrack and the patriarchal society that surrounds her. Her decision to utilize her skills as a race car driver to support herself and her family is a testament to her strength of character and unwavering spirit.
However, Flora’s journey is not one she undertakes alone. Enter Jensen Gable, the enigmatic ride-along mechanic whose past tragedy looms large over his present. Drawn together by fate and circumstance, Flora and Jensen’s burgeoning relationship adds an additional layer of complexity to an already intricate narrative. As they navigate the uncertainties of life and love, both characters are forced to confront their deepest fears and insecurities, leading to unexpected twists and turns along the way.
What sets “An Uncertain Road” apart is Downey’s ability to craft well-rounded characters that readers can’t help but root for. From Flora’s unwavering determination to Jensen’s inner turmoil, each character is imbued with depth and complexity, making them feel like old friends by the story’s end. Downey’s attention to detail and meticulous research shines through in her vivid descriptions of the racing world, transporting readers to the heart-pounding excitement of the racetrack.
As I turned the pages of “An Uncertain Road,” I found myself utterly captivated by the characters and their journey. Downey’s skillful storytelling kept me on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating each twist and turn in the road. From the exhilarating race scenes to the tender moments of romance, every aspect of the story is expertly crafted to keep readers hooked from start to finish.
In conclusion, “An Uncertain Road” is a must-read for fans of Christian historical romance. Abbey Downey has created a captivating tale of love, courage, and redemption that will linger in the hearts of readers long after they’ve turned the final page. So, if you’re looking for a book that will sweep you off your feet and leave you breathless, look no further than “An Uncertain Road.” Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
The year is 1905 and cars and racing cars is a new and fascinating invention and sport. Not everyone loved cars, but some, and rightly so saw them as the future as transportation. This was a very interesting read of the early 1900's and the role automobiles had on the public and as auto racing became a new sport. It was also a time when women were not really wanted to and sometimes just not allowed to play in sports.
Widow Flora Montfort has now come back to her home, the United States, with her mother-in-law for her brother's upcoming wedding but also hoping there will be more opportunities for her to start a career in a field that she loves after the death of her husband left them both destitute. And just what does she love? Racing cars. But will she be any more accepted in that role here in the USA than she was in Europe?
Jensen Gable, a brilliant mechanic, wishes autos would just disappear. He is going about a job he neither cares about or is good at just to stay away from his true calling. Until he is asked to become the mechanic for the racing team of his late best friend's family store. How can he say no to that when he owes them so much? How can he say yes when he is keeping secrets about their son's death from them? Anyway, things get much more interesting when Flora, a woman, is asked to be the driver. A woman who exasperates and fascinates him at the same time.
This was a fun historical read about racing cars, women in sports, and a lovely romance between two people who either want to fight or kiss. A great start to a new series and a new to me author.
I was provided a copy of this novel from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
“Take joy in the driving, the thrill of doing well, even the pride of winning if that opportunity arises.”
When young widow Flora Montfort returns to America, she’s clearly determined to use her training in auto racing to support herself and her French mother-in-law, Isabelle—even if female drivers are quite rare in the year, 1905. Soon the owner of a successful sporting goods store hires Flora to drive in the Glidden Tour, a ten-day race through New England, and Flora excitingly jumps at such an opportunity.
Jensen Gable really must be convinced that joining the team as the ride-along mechanic is worth the risk. After losing his best friend in a tragic racing accident years ago, Jensen has vowed never to participate in the sport again. But his promise to protect that friend’s younger brother, also on the tour, is ultimately the only thing that outweighs his fear of the dangers.
As they race through New England, Flora and Jensen find common ground that ignites their interest in each other, but soon doubts and old enemies come between them. Hazardous road conditions, meddling locals, and competitors who’ll stop at nothing to win—they all conspire to prevent Flora and Jensen from reaching the finish line.
As the race of a lifetime heats up, one question rises above all others…can their love find the road that leads to forever?
@abbeydowney your book, An Uncertain Road is such a treasure! This is such a beautiful weaved layered tale with such endearing characters! Your writing style had me transported right along for this adventurous ride with the twists and turns Flora and Jensen faced on the road. I love that with faith, they were led to a better place than they ever could have imagined together. I look forward to more from you! This gem is worth the read!
“Reaching Flora’s side, Jensen took her hand in his and let hopes for their shared future swell in his heart.”
What an exciting story this has been. I remember watching a show about racing across country around the time period of this book. However it did not have such a fierce woman driver. Flora is someone to be reckoned with. I love how she doesn’t let others discourage her from her dream. She loves driving in races and is confident that this race will prove to be successful. I appreciate the history behind this story and how far women have come in many areas including sports.
I was not surprised at the people who didn’t support Flora. After all they seem to think it’s a man’s race. Jensen is a little hesitant to join Flora’s team but he does want to make sure the race is fair and keep her safe. He is a very experienced mechanic but holds back a little of himself. He has a secret that could hurt many people. I felt bad that he carries such a burden of guilt.
The race is adventurous, dangerous and exciting all at the same time. Someone is sabotaging vehicles, the path the race should go and the weather isn’t cooperating either. I loved watching Jensen and Flora slowly begin to form a friendship. Past hurts come up and the author illustrates how God forgives and gives grace. Don’t miss this adventure with a race that will have you rooting for the team of Flora and Jensen.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
Christian Historical Romance books are a favorite genre to read. An Uncertain Road by Abbey Downey is the most recent book in this genre that I read.
WOW, I am astounded by this WONDERFUL Debut Novel. The book is set in 1905 and is focused on the early days of Auto Racing. The 2 main characters, Flora Montfort and Jensen Gable, really make this book intriguing and interesting. Flora is a Race Car Driver, which is rare for those times, who decided to do a 10 day race under a sponsor. Jensen is her mechanic for the race. I really admire Jensen as he is still in grief from losing a friend in a race accident and only came back to the racing scene to protect his friends younger brother. Flora is a very strong and independent woman who wants to help her Mother in Law. I really LOVE how the relationship grew between Flora and Jensen. They overcame some trials and situations that might have deterred others from continuing the race, in. The situations only made them stronger together. The author does a GREAT job at bringing the history of auto racing into the story and it was very enlightening! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Romance. FANTASTIC BOOK!
I found this story fascinating! Not the norm as it focuses on automobile racing in the early 1900's with a woman driver! Flora is a great example of pioneer in those days. She is determined, almost fearless (within reason because she wants to be safe also) and doesn't care than men think she can't race. I also loved her sunshiny attitude! However, it did change quickly when she was crossed! Jensen was just the opposite! He was quiet, brooding and gloomy. He holds secrets from his past that affected him deeply. When they are talked into taking part in the Glidden Tour race (which was a real race, I looked it up!), tensions run high. There are not only emotions between Flora and Jensen (and another couple that ride along) but other participants. Jensen has an old enemy that wants to exact his revenge during the race. Will he succeed? I loved learning about the race itself and then "riding along" with them! Learning about the pitfalls of early racing was fascinating too. Flora and Jensen were opposites but along the way, they changed each other and helped each other heal. A very good story!
What I think you should know: An Uncertain Road by Abbey Downey is a Christian Historical Romance. It is the first book in the Adventurous Hearts series. The book is set in Philadelphia in 1905 and features female racecar driver Flora and her reluctant mechanic Jenson Gable.
What I think about this book: My grandfather was involved in the early days of racing that would eventually become known as NASCAR. From his stories it was a wild and crazy time so when I think of automobiles decades earlier I can’t imagine racing them! This book took me to unknown territories that created an exciting story. Flora was such a fun and inspirational character, I felt like I was in her shoes during the race. Jensen was a confounding character, it was easy to understand his reluctance to be involved in automobiles again, but hard to understand his motivation at parts of the story. The author did a great job of laying the foundation and depicting the scenery. This was a fantastic debut novel. I am excited to read what the author writes in the future!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
An Uncertain Road (Adventurous Hearts Book 1) by Abbey Downey is an interesting look at car racing in 1095. Even more interesting is that the main character is a woman in a time when women did not have the constitutional right to vote in the United States. Still this young widow, Flora Montfort does not hesitate to drive in a ten-day race through New England. Part of the team includes Jensen Gable, though it’s clear he doesn’t want to be a part of the racing world anymore.
Despite the length of the race, problems they encountered, the precarious road conditions and shrewd competitors who want to win no matter the cost, Flora, Jensen, and team do not give up. An adventurous story that is also filled with character growth, forgiveness, acceptance, discovery, and love.
A new to me author that has given us an exciting and inspiring story in An Uncertain Road. Recommend to all historical Christian fiction readers.
The publisher Wild Hearts Books provided a digital ARC. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.
I was certain I’d enjoy “An Uncertain Road” as soon as I read the blurb. A female auto racer in the early 1900s? Yes, please! How unique and intriguing.
Flora and Jensen (both lovely names, by the way) are fun to get to know, and I enjoyed their growth throughout the story. Seeing their friendship develop and romance blossom is so enjoyable, especially seeing things from both of their perspectives. The adventure, sabotage, danger, and romance add just the right amount of tension, and had me racing through the pages.
The elements of forgiveness and faith are the heart of this story, and I loved witnessing Jensen and Flora’s transformations. Don’t miss the author’s note at the end! I look forward to reading more from this new-to-me author.

#CoverLoverBookReview received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions are 100% mine.
This was my first read by Abbey Downey and I have to say, this was a very interesting read. I learned a lot about female race car drivers and ended up doing some research on my own.
Flora is a female race car driver and Jensen is a mechanic. Jensen has a harsh past in race car driving and wants to walk away from that world. Flora is a widow who used to race until her husband died in an accident. Flora has an independent spirit, willing to pioneer as a female race car driver. They are set together to collaborate on a race where their personalities are bound to clash and get closer to each other. Tension rises and they have bumps on the road to overcome, both physically and emotionally.
I got a bit annoyed at them throughout the book for not communicating when they should’ve. And trying to deal with things on their own. It was a bit frustrating to read. At the same time, I was rooting for them to end up together. I loved how they ended up together. Thank you to the author for the complimentary copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Flora has led an unusual life leading up to her move to be closer to her brother. She has raced in the past and finds herself with the opportunity to race again. Flora takes the opportunity but has a difficult time trying to change the opinion of her mechanic, Jensen. Jensen also has had a relationship with cars that has been hard to move on from. The two have to find a way to get along while learning to forgive themselves.
Learning about the racing community in the beginning times was very intriguing. The book made me want to look more into early racing of this time. I love when books teach me about a moment in time I was not familiar with.
The message within the book was powerful. The characters were able to move past guilt to forgiving themselves to move forward. The way the characters take care of the problem within the story was powerful as well.
I would recommend this book. I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own and I was not required to leave a positive review.
I haven’t ever read a historical romance about race cars or female race car drivers, but I was intrigued by the story. I enjoyed learning about the Glidden Tour and stopped several times while I was reading to learn more about the cars that were featured. I can honestly say that I am glad automobiles have improved throughout the years as Flora and Jansen embark upon a ten day tour with a road that was really not much more than a path in several places.
The theme of letting go of the past and allowing God to help was well done and was shown not only in Jansen’s life, but Flora’s as well. This is a lesson that many of us can relate to personally. I can recommend reading this book for readers from young adults through mature readers. This is the first book in the Adventurous Hearts series, and I am looking forward to seeing what other experiences await us.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher through Celebrate Lit. A positive review was not required.
If you are looking for something different then look no farther as this is definitely an adventure. From the exquisite cover to the details of racing in 1905 you will be fascinated. A female driver was not readily accepted in this time period so to break the barriers to race was certainly difficult, but Flora is definitely up to the task as a strong willed female. Racing was difficult over treacherous roads and made even more so with wearing a dress and hat to maintain your femininity in uncertain conditions. Both Flora and her mechanic have suffered a significant loss that they blame themselves for but over the road course God will work on them and you can witness the transformation. I found this book to be informative as well as delightful. I loved the interaction between characters and found it believable and like I had ridden along with them. This is book one in the Adventurous Hearts series and I look forward to more. Very entertaining and interesting. I received a complimentary copy from CelebrateLit. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.
An Uncertain Road is a delightful piece of historical fiction with real people as the inspiration for this fun piece of fiction. I loved learning about women in the very early days of auto racing before they were banned.
Of course, I had to research a bit on my own. Because what good history-loving person wouldn’t? And I definitely love history! I’m not a huge sports person though.
I loved the characters. There was just the right balance of love and romance versus suspense or plot points. Add in fun and history. Plus its a good clean read. Highly recommend it.
