From USA Today bestselling romance author Willow Winters, comes an unexpectedly hot standalone with two alphas and one human mate. Get ready for a fast paced and steamy paranormal novella in the To Be Claimed world that romance readers can’t stop raving about.
We tracked her down, now we’re keeping her.
After all she is our mate…
We’re the twin Alphas of Dark Valley, opposite in almost every way but both of us are shocked that we share a mate… and that she’s human. I have no idea how this pretty little woman could handle one of us, let alone both. When lust turns to obsession, neither of us will be able to fight the pull to her and I’m not sure either of us will be willing to share.
She never could have known what searching for answers about shifters could lead to and neither could we. Now the only thing she'll be learning is who she belongs to.
If you enjoy sexy, alpha werewolves and standalone, insta-love stories, complete with a happily ever after, this book is for you.
Willow started writing after having her little girl, Evie, December 2015. All during her pregnancy with Evie she continued to read and she only wanted to read romance. She was reading a book a day — sometimes two.
In January 2016 Willow was staying up late with Evie and just thinking of all these stories. They came to her constantly so she finally sat down and just started writing. She always wanted to do it so she figured, why not? Today Willow cannot be happier for making that decision!
• Emma, Luke, and Owen’s story and this book is part of the To Be Claimed Saga
Emma has been waiting years for a lead and now she finally got one. Her career is finally going to take off once she can get video evidence to back up her data. She has been studying werewolves for years, but it’s always been received with heavy skepticism. She is the most widely talked about journalist and researcher, and definitely respected by many, but with all of the false information out there, she needs proof. ……. That’s exactly what she Is planning on doing. She just doesn’t realize that she is going to get in way over her head. …….. And she is willing to do whatever that is needed in order to get this story.
Twin brothers that are alpha of their pack…… They are night and day …. One is the peacekeeper, the one who keeps things light around the pack. The other is too dark and intense and too much of a hothead………. And hopefully now that they have found their shared ‘MATE’ one or both doesn’t mess things up
If you've enjoyed the To Be Claimed world, you'll enjoy this addition!
This is the first piece I have read from Willow Winters. I have a feeling it shouldn't have been. Clearly, I'm missing things because from what I tried to research, there is more to this story and these characters. If that's true, then that's on me.
BUT. Regardless of that, this is a novella. Something that's supposed to be short, sweet, and simple. Easy to follow and to the point. This, for me, was ALL over the place. I AM SO SORRY BUT FORGIVE ME FOR A MINUTE WHILE I BECOME RUTHLESS: I REALLY tried to find a redeeming quality and just...couldn't. The characters were not hot or fun, they were annoying and irritating. The plot...weird. The conversations...forced and all over the place. If Emma wasn't crying, did she actually do anything? Liam and Owen were the worst characters I've ever read about. They had zero appeal to them. You meet your mate and the first words you say are "suck"??? I think that was the moment I was done with this. That's not even remotely cute or hot. It's just WEIRD.
The writing...not it for me, I'm sorry. Started off good but then something went wrong. Felt worse than fanfic. This was literally Twilight/Teen Wolf crossed with whining for 3 hours. It felt very immature with the "I love you but NO WAIT, I HATE YOU, NO WAIT I LOVE YOU". IF YOU HATE HIM DON'T SLEEP WITH HIM, GOODBYE. I hate nothing more than insta-love tropes but I didn't know that's what this was going into this. Even with novella's, you can have relationship developments, so I don't know what happened here. OH ALSO. And if she's human, why is she in heat?! WTF MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
I never rate things a 1 unless I am REALLY struggling to want to read something. How do you skim a novella? Because, unfortunately, I really tried to read this as fast as I could. I will always finish a book because you never know if things turn around. But wow. I am SO SO SO SO SO SORRY but I'm not going to NOT be honest. If you are a fan of WW, then you'll probably eat this up and be here for it. I just got off on the wrong foot.
I feel bad leaving reviews like this BUT I also make reviews my venting sessions. Not everyone is going to like everything someone writes and that's okay. So if I've offended fans of WW, my bad...but ahhhh nope this ain't it.

Thoughts: This stand-alone, insta-love story is packed with steamy scenes. If you love the dynamic of an MFM relationship between two alphas and their mate you’ll love this. Owen and Luke are twin brothers but it doesn’t stop them from being possessive and jealous over sharing a mate.
I loved how Owen and Luke’s pack was a band of misfits thrown together. Everyone was a different kind of shifters; I wish it had been a bigger part of the story.
This story of fated love also has a bit of suspense of an impending war on the rise. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this paranormal world Willow created.
For the rest of the To Be Claimed Saga you can find them on Amazon. I recommend reading them all but you don’t have too. This is them in order: Wounded Kiss Gentle Scars Primal Lust Broken Fate Captive Desire And coming soon- Under His Reign (I can’t wait to read about the Dragons!)
Thank you Willow Winter for letting me read an advance copy for you.
This was… extremely disappointing. So many things wrong and missed out. The only reason I’m giving it a 2 is because although the characters were annoying and the book was pretty bad, I did enjoy that the men seemed more dark and wofly—which I don’t see that for werewolves very much unfortunately and honestly I’ve been craving wolfy men lately. The FMC I did not like whatsoever, she had no personality imo and honestly the narrator (audiobook) didn’t help. Luke (one of the MMC’s) went from hating her to wanting her every other second, and I usually like that trope… when it’s written good. This? This was not written good. Luke and the FMC didn’t get along until 95% into the book, literally 20 mins before the audiobook was over. Owen (other MMC) was nicer but I feel like he was written by a bunch of different people (along with Luke ig), he went from being upset, to flirty and back to being upset again just to end up horny. This book was all smut and I was okay with that, however the smut was boring and only had like two smex scenes with one of the guys and one smex scene with the other (two if you want to count a sharing scene at the end). Also… the only plot that seemed to be in the book was cut off at the end. A war seemed to start (for what? No idea) and that’s how it ended. I get this is a series of stand-alones, but authors should know that not everyone wants to read all books—sometimes we just want to read one of the books and that’s it. This book was about these characters and we didn’t get anything with these characters. No character development (even tho they try to say there was some) and the guys were completely jelly of each other until the very end. Btw this was all in a spand of like 3 days.

Captive Desire is a standalone paranormal/werewolf shifter romance by the incredible Willow Winters. Though this is a standalone read, it links to Willow’s To Be Claimed saga with its events within the story, as well as character mentions.
As mentioned, we first heard of Owen, Liam & Emma in brief in Willow’s To Be Claimed saga novels. This read, however, is where the three of them get to shine and their story be told in full. They’re all front and centre for our literary enjoyment.
After being won over by Willow’s books in her To Be Claimed saga and back into team paranormal/shifter romance, I was jumping for joy when I realised we’d be getting the back story on how Liam, his brother Owen and Emma all came to be as a threesome. Don’t worry, Liam and Owen share Emma. Nothing more, nothing less. This is a book about how the two of them realise, learn and adapt to life with Emma as their mate. Well, that’s just touching the surface but as you’ll soon find out when you read this book for yourself, it’s so much more.
What’s better than a shifter romance? A shifter romance with a twist. See, Emma isn’t just the mate of two alpha male shifters. She’s not a shifter at all. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, she is a human.
Emma is a curious woman by nature. Going into the woods her soon-to-be-alphas frequent with one mission in mind is soon the last of her worries. When curiosity turns to lust and lust to obsession, her mission is subsequently aborted for two far more irresistible pieces of interest. She might be trying to resist the pull to those two, but they most certainly are not.
Never underestimate one alpha—let alone two—when he’s determined and on his own mission.
Liam, Owen & Emma were a delight to get to know more in-depth. Having a story from their own POVs really put another piece into the grand-scale puzzle, and Willow did it with S.P.I.C.E. I had anticipated steam and spice because, cmon, it’s our girl here who’s the writer who always brings it. But I didn’t anticipate the kind of spice that had me reading with my jaw wide open and re-reading the same paragraphs to relive the moments.
This has to be my favourite book out of the shifter romances I’ve read from her, and I really hope to see these three again in a future paranormal/shifter romance novel. I have a feeling there’s more yet to come their way. Pun intended.
Hot, powerful emotions but not for one but two alphas what's a girl to do, enjoy comes to mind. If you have read Broken Fate then you will know who these hot twins are, now it's time for you to find out how Emma came into Luke and Owen's Life. I'm never disappointed when I read Willow's books and again another fab tale to tell.
I received an eARC exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and options are my own.
To tell you I was excited for this book would be an understatement. I’ve been dying to read Emma, Luke, and Owen’s story and I have to say it is hands down my FAVORITE! It’s spicy, raw, hot and perfect for the spooky season. These three have so much chemistry. I loved getting to know them on a deeper level, especially Emma! I don’t want to give too much away, but if you’re looking for something really steamy, something you can read in one sitting, and in a world that you could easily get lost in, then this is a great book for you! I do, however, recommend reading the other books in the series. I feel like you’d be pretty lost, going into it, blind without reading the rest of the books. I can’t wait to see what’s next in the to be claimed world. There are so many side characters. I’d love to see the backstory to.
This book was such an easy read. I literally read it in only a few hours! This story is about two werewolf brothers who have the same human mate and oh man, the spice! I had to keep reading because I needed to know what would happen between them! lf you like paranormal romances then I highly recommend this one! The spice is so hot! 🔥
A quick read. As you may have guessed I’m juggling my genres 🤣
This is a wolf shifter story, our FMC Emma is not shifter but has an interest in them and wants to write a story to put forward to the newspaper she works for. Something along the lines of sharing our world with the paranormal.
She follows footprints of shifters into the woods, hoping to get her scoop. Unfortunately, she is the one who is scooped up off her feet by two wolf brothers. The alpha’s of their pack, turns out she is their fated mate.
It was a fast paced read, I quite enjoyed it. There was a back and forth between them all, the attempting to leave before they eventually talked it out. Some spice not too much.
This is a standalone, quick and steamy read within the To be Claimed world. Although you can read as a standalone, it's certainly better if you've read the other books in this world. I really liked this authors writing, and have been impatiently waiting for this book. This was quite a short, but heavy on steam story, with great writing and great characters. I'm really looking forward to dragon's
Get ready to enjoy Luke and Owens story a part of the To Be Claimed series. This story is full of HEAT!! A PNR insta-love romance with a little bite and a sexy claiming.
These twin Alpha’s find their mate in a human girl who’s writing a exposé about shifters. Unbeknown to her that fate has chosen her for these two very different Alpha’s and they will be keeping her. I really liked the differences between Luke and Owens personalities. Their need to be loved by Emma is certainly interesting and fascinating. These engaging, captivating and passionate character do make for a delightful story.
So if your looking for an inviting, steamy and entertaining book you will happily escape into this story
Congratulations Willow on another wonderful book in this Stunning series. I look forward to reading Under His Reign..
Captive Desires is a standalone in the To Be Claimed world.
Luke and Owen are Twin Alphas of the Dark Valley pack and are on the hunt for their mates. To their surprise they are fated to share a Mate and she's human. Emma is on a mission to track down the wolf shifter pack and learn more from them. She wants to bring the shifters and human worlds together and expose the world to their life. She wants the world to know the truth not just the tales humans are told. She's not going to give up in bringing both worlds together in unity. In the forest she's alone and can't stop thinking the shifters she has been track has to be near by but soon realized they were closing in on her and not the other way around. Owen and Luke are going to bring her back to their pack and then she'll understand their intentions, or so they thunk. Neither one of the brothers is very vocal about their true intentions and leaves a bit of confusion in Emma's mind. Not understanding this uncontrollable desire she has for both wolf shifters she gets understandably confused. Not knowing how their world works isn't making her feelings easier. The journey to their pack and the journey to finding their true fate is a wild combination of firey passion, miscommunication, sacrifice and all emotions you can imagine combined.
Willow Winters gives us another heart warming paranormal romance that brings our heart rates up and tears to our eyes.
Thank you Willow Winters for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest opinion and review!
This spicy novella is a fantasy - werewolf romance that is a part of her To Be Claimed saga. This can be read as a standalone (this was my personal experience). But as always for best reading experience, it is recommended to read the full saga for the best experience.
This time around - we focus on Alpha Twins Owen and Luke, as they finally find their human mate - Emma.
Sparks fly, and we soon find out what it means for these two to share, and claim their mate for themselves.
Willow has a fun way of writing! This fast paced read was DEVOURED within a single sitting. I cannot wait to see what is in store in her next To Be Claimed story! I Highly recommend giving this one a try. To see any/all trigger warnings - visit Willow Winter's author website.

Willow does not disappoint in Luke and Owen’s story. This PNR romance is full of steam and all the feels. Emma is Luke and Owen’s human mate. She has done her research on werewolves but was not prepared to feel the pull she instantly felt towards both Luke and Owen. They hit a bump in the road but the journey to overcome that bump is one you will not want to miss out on. Their story is part of the To Be Claimed world and the twins Luke and Owen are Jude’s younger brothers. I can’t wait to get more from this world. It has me totally hooked and fully invested. I definitely recommend and you will not be disappointed.
A short and sweet continuation of the To Be Claimed world. This story focuses on Owen and Luke, Alphas of their own pack and younger brothers of Jude, who we've met in previous stories. They have a shared mate, Emma, who is a human and who isn't so sure about being shared. She feels the pull to both of her mates but feels more drawn to the personality and calm of Owen, which causes strife between the brothers.
Excellent spice, great continuation of the overall story arc. If you've enjoyed the To Be Claimed world, you'll enjoy this addition!
Part of The To Be Claimed Saga and we have twins Luke and Owen finally finding their mate - or her finding them!
Emma thinks she's after a story to bring the shifters and humans together, she doesn't realise she's going to be part of that because she is the mate to Luke AND Owen!
The guys have very different personalities and opinions which causes trouble when it comes to Emma.
Be prepared for steam, angst, intrigue and an overall storyline that will have you wanting more!
*I voluntarily received an arc and this is my honest review
I was so ready for Luke and Owens' story, and to say I loved it was an understatement, I can't put into words how good this book is. The raw heat, chemistry, and passion are undeniable, seperate its hotter than Hades but together!! Im surprised my Kindle didn't burn my fingers. I read it in one sitting, I felt every single emotion, my heart hurt, and from both pain and overwhelming love. It's another unputdownable read. I can't wait for what's to come next.
Well!!! This steamy pnr romance definitely packs a punch…of HEAT! Set in the shifter world we follow Jude’s brothers finding the one human woman they can’t resist. Journalist Emma wants proof that humans and shifters can live peacefully together. All her fantasies just might come true when she stumbles upon Owen & Luke. Can they share the one fates to be theirs or will jealousy come between them? Ice is needed for a cool down after this sizzling romp is read! Told in multiple POV
I am never disappointed with this author! Her stories are steamy and full of angst and this one is no exception.
Captive Desire is a paranormal werewolf standalone in the To Be Claimed World. Even as a standalone, I do recommend reading To Be Claimed either before or after this book to better understand what’s to come.
This story is about two werewolf brothers, Owen and Lucas, that find their human mate that they were both fated to share. Things don’t necessarily go smoothly when Emma realizes what fate has chosen for her and she wants to get back to normalcy. This story was action packed and I finished it in one sitting, it was hard to put down!
Willow Winters did it again! At this point I’m 100% sure I will like everything she writes!
In this story in the To Be Claimed saga we follow Owen & Luke who find their mate Emma who they obviously need to share! It’s a very very spicy book as they discover how to make this trio thingy work. I’m happy we have the back story of this couple now! It adds to the whole world and story Willow Winters is building and I can’t wait to see how things go further from now on!!
OMG!! This may have been the shortest book in the series, but man did I fly through this and want so much more!! Luke, Owen and Emma's story is the definition of complicated!
Emma knows in her heart there is more to werewolves than the Authority is letting on. She believes that wolves and humans can live amongst one another cohesively, but others feel that all supernatural beings should have less power than they do now. So, she sets out to find some werewolves she's been tracking to see if her theory is correct. Only what she found was something she never would expect. Mates!!
Luke and Owen are like fire and ice/ good vs the bad. They are twins and balance each other out completely. While Luke's wolf has a gorgeous white coat and Owen's is a darker black coat they are the opposite of what they should represent. Owen is the peacekeeper of the 2, he is more levelheaded, while Luke is more prone to anger and causing issues. This becomes an issue when first impressions mean everything. He hurts Emma this way and it's no wonder why she clings to Owen more. But for his wolf's sake can he fix his mistakes.
Captive Desires starts off intriguing and inviting while following Emma on her journey. Then in true Willow fashion things get smutty and dirty. Literally and metaphorically. I love how the guys may be twins but they are the complete opposite of each other and bring something different to the relationship. Even in the bedroom their styles are different, and it makes it just that much smuttier. But that final scene...oh my goodness...Emma is one lucky human. Like damn, that seemed like a good time with both the brothers...TOGETHER!!
Thank you, Willow Winters, for another amazing book in this series. I love how all these characters are intermingling but stand out in their own way. Each couple is fascinating, dirty, filthy and overall exciting. I love and hate how you ended things in Captive Desires because now I MUST HAVE Under His Reign! Mostly because of the creature you are going to introduce, and I want to know if my suspicions are correct.
Captive Desire is an electrifying, standalone paranormal romance that dives deep into the captivating world of the To Be Claimed Saga. Willow Winters, as always, delivers a spellbinding story that you won't be able to put down.
This book centers around twin brothers, Luke and Owen, and their mesmerizing mate. From the very beginning, you'll be hooked into this short yet sweet paranormal romance, and your emotions will take you on a wild ride. You'll find yourself both loving and screaming at the characters, which is a testament to Willow's storytelling prowess.
Prepare for a steamy journey into the world of shifters, where the brothers find themselves drawn to the one human woman they can't resist, journalist Emma. Her desire for proof that humans and shifters can coexist sets the stage for a scorching tale of passion and possession. As Owen and Luke enter the picture, their undeniable chemistry ignites, and the pages practically sizzle with their heat.
The multiple points of view in this story provide a well-rounded perspective, allowing you to delve into the minds of these enthralling characters. The raw intensity, blazing chemistry, and overwhelming passion will leave you breathless. Separately, Luke and Owen are hotter than Hades, but together? Well, let's just say you might need some ice to cool down after reading their story.
I devoured this book in one sitting, unable to tear myself away. Willow Winters masterfully weaves a tale that will make your heart ache and sing with love. Captive Desire is yet another unputdownable addition to this series, leaving me eagerly anticipating what Willow has in store for us next. Don't miss out on this scintillating paranormal romance!
Captive Desires is the most recent book in the To Be Claimed series. This time, the book centres on Alpha Twins Owen and Luke as they finally discover their human mate, Emma. Although the trio appeared in the previous novel, Broken Fate, reading the preceding volumes is not necessary to appreciate and comprehend this one. Despite being twins, Owen and Luke are possessive and envious of each other when it comes to having a partner. The guys have quite different personalities and viewpoints, which revealed problems when it came to Emma. I adored how each member of Owen and Luke's pack was a motley crew that was brought together. There were many types of shifters within the group; I kind of wish this aspect of the plot had been developed more. It would have been fascinating to learn more about them. Captive Desires was a lovely continuation of the larger story arc and had some wonderful spice. If you liked the To Be Claimed universe so far, you're going to enjoy this addition. I can't wait for Willow's next book in the series, Under His Reign, to bring some dragons into this universe.
“I’ve seen the way they touch the women and imagined myself on the stage. Being chosen. Offered, taken, and claimed. My core heats as the fantasy plays in my head. I snap my eyes open and cringe. I really need to get more AA batteries. My poor BOB (battery operated boyfriend) must be missing me.”
Willow- you are a GODDESS! If I haven’t said it enough, please know I’m singing your praises daily!
Now for my review of Captive Desires. Captive desires is part of the To Be Claimed series. This universe is full of the paranormal and with each book we get more and more of the world and its occupants. I love how Willow is putting all the pieces together. With Captive Desires, we get all the information about Owen, Luke and Emma. I am so thankful to have been able to get more of this backstory. How Owen and Luke found and claimed their mate. Emma is one lucky human. Of course, we got to meet them in Broken Fate, but I am so happy to now have the missing pieces of their past and how they all came together in place.
I love the “To Be Claimed” world, and the primal desire all these stories bring out in me. It’s the constant smut and learning all the little pieces of mates and claiming that has me… hooked.
I am hopeful to learn more about Charlotte and hopefully see her in her shifter form! And, I cannot wait for more information on these new shifters coming into town! Oh, I am undeniably ready for the next book in this series, “Under His Reign”. ♥️
If you’ve come across this review, and haven’t read “To Be Claimed”, please revert back and start at the beginning. This is definitely one series that you will want to know each and every moment of. It has it all. Shapeshifters, Humans, Vampires, Witches and now we have a new shifter coming into town! Want to know more about these new shifters? Well, you’ll just have to read the book. 😍
Oh my goodness ! Do . Not. Blink .Or . You’ll. Miss. it! That was was the paso doble / salsa of reading ( yes I used a dance reference thank you SCD) it was steamy , fast and passionate 🔥
Luke and Owen are twins , both are alphas and they’re the ebony and ivory of Dark Valley and (before I say this just know I’m happily married and adore my “alpha “ ) I’m ready to let my “she wolf”out to play 😉
Emma has an an enquiring mind , she has questions and she wants answers , she believes that despite popular beliefs , wolves and humans can live in harmony ….. off she goes into the deep dark woods ….🤣😉🐾🔥❣️
Slime and Owen really are ebony and ivory …. One is white and one is black ….one is calm and one is all fierce and fiery , one is level headed and the other not but these 2 are like piano keys , played right they make harmonious music and Emma is one fortunate mate 😉🔥
The ending will you leave you with questions and hungry for more 😉
First, I absolutely loved this book! Willow Winters does a fantastic job at creating such genuine chemistry between Emma, Owen, and Luke!
From the start of Captive Desire, you are thrown into the world of two gorgeous shifters and their fated mate. I love the connection and immediate chemistry portrayed between Emma and her guys.
This book was written beautifully and is perfect for this spooky season. If you're looking for a book you can read in one sitting, look no farther.
Although this book is a standalone, I would highly recommend reading all the books in this series. They are all amazing, and you'll fall in love with this world.
Let me just start by saying that i am not typically someone who enjoys novellas or paranormal/ fantasy romances at all . But Willows To Be Claimed Series really is the exception. Captive Desires is absolute perfection, a emotional rollercoaster that’s going to exceed all your expectations and leave you wanting so much more .fated mates , wolves , non stop action, MFM , erotic romance, twists and turns, angst , passion , love , drama , dark , raw , gritty and emotionally charged moments, secrets , mystery, witty banter , phenomenal world building, wonderfully written characters that are so unique and extremely multi layered. Emma , Luke And Owen man did I love these 3 together . They literally grabbed onto my heart from the very first page and refused to let go
To be fair, this is my first foray into Willow Winters and I'm told it was a bad choice to start out with it. I didn't hate it, but I read some books in between trying to put it off. I saw "standalone novella" and thought I'd enjoy a good quick read. So many things felt out of place or that I'd missed something and then I'd listen again and realize I didn't. I need to find some of her books that are more my style, maybe a little less werewolf drama. I enjoy the writing style to a degree but this one wasn't my cup of tea.
