Charlie Kleis is back, this time rolling through ancient Norway in a final attempt to find her father and save time itself so she can go home. Most of her automatons have turned against her and she and her friends have to fight through an apparently infinite number of “Beardos,” but she gains some unexpected allies, too—if shapeshifters can be trusted.

It’s nonstop action and suspense (with funny and touching reunions along the way) as Charlie meets her hero and plans an attack that immediately goes sideways … or does it? Charlie and her friends are smart, snarky companions in a story full of twists and clever references to mythology, leading to a satisfying surprise of an ending.
