It’s Earth vs. Aliens…and one teenager standing between them, in this new tale of terror and high-stakes science fiction! Growing up in the city of Compton is tough enough as it is, but as Travon has learned all too well, growing up as an orphan in the city of Compton with gang members hunting you down every day is even tougher. But all of that is about to change, because today is the day that aliens make first contact with Earth—and it only spells doom for life as we know it! Death, devastation, and mayhem—can a single teenage boy rise to the challenge and protect his surrogate family and friends…or will he die trying? From **RODNEY BARNES**, the star comics writer behind the Eisner-nominated series **KILLADELPHIA** and the writer/executive producer of HBO’s **_Winning Time_**, and up-and-coming Marvel artist **ALEX LINS** comes a tale of love, triumph, disaster, and defeat! **Collects MONARCH #1-6**
Rodney L Barnes has had the privilege to accomplish so much in a short time on Earth. At the age of forty-two and surviving a major traumatic brain injury, writing and publishing the book, My Miracle outlines and talks about experiences he had undergone that might contribute to the events in your life. From past to present, he had learned how to accept what life has to offer, not struggle with life. He was raised on the principles of ordinary life, take nothing for granted! Rodney now clearly understands those principles of living because of his development. Through events of his life, the accident, coma, and relearning life at twenty-one years of age, he has to give all these accomplishments to the Lord Jesus Christ. Rodney is praying for his book to get into the hands of people who need a source of comfort, strength, or knowledge to learn more how strong and powerful Jesus Christ is and can be. Visit him at Facebook.com/mymiraclethemovie and together, we all can help each other understand the meaning of life.
Rodney Barnes, Alex Lins, and Luis Nct absolutely kill it here. I didn’t expect to enjoy this one as much as I did, but wow! The story takes a bit of a turn from the synopsis of this book in a fantastic way and throughout this entire book, I’m overcome with emotion rooting for the main character with more care than I have with a lot of other books. Ideas of humanity, hope, goodness, abuse, love, death, fear, and redemption all factor in here in a big way. Perfectly fitting artwork and colors, as well! This one is thought provoking and heart warming in the best ways.
this had a really solid strong start, but it wrapped up too neatly and quickly in the last two issues.
we have an alien invasion, and a boy who has an identity crisis as he's forced to choose between his original family and his newfound family. the art was beautiful and the writing flowed nicely.
Good idea, good start, poor execution. I feel like the book needed a no nonsense editor. Like the writer just got lazy and stories seems to bounce around in a nonsensical manner
