um....
- felt like Urdu Wattpad story.
- Very long. (could've been, v.easily, shorter than this, had she not included info about all random tourist places and lambi lambi philosophy)
- Writing started badly > okayish > slow and draggy > good > Excellent.
- First half was written amateurly, it was visible (almost screamingly) - Writing in second half was way better and handled maturely. (I have given enough reasons before ((in updates)) why it was amateur)
- Not a concrete story arc (I'd even say plot) Very haphazard (which happens in most episodic novels)
- Character introduction was very shallow - OTT - and broke all rules of show-not-tell.
- About characters -
✦Zenia (our female lead, who talks sense but does otherwise)- A traditional girl from Balochistan family who wants to move to city, excel in life and have a lot of money. Apni tareefe kaafi karti hain. I couldn't connect or feel about her, bohot uncertain ladki thi, pal me tola pal me masha.
✦ Mehdi - (sabz aankho wala male lead) The only sane, sensible, understandable, excellently written character, with a proper character arc and development. Tourist hai wese janab, haa.. yehi hai woh jo jaha jaha jaate the, waha waha ke lambe lambe descriptions deke writer ne bore kiya hai. khair.
✦ kya naam tha inka, sach me zehen se nikal gaya... umm.. Qais yes. Qais kambeer (mehdi ke cousin sahab, troubled childhood, PTSD; ajeeb insan; apni mangetar ko arso ignore kiya (nahi, aakhir tak me wait karti rahi koi solid reason ka...nahi mila.. bohot hi bonge reasons the), jab usne kisi aur se shaadi ki toh janab "gairat ke naam pe kuch bhi" kehne aur karne wale insaan hai; apni family se bohot mohabbat karte hai..itni ke unka dam ghut jata hai; logo ko dhamkane ke saath saath Qatil bhi waq'e hue hai janab... Haanji. aur... dimaag aur dil ki ajeeb se ladai me ulajh jate hai around the mid of novel (it was shown beautifully tho), ofc jab unko hamari FL se mohabbat/ishq/pta nahi aur kya kya... haa, soulmate bhi (ek toh yeh soulmate itna ajeeb concept lagta hai mujhe, esp. haamre culture me... khair and then writer ne iske saath ek aur chiz bhi daali hai, woh yeh ki inki ruhe alam-e-arwah me mili thi, so...), haa toh me keh rahi thi ki dimag aur dil ki ladai hoti hai jisme ofc dimag hi jeet ta hai, bhale woh kitna bhi kahe mene dil ke aage haar mani hai, nahi. Let me not get started on jab haqiqat me aap kisi se mohabbat karte ahi toh aapka rawaiyya kesa hona chahiye) Brilliant Mind hai, smart hai, IQ wagera bhi kuch high hai.. kitna I forgot; Ache kaam karne se zayada mowsoof apne aap ko yaqeen dilate rehte/samjhte rehte hai ke me acha kaam kar raha hu. All in all, nicely written and handled character, it was possible to go haywire with this kind of character (good job there writer!). Aur Inko grey character samjhne walo ko toh me ab kya hi kahu, pure black canvas pe agar chand bright white splashes dalde, toh kya woh grey hojayega? nahi, woh black with li'l white hi rahega. And the girls going ga ga over Qais, Get well soon.
- Uske baad, secondary/side characters hai:
Schezel: Zenia ki friend hai, again sensible character, well written, iske bina toh pata nahi kitni bewakufiya karti zeniya.
- Buraaq - irritating ajeeb OTT character - not writing about him.
- Bashar - Supportive brother of zeniya, jiske morals dagmagate rehte hai, but overall acha insaan hai.
- Kunj - zeniya's sis, who's obsessed with zeniya. Haneen yusuf ki bholi bhali copy lagi mujhe.
- Ek police officer hai, whose name I'm forgetting now, but he was nice too.
- aur bhi kaafi hai... cause lambi novel hai, but nothing outstanding about them.
- Only ending is making me give this 3 stars. And Ending was handled so well! (Had she not ended the way, it wouldn't have got any)

About whether I'd recommend it or not: umm... I'd say read it, but feel free to skip/skim through all the parts which feels boring to you, don't feel pressurized to read each and every philosophy, and you won't really miss anything.

Random comments while reading:
100 pages in... And it's umm... getting boring bcoz of its slow pace, and giving descriptions of Greece and Santorini and some random house tour, like I need to know characters first, not their homes, please?
Will read ahead anyways... Let's see.

I would not wish this monstrosity of a book upon anyone. No- at least not anyone i like. Kisi ko tadpa tadpa ke marna ho to khushi se recommend kren🥰

I’ll start with the positive, this book could use an alternative name -“The Qais’s show” .Because the only worth reading thing in this entire book was Qais. Until his character went to down hill that is. I LOVED qais and mahdi’s relationship. A LOT. I loved Bashar’s character(h’s brother) this book had something that even after wanting to dnf it at 800 something pages, I could not make myself stop reading this! And the entire credit goes to qais. Sadly these were the only good bit.

Now asli review😭🤚🏼- this book? It’s like ghisa pita turkish drama with misunderstandings upon misunderstanding. Miscommunication upon miscommunication. Where you’d want to rip your hair out outta frustration but the miscommunication would not end! And WHY EVERYONE IS A LIER OR A SECRET KEEPER IN THIS BOOK!???? No one talks to each other no one discuss anything with each other no one shares anything with each other. Every single thing needs to be top secret. And because of that, all the things turned into cluster fuck! Sab ek doosre se jhoot bolo, ek doosre se cheezen chupao aur doosre pe bharosa na kro fir readers be like headless chicken 2000 pages wait kren ki kab aapas m ye log seedhe muh baat krenge. And I’m not exaggerating, it literally took 2000 fucking pages to everything align(apparently not everything tab bhi.). Every imaginable ittfaq happened with these characters, and they’d do something unforgivable without knowing it aur fir woh raaz 2000 pages baad jaake khulega, woh bhi ek hi character ke samne bakio ke liye aur 500 pages padho. Like- ek blunder fir doora fir teesra, mtlb i wanted to hit my head on the wall!

This was totally a character centric book. Plot was secondary from the start. Pehle m hamari zeniya baji(h) pe aa jati hun. She was typical padhi likhi jahil with “I’m not like other girl” attitude. I personally HATE people and characters who think they are the real shit.she was selfish . Badtameez. Arrogant to no end from the start. At least the author established towards the end that she was not “perfect” as she believed herself to be.(another positivity in this book- yay! M koyele m se heera nikalna ka fan janti hun🥹) tbh I never once felt sorry for her, because iss jese jhoote overconfident unreliable untrusting and arrogant people deserves to suffer like she did🤌🏼 not what qais did with her towards the end but besides that everything she had it coming. Baji did everything herself she accused qais and mahdi of. Every time she lectured them it was like pot talking to the kettle.

Now mahdi- hamara hero(?) ,was he really? Agar end k 2-4 lovey dovey scenes hata diye jaye to he gave me bade bhai wli vibes. He was such a beta😭 i liked him just fine but as a MMC? Gimme a break. His and zeniya
Relationship felt like bhai bhen bantering till atleast 1700-1800 pages.(itne pages m ek fantasy trilogy khtm ho jaye.) there was 0% spark between them. She had the same relationship with her own brother lol. Spoilerish- the nikah nama signature scene was the turning point- or should i say downfall of this novel? Before that there was no implication that there could be a romantic relationship between them. It could have been anyone. Literally anyone, if it had been qais then the entire face of this novel would be different. Mahdi bhai was exactly like qais. Okay maybe the grey was bit lighter in his character. But wasn’t doodh ka dhula as he was portrayed. It’s just that he didn’t get the chance to get his hands dirty. Whenever he got the chance he reacted exactly like qais. When ran the company for 2 days, he brutally destroyed his opponents. And I quote him tryna be Hashim OG kardar by saying- 10 baar moka mila 10 baar yahi krunga *bombastic side eye** (bhai muh dho kar aayen pehle, aya bada hashim kardar banne) when he got caught in the difficult situation when his traveler friend betrayed him and his career was about to fall down he reacted exactly like qais would- he tried to lure him into the trap. And he got him killed. When he got to know about baalaj’s(zeniya’s first husband) death he concealed it from everyone to save his brother. Even from his wifey lol. He fired 3 people when they didn’t listen to him in his house even tho he knew they were ordered by qais to not help zeniya, it’s a trivial thing but he did fire them like qais did to his employees. The only different thing about him than qais was that he felt remorse after doing the bad thing. Maybe that makes all the difference but for me it’s like 900 chuhe kha ke billi haj ko chali.

Now- man of the year- Qais. He had such a fine aura. He was a leading man. He ran the show. Just because i wanted to read about him ,I endured the traumatic experience of reading this book. He was a complicated character. His character keeps you on your toes, you never could guess what would be his next move. I’m not saying he was a good person , he was not. He was definitely a killer but in the society this plot in situated in, wahah gherat ke naam pe sab ek doore ke khandan ko qatl kr dete hen and no one bats an eyelash. Even the victim party justify it, they surely take revenge afterwords but accept it nonetheless. To ese main i did not find him “killer killer” because the entire society was flawed it was not “maala” and qais was not “mahir fareed”.
I would not want a man like that in my life. but as a character he was phenomenally fascinating until mahdi and zeniya got married. Until then if i had not known before hand (thanks to bookstagram spoilers🙂) that mahdi is the MMC it would’ve been the shock for me that she married mahdi instead of qais. They had aag chemistry from the first meeting. He was a balanced character of white and black but after 1500-1600 pages idk what happened with him. He turned into toxic majnoo ashiq, THAT WAS SOO OUT OF CHARACTER! Like the man I was obsessed with for 1500 pages did not exist.initially he was narcissistic. Arrogant. Nonchalant. Selfish. And misogynistic person. how the hell could he fall in love with zeniya? Woh bhi iss had tak that he tried to neutralise his family? The qais i was introduced to and knew would never choose a woman over his family. It sounds bad but it’s true. And not to mention that she never implied that she reciprocated his feelings ? He was so serious towards his fiancé (lol) from the start that he could not even let mahdi take her name. And then him turning into a totally black character? I was not ready for that. I’m sorry but I couldn’t digest the butchering of his layered character. It was like author painted him black. Clear cut. And from there he turned into the toxic man who could not take “no” for an answer and ruined everything associated to him.

Hence- read 2660 pages, ik mahdi will come and do something spectacular and steal the show. But at this point I don’t give two shits about the ending. I would like to officially apologise to nemrah baji for bashing her because how she stretched maala. Because it was stretched yes, but maala ka stretched bhi masterpiece moments and plot twists wala tha but iski streching ne mujhe 2 safed baal de diye👍🏼.
My 2024 one of the best read was by this author (Bakht) i loved it so much that i am eagerly waiting for it’s physical copy to launch in india. had great expectations from bismil but-
Ugh.

So first, he confesses his love to her, but when she rejects him, he throws her in jail because she marries his brother due to certain circumstances. Then, when he finds out about the marriage, he kills his brother and frames her for the murder, saying she killed him! Alright… and then he goes to jail just to blackmail her again. Somehow, she escapes from jail and goes missing, but then…

He stands in front of the media and says this about her:

"It was an accident. (The most beautiful one) Everything became chaotic with her arrival. (She fixed everything.) She was a deceitful woman. (I considered her lies more credible than the truth.) I pray that no man encounters a woman like her in his life. (Where can anyone find someone like her?) I don’t know where she is now.( Just once, if I could be aware of her presence.) She should not come back. (I wish she would return.) She was the dark chapter of my life. (And black is my favorite color.) I have moved on. (My heart, however, is left behind.) I don’t want to talk about her now. (Because mentioning her takes me two and a half years back, to when I lost her.) Her story ends. (I end)”

When he finally met her after 2 and a half years he still have audacity to say this;

“Did you get scared seeing me?” He asked very softly. A softness that could calm anyone’s heart.

“Why are you scared? Did I say something? I’m just here to talk, I won’t bother you, relax.”

He bent down and took Zeminia’s cold hand in his own. A deep sigh escaped from Qais’s lips. It was as if he had found heaven, like how sinners are granted paradise.

And thennn…….

"Whatever happened... it shouldn't have been this way. What you had to endure because of my anger was wrong. I want to apologize for all of it." Zainiya blinked. There wasn't even a trace of shame in him.

"So you're saying that if given the chance, you'd go back in time and treat me better?"
"No... actually yes, if you don't repeat those mistakes."
"And if, according to you, I do repeat those 'mistakes'?"

"Even then, I would wish to go back in time and add even more disgrace and lessons to what I did, so that two and a half years later, when I meet you again, you'd think a hundred times before bringing up those mistakes. Betrayal and shamelessness are festering wounds—they must be uprooted entirely. Maybe I fell short somewhere." He regretted it.
WHAAT—

I honestly don’t know how to write a review for this, but I was in tears by the end because of him. He’s the best villain after Hashim, and nothing will change my mind it’s 101% true!

BTW THATS JUST ABOUT ONE CHARACTER and I don’t know what to write for others!!!

Kuch log Bismil hote hai, ya yun kahe ki har insaan hi bismil hota hai, hum sab me ek incomplete circle hota hai jisse pura karne ke liye hum log kissi bhi had tak ja sakte hai.
Bismil kahani hai gunahun ki , mafiyun ki , farista sifat insaanun ki.

Kabhi bhi kissi ka pehle impression unka last nahi hota, bismil Insaan hai, har insaan me hi kamiyan hoti hai, lakin hum insaan apne trauma se bade hote hai. Hum khud ko aziyat daite hai kyuki hum usse daini ki salahiyat rakhte hai

Aur Insaan, Insaan tu hota hi Surkh hai , Qais Khambeer ki tarah.

Asal zindagi me Mehdi Khambeer jaise faristain nahi hote hai, ye afsanwi kidrar asal zindagi me lagu kahan hote hai, Asal zindagi me hamare liye sehzade kahan ate hai.

SATISFIED ENDING is jaisi koi cheez nahi hoti, kyuki har ek jang ke baad us jang se jude log Bismil ban jate hai same thing happened with Qais Mehdi and Zeniya. Both Mehdi and Zeeniya are Incomplete even though they have each other, you can't ignore the bond my boys shared.

Qais Qais Qais I'm colour blind when it comes to you honestly. When he died I thought bas abhi kuch hoga aur Qais kahin se bahar ajayegha , aisa nahi hua, Qais mar gaya.

Bakiyun se mujai koi laina daina nahi hai kyuki Qais chala gaya.

I'm in trauma.

Is kahani ke har ek shaq bismil tha lakin Qais ne Azazeel se Ibless tak ka safar kiya tha, wo ek Asal bismil bana.

Aur Zeeniya , hum ladkiyan kuch nahi Zeeniya Hakim ban jati, kyu nahi galat ke khilaf sawal uthati, hum sab me Zeeniya bane ki capabilities hai lakin hum Goonj Hakim hi kyu bana chahte hai. Apne morals high rakhne aur Faisle karen.

* Please don’t read next if you haven’t read the novel. It may have some spoilers *

Firstly let's talk how the book focused on childhood traumas shaping one's personality. That was epic. And the plot twist in the first half of book was also toe curling. The palpitating tension between Mehdi, zeeniya & qais was everything (couldn't hate qais hear me out---) In side characters kunj's character was inspiring. And in the ending sheezal & wadyan's relationship was cute. Now the points that annoyed me. The book started out amazing. There was tension, there was curiosity, there were twists until after 1000 pages when the storyline became repetitive and dragged. I noticed few plot holes and whilst the ending was complete & like the perfect showdown the middle part was exaggerated. And there were many points I couldn't connect or relate to because they became quite unrealistic. In order to understand the story and characters, I need to connect to them and I couldn't do that at times. Mehru has been and always be my auto buy author. Bismil carried so many lessons and if you've read it you'll know what messages mehru tried to deliver.

I AM UNWELL. NEED 2 3 BUSINESS DAYS TO RECOVER

I had very low expectations from this novel ngl, and in the beginning everything was very slow and boring but these 5 stars are for Qais Kambeer and Qais kambeer only. I’ve never read about a character that I HATE and LOVE sm at the same time, I read reviews of people saying that he resembles hashim kardaar and I thought that’s not possible but now I feel like somebody stabbed me in the back and now is trying to heal me. Qais is the most grey character I’ve ever read, he will make you want to kill him and then in the next scene he will make you want to hug him. I’m not okay right now.

Side note: NO I DIDN’T WANT ZEENIYA AND QAIS TO BE TOGETHER, QAIS IS AN ULTIMATE RED FLAG AND ZEHDI ARE THE MOST PERFECT COUPLE EVER!! I JUST LOVE THE CHARACTER QAIS.

Now for the things that I didn’t like:
- zeeniya haakim. She was the most dumb character of this book who claimed to be a know-it-all but ended up making the most stupidest decision in her life while still claiming to be miss perfect. She was insufferable.

- the grammar mistakes, read this novel in a pdf and the mistakes were just annoying.

- zeeniya and mehdi got their nikah done without zeeniya having a wali present, since zeeniya didn't have a proper rukhsati and did not have to go through the iddat period idk the sharia laws around that

- the novel could’ve easily been way shorter, all those ted talks of mehdi were very boring ngl and many other sub plots that could’ve been avoided

- the 2 year gap between mehdi and zeeniya was not needed at all, specially when there was no major character development in those years.

- koonj basically cheated on her fiance zaigham. Now if this was the opposite I would’ve NEVER forgave zaigham no matter what the reason so I think the author should’ve avoided bringing cheating into this whole situation

Ps: not to say I didn’t like anything, Koonj hakim is my baby and I will protect her at all costs. We all need a brother like Bashar. And uff my parental trauma made me bawl out at certain scenes and gave me a new inspiration. Also I noticed how as the novel kept going the writing style kept getting better and better and ofc QAIS KAMBEER.💗

(I don't know how I am still not able to review this even after weeks.)

I started reading Bismil when the first episode was released. OMG, I love how Mehar gives impressions of characters that turn out to be totally opposite.
5/5 ! (update: now it's 3.5/5, why? I read episodically, but it's too long and dragged, can't even think to reread plus some more things)

What does Bismil mean? It means "Wounded". Every character bears wounds from their pasts. Read to know more....

Okay, wait, before heading on, CAN WE GIVE PRAISE TO THE WRITER FOR HER WRITING? How poetically she wrote makes the reader hooked till the end. The dialogue delivery and scene description. I saw Mehar's progress in this project, totally mind-blowing.
The story plots are in Gwadar, Islamabad, and then in Bangladesh. The two reputed families of Baloch had a rivalry for a long time, the Nawabs vs the Kambeers. Because of some inner conspiracies, an accident occurred that changed the lives of our characters and became their lifetime trauma.
Bismil also highlights the ignorant practices followed by some tribal peoples against the Islamic laws, mostly sacrifices of women known as
Ah, there are many tropes-

Zeeniya Hakim:
She seems to be irritated at the start- superior complex tha kinda make her pick me.
Zeeniya, the Baloch girl, is beautiful, rude (ye strong dikhany ke chakar me badtameez wala concept...), egoistic, and a perfectionist, wearing a "strong girl" mask but inside just a tooti hoi larki, hate sympathy, rony se ziada solution nikalny pe focused, etc
"مسائل سے پہلے اس کے باس حل آیا کرتے تھے"
Well, how dramatically did her life take turns, and how dramatically did she face it (LOL). She is Bismil. Wounded by her family, her father, and her fiancé. People always see her as ideal for them and wanna be like her, strong and passionate. But who knows about the wishes she suppressed deep inside her wounded heart?
"وہ اتنی مضبوط تھی کہ اسے دیکھ کر ترس آتا تھا"

Oh, she is a good photographer and mechanic- Zeeniya ki kholi hoi machine wo khud bhi nhi jor sakti thi.

For me it wasn't Mehdi vs Qais, it was always Zeeniya vs Qais. When Qais took revenge and tried to humiliate her in front of the whole media, blah blah, I was impressed how she didn't even think of him as worthy to spit on him. She maintained her dignity and never ever looked back at him.

Mehdi Kambeer:
MY MOST FAVORITE MAN, a green flag with green eyes. The gentleman, kind, caring, loving, cute- How can someone hate a person like him? He is a traveler who almost travels to 57 countries, a motivational speaker.
"مہدی کو لوگ ہانٹ نہیں فیسینیٹ کرتے ہیں"

I saw readers saying that Mehdi is fake, he lies on stage to people, he pretends, he help others but fails to stand up for himself against his family. He encourages others to heal their trauma, and break free from toxic environments but can't get himself out of his past traumas and toxic patterns (Qais-). Yet, despite his struggles, Mehdi remains hopeful and continues to support others. What could be better than providing moral support? He truly is the best. No matter how sad he may feel, he always strives to spread positivity. He is not someone like the sadistic devil who, due to his traumas, makes others’ lives HELL. So, who is better?
Green wound, Mehdi was the biggest BISMIL, everyone has someone to blame for their pasts and wounds, but my shayla was alone. He was used as a punching bag from childhood, no one was there to listen to him, he was bullied, harassed, and his own family treated him badly. Then he finds escape, he becomes a stage speaker, and thousands of people listen to him, love him, and admire him.
And omg, the cutesy romance-
Aw, I love how Mehdi took stand for his wife, never ever let anyone raise a finger on her.
"You are my green" Uwuwuw

Qais Kambeer:
He is a famous fashion designer, who doesn't design female attire. Devilishly handsome with curly hair. (acha theek hai)
Oh, He is a dark shade of red flag, toxic, narcissist, manipulator, murderer, abuser, loves to play the victim card, human with God complex, etc
How shaatir he is? Omg, the conspiracies he throws, laval hai bhai-
"بلندیوں کی سمت کیونکہ مجھے اسی لیے بنایا گیا ہے"

Sometimes, you are attached to a character, and seeing him walking through the path of destruction is so heartbreaking, you know where the path leads, and what end is waiting for him, it will shatter him, so you want to stop him (slap him) and turn his direction right, but you can't. Bearing and witnessing the pain of the character, the tears fell...…
Qais Kambeer is the one for me!
No, I won't ever justify his doings, because he is wrong from the start (and we all knew it haina?).

(and i am not 'shah-e-parast')

Some side characters?
Koonj Hakim:
Everyone deserves a transition like her <3

Sheizal:
She taught us that love isn't always meant to have a happy ending. Don't put yourself in a toxic relationship despite loving your partner, BREAK UP AND RUN!

Waryam Baig
Pookie, literally made me laugh too hard sometimes. I love Sheizal and his coupleee TvT

Buraq:

This novel was literally a complete test to my patience like IT WAS DRAGGED SO MUCH!!! I had to listen the audiobook to end this torture. Also, the characters??? Zeeniya had all the Zumar's adapted dialogues like "woh ro nahi sakti thi" something like this, the comfort zone thing, Zeeniya mar jaati hai maaf nahi karti and there were more. It felt like she was trying to be Zumar, but failed terribly. Also, eventhough I loved Mehdi only in leads, but his whole jail incident was so like Saadi's jail scenes like his first murder. I mean bro, it felt like I am reading cheap version of Namal. The ending line of Qais when he was dying was also copy of Umar Jahangir's last line "zehan pe Zeeniya ki tasweer ayi or is ka saans atka or phir Mehdi usay galay laga raha tha" like wth?

Other than all this things, why was there so much miscommunication and misunderstandings? I hated Zeeniya's character, eventhough what she went through was so tragic, but her rules and regulations were only for others. Mehdi ke saath aisay baat karti thi jesay uska khareeda hua koi ghulam ho eventhough that man literally loved her more than anything jab ke Qais ko is aurat ne sar pe bitha ke rakha hua tha itni zalalat ke bawajood bhi. Is bandi ki naseehatain sirf doosron ke liye hain khud ko shayad exceptional samajhti thi. Also, the way she kept saying talaq de do talaq de do like behan tum kiya pagal wagal ho? Woh banda paglon ki tarah tumhain manata phir raha hai, har waqt zaleel hota rehta hai still you are being this ungrateful? She made me so frustrate.

Mehdi was the only character who didn't frustrate me a bit, instead the only character I loved the most. This man suffered same as Qais, but more than that. He had every right to turn into a villian but he didn't. The way he tolerated Qais and Zeeniya's behaviour banday 1000 topon ki salami do. Mai hoti tou dono ko chor ke chali jati. He was so innocent or isi ka faida log uthatay rahay hain.

Ab aya real shaitan, Qais Kambeer. Those who justify this man, need to have an appointment from a psychiatrist. He was justified till he killed Hatim but after when he got to know Zeeniya's real identity, he went psycho. His inner animal came out and he was no more worthy of any sympathy. I LITERALLY ABHORE, LOATHE, HATE, DISGUST this man, especially what he did to Zeeniya was the straw for me to curse him every second. Also, the way Mehrunnisa kept making creating sympathy for him was so bad like it felt like she was justifying him till the end.

Shezil and Waryam were my most favourite as a couple because there was respect and love from both sides, unlike Zeeniya and Mehdi where only Mehdi was putting efforts.

Koonj and Zaigham too were cute.

Bashar was a good brother, eventhough kahin na bhatak jata tha but he took good steps for his steps, unlike Hakim.

If someone would ask me ke mai ye novel recommend karoongi to someone, so I will immediately say no. Fazool time waste hai, exclude my Mehdi Pookie Kambeer's scenes. 3200+ pages can easily be wrapped up in 1500 pages.

What a Novel!

This book talks about real issues that many people, especially today’s generation faces and gives advice on how to deal with them Most importantly, it reminds you that even if you feel alone, Allah is always with you.

For me, Konj and Zenia had the greatest character growth. Mehdi at firstseemed perfect, but we later see he’s just human like everyone else. Zenia started out full of herself, similar to Qais, but I ended up liking her as she grew and learned from her mistakes. Shezal was the perfect best friend

From the beginning, I wanted Mehdi and Zenia to be together, and I’m glad they did. Their conversations were fun and their relationship after Qais was written very well. I loved how the book showed that marriage isn’t just love and a fairytale ending. It’s hard work, with ups and downs, and requires both partners to put in effort and understand that both are human and can make mistakes. Qais and Zenia’s relationship felt like obsession, not love. If qais wasn't a villain, they could have been best friends, perfect duo.

Qais Qambeer!! Ultimate villain!! I deeply sympathise with him. He faced heel but stood tall. When Hudaibia betrayed him it was truly sad. His past was worse but he chose not to heal. If life gave him hell he gave it back. He was stubborn, he owned narcissism though.
If only he used his perfect IQ to see the people who loved him..
He is a villain he couldn't be a hero. Why? because reality check!! no one wants hot headed, narcissistic, control freaks as partner.

It’s more than just a story for me. It's highly recommended!

p.s deleted my original review by mistake so reposting.

I'm giving this book a solid 2.5 star , the book just keep getting longer and I believe author dragged so many things that were not part of the story out of nowhere. I didn't like the انداز بیاں whatsoever
Girl , I was expecting it to be more poetic not end every line with " had nhi „ 🙏🏽
& There were little to no plot twists , in genre " thriller „ was also mentioned and what's a thriller without plot twist? Like biryani without chicken ~
There was good side of the story too , & I like the fact that characters had flaws , like humans they said something and did entirely opposite of what they said, they tried to " change „ but fell deeper into the abyss.
As a student of psychology the portrayed of trauma specifically PTSD wasn't entirely right. It was said that Qaid couldn't forget ANYTHING , he remembers EVERY. SINGLE. DETAIL. the brain doesn't remember the past as it was , it creates its own story. And especially in PTSD , brain's job is to help you survive if you remember every single detail you won't be able to do that. So your brain manipulates your own memories. & Trauma gets stored in your body.
Overall the story was ok the msg was good but I won't want to read it ever again , at times I had to force myself to read.

so basically I wasted my 3 hours to read quaternary of this book.. I wish I could get my time back.
Few points
1.There is potential but its all over the place.
2.Too much details get so boring
3. Main lead are confused and they were shown to be very smart but act super dump. "zenia ko wajdan hote hein" awain e ..
4. Plot has big holes and if some of the characters were giving there own short storied that would have been better.
5. Every one has secrets and they dodnt talk to each other. ajeeb

DNF for me.

DNF'ED

The amount of unnecessary details wanted me to bang my head fr. It had 3600 pages and it feels like those classic's writers who were paid for every single world that's why it turned out so long. You can definitely skim read this book tho because plot was good also I feel like qais is literally romaticised at times like how many times are you gonn mention Zeenia and him are soultmates, I don't think it's the right move to call them soulmates when they were engaged since childhood and Qais is going crazy after him but whatever I hate him.

if there weren't unnecessary scenes and details and it was a 1000 pages book it would be one of my favorites. Mehdi and Zeenia's characters were amazing but I can't read more of this anymore maybe sometime later when I am too free. 💀

The writers need to stop filling pages and just focus on the plot.

Story was good but it could've been better if there was less gayan in it .. idk why writers put this much gayan in their story like if we want that we can read self help books then .. please kahani ko kahani rehne dia kro.

Otherwise storyline was good , characters were okay but Mehdi's character should've been a lil more better. He's the hero , I wanted to simp over him but I was swooning over varyam more than Mehdi .

And Qais , the manipulator, he was so hot, cool and I fell in love with him. The last chapter was full of qais and I loved it .. his playlist was awesome, his akhri khat to zenia was so well written, but what he did with Mehdi at the end i was so mad at him but at the same time I was crying for him ...

Zenia's character was gayani ... Her words and actions didn't match at some times. She was so dumbly strong .. at a lot of points writer showed her being strong but I thought she was being dumb.

The best part of this novel for me was definitely qais .. 🖤

But why do we keep liking the characters who are actually the villains? Why do we romanticize them?”
August 3, 2025
(Shoutout to the Specie who made me read this book otherwise i woudve read it in the next century🙏🏻)

Hm!
First i was too broke to even write about it. Then i was even more broke to even talk about it and then i thought just give it a time and i think its time i should write my thoughts.
I believe i wont do justice writing review about this book. Because it was really a rollercoster (wtever the spelling is) of emotions. There were so many characters, relations , ups and downs. At some point i was exhausted. Why?
•Because it was too lengthy! (-ve point ig)
•too dragged for a reader Who enjoys short urdu books nvm🙏🏻
📌
Okay, so the whole booksta was saying Qais is a villain, villain, and villain. But is he really a villain? At the start, no. At the end, yes!
No doubt Qais Zaman Kambeer has شر in his nature. But who put that شر in him? A kid around 12 or 13 was taken by his father Zaman Kambeer to a Jirgasss where they discuss ajeeb o ghareeb topics. undoing someone, snatching lands from people. So what were they even expecting? What would that kid learn from those Jirgahs? Honesty? Positivity?
All those bad traits that شر he picked up from those Jirgah men those ajeebo ghareeb mard sitting there. Then that murder happened and the end result we got is Qais. Isn’t it?
But do we really think Qais was the only villain? I dont think so. Zaman Kambeer, Alam Nawab, Hatim Nawab, Bakhtyar Kambeer, Buraq Haneef and after all of them, we got the biggest one Qais Zaman Kambeer.
There’s no doubt injustice happened to Qais too. I wont justify what he did he had no right to do so but I also cant bring myself to hate him.
The author made him a villain and then, at the end, turned him into a victim. If she wanted, she could’ve left him as just a villain not a victim. But anyways he apologized at the end, which honestly was just another trick. My god this man 😭🙏🏻 he was something else ngl. (Iloveyounomatterwhat)
I can write more about Qais but let it be.
📌
Mehdi and zeeni fr deserved each other they suffered and they got the best. They wont even need my words the whole booksta community already loves em enough.🩷
📌
Buraq. What a shit person r you man? Like literally You were sleeping with some random girl just one night before your wedding like… really? And the AUDACITY of this mf to say He deserves Shezal. Bro youre CRAP. But at the end ohh so depressed asshole. Chal bhgg yhn se. Laanat bhjrhi hun men is shaks pr. Sbse neech. (Depressed, neech, crap, gobeshyt mf)
📌📌📌
But I wanted to appreciate Qais that after taking revenge from every single character, he was actually trying to make things right for them. He kept trying and trying to turn that mansion into a happy place. He married Aneesa to a good person, gave Meerah a chance to grow, took care of Maqsood Chacha, and then Aizel omg the scene where he literally begged Zeeni to stop Aizel from becoming another Qais Kambeer💔💔💔💔
That broke me. He actually confessed to Zeeni that she’s such a noble woman and he wanted her to raise Aizel 😭 because Aizel’s attitude, the way she spoke, her whole mizaj it was just like Qais. And Qais didnt want her to become like him. Omg Qais 💔😭
He left everything behind my god💔 At least the ending should have been him leaving everything and moving somewhere else. But no he chose himself over anything. My my Qais 😭❤️‍🩹
📌
At last,
Habib, Hudaibia 😭 the most loyal person. The right hand of Qais. I wanted her for Qais I really did. Qais shouldve married her😭 she had the guts to handle him. But anyways
Qais should’ve gone somewhere with Habib, but no till the very end Qais kept testing Habib’s patience.
What didn’t she do for him??? For every wrong thing, she stepped forward just so her boss’s hands wouldnt get dirty so Qais wouldnt be blamed. The most loyal, the most pure Hudaibia🩷😭
And in the end, Qais gave the last task to our Hudaibia. What must she have gone through? Why didn’t Qais ever realize her worth😭
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thats it. I wanted to get done reviewing it and Im done. I know i missed ALOT of things but this is what ive in mind and thats all. I just want to move on from this book which is quite difficult!

THE CHARACTERS ARE JUST TOO IRRATIONAL TO EVEN TALK ABOUT *I won’t waste my more time for this novel but just remember this ‘zeeniya is the pettiest female character you can ever read. She doesn’t deserve to be called protagonist.’
THIS NOVEL IS TOO BELOW THE BELT THAT I CAN’T EVEN FINISH READING IT. ALSO THIS DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR.

Writer’s Note
This is not the first novel I’ve read from this author. I’ve already read Bakht, and it remains one of my absolute favourites. Honestly, I’m not someone who enjoys suspense or waiting for twists. Even with movies, I first read the whole story before watching—it’s the only way I can enjoy it. Main bohat hi besabr insaan hoon. But after reading Urdu novels, I feel like I’ve actually learned sabr. The way the author writes, the way she builds her stories—it’s so powerful that I truly appreciate her work.

About the Book
This book is not just a story—it teaches a lot. Parenting, trauma, generational customs… how good parenting can make or break a child’s future, how abusive parents leave scars that last a lifetime, and how toxic traditions should be broken instead of blindly followed.

It shows us how parents’ love and affection give children strength, while abuse traps them in cycles of trauma. It also highlights how abusive marriages often repeat themselves as patterns—and how courage is needed to finally break them.

Honestly, this novel is long, but every page is worth it. The lessons it leaves behind stay with you.

Characters

Bashar – What a great brother and husband! His character development and his bond with his wife were really sweet. He always tried to protect his sisters and family. Of course, he couldn’t confront his father about the abuse towards his mother—and I understand that. A lot of kids can’t. But still, he stood strong, broke baseless traditions, and fought to protect his sisters. I genuinely liked him.

Balaj (Zeeniyas’ first husband) – Kya khabees insaan tha yaar! Honestly, when he died, it was the most satisfying part of the novel. Some may argue Qais is worse than him, but people still love Qais and hate Balaj. Why? I’ll explain when I talk about Qais. As for Balaj, he deserved what he got.

Zaigham – Another one of my favourite characters! The way he stood by Koonj, Zeeniya, and the entire family—even after losing his own brother—was heart-touching. He never blamed anyone, never used anyone for his pain. His bond with Koonj was simply adorable. Both of them were simping for each other in the cutest way possible. Their happy ending made me so happy too.

Koonj – This girl has my heart. At first, during her teenage phase, her impulsive behaviour irritated me. But then I realized—it was trauma speaking. And honestly, I got motivation from her character. Her growth, her self-control, her struggle to break her own patterns—hats off! She truly became one of my favourites.

Shezal – One word: amazing. She’s an independent, fearless girl. The guts she had to leave Buraq at the altar—uff! A lot of people would compromise, thinking “log kya kahenge.” But she chose herself, proved that self-respect matters more than society. Love her for that!

Waryam – Too cute, honestly! I loved his character and his pairing with Shezal. They’re made for each other. Their cute banters, their flirty moments—it was all so sweet.

Neema – I know not many people talk about her, but honestly, she played such an important role in Zeeniya’s life. She understood Qais on a deeper level, and her suggestions to Zeeniya were never wrong. She was one of those strong, silent female characters who may not be the “main face,” but her presence really mattered.

Buraq – I honestly feel sad for him. His whole life was a lesson in how parenting shapes a child. The way his own father used him, treated him, deprived him of love and guidance—it pushed him towards darkness. Initially, I liked his bonding with Qais and Mehdi; they were real friends, standing together in good and bad times. But again, elders’ mistakes became youngsters’ burdens.

At the same time, no matter how much sympathy I have, I can’t ignore his choices. He always said Shezal was important to him, but still cheated on her. The audacity, bro! He could have become someone better if he had fought his demons, but instead he chose his own downfall. So, no offense, but he got exactly what he brought upon himself.

There are still so many characters worth mentioning—Meera, Aizel, Zeeniya’s parents, and many more—but abhi patience nahi hai yaar. So I’ll stick to writing about the main ones.

Zeeniya – Honestly, she’s an okay character for me. At the start, she was super irritating, bro. Like, before the problem even appeared, madam already had the “solution.” She carried this vibe of “I’m great, I’m superior, rest are just normal people.” Jo duniya ke liye haram hota, woh Zeeniya ke liye halal ban jata.

But then, life gave her a hard slap, and things started crumbling. It felt really bad seeing her suffer so much—like, kyun itna ho raha hai iske sath? Still, a tiny part of me (maybe 2%) felt she brought some of it on herself. Her overconfidence really dragged her into trouble.

That being said, she suffered the most—to the extreme. I cried while reading about her pain. Yet, her character development was powerful. And her love for Mehdi—uff, so pure! She might not be my favourite heroine, but I don’t hate her either. In fact, I learned a hell lot of things from her journey.

Mehdi – Now this man is the real green flag! So sweet, so pure. At first, I thought he was just a side character, maybe some second hero the writer added for balance. Even the story didn’t highlight him much in the beginning. But as the chapters progressed—especially towards the end—his arc really shone.

The way he endured his own traumas, tried to heal himself, and still loved Zeeniya wholeheartedly… it was heartwarming. Every time he called Zeeniya “Sarkar,” I swear I felt butterflies. Their relationship was just too cute, the kind that makes you root for them with your whole heart. Together, they made such a beautiful pair. Just like a green forest—fresh, deep, and full of life.

Now, now, now… the one and only Qais Zaman Kambeer.

Uff… uff… uff… what do I even say? How do I even begin? This man is a rollercoaster in the truest sense. Yes, I know he’s the villain. Yes, he did countless terrible things, things that can’t ever be justified. But still—dil hi nahi manta yaar isko hate karne ka. No matter how hard I try, I just can’t.

People call him a red flag, a red forest… but for me, he’s not red. He’s black. Siyaah. Endless, consuming black. Dark, powerful, terrifyingly strong. Extremes only. And maybe that’s why he pulls you in like a magnet.

Yes, he’s a khabees insaan. Yes, he broke people, destroyed lives, and manipulated everyone till the end. He was a pure villain—no excuses. But still, there’s something about him… a dard, a darkness, jo dil ko kheenchta hai. He’s the first villain I cried so much for. Log compare karte hain aur characters se, but honestly—nah. Even Hashim can’t touch his place. Qais was different. He wasn’t just a villain, he was the villain people ended up loving.

And I promise, I am not romanticizing his actions. I won’t justify them. But still, I can’t deny—he was also a man who could have been better. Just like Mehdi, he had choices. He could have chosen the good path. But he didn’t. And yet… whenever he broke down and cried, asking “Main hi kyun, Allah?” my heart shattered with him. I cried with him, for him, because of him.

I wanted to hug him, to console him. More than that, I wanted to make dua for him—like he was not just a fictional character, but someone real. Like a friend, a family member, bleeding in front of me. That’s how deeply he got under my skin.

And his death… Allah. From the very beginning, I knew he would die. I prepared myself for it. But when those final chapters came, all my preparations failed. Jab uske last words aaye, i felt pain under my skin bro. His death was pure trauma for me. When he was dying, I just kept praying, ya Allah, isko pain na ho. When his heart broke, mine broke too. I literally found myself making dua that Allah forgive every one of his sins and grant him Jannah. Kash, I was the writer—I would have poured every happiness of the world into his jholi.

And oh, his relationships… his bond with Mehdi was something else. That love-hate equation—uff—it stamped itself into my heart. Their dosti, their rivalry, their brotherhood—it was messy but unforgettable. And that last moment with Aizel… when he touched her, kissed her for the final time… meri aankhein bhar aayi. Even now, while writing this, I can feel my tears.

Qais Zaman Kambeer is not just a character. He’s an experience. A storm. A darkness you can’t resist. A villain you can’t forget. He’s the man who breaks you and still makes you pray for him.

I don’t think I can pick this novel again for a while. Not until the tears dry, not until the ache in my chest settles.

Just for this man—The Qais Zaman Kambeer.
Tumhare naam, yani mohabbat ke naam. ❤️

This novel was not just a story—it was an experience. It spoke about parenting, trauma, love, betrayal, traditions, and healing in ways that cut straight to the soul. Every character—big or small—left their mark. Some made us smile, some made us cry, some made us furious, and some left us shattered beyond words.

I laughed with them. I cried with them. I prayed for them. I mourned them. And that’s the power of the author—the ability to make fictional lives feel more real than reality.

Yes, the novel was long, but every page was worth it. It wasn’t just entertainment; it was a mirror to life, to society, and to the deepest corners of the human heart. It taught me lessons I’ll carry forever—about breaking toxic cycles, choosing myself, and most importantly, about how love and pain can exist together so fiercely.

Some characters became my strength (like Koonj and Shezal). Some became my comfort (like Mehdi). And one—Qais Zaman Kambeer—became my destruction. A man who was a villain but still took away pieces of my heart, leaving me in tears, in prayers, in silence.

This novel will stay with me for a long, long time. I don’t think I can reread it anytime soon, but one thing is certain—its impact will never fade.

To the writer: thank you for giving us a masterpiece. And to the characters—you’ll live rent-free in my heart forever.

Tumhare naam, yani mohabbat ke naam. ❤️

So I loved the ending even though it was predictable. I wanted Qais or Mehdi to die as I hate love triangles. If I am to talk about the overall story, I would say the start was so .. idk how to say it, but I didn’t like it. Her stories are inspired by most of Nemrah Ahmad’s works and she has even copied some of the dialogues like that ‘comfort zone’ one ‘کیف میرا کمفرٹ زون تھا.’ I don’t know much about writing tho, but I like the stories that keep me hooked but don’t bore me at the same time. I skipped most of the falsafa since I hated it, and it was quite unnecessary. My final verdict is that the story could have been shorter and I love Qais even though I hate Hashim. By love I am not justifying how he sent Zenia to prison, I hated him at that point. I think I only like him because he died if that makes sense. I didn’t like Zenia. Strong women are not supposed to be like that. I don’t want women to be like some damsel in distress or anything but making them so arrogant is not right imo.

Have read many novels but didn't find the class that I found from it. Every single character in this novel is "bismil" in some way.
Qais Kambeer's character dominates as best villan.
Kardar and Kambeer are unmatchable.

"I'm literally Mehdi when it comes to Qais" 🫠

The one thing that i love the most about this book is that it provides you with solutions too. 1=Thing 2=Reasoning 3=Solution
Ig I'll recommend everyone to read this book once in their life. It teaches you how to create boundaries, what's Self harm, how to deal with your past, how to move on, how to live, Parenting, The real meaning of Marriage, how to overcome childhood traumas etc.

Zeeniya Hakim. She seems rude but the reality? You'll see. The way she changed her defensive mechanisms, the way she guides konj, her bonding with bashar>>>>>>> (although i don't like how she deals with Balaj.....but that was understandable)

Mehdi Sarwar Kambeer. A PUREE GENTLEMAN🎀loveeed the wayy he treated Zeeniya even in anger he never raised his voice at once (The comparison zeeniya saw when Qais broke her camera between them>>>>) Hee iss thee Healerrrrr, Comfortt🫠hiss speechesss andd thee way he makes everyone feel included🤌

Qais Zaman Kambeer. Firstly "I'm literally Mehdi when it comes to Qais". Hiss Aura was something else, his character was written so beautifully that youu can neither hate him nor love him ("Woh muhabbat ke qabil tha phir kyu nahi milti thi usse muhabbat") Harsh reality, he was a narcissist, toxic, controlling, always playing victim Card a puree complete egoistic angry man. I'll never forgive him for what he did to Zeeniya, i hate him for that part atleast (HE DIDN'T DESERVE ZEENIYA AT ALL!!!) i did cry alot on his death, his days in jail, his letters💔 THE AUDACITY OF THIS MAN😶🙂

Konj hakim. Konj wass myy favv character throughout the novell. I absolutely adoree her journeyyy, the wayy she took help, stop zegham, herr supporting zeeniya>>>>>>>

Bashar Hakim. Him and zeeniya on Seaview side>>>>>>>>😭❤️‍🩹 every girl deserves a brother like him.

Zeghamm meer. An underrated character i would say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVEEE HIMM🎀 the wayy he forgivee konj, respected her decisions, makes her realise her worth, always fight for her, support her>>>>>>>🥹❤️

Waryam baig and Shazil. Loved their nok jhok, friendship, Absolutely cutieeeesss✨🎀

Buraq/balaj. "Bare se bare beghairat dekhe the inka alag makaam hai" 🙂
The onlyy good thing qais did was to kill Balaj💅Suchh a khanzeer he was. Buraq😑 don't even get me started their, he call himself a true friend to the kambeer's brothers?? Even after what he did to both of them???!! THE AUDACITY.

"HAR BISMIL KO ZAKHM BHARNY HOTY HAIN NAYE SAFAR KA LYE"

Bismil.... Another Masterpiece by our talented writer Mehrunnisa .. First of all, Hats off to the writer who writes the Urdu second-best villain character with so much power ka apko wo pnsd bh aye ga or nafrat to itni ka shaid ma na to ksi fictional character se ni ki honi...

Story ma jis trah qabaili ilaqon ki riwayat ka zikr shroo hua or jis khubsurti se pori story riwayat ky hathon bigri, bani or kamyab hui .. I appreciate that ... haqeeqat thi or hai bh aj bh boht se ilaqay asy hain jha aurat wesi hi smjhi jati ha jesi is ma writer ne likhi ...

Again .. Charcaters ki bat krein to she never failed to amaze me ... 1400 safhon ki kitab ko 4 din ma prh ka khtm krna ye btata ha ka story ma kch asa ha jisko ap puase ni kr skty.. Ma na ak din ka off lia bismil khtm krny ka lye :))) she truly remarkably owns every single character from Koonj to Hudaiba(habeeb), from zagham to Sheezal, and from abudllah to qais(mery lye ye do character alag hi rhy gy q ka jis trah story shroo hui this Abdullah ka phase see ma is se moveon ni k rpai abhi,, :D

Part 1:
phla hissa prhty huy mery khiyalat or soch boht mukhlitf thy or mjhy story dragged lgi awainn.... halanky past btana zroori tha relate krny ky lye but still i think ka 1 part ka last ma past present mix huy ya balance ni thy .. ak ryhtm ni bn ri the ka past kia chal ra present kaha se shroo hua.. shaid episodic asa bhtr lga ho but for book i think kch highlights honi chahye thy.
Speaker sahb (mehdi) ki speaches ma na ignore ki kafi q ka curiosity ka chkr baboo bhaiya 😁 also Koonj bh ak time tk boht irritate ki but character se bad ma sympathy hony lgi mjhy dont know why ...

Part 2:
Ye best tha.... agr dono alag parts ko rate kru to ye part mery liye 10/10 tha .... han ma end ka page tk villian ka laut any ka intzar kr ri thi (mery lye second best villian tha na 😥OR koi itna khubsurati se villain character kesy likh skta ha yarrr😭😭😭 end pa bh mjhy lga story dragged ki ha but khubsurti phr bh thi q ka characters ko zindagi deni hoti ha and this writes is best in giving end to character..

Last but not least: "YE MERI ZINDAGI KA AKHRI LENTGHY NOVEL HA" 😪😪

i actually want to give it 4 stars just cuz how stretched the story was, esp after zeeniya moved to bangladesh(skipped a lot of it tbh) but i know it was needed. I think Pakistani writers dk how to write a good 300-400 pgs novel. writer ki glti nahi hai, hamari khaslat hi aesi hai.
There were sths that i didn't like about zeeniya. She was too confident and it shows even until the end. You can't really relate w a girl who hates s/o and then believes that that person is her soulmate. One thing i loved about her was her thinking process towards the end, woh qurbaaniyaan de rhi thi bohat maan se, lekin woh khud ko maar b nahi rhi thi.
Mehdi's character has my heart and he wasn't copy pasted from other novel. A lot of times when you see a caring man, they all look same.He didn't.
And qais. Bro did i not know to hate him or to cry for him. Abhi sb khte hain we don't like bad guyz but i realized I'd still fall for them. us ka dukh apna lagta hai aur us ki di gai takleef bhi apni lgti hai, aesay bhi lgta hai k woh aap ke zakhmoon pr markham rakh raha hai aur aesay b k aap pr zulm kr raha hai. I'm happy zeeniya didn't fall for that. The only thing i could wish for him was Jannah. bs yhi tha k Allah is jahan mein na sahi, agle mein use khush rakhein, us k zakhmoon ko marham mile. Yeh woh character hai jo mehrulnisa ne nehaayat hasen likha hai.
Well done, Mehrulnisa shahmeer. aur aik glt ke بلکل aesay nahi, بالکل aesay likha jata hai, book ko kci achi editor se guzaar lein agli baar. mein ne pdf veraion prha tha, shayd book mein yeh glti na ho lekin wese bhi i think shrink ho skte hain kuch pgs. aur nemrah ahmed ko parhana thora avoid karein (nahi un ki copy nahi tha, un se inspired tha writing style thora bohat aur yeh masla nahi lekin thori aur kisam ki kitaabein prhne ko dil kr raha tha jo aap de skti hain) shyd aesa na ho, shyd glti meri ho k mein nemrah ahmed k ilawa kci ko itni shoq se nahi prhati tou mjhe woh har jagh nazar aati hain.
And i gave it 5 stars to appreciate mehrulnisa's hardwork. jug jug jiyo. (plz drama bana dein is pr).

so before seriously starting the review i want to say that i feel mehar's fmls (zeeniya and halay sultan) except from the characters of bab e dehar, are kinda immature, indecisive and narcissist. I may be wrong here but i found the similarities as fmls should be of strong and alluring character to feel a bond with them but anyways i didn't really like zeeniya AT ALL,bohat he khar dimagh thee yay i just couldn't tolerate her. I enjoyed the description of the places though many of the readers have complained about that but I understand everyone has a different preference. As for mehdi i am a bit skeptical that if i like him or not but but but i just hate qais for treating him so badly like ajeeb. Buraq haneef was a weird but surprisingly funny character. Then comes our Qais sahab. though i loved him but he's just so awful for not reaching out to zeeniya on time and only that ghissi pitti dhamki kisi or jagh shadi ka sochna b ni and blah blah. and when zeeniya got into nikkah with mehdi phir jo problems qais ny banaye were not understandable bhae ni time py gaye, na yakeen dilaya apny anay ka even though zeeniya nearly begged him to come bhae i'm just out of words.
Then comes bashar hakim. he is portrayed as a normal human among all as i believe kuin k aik insan hamesha perfect ni hota kisi kisi time he slips out of his frame and same with bashar wo b kaheen na kaheen dagmaga jata tha but the real ones are those jo khud ko sambhal lain or bashar nay yahi kiya tha.
them comes that problematic scene jahan konj or zeegham chuph k batain karty hain or zeeniya konj ko na-mehram wali baat py lecture deti ha okay good acha ha chothon ko yay baat samjhana but you know where the actual problem lies? zeeniya khud bhee to yahi sab karti phir rahi thee islamabad main qais or mehdi kon sa us k mehram thay ajeeb. Shezal( i hope yahi name thaa) zeeniy's friend was a good and sensible character bacha lia zeeniya ko kuch bewaqoofion say nahi to zeeniya ny khar dimagh hony ka koi moqa janay ni diya.

okay so i just finished bismil and wow this book really broke me like no joke this is not just a romance this is literally pain drama family politics trauma love revenge everything mixed into one

qais kambir literally shattered my heart like this man saw his whole family die in front of him how is anyone supposed to survive that pain 😭 every single scene with qais felt so heavy i wanted to jump into the book and give him a hug he deserved happiness so bad like all he wanted was peace and life kept taking it away from him his character is literally the soul of this novel

mehri kambir was such a strong heroine like yeah she was stubborn at times but she had to grow up and face everything alone her journey was so emotional and her chemistry with qais was slow but sooo beautiful it hit so hard when they finally connected properly

konj hakim confused me in the start but as the story went on i felt for her too like her whole deal with her dad and family drama added so much depth i didn’t expect to care but i did

baraq hanif was a strong character not the usual hero vibes but he brought so much twist to the story and zenhua hakim mehdi kambir and the rest of the characters all made the novel layered and full of emotions

this is not a light story btw it will make you cry get angry and scream at the characters and still keep reading like crazy because you cant stop the writing just pulls you in and when i reached the last chapters i was literally crying qais got some closure but the pain stays with you even after you finish

overall bismil is the kind of book that stays with you long after you are done you feel like you lived the pain with the characters if you love emotional character driven stories with heartbreak slow burn romance and big family drama you have to read this just prepare tissues because qais will break you 😭🙏💔

SO i just completed bismil and I actually lovedddd it....now hear me out...
ANd after reading reviews , I am literally shocked. i dont understand what people want.
mtlb agr heroine sab faisly shy ly rhy hy to masla ky aisa nhi hota real life me. agr wo like humans kuch glt krrhy hy to masla ky she is too dumb.agr happy ending hy to masla ky life fairy tale nhi hy , sad ending hy to masla ky bhei haqiqat sy dory ky leye novels prhty hy wo sad kyu hy . hero pyara hy to masla ky kha sy aaty hy or agr hero mehdi jesa normal looking hy to bhei is me heros jesy vibe nhi arhy, ...mtlb chahye kia akhir
now about zeenia hakim...yr aik bandi hy jis ko kbhi pyar nhi mila, kisi ny hype nhi kya so she started hyping herself.even I do the same sometimess. or actually me agr wo ziada rony ro rhy hoty na ky me bewaqoof ho to bhi masla ee hona tha. hum sb life me kayi bar logo ko gyan dy rhy hoty hy pr khud wo kaam krrhy hoty hy.its human nature.pr nhi books aisa kyu kry.
most satisfying thing was qais death or should I say planned suicide, as in mano salva zaini said ky life me apki entry chahy jesy bhi ho ending shandar hony chahye. Qais ny is baat ko buht literally ly lya and I loved it.

And for all those people ky nemrah ka writing style copy kya hy to bhei tum log bhi krky aisy novel likh ky dikha do, ajeeb hy bhei.
mujhe to ye style copy krny waly baat smjh nhi aty .there are literally billions of book ab un sb ka style hoga aisy to nemrah ny bhi kisi ka copy kya hoga, ofcourse hum aik literature prhty hy to hum pr uska asar hota hy alfaz yad rehjaty hy.and maybe you guys dont know pr nemrah ky halim novel ko bhi logo ny copy hi kha tha.so jb book prha kro na to pechly writers ko zehn sy nikal kr srf is writer ka soch kr prha kro, maybe phr itna bura na lgy.
