I received this book today and had to read it. My rating is bias because we need more representation in all generes of literature. Having a book that captures a reggaeton artist and highlights their greatness is needed. Interest are varied and creating books fostering diverse interest to keep kids reading is a must.
Some information had to be fact checked , such as where he preformed for free, his mentors and friends in the industry.
I have used this series for book reports in my classroom and like to have them around to reduce the use of media in the classroom. I am pleased we are moving forward from the classic figures and adding sazón to bookshelves around the world. Now Penguin and “WhoHQ” let’s use these profits to help marginalized authors, communities and give back to the people you are profiting from. GM Toboas Zayas was a good choice, lets keep it up.
While this is slightly interesting, the subject is young and therefor there aren’t many things to cover. I’m sure for a child fan, this is great. I’m sure there is more that could have been told that was left out. I’m disappointed.
