Cameron seems to have everything working fine until Otto shows up and blackmails her into helping him with a job/theft on Mount Olympus – gods and all. Between Otto’s consistent passes (helped by an arrow shot by Cupid) and the problems navigating through the Roman Parthenon this is a great adventure. There is action, extremely interesting characters, humour (Otto’s antics had me laughing out loud) and of course danger. And things don’t improve when she gets back to New Orleans – she has to put up with pissed off werewolf and leprechaun not to mention vampires. This was a great addition to the series - never knew what was going to happen and I’m sure the next book will keep up this wild ride. A quick, easy, enjoyable read. L.L. Gray has been added to a list of favourite authors.
Well, Gray has done it again…another great chapter in the life of Cameron Blaze. I was lucky enough to score an ARC in return for an honest review. This was funny, imaginative and had great details about various Gods and how they each impacted Cam on her travels to Mount Olympus. Yes, you read that right…she gets to play with the Roman Gods and tries to best them to her peril…. Don’t worry, she’s still very much in the game! The romance between Magnus and Cam continues on a slow burn but is progressing in the right direction. We get to see her bestie, Sloane and the Forge bar a bit and once mentioned, all the previous adventures there come surging back to memory. But when will she learn not to tangle with Otto or trust him with ANYTHING he says? And the promises she seems to make willy nilly, without thinking, come back to bite her in her proverbial butt; will she learn as the story goes on…you’ll have to read it to see. All in all, another fun installment in Cam’s world, with her snarky sense of humor, her loyalty to friends always topmost in her heart and Gray’s tremendous imagination hard at work. So much more to come…she didn’t really leave us hanging but certainly laid the path for the next great adventure and I’m sure Ember will play a fun part.
Daggers and Deception lives up to it’s name in the fifth installment to the series. We find Cameron who had been blackmailed by Otto into taking a decidedly unexpected job traveling to Olympus to steal from the Gods. Hmmm 🤔 does this sound like the best plan probably not but Cameron feels she has no choice to keep things best kept secret well secret.
In this journey shenanigans and high jinx abound as well as plenty of daggers and deception. And oh my if I’m not starting to adore a very handsomely annoying yet oddly endearing Otto. What a character! And her boyfriend the hot Alpha Werewolf Magnus mmmm deliciously devilishly sexy and very dangerously unforgettable. What will a girl do? This is probably my favorite in the series so far and I honestly can’t wait to see what happens next!
If you haven’t tried the set you definitely need to read it. Absolutely awesome magic system and world building as well as fun and intriguing characters that are easy to get invested in. Everything a great series needs! Give it a try you won’t be disappointed!
More adventures for Cam and Otto this time in the Greek Gods realm. A narrow escape from a murderously cross vampire trying to get his magic egg back, blocked magic loss and regaining it made for an interesting read once again. I loved the little new creature, a drake she found in her bath tub. Very interesting how Ember is going to slot in the next book. Romance is definitely blooming with her Wolf. I received an advanced review copy and leave this review voluntary Thank you Liz Gray. Keep up the great writing
Cameron Blaze is off on her 5th adventure, this time, to visit the Greek/Roman pantheon and in this story we get a glimpse of the shenanigans she gets up to (or rather, gets dragged into). The author has done a terrific job, giving me all the Percy Jackson vibes in this book with non-stop action. I could not put this book down! And the ending has some serious cuteness overload there, which I won't spoil. I can't wait to read about her next adventure, and can I make a request to the author - I want more of Otto. He's fun!
Cam and Otto go on a new adventure together within the Greek good realm and as always, it doesn’t disappoint. By this point each new level they reach just continues to keep us wondering when will they truly get a break? But who would want that when their adventures are so thrilling! I can see some romance bubbling 👀 I can’t wait to see where it goes.
L.L Gray never disappoints and this installment to the smoke and shadows universe was amazing.
A spiraling start spawns a reluctant collusion of thieves. What was so creatively stolen from a powerful Vampire has gone missing. And those Vamp fangs are not smiling. With the questionable "help" of a thieving rival, Cam frantically searches not just one, but two camps on Mount Olympus. Daggers and Deception gives you a full serving of complicated characters and plate full of plot both spiced with delicious humor. Enjoy a great read!
Ms Blaze is at it again with her adventures keeping you entertained. She has a special way of capturing your imagination and always seems to get herself out of the troubles life throws at her. Daggers and Deception keeps you guessing with plot twists and the unexpected surprise at the end leaves you wishing the journey would continue. Patiently looking forward to future adventures with Cam. Keep up the great work
Not as good as the book before, I’m not really into Greek & Roman gods so got a bit bogged down in the middle of the book, Otto was a little bit of humorous relief. I much preferred the last part of the book where she was back with Slone and Magnus, found this part hard to put down. Good world and character building, look forward to the next book.
Thieves, gods, and knives? Oh, my! This book finds Cam on an unexpected quest in new realm. The world-building skills of L.L. Gray continue to impress as the witty banter and exciting pace of this novel keep the pages turning. A brilliant entry in the series!
