Things could be worse. One minute, I was hiking through the Appalachian wilderness with my friends from the Outlander Tuesday Night Book Club. One bright light later, and I’m hundreds of feet below ground, tasked with taking care of the miners in this labyrinth of tunnels—slaves just like me. Except they’re not like me, they’re children… alien children. And kids will be kids, no matter which part of the galaxy they’re from. All they need is love and to feel safe. My task seems hopeless until he shows up. Daicon, war chief of the Bardaga, is not amused when I refuse to leave this desolate moon without the children, effectively quashing his rescue attempt. Despite his aggravation, Daicon formulates a plan for all of us to escape the drudgery of the mines while stepping into the role of surrogate father for tiny beings starved for security and affection. I’m no longer worried about protecting the children with Daicon around. Now, my biggest worry is protecting my heart!

Errors but enjoyable

There were a lot of typos in this book. I'm not normally one to fixate on grammar but they were often and obvious. But the story itself was entertaining and exciting so I was able to overlook them.

Omg Annie did it again! I’m loving this series! It gives me all the feels from happiness, sadness, laughter to determination! Daisy story is about motherhood and how you don’t have to give birth a child for them to be yours! Daicon is an amazing warrior who would do anything for Daisy his mate but also the children! It’s an absolutely beautiful story! I loved it!! Can’t wait for the next one!

4&1\2 terrific🌟's for Warrior🌟💖

This is the 2ndin the Out landed Book couch in space. The first book was good , so much better than I expected and this second book has me wanting even more . Daisy was a Ministers wife and her husband died several years ago. She was one of 7 friends who were abducted from Earth and changed significantly enough that there is not return. She was sold to a mine to work and take care of the miners . what surprised her was all the miners are stolen children. She WILK do whatever it take to save these children. Daicon is a war chief send to find Emmys missing friends. When he finds Daisy he's immediately drawn to her but needs to get her off the planet. She refuses to go without what by this time has be one her babies. She give her gorgeous rescuer only one choice we all get rescue corn can't leave the children. there is no question what he answer is . in the famous words of Hannibal of Carthage "We will either find a way or make one". Nothing is going to stop Daicon from rescuing Daisy and the children. You have to read and find out what happens ! The alien children steal the show they'll melt your heart! Daicon and Daisy find true love and explore a passion that transcends time and place. Give this series a try it will make you laugh, cry and want an alien mate of your very own💖🌟💖🌟💖🔥🔥🌟🔥🌟🔥💖🌟🌟🌟🔥

Awesome! Loved it!

Ok, I have to say that despite all the typos and editing problems in this series, it's fast becoming my favorite new immersion!😍 The first story was good and I enjoyed it, but felt the FMC didn't really act like a woman her age would, with the level of life experience and the boldness she would have had from the job she had on earth. Also, the editing was pretty sketchy, and that detracted from the amount of stars I left on the review. I'm gonna go ahead and level up to 5☆'s on this one, I think the author REALLY hit a home run the second time around😁 The MMC was awesome, and in this second book, I felt the FMC was really true to the character that would have been that age and from that walk of life 🥰 This second book also really tugged on your heart strings, wow! It takes a lot to get me into a book enough to cry over the characters these days, but it had me in tears 4 or 5 times!🥲 I think the alien children, and the relationships between them and the MMC/FMC were totally what made this one so good, they were really adorable☺️ ( I wish the author had chosen the main Ewoks name, Wicket, for the Kurzak child instead of Ewok, it would have made more sense, especially given the age of the FMC, as the original Star Wars trilogy would have been a big deal in her teenage years😊) The one thing that drove me nuts after awhile( both books) was the whole "gold rings in a sea of cobalt" to describe his eyes- over and over and over, ugh!! Find another way to say it, ir better yet, you don't really have to describe them in that much detail every chapter! 😂I was really surprised at the halfway point in this book at how much story there had already been for just 100 pages or so, there was a lot going on in this one! And the ending, OMG, don't get me going again, I sniffled and wiped my eyes for the last 3 chapters, I think😍🥲😍 It was REALLY good🩷 This was one that really squeezed my heart❤️ Oh, and the part about Marilyn, that was hilarious! Kudos to the author for such a unique idea! I am off to book 3!

Warrior

I'm still liking the premise of these MFCs being 60 year olds who have been remade into their 25 year old bodies. This MFC has a whole past life as a minister's wife. She loved her husband very much (he dies previous to the story). She's pretty traditionally feminine, especially when it comes to the welfare of the child slaves she is taking care of. I liked this interaction between her and the MMC,

Him,
“Do not be besotted because they are younglings. Ewok is a Kerzak. I imagine the others in this mine are mercenary species as well. Beings who would walk across your bloody and broken body to get off this moon.”

Her response,
I raised my chin. “This isn’t about what they would do. This is about what I’m doing. And I am not leaving a single child behind.”

I liked her clarity of purpose and fortitude here. I especially liked what she did to earn the title “little warrior”. She really does occur as someone who gets an opportunity to remake herself and takes it.

Book 2 seemed a smoother read than book 1. Quite a few typos, but easy to overlook.

Daisy is a church minister's widow. After being abducted by alien slave traders she is sent to work in an underground mine as a cook/laundress for the mine workers. When she arrives she realises all the slaving miners are children.

When Daicon, the alien warrior arrives to secret her away, Daisy refuses to leave without the 20 children she has come to care for. Daicon knows he will never get Daisy to leave without them, so comes up with a plan.

Daisy was a hard-working sweetheart. Unable to have children of her own, she and her husband took many mission trips, so she is used to poverty, but is appalled by the treatment of the mining children. She has so much love to give. Daicon falls for her fast, but is worried about the danger to Daisy if they were to perform the (soul)mating process which would potentially stop her heart.

I thought the story was very sweet.
This book contains descriptive love scenes.

Great series. Hard reading because of so many grammar mistakes and wrong words used. Some sentences start out good but an extra (but, for, the, for example) finds its way into it and breaks it up so you have to go back to the beginning of the sentence to figure out what it is supposed to be. Whoever is proofing these books needs to get glasses or instruction on sentence structure. Even with these glaring errors the storyline shines through and makes it a fairly enjoyable read.

I am enjoying this series

Daisy has become the second of the Outlander Book Club to be found and a rescue mission started. Den mother to 20 children, Daisy is not letting her Warrior Chief rescue her without her cubs. A minister’s widow who has been taken back to her 20s, she’s definitely attracted to Daicon. Daicon is blown away by her cooking, caring and kisses. Kids to the children but mate for a Warrier chief? daisy is willing to try!

Indiana Jones alien style

When I was reading this book it actually reminded me of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom minus the bugs and a blood god, though it does have rescuing a damsel in distress and a lot of children used in mines, explosive rescue and if I say more I may spoil it. Strap in your seat and experience a wild ride. I can't wait to read the next book I love this series.

SERIES BOOK #2 EXCELLENT YOU GOTTA READ THIS SERIES FOLKS!

I was worried that Book #2 would be very similar to Book #1. To some extent it is but this story is different and even better than Book #1. Loved the line from my 1960’s favorite tv show. Now I’m off to start Book #3, yahoo!

Good read marred by bad editing

This is another great read by Annie Lucas in this series but the misspellings, wrong words and jumbled sentences sprinkled throughout this Kindle version were very distracting. Thankfully I could self edit the story of course but such a good story deserves great editing that keeps the overall feel from being cheapened.

Good series, but

Good series but this author needs to make nice with an editor or 2, chop-chop. There were 18 blatant, ridiculous errors that threw me right out of the story. the books so far are pretty formulaic, but entertaining. I probably won't read another series by this author but I'll finish this one if the grammar doesn't get any worse.

mistakes make me mad

So many mistakes in this book. Either a missed word to complete a sentence, she changed the name of the main female to one in another of her books three times. I’m not a writer but one of my biggest pet peeves is errors. Doesn’t anyone proofread this stuff???

Daisy

Daisy surprised me! She really came around from her earthly personality. The ways she knew from earth helped her survive. Recommend this story!
