This was an enjoyable and spooky delight. Don’t get me wrong, love Anne Doyle, but I’m not the biggest short story collection fan only because it’s a case of half and half. Half I liked, and half I didn’t. But a good selection and kept me going. Done and dusted. Some I may revisit again and others I’ll throw a wide berth.
This collection of spooky tales is perfect for getting you in the mood for Halloween. The stories range from shrieking skulls to ghosts that frighten and ghosts that creep, from gothic manors to modern hospital beds. Includes stories by Deirdre Sullivan, Oscar Wilde, Lord Dunsany, Flann O'Brien and more
I have struggled to read gothic literature and things from the romantic genre in the past but this was an excellently curated collection of spooky stories. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it included mixed genders and went from gothic horror to modern. Great read for stormy November days.
