Alone, frightened, and exiled.

That’s what I get for trusting the Hart Pack. I was a fool to think we could ever be happy—that they would ever want me.

But it turns out that I’m destined to walk this earth alone. Forsaken and forgotten. Never anyone’s first choice.

And if Gryphon, Oliver, Barret, and Lachlan don’t want me, then no pack ever will.

So, what’s the point in even trying? There’s nothing wrong with being alone after all. It’s just unfortunate that my body has other ideas...

I’m an Omega now, and I have just gone into heat. And an Omega can die if they don’t receive an Alpha’s touch.

Yet I would rather die than grovel to that pack again.

After all, I don’t need to be saved. I can save myself.

Saved is a contemporary Omegaverse that will take you on an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. There is no choosing, and scenes of MM/ MMFM. Trigger warnings apply.

Way too much like another series…

The Beta Trials was a duology that I was looking forward to reading, however it didn’t take me long to realize that the The Beta Trials read like a VERY WATERED DOWN (not as good as) version of The Beta Series.

**SPOILERS**

We have Mila, the Beta who is inserted into the house and already established Pack, Heart. Pack Heart is powerful and they already have a beautiful male Omega who doesn’t want a Beta in his home “tempting” his Alpha’s. The Governor initiated this stupid program so the Beta’s have no choice but to do a “trial run” in a pack.

It doesn’t take all that long for Ollie, the beautiful handsome Omega to fall for Mila. She’s sweet, good, “innocent” yet can kick ass. And SHE MAKES HIM FEEL LIKE AN ALPHA which he loves. He loves his Alpha’s and their attention, but Mila’s small stature, delicate features, sweetness, calls to him and makes him want to protect her, something that has never happened before to him - and this is BEFORE they realize Ollie and Mila are scent matched!

Lachlan and Barrett are equally smitten, and it’s nice to see that in book two the focus is very much on Mila…she deserves it. However, Gryphon is still a total A-Hole and stays that way until almost THE END UP THE BOOK! It’s only at the end, when he’s going to bite/bond her into the pack that he really says what he feels…I love you. But by this time it’s not really believable because he’s spent two books actively hating her and treating her like shyte!

Like “The Beta Series” I think this should’ve been a trilogy and not just a duology. The characters needed to be fleshed out more, and we the readers didn’t get enough Lachlan time (he’s my favorite Alpha…probably because he’s unhinged, lol). I would’ve liked to have seen them ALL TOGETHER for maybe Ollie and Mila’s synced heat, or an epilogue at least!!! Maybe an epilogue where she’s pregnant? How cute would little Ollie, Lachlan or Barrett babies be? Honestly I hold out opinion on Gryphon, because even now that the book is done I don’t feel as if I got to “know him at all,” not really…just his devotion and love for Ollie. It didn’t make for a fully cohesive Pack dynamic! Even in the end it was clear that even though Mila was the most important dynamic in their Pack, Gryphon would always put Ollie above her - not even considering she might be his equal if not more.

Furthermore The Beta Trials read way too much like “The Beta Series,” and that’s not good, trust me. Because “The Beta Series” is MUCH MORE DETAILED…with a much more complex and interesting plot, in addition to the fact that The Beta, Talia is definitely more kick-ass than Mila (sad but true). And even though in The Beta Series, there is ONE MAIN ALPHA (like Gryphon in this one) that treats the Beta less than dirt, only to turn around and fall in love with her. However, there just didn’t seem to be enough time in The Beta Trials duology to REALLY flesh the main characters out, and then give them ample time to let them “resolve” their issues and fall in love “organically.” I mean heck, could Violet Fox have made it any more clear that Gryphons main and soul attention was on HIS OMEGA, Ollie…and that if Ollie wanted Mila he’d make it happen, FOR OLIVER (to make Oliver happy) not necessarily himself. I just didn’t enjoy how little time Gryphon and Mila had together before the author had to find some excuse to “shut” Gryphon up, and have him doing the “Woe is me, can I really possibly like Mila AND my love, Ollie at the same time?” It’s clear he doesn’t do the inner monologue well, because it always comes back to how Ollie needs her, how Ollie wants and desires her and how HE (Gryphon just wants Ollie and to make him - Ollie- happy no matter what, even at the expense of his own happiness).

So in conclusion, it’s a quick read. It’s pretty “straight forward” and touches on Omega techniques - and attributes - if only mostly from Ollie.

But again! P.S. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE BETA SERIES. Very similar but alas better. It’s a much more developed, intriguing and well thought out plot which makes for better novels! There are 3 of them (books that is) as opposed to The Beta Trials 2. And frankly a lot more happens in The Beta Series, and the harem members are even more diverse! So yes, if you liked Mila and her Pack you’ll utterly I mean utterly fall in love with Talia, the heroine from The Beta Series, and her wide assortment of hot, morally gray, harem members. And you’ll fall head over heels for Ollie in these (2) books, just like you did for Jasper in (3) books of The Beta Series. Trust me though, The Beta Trials is like a sundae without whipped cream and cherries, next to The Beta.

Mila became a Whiny bitch when she could have just talked to them about the situation and cleared the misunderstanding. Started to hate everyone halfway through. I finished it and the only good thing was the crazy that is Lachlan

This one is even worse than the first. If you make it through the first book and think "why not, might as well read the next one," ...just don't. Save yourself the trouble.

Plot makes even less sense and has even more holes. The cliffy at the end where she suddenly goes into heat and will die without an Alpha? Yeah, that's just ignored. She's rescued by a random alpha and passes out for 4 days and is perfectly fine. No explanation.

I don't even understand what the fucking conflict was supposed to be about. Why was Mila so hurt and dejected? What did the pack do wrong? Was it all just because they missed the funeral (did she even actually invite them?? It was never said and quite possible she just magically expected them to come). Bro... they didn't even know he died. And they were on house arrest surrounded by armed guards. Why was none of this discussed? Why were they groveling? IT MADE NO SENSE.

And why was Gov Lily even the antagonist? Why did she have it out for them? Like, you could have ran with the male omega theory that was teased, but then she said she didn't want kids. So why?????? And we never find out what Gov Fred's plan was.

Speaking of, he was randomly alive. For what reason? Purely random shock factor because he then does actually end up dead 5 seconds later.

Literally nothing about this made any sense. The spice was weird. There wasn't any MM. Lachlan's character was absolutely nuked to kingdom come (they have to frequently chain him up in the basement because he becomes so uncontrollably psychotic like it's no big deal??? Excuse me, what???).

And, of course, the writing it still every sentence gets it's own paragraph. Literally. There was one paragraph that actually had 3 whole sentences in it. One. Out of the entire book. All the rest were 1-2 sentences long. And short. And choppy. And repetitive.

Please, dear lord above, do not bother reading it. It's not even a little bit satisfying. It's full of random plot points (I didn't even discuss the 5 minutes where she's at the omega academy dealing with mean girls who were mean for no reason before she punches the teeth out of one of them. Ok).

Just, bad. So bad.

DNF @ 57%.

I should've put this one down when it said Goodbye Mila the beta. Hello Daisy the omega. What felt immature in the first book, went pre-school level in this one. Jeremy told them where she was but not the message. Oliver and Gryphon went mine mine mine at the omega school, whilst supposedly keeping a low profile. Not surprising at all Lily knew where she was.

Following a stupid deal with the one that caused the rift, Mila/Daisy is back with the pack. But instead of talking things out and making plans against the actual enemy, she's playing scorned omega with guilty betrayal and the guys are all about earning forgiveness with gifts. Gryphon knows but isn't going to say anything. Mila is going to tell them later rather than sooner.

I did like Lachlan's reaction, resulting in him getting chained up. Although the whole another lot of personalities mention felt strange. I was curious about that, but I can't get over the miscommunication or how damsel Mila has become. Sorry, Daisy. The old Mila was not present in this book.

Mila's life takes a turn for the worse and her future with the pack looks bleak, will the guys get it together and come for her or will they be splintered forever. Interesting plot with lots of action, lots of angst, toss in tons of groveling and steam and you end up with a pretty fun read! While there is lots of steam, the plot is fairly detailed and interesting, so you get a good story with the spice!

Rating TBD since I am an audiobook nerd.

Kinda felt a bit of lacking from the plot progression on this book, but I can’t make a final judgement based on this (book 2) and it tends to be the book that ramps up the finale if this is a three book series. Granted, the ending was awesome, but we all know this is the ramp up for the obvious storm that’s brewing.

… but the audiobook part of this series is incomplete, so TBD….

This is a review for book 1 and 2 in the series. A Polyamorous omega verse romance. MMMMF

Trope

Knotting
Bully-romance
Groveling
Tough FMC

Spice 🌶️🌶️

This was a different take on the omega verse than I am used to and it intrigued me… at least for book 1. I liked how the MFC was a tough gal but then in book 2 she becomes meek and fragile and it’s like her 4 years of combat training just disappeared. There was some minor redundancy and repeats in the beginning of the first book but not too annoying. The groveling from Oliver, Barrett and Lauchlin wasn’t needed especially since there was no communication at all about how they were prevented from going to Mila. Gryphon didn’t grovel enough and then suddenly Mila and him are bonded and that was the end. I don’t know if the villain is so believable in the end. My favorite is the narrators I will listen to any audiobook that the infamous duo does… Bridget and Jake Bordeaux… I love how they bring their characters to life and I feel like I right there in the story. I don’t know if I would have liked the story as much without the audio.

Mila Stone is an Omega disguised as a Beta. She uses desensitizers to mask her scent from the world. There are 2 sides of the government there’s the Beta side and the alpha side where the alphas coddle and protect their omegas like they are fragile beings with no autonomy. She has had to mask her scent in order for her to stay on the Beta side to take care of her dying father after her mother had passed. If she had presented as an omega she would be forced into an Omega database where she would have to leave her father to go to school for 4 years on the alpha side and then be put into auction to be sold to an alpha pack.

She has decided to train in the Beta trials where she went to school to train in combat and to be placed with an alpha pack to help protect their omega. She is recruited by the Beta governor to keep tabs on a specific omega… the only male omega in a mated pack. She doesn’t know why nor does she want to be a pawn but agrees because the governor doesn’t specify why but she is weary and doesn’t trust him. I’m thinking this has potential to be a huge plot arc but becomes anticlimactic in the 2nd book and I feel there was a missed opportunity.

The alpha governor is Lilly and she doesn’t agree with the beta trials but is forced to comply because she’s out voted since there are more Betas on the board. The alpha pack that Mila is matched with is the Hart Pack that is led by Gryphon. He is warned by Lily to not let Mila get close and to try to scare her off. He’s afraid of her because she’s the stronger alpha and she has her claws in him. It doesn’t help that he’s already weary because he’s worried that Mila will take his omega, Oliver from him.

Gryphon is your typical grump that isn’t easily persuaded in the relationship towards Mila. He does everything to keep Mila away from his pack and he is in denial. He only has eyes for Oliver and he doesn’t have a significant character arc and I felt 2 books wasn’t enough for this pack to develop especially with Gryphon.

Oliver is the first to embrace Mila which is surprising since it isn’t known for an Omega to share his/her alphas with another especially since she is a Beta (at least so they think). He is her scent match and they hit it off right away and it’s instant love for that pair.

Lachlan is your stereotypical bat shit crazy, unhinged guy that should be committed but is also the enigma of a soft hearted guy. He’s the first to try to court Mila and honestly he’s adorable. 🥰 I couldn’t help loving him and laughing at his antics. I think he was the saving grace for 2 aside of the amazing narrators.

Barrett is a combination of both Lachlan and Gryphon so he didn’t stand out that much to me.

By the end of the first book everyone but Gryphon decided that they want Mila and Oliver decides to escort her to the omega Ball which shocks everyone. Lily gets pissed and threatens Gryphon to get rid of Mila. As Oliver is dancing with Mila someone tries to shoot Mila but Oliver takes the bullet. Oliver survives but now there is a bigger rift between Mila and Gryphon. They are all taking turns caring for Oliver.

Mila gets a call that her father is dying and that she needs to come home to say goodbye. She goes back to the beta side with a promise to come back. While she is there the phones are blocked preventing her and the guys from communicating to each other. The guys (aside of Gryphon) think it’s just Mila needing space to mourn her father. Gryphon knows it’s somehow Lily but he doesn’t say anything because he doesn’t want Mila back and also doesn’t want to stand up to Lily in fear for his pack. When over a week goes by Oliver has had enough he wants to go to Mila so he can be there for her and he has a bad feeling. When they go to leave Gryphon tries to stop them but he’s out numbered. They don’t get the chance to leave because they are surrounded by guards that are there to apprehend Mila stated it’s by the order of Lily. The beta governor has been killed and she decided to end the Beta Trials.

Mila is at her dad’s funeral and she feels alone and betrayed by her guys since they aren’t calling her and not there for the funeral. Lilly shows up and taunts her and says they guys have abandoned her and she has 2 choices. Leave and never come back or be killed. She is knocked out and abandoned in the woods. When she comes to she is in heat and she’s trying to find her way back to save Oliver because she thinks Lily is after him… at least it’s implied. She stumbles into alphas she isn’t familiar with and they put her to sleep saying she is safe.

In book 2 she comes to and she thinks she might be dead because it’s been told by the government that a omega cannot survive their heat without an Alpha knot but somehow she survived which is never really explained. The men who captured her are hired by the government to capture any omegas trying to escape to get them registered into the database to be put into school and auctioned off to an alpha pack. She lies and says her name is Daisy. She eventually tells the man her caught her, Jeremy, who happens to be the cousin to Barrett, who she is and to get word to Oliver that he’s in danger from Lily. She still thinks they betrayed her so she tells Jeremy not to tell them where she is.

Jeremy ends up telling Barrett where she is and that she is safe. Oliver wants to see her and ends up going to the academy just to see her. There Mila is told she’s too old for the school and she will be stream lined to the auction… I think if she had this would have been a better plot for the guys to save her… or her to fight her way back. Since she’s been there she has been the target of bullies so she ends up losing her shit on one of the girls and she’s appended. Gryphon is there and attacks the guard her has her pinned and their pack is banned from the school. They are thinking they have lost their chance at getting her back. Mila is sulking in her cell thinking she’s never going to be free, when Lily comes and offers her to go back to the pack but she has to be her pawn and betray them for her freedom. She feels she has no choice so she agrees.

They guys grovel when they get her back and Lachlan is adorable. Mila is twisted up inside about having to betray the guys. Eventually Gryphon catches on and she eventually confides in him but not before she goes into heat again… it’s another enigma that isn’t well explained since it isn’t normal. She takes Oliver first, then Barrett and lastly Lachlan. Gryphon doesn’t feel welcomed or deserving yet. After her heat she admits to the guys about Lily and they feel guilty that they made her feel she had not other choice. I love a groveling story but other than Gryphon I don’t see what the other guys did wrong because technically they didn’t betray her because Lily stopped them from getting to her so it just didn’t sit right with me.

They find out that the Beta governor isn’t dead and that Lily was hiding him and it’s implied that she’s has something on him but we never find out what that is or who orchestrate trying to kill Mila. When Lily calls Mila for info on the pack she tells Lily (Gryphon’s idea) that Gryphon is the only one against Lily…
This felt like a way to rush the villain arc. When Gryphon and Barrett go to get the Beta Governor to recruit him to their side to get the truth out they find him dead. Lachlan, Mila and Oliver stay behind. Lachlan senses intruders and while he goes out to inspect Mila and Oliver are kidnapped by Lily’s men. It’s confusing what Lily really wants… other than power. It’s implied that her having the only omega male makes her more powerful but she doesn’t want kids so that seems contradictory. She mainly fears that Gryphon will overpower her and she wants to take everything he loves away to put him in his place.

Gryphon challenges her and he gets her to surrender but then she tries to attack him from behind and the guards see who she really is and she loses her power. Over desperation she goes to attack Mila but Oliver shoots her and leaves her to Laughlin to kill. They are finally free to be a family and Gryphon gets to mark her into the pack. I was hoping for more of them as a pack and maybe I’ll get more in the other books… I hope because I just didn’t feel the happy closure. Too many holes to make the villain a believable character and it just didn’t make overall sense… for me.

Disappointing

So u read Spare when it first released and I was so excited for the second book. It took me a few days to actually get to it as I was finishing up some other series. The beginning started where Spare ended and the first few chapters held my interest. The rest of the book went down hill. The writing was stilted, not like her other books whose writing flows and makes sense. This one had weird turns of phrase, sentences that didn’t seem to be fully formed and also had run on sentences. The over use of the term “creature” was weird, like the way it was used completely evaded me what the meaning was. Sentences about the FMC being the Governors “creature” I have no idea what that supposed to mean. The biggest disappointment is that both governors have a plot and involve members of the Hart pack. But we never find out what the plot is. What purpose Hart pack serves to either of the governors. The biggest issue with books for me is resolution of plots. I don’t mind working through a story, but I want to have my questions answered by the end. Another issue I have with this books is each characters beliefs that the pack needed to make amends for something with the FMC. When actually “what had happened was” a ton of miscommunication. The only thing the FMC was justified holding against them is how they treated her when she first arrived at their home. The rest was blatant interference from Governor Lily. But the over the top groveling by Laughlin, the rest of the pack feeling like they were unworthy was unfounded and seemed to be contrived to give an air of drama to the lacking storyline and plot. With a title of Beta Trials to only have a stilted experience of one recruit in the beta trials seems shortsighted. The first book could have carried the storyline and plot resolution better and made way for book two to highlight another beta in the trial. Now there’s a third book that eludes to Oliver’s estranged sister being found, seems like it doesn’t track with the beta trial theme. Another plot hole that is glaringly obvious is FMCs scent. It seems unlikely that the Hart pack can decent her but no one else has ever been able to? I feel like this book was written with the expectation of having a following like The Beta, but it fell so short. I generally like Violet Fox but I’m hesitant to read any other books from her in the future.

I loved the first book…

But wasn’t a big fan of this one, I kinda just skimmed through everything cause I couldn’t focus on the storyline. It feels like Mila became completely pathetic and sad, and I get she was mourning and struggling on her own at first but she should’ve at least immediately confronted the guys and talk. Her communication in the first book with Oliver was so good and now it’s barely there. Idk it just felt like things were just continuously going down. Plus the other guys kept being sidelined.

I definitely loved the storyline and dynamic with Oliver and Mila. I also liked Lachlan but like the multiple personalities or crazy thing was thrown in this book and not mentioned really in the first. I feel like I would’ve loved to see more of that beginning to end with how multiple personalities really work. Barret barely existed and gryphon kinda just was the mean guy who couldn’t even apologize until the end.

not good

This took such a weird turn from part 1, all the characters suddenly seam different, the plot made no sense and fml became pathetic. I never understood why she was so Anngry at the alphas for something they didn’t control and considering she knew who the villain was it made no sense. Such a let down

Spoilers Ahead

There are so many things running through my thoughts about this duet. This is the closing chapter of our now omega girl Mila, her omega scent match Oliver and now her three alpha's Lachlan, Barret and Gryphon.
The last book closed with Mila feeling abandoned and betrayed by her pack, the loss of her dad fresh and a sudden heat fully turning our lonely girl fully into her omega designation. Being forced into the Omega Academy is hard enough, but Governer Lily has plans and those plans involve our girl betraying the pack for her own freedom.

Being back in the pack house is difficult and while her men are trying to get in her good graces, our girl is torn with guilt and confĥusion. Gryphon realizes something isn't right and surprisingly handles it all well and they plan an attack to free them of this twisted woman, while also nurturing the bonds that have been strained by everything leading up to this point.

The ending was satisfying and I still love Lachlan. He was sweet, protective and the most emotion driven of the group and I loved that.
As much as I absolutely loved the first book, this one didn't have much of a pull for me, but it was still a great read with a HEA. I felt like the story was dragging out farther than needed and somehow Mila's oomph of strength faltered then poofed out of exisyence the moment Lily showed up, which was a whole 180 shockfest and if there was something that gave reason to it, I honestly didn't see it.

Lastly the groveling wasn't bad, just not at all what I expected. Each one was unique to each character and varied in intensities. It was a great change and I loved that it was individualized rather than all combined.

I love that she hated the school so much. She thought they had abandoned her. They didn’t, somehow Lily messed with their phones and then stopped them from going to see her. While in the woods she had a heat was found, saved and then sent to the omega school. Oliver and Gryphon went into the school, she didn’t want to see them. Lily paid her a visit and basically blackmailed her into going back to them and betray them. She went back and Lachlan was groveling hard! Oliver decided to make her a nest and it was perfect. She decided she wanted to stay and not betray them. She went through another heat. Oliver was there, then Barrett, then Lachlan freed himself from the basement and joined too. Barrett’s cousin helped her, but he also gave information that proved the beta governor wasn’t dead. One night Lachlan sees someone outside and chases them, only for the house to get blown up and both the omegas taken. Gryphon challenges Lily to an alpha duel and wins. She tries to attack after she surrenders. She gets killed. Gryphon, Lachlan and Barrett all bite her into the pack and they redo the best in the basement that combines both their tastes.

I waited until I read both books to render judgement, and I really wish I had "spare"d myself the pain of reading the two books. The plot was somewhat decent. But as with most storybook romances, there's a huge misunderstanding that keeps Mila from her pack. But misunderstandings usually make sense, and this one doesn't. All the pack had to say was "We tried to call you several times, but the call wouldn't connect. Then we thought something must be wrong, so we tried to come to you. Only the house was surrounded by men with guns who wouldn't let us leave." Mila would have understood, since she was the victim of Lily's ruthless games as well. All of the groveling the men did really makes no sense, considering they did nothing wrong. They acted more like betas. Also, the sex scenes were straight up trash. Seriously, you totally skipped over the details of the first anal sex? That seems kind of important.

What I have understood about this book:

If you are an Omega and you love pastel color you suck (and the author clearly hate it too, I read about it so many times)
The two Omegas of pack Hart have blue and green eyes (again, I think in EVERY chapter at least 1 time there's a reference about it)
If you have to be stealthy because your governor it's suspicious about you, it's totally normal to a) go to the Omegacenter for searching your Omega and b) when they call your pack back to take that Omega without making a peep about the fact that you already have one, it's totally cool

Jokes aside, this book was a delusion. The writing didn't improve, the characters were absurd (like ok, you what a psychopath in the pack, give me a backstory about Lachlan, not just "ah yes, sometimes we leave him in time out, otherwise known as chained to a wall") and in the and even the story was pretty bad. Pretty sad, I had hope about it.

4 ⭐

⭐ didn't like/DNF
⭐⭐ was okay but I probably won't look for any sequels
⭐⭐⭐ it was good I'll likely read the next one
⭐⭐⭐⭐ I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great and I'll definitely be looking for any sequels
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I loved it so much I'm adding it to my cart to buy paperback

Hmm ... I thoroughly enjoyed book 1. Loved the fmc and the plot but book 2 just fell a little short.
Mila does a complete 180. She went from strong and independent to pathetically whiny, scared and subservient. They were two different characters. Even in the final "battle" She does nothing...
We now know a third book will be made this time about Ollie's sister Isabelle hopefully in that they explain some of the unresolved plots. What was the beta government up to in book 1? It started off hinting that Mila and/or Ollie would make an omega seat in council and change things yet nothing on that front?

not neatly as good as the first

The first book was really well done. Too bad this one fell short. I found myself just skimming it.

Mila is irrational and blames the guys for abandoning her, when a simple chat would have cleared it up in about two minutes. Then she forces them to grovel mid-heat? I hated her in this book.

I think Gryphon was right to hold himself back. I would have walked away from the whole lot of them if it was me.

Plot holes, disjointed flow, and just the fact this could have been completed in one book shows that I will probably not read this author again. Also, I may have skipped over it, but if the three guys and Oliver are scent matches and Oliver and Mila are scent matches, doesn’t logic dictate they would all scent match each other? Makes no sense.

A Quick Omegaverse Duology with All the Rejected Mates Drama

This two-book duology stays true to its omegaverse roots, complete with all the rejected mates drama! While the storyline feels a bit like a flip of book one and doesn’t really leave much to the imagination, it makes for a quick, easy read if you’re in the mood for something light. There’s not a lot of deep character or relationship development, so it keeps things simple and straightforward.

On the bright side, if you enjoy multi POV, fated mates, and a storyline that doesn’t get too tangled in complexity, this might be the perfect pick. It’s an easy way to get your fill of omegaverse without a huge time commitment!

Tropes:
• Rejected Mates
• Omegaverse
• Dual POV
• Fated Mates
• Quick and Easy Read

Only venture into this series is your looking for nothing too complex with no surprises.

These books are pretty bad. I would suspect AI, they're that formulaic and directly plagarized from other books, but AI has better grammar. So. Many. Ellipses.

The books kinda scratch an itch, but that's about it. I really just wanted to write a review to talk about one thing.

If everyone in your school hates you 'because you're the top of the class', and then everyone in your next school hates you 'because you're the bottom of the class', it's much more likely they all hate you because you're an arsehole.

You. You are the problem Mila. Not every single other person in the world. You.

No matter how super-special-snowflake-porcelain-doll-yet-supposedly-badass you are, I'm pretty sure you're also an arsehole.

OK, now I can move on.

DNF … not my cup of tea … but it could be yours

read book 1 which was ok … it was a very slow burn and almost YA and stilted in the way it was written ….was kind of hoping the story line would pick up pace or that the FMC would become more interesting or at least develop a sense of humour in this book 2 … hopefully that did happen …. but i lost interest before it did …. needless to say there will definitely be readers who will love this duet … just not me

⭐️ because the author deserves some recognition and kudos for taking the time and energy to write this - (but please don’t make me read it again) … however correct word use / spelling / grammar / punctuation / professional proof reading and editing are a vital necessity all writers need to fully embrace like a long lost and greatly desired lover and never let go of …

⭐️⭐️ so close and yet so far for … loved the concept just not the delivery for various reasons … but most likely because of the glaringly obvious lack of professional proofreading and editing skills … and /or … one if not all … of the main characters made me want to slap them (and not in a good / fun/ sexy way) because they were utterly annoying or worse boring …. but i am sure some other readers will love it… just not me ..

⭐️⭐️⭐️ things that make you go hmmmm …. but not : oh my god yes give me more … and because correct spelling/ grammar/ punctuation and professional proof reading and editing of a book are essential for any story to flow smoothly …. still worth the time to read … who knows you might love it …

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ definitely worthy of songs of praise and numerous re reads …
but not quite a 5⭐️ simply because of editing/ spelling / grammar / punctuation/ wrong words used / wrong names or wrong physical descriptions of main characters / minor story line issues (all things that are a pet hates of mine and make me grumpy) which interrupted the flow of the story and forced me out of my happy reading bubble and back into reality …

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ gah… I’ve found the meaning of life and couldn’t stuff the story into my greedy brain fast enough …. loved it so much i will willingly make snacks / give massages / oversee human sacrifices if it helps the author ( who is a true god/ goddess of story telling and worthy of worship and copious amounts of adulation ) write more books immediately so i can buy them and hoard them like a wanna be dragon ….
in other words … drop everything and read this book right now and you can thank me later 😁

I give a 3.5⭐️ I enjoyed the overall plot. Part One hooked me to the story from the start. In Part Two, I struggled with the pack dynamics. It felt like a love triangle inside of the pack with 2-3 alphas always feeling excluded. That's just not my jam.
I also expected Mila to keep some of her awesome "Top graduate from Beta military training", but she became a complete damsel.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love a good grovel. The groveling in this book bordered on petty/cruel on both of the omegas' parts.
Side note: I love Lachlan! He was amazing, and I wish that at least one member of the pack would have accepted ALL sides of his personality instead of always talking/thinking sh#tty things about him. 💔

What a change in personality Mila makes. She goes from a tough, hard to bother Beta to a whiney, cowering mess. I know that she's dealing with extenuating circumstances, but it was such a dramatic change that she became almost completely unlikable. And because the MMCs, Gryphon, Lachlan, Barrett, and Oliver, were convinced that they needed to grovel for her forgiveness (although, really only Gryphon might have needed to apologize), their own personalities changed.

There were so many glaring plot holes that popped up in this that I really had problems ignoring them. I don't really have high standards when it comes to reverse harems and even less for het-omegaverse, but this just felt so lackluster compared to other similar books.

I Liked it

So the book was not bad. Really loved the heart felt ending. One thing that I was like huh to is how Mila was so quick to turn away from her pack , she felt like they should have been there for her first heat and for her when her dad died. I feel like why hold that against them they didn’t even know you were an omega let alone know you were in heat. Also maybe one of them could have went with her for her dad but Oliver was healing and she was promising to come back. Another this Lechan all of a sudden is this crazy alpha that needs to be locked away every now and then because he looses his mind from time to time. I feel like the Lead alpha had the biggest growth in this book. But all in all loved the book.

When we left Mila at the end of her first book, catastrophe had struck! She was abandoned by Pack Hart, and then she was banished to the woods. Things were NOT going well for her! Luckily, Violet Fox is some sort of author genius, and she managed to write a beautiful conclusion to Mila’s story! I won’t give any spoilers, but here are some things to think about: What happens to her in the woods? Does Ollie ever forgive Gryphon for being a jerk in book 1? Will Mila ever find a pack that actually loves her? Will Lily get what’s coming to her? Read this book to find out! I haven’t slept yet in my excitement to find out myself!

Definitely not my jam…

Book one was okay, I didn’t love it but it was interesting enough to read book two to see how everything wrapped up. I honestly wish I had just left it at book one and made up my own conclusion because this was a whole hot mess.

The writing for me was aaaaaaall over the place. None of the characters stayed true to their personalities from book one, the main conflict is so under developed that it barely exists, and the whole thing read almost cheesy to me. I’m honestly very surprised by the number of five star ratings, but I guess that just shows that every book is not for everybody. I think this author is just not for me, and that’s fine.

Don’t bother, rather read Pack Darling by Lola Rock,

It just kept getting worse. This is a not a pack, just people who sometimes share heats, but even then, not really. The Alphas all did not care about their bandmates, there's was no cohesion, to the very end. There was no clear source of conflict, we don’t know why Lily did what she did, there was no actual reason for anything that happened.

This was badly written, plot was all over the place. Just a mess.

This is just a sad dupe for Pack Darling. My advice? Spare yourself, and read Lola Rock’s Pack Darling duet instead.

The universe was minimally expanded on, when it could’ve shown so much more. The character growth is almost nonexistent and the interactions remain relatively the same. The FMC has a very repetitive contradictory internal monologue, of “I have all this training” opposite “I have no choice”, overall the FMC is written as very simple without forethought in her views.

The mystery remains stunted in it’s reveals, nothing is truly explained as to how we got to certain points in the story, and why the choices were made by the antagonist. We don’t delve deeply into any character really let alone the motivations of the antagonist of the story.
