The Dead and Not So Dead #1-3

The Dead and the Not So Dead: Completed Trilogy

Rate this book
What’s better than being Queen of the Dead?

Having four really attractive best friends that aren’t romantically interested in you.

I’m joking—it sucks.

I couldn’t fully blame them though. I mean, why would two powerful vampires, a century-old demon, and a lethal wolf shifter be interested in little old me?

Although, I couldn’t discredit myself completely, because let’s be clear—I’m awesome. The fun combat boot, leather-wearing type of awesome that hangs out with the dead because frankly?

The living are pretty annoying.

The Dead & Not So Dead series is a lighthearted, fast-burn paranormal reverse harem trilogy. It will feature one strong female heroine and six powerful men who plan on helping Narcissa rule and protect New Orleans by any means possible…even if it's from a threat from a different realm.

Completed collection features all novels in The Dead and the Not So Dead

Queen of the Dead

Tea Time with the Dead

Dying for the Dead

Series You can bet that our characters will be swearing up a storm in New Orleans. Expect elements of horror such as gore, violence, and an array of other topics dealing with death. Sexual themes are suitable for mature audiences. +18

This trilogy was absolutely amazing. It had me laughing and wondering what was going to happen next. I loved her Harem of men and how they all complimented each other.

Love omnibus

If you have been wanting to read this series, now is the time to do it. You get to read them all, and you get a bonus at the end. I loved this series when it first came out, and I love the little touches that have been added.
What's the Queen of the Dead supposed to do now that she’s graduated from high school...yes high school? Well, save the world, try and figure out how to date, because hello...her friends have decided to tell her how they feel. I love this world

This was such an incredible series the first time I read it, but now, with the the added and updated content, I love it even more.

There was not a single thing that I disliked about this series. I absolutely loved Narcissa, her men, and their fabulous story.

The storyline, storytelling, pace, and flow are all fantastic, as are the characters, character development, relationship development, and world building. I definitely highly recommend this Omnibus.

This is a completed why choose paranormal trilogy by M Sinclair all in one book. Narcissa is Queen of the dead and you would think this make it easy to find love! Narcissa has 4 best guy friends, 2 vampires, a wolf shifter and a demon, who she has been in love with but don’t seem to have the same feelings she has but why are they so protective of her? Then there is the leprechaun and the voodoo priest who can’t seem to stay away! This book was entertaining dealing with Narcissa and her love life and trying to save New Orleans from some bad guys!

This is one of M. Sinclair’s earlier published work’s released as an omnibus with bonus material.

The female main character is quirky and powerful. The men are uniquely different from each other that it is difficult to choose a favourite. The story is well written and entertaining. I enjoyed the bonus material at the end.

If you read it when it originally came out, it is well worth the re-read. I you haven’t read it, then this book is a great way to spend your time.

This trilogy is packaged together for the first time with a special bonus epilogue not included in the original book

Queen of the dead
Narcissa, like her grandmother has necromancer abilities. It runs in her family and carries the title Queen of the dead and as grandmother doesn't want the title or the responsibility that goes with it Narcissa has inherited the title.
I thought this book was really amazing. I loved the character of Narcissa and how she is oblivious to how the guys feel about her while she herself is crushing on them hard and is also such a strong character. Narcissa has just left high school and I often avoid stories with characters that age as they can sometimes read quite juvenile but this was far from it and I loved the way they were in established friendships before they became lovers

Tea time with the dead
Narcissa now knows that her suspicions about Nero and Asmodeus being behind the killings were correct. Nero wants Narcissa out of New Orleans so he can take over and Asmodeus simply wants Narcissa. Nope, not going to happen. Problem is, there is a little problem of some missing shifters that limits what Narcissa and her tribe of merry men can do, unless they can find them. Searching proves fruitless which is where a tea party comes in. A tea party for the dead, who just might know something. After all, they do love to gossip.

I loved this with a passion. And I wasn't the only one feeling passion. The relationships between Narcissa and her six loves heat up, get the fans out! I love the developing storyline and that climactic ending

Dying for the dead
The final installment comes with action, heat and lots of surprises. Narcissa's parentage comes to light and she is finally in a position to end the standoff with Nero and Asmodeus. It's a satisfying ending and the last portion of the book is really wrapping up all the loose ends. I loved Narcissa and her 6 men and hate to say goodbye as I have become quite attached to them

Bonus epilogue
This focus is on Narcissa's daughter and it looks like she really is a chip of the old block! It is strongly hinted that there is more coming and I will be keeping my eyes peeled for this

"The Dead and the Not so Dead" by M. Sinclair is a compelling trilogy now conveniently compiled into a single volume! It is comprised of the novels "Queen of the Dead," "Tea Time with the Dead," and "Dying for the Dead."

Enter the world of Narcissa, an 18-year-old with a charming quirkiness and an extraordinary talent – she's a necromancer and the undisputed Queen of the Dead. Her character is a blend of badassery, intelligence, and a delightful sense of humor. The first book lays the foundation for the story, as we delve into Narcissa's world and discover the men who are infatuated with her. Unbeknownst to her, her closest male friends harbor deep affections for her, and it doesn't take long for them to make their feelings known. Among her admirers are Raphael, Alaric, Abel, Dorian, Declan, and Zachariah. Sometimes men in a larger harem get overlooked, but the author did a fabulous job making each relationship unique. The romance in this series is a gradual burn, but the palpable tension will undoubtedly keep you engaged (and things do eventually heat up!)

Narcissa finds herself navigating the chaos of New Orleans, plagued by random attacks orchestrated by the princes of hell. Her relationships with each of her men intensifies and we get several sweet moments. Narc’s devoted men are unwaveringly committed and willing to go to great lengths to protect her – a swoon-worthy aspect of the story. Seriously, I can’t even pick a favorite guy in the harem because they are all so incredible.

In the end, Narcissa and her men find their well-deserved happily-ever-after. This series offers the perfect blend of passion, intrigue, and humor. Narc is different than several of this author’s normal heroines, which I loved so much! It's a must-read!

Tropes: Paranormal romance, reverse harem, slow burn, demons, wolf shifters, demigods, vampires, necromancer, voodoo priest, magic, virgin heroine, happily-ever-after
Heat: 3/5

Queen Of The Dead Book 1

I have not read this series as individual books so it is fantastic that I have them all together. This book has a lot of humor throughout it. It pulled me in so very quickly from the very beginning. Narcissa is this sweet and funny lady who also knows how to be strong and kick-butt when needed. I loved getting to know her and the guys. Raphi, Alaric, Abel, Dorian, Zachariah, and Delcan all add their own special flare to the story. There is a lot of action, drama, and suspense throughout the first book. It definitely had me on the edge of my seat with anticipation. I am loving that after that major ending to the first book that I don’t have to wait to see what happens next. The story is absolutely excellent.

Tea Time With The Dead Book 2

The second book is a really quick, fun read that pulls you in and keeps you glued to it. It seems Narcissa and the guys can’t catch a break throughout this one. It is nonstop throughout the entire book. It is extremely well written and developed. I loved the tea time with her and the guys. It has moments that just makes you laugh so hard. Then we get to that major cliffhanger at the end and let me tell you I am so happy that I don’t have to wait to read the next book. Absolutely loving this series.

Dying For The Dead

The third book was fantastic. It is full of surprising revelations. We get answers to questions that plagued us throughout the series. It is jammed packed with action, drama, and suspense. It had me on the edge of my seat with anticipation. I absolutely loved this series and how much fun it was. This story/series is definitely a fantastic read. It has some humor that just adds that extra element to the story. The ending of the story was perfect. I absolutely loved how it ended. This is definitely a must read.

The Dead and Not So Dead (Completed Trilogy) by M Sinclair, is a 3 books series is a paranormal why-choose romance.  Narcisse is the Queen of The Dead.  Living in New Orleans she has her work cut out for her keeping the ghosts, demons, shifters, and vampires all in line.  However she has the help of her 4 bests friends.  As Narcissa turns 18 things become awkward as a local demigod and voodoo priest show their interest.  Despite her crush on her 4 best friends she won't stay single forever.  In the middle of all this a threat reveals itself.  Will the 6 men she desires most be able to help her catch this new threat and protect New Orleans?

I LOVED this series.  It had the best characters.  Narcisse is such a badass but also has a softer side that she keeps hidden for her best friends only.  She is powerful and a born ruler.  I love how she's no nonsense, full of attitude and sass.  The men are all amazing, tough, handsome, and willing to do anything to keep Narcissa and New Orleans safe.  The world building is amazing in this series!

This book has it all romance, horror, and plenty of laughs.  I rated this series 5 out of 5 stars. It was such a fun read that I flew through the pages either fanning myself and laughing most of the time. I'd say this a medium burn with a slow building crescendo of lust!  It was a little hard being patient with the characters when you can see them all trying to figure out how to pull out of the friend zone, good thing the 4 guys had a little help.

The Dead and Not So Dead has so many great elements and tropes.  If you like stories that include found family, friends to lovers, alpha males with touch her die vibes, why-choose, horror elements, lots of supernatural characters, and tons of humor, all wrapped up with an evil stalker you will LOVE The Dead And Not So Dead by M Sinclair!

Good Book

I liked this one, I’m glad I waited for the entire series to be out before reading. If I could I would rate it 3.5 stars. It wasn’t great, it didn’t have me sitting at the edge of my seat like most of M. Sinclairs stories.
I wasn’t to sure how I would feel with the female lead character already being Queen of the supernaturals in NOLA. Usually there’s a build up to being Queen in stories. It threw me, but M. Sinclair made it work. The guys hid their feelings as most guys in love do when they are waiting for that perfect moment. Then she says yes to a date from a guy that’s been hanging around but isn’t part of the males she friends with. They get territorial over her and they finally tell her how they feel. I called who the meat suit was before it was revealed. I’m confused as to why they describe her as all powerful but she can’t find shifters in her town, nor can she take down 2 super powerful demons that inhabited the mayor and his son. She also didn’t catch on Jonathon was possessed by Asmodeous. I loved her character portrayal of being a bada$$ character that loves the feel of the wind while riding her bike, using her necromancer powers to show dominance, sassy and loveable. The guys were all great, I loved that her guys were all different species and we got to learn more about who they truly were when we read their point of views. All in all, the connections were great. Very balanced. The hurtful things her mom said and did, I don’t know if I would be as forgiving as she was. Nor forgiving of Leonard trying to screw someone on her bed. She seemed to be a push over that way so it didn’t really match her bada$$ vibe the book usually showed her as.

I believe "The Dead and the Not So Dead" trilogy, is perfect for those who love something Halloween-themed but don't want to take the whole vibe too seriously... This series is a little crazy and over the top at times, with a barely eightteen-year-old as the queen of the dead, petty and slightly mean ghosts, a grandma who's busier with her garden than her granddaughter and a harem of men who have been waiting for ages to claim their woman.

I quite enjoyed the weird vibe though; it was a pleasant change after reading some darker books and it really managed to take my mind off the disturbing things happening in my life and the world right now. If you start thinking things through too much, it might throw you off from the storyline, but if you just want to enjoy some ridiculousness, this series is perfect. And let's be honest: can't we all imagine being eightteen again and being so powerfull the whole world is scared of you? Add a nice big harem on top of that, and in some ways, she's living my teenage dreams...

The main reason why I sticked to a four star rating, is because when you read all three books back to back, there is quite a bit of repetition, especially at the start of book two. At some point I just started to scroll through parts of the book because I already knew a lot of the stuff that was repeated there. It threw me a little out of the story each time, while I believe the author wanted to reach the opposite when she wrote it back when there was time between books...

*Reverse Harem
*Paranormal
*Multi-PoV
*death magic
*secret lineage
*war
*mixed supes
*building harem (6)
*slow burn 🔥
*trilogy
Fun fast paced
There’s nothing quite like this book out there! 😄
Our FMC is newly graduated Narcissa a powerful necromancer giving her the the title of the Queen of the Deaf which incidentally positions her as Queen over all the supes in New Orleans! Although they may be scared of her magic and her bad’butt’ery she’s genuinely a caring and protective leader 🥰 she’s also a tad oblivious 😅 her best friends have been in love with other her for years and despite her having her own crushes on them she thought they only saw her as a sister figure…cue some embarrassing and awkward moments 😂 which is a theme throughout this trilogy- you will giggle along with her internal monologue!
Each of her relationships with her men are as individual as they are - you have the sour and sweet vampire twins Alaric and Abel, cheeky demon Dorian, her ride and die wolf shifter Raphael then there’s slightly psychotic voodoo priest Zachariah and the possessive Demi-god Declan - although this is slow burn and mid build there are some hot moments but a big focus on their support of her 😍
Which she needs to fight off those trying to take her Kingdom away from her 😖😖
I like the additional twist we get regarding lineage which added a dimension to the story.
And you definitely get a solid HEA, also loved the extended epilogue with a look into Cleo 😄

I couldn't believe that I never read this series for M. Sinclair, but it being in an omnibus plus a bonus epilogue, count me in!

Queen of the Dead- Narcissa, has necromancer abilities, as it runs in her family, and she is the Queen of the Dead. She inherited the title after her grandmother didn't want the title or the responsibilities that come with it.
Narcissa was a great FMC, it's quite funny seeing that she has no clue that the guys feel something more for her while she also likes them. It was nice to see the established friendship before they became lovers. I like stories like that you can see the bound beyond the physical.

Tea Time with the Dead - Narcissa has her suspicions about who's behind the 'unalivings' are correct. The title made me giggle, cause it made me think of Alice in Wonderland, with the Mad Hatter, not sure why LOL. But the problem doesn't go away when she finds out who's behind everything going wrong. There are key people missing and the Tea Party helps them find who they're looking for. I loved the character growth that we were able to see within this book.

Dying for the Dead - It wouldn't be a finale without some twists, action, heat and a few surprises. Narcissa also finds out her who her parents are, and she's finally in a better position to take down the evil. It's a great ending and even though I wasn't ready to say goodbye to them all, I did love seeing them get their HEA.

I don't want to spoil the bonus, but it's so good, and hopefully eludes to something fun coming!?

This complete trilogy also with the bonus content, of Narcissa who is a necromancer and Queen of the dead, living in New Orleans, is an amazing set of books, starting with how Narcissa came to be the queen, before she graduated high school, living with her grandmother who is also a necromancer, but she had given up wanting to rule. How she had came to meet her group of 6 amazing men, Zacariah, Voodoo Priest, Declan, Demigod of Luck, Raphael Sanchez(Raphi),the werewolf, Alaric and Abel Vladern the twins, were vampires, Dorian, a incubus. How she rules with strength, some intimadation, and kindness. How her men with their over possessive, and protectiveness help and will do anything for her. How Narcissa has to deal with the living and with the dead such as her mother and aunt. When two demons try to force her to come to hell with them, by killing innocents, she goes to the dead and asks for help, and when her own mother sets her up in plan that does lead her to hell. The betrayal she feels and what she most do find the people that have been taken, makes for an amazing story. Narcissa has never known her father, what happens when she finds out who they are? How does she and her men, resolve the problem with the demons. What is the twist you don't see coming? I for one love the bonus content, that gives how their lives change in the future. This trilogy is one you should not miss reading.

The Dead and Not So Dead is the complete collection of books in this trilogy and I had never heard of it, but overall I enjoyed the series.
Narcissa is fresh out of high school, and the Queen of Undead on NOLA. Sounds pretty great, right? She's got her group of men, but well, that's not all it's kicked up to be. The romance is apparently nowhere in sight, but that's simply because...mixed and missed signals. Gotta love it, right? This is a "fast-burn" romance, but you'll still be waiting awhile before things get steamy. Honestly, even when things do kick into gear, it's kinda slow and one at a time until you get to the brothers. Plus, she's never slept with anyone before, and does everything with these guys without a hitch? Hmmm...cue raised skeptical eyebrow. LOL! Sorry, not sorry.
I wasn't too keen on her being barely of age. I get it as the Queen of the Undead she's going to be around for a few centuries, but still. I'd have preferred her to be older than she is. Especially when several of the guys are centuries older than her. I'd just prefer a touch more balance. But that's me. I also wasn't a fan of some of the repetition later on in the series. I get repeating some elements to remind readers, but when it becomes too much...edit it out. Please.
I enjoyed this book and the twists the author throws in here and there. Narc has quite a good time with her variety of men, and let me tell ya I envy her for all of that deliciousness. LOL!

M. Sinclair has brought together all three books in her The Dead and the Not So Dead series in one box set. This series was a hoot and completely unexpected.

It had everything. A spunk MFC who is ultra-powerful, all heart, and has a great sense of humor, all the while trying to fight her cute syndrome. Let's not forget her super hot supernatural guys who are all in from the start. It was freaking adorable how much they obviously loved her. Plus there's a host of colorful supernatural characters that include wolf shifters, vampires, hellhounds, and more. Not to mention an adorable little Hellcat.

There were dark moments but it was a surprisingly light and fun series. I enjoyed the romance and (of course) steam but the plot was good as well. It's tough being Queen. There were a lot of supernatural politics, a bunch of problems including a supernatural stalker and family drama. The ending surprised me, I didn't expect the story to go the way it did. Sure there were plot twists, and unexpected developments but it was surprisingly simple in the best of ways. There are also a few bonus scenes in the box set that were fantastic.

The Dead and the Not So Dead was a great series. Each book is a quick read that is filled with humor and magic. I completely devoured this series in one weekend. What more could I ask for in a paranormal romance?

An amazing series! This box set includes a bonus bonus chapter at the very end that has me on the edge of my seat!

Book 1
WHAT A QUEEEEEEENN!

Spice: 2/5 slow burn

This series is starting off to be *chefs kiss*! We have a total BA young queen who is able to be herself around those she loves while maintaining a strong head over those she rules. Not one of those young whiny ones who pretend to be a BA but really let’s everyone else do the work.

The guys, all 6 of them are just the perfect mixture for her. They love and support her fully. Allowing her to be a BA in public and be herself at home. They don’t force their opinions on her nor force her to tamper herself. Truly a get combination of guys for her. Can’t wait to see how they develop now that everything is out in the open.

The plot mainly builds the second half once we get the building of who our FMC is, who the guys are to her and the other side characters built. It’s shaping up to be an interesting mix of past stalker paired with current stalker. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Book 2

CLIFFHANGER

Spice: 2/5

SCREAMING! I did not see that coming! What a twist, while I’m not surprised I’m also super surprised. I ignored every warning sign.

The plot is picking up, but no actual progress was made forward. I mean the relationships progressed, and definitely they are my favorite part of this series. I love the guys. The actual “fight” in this series didn’t move forward much besides us finding more issues and working to put together exactly what’s all wrong and needs our BA FMC to fix. Love reading about her putting people in their place. She’s never a complete B**** but she definitely doesn’t take crap either.

My only complaint is I don’t like how the author is re-describing everyone and things that were already described in detail in book one. I get needing a small recap but it felt like 1/4 of this book was just repeating from the first book.

Book 3

perfect ending!

Spice: 2/5

This was such a perfect ending! I loved how everything was wrapped up and that bonus epilogue was the best thing ever. The ending was not rushed at all, it really spanned this entire novel so we had everything cleared up in such a way that flowed smoothly.

One of my favorite series by M. Sinclair!

Goes to show…

I’ve read ALOT of M. Sinclair’s books. I absolutely adore the possessive, psychotic men she creates for her heroines, and this one was no different. I thought that I knew all of her books, so this one took me by surprise when I found out about it. It just goes to show that there’s always something new out there that you learn lol. I had no idea M. had written this, but I am absolutely grateful that it’s a finished trilogy. Those that have read my past reviews know that I don’t. Like. Cliffhanger’s. They suck…
And, unfortunately, suck you in lol.
I’ll admit it took me a bit to get into this book, but that’s on me and not the actual story, since I’m going through some things and my mind wanders too easily which makes it difficult to immerse myself in reading like I normally do.
I enjoyed Narc, she’s bad-a** and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself… but obviously she has her insecurities and vulnerabilities. And I adored the fact that in these books, the guys weren’t already a formed group, so you got to read about how they learned to adjust to each other. They all blended so perfectly.
This updated trilogy came out around the perfect time too! Halloween!
Definitely recommend, especially for the season we currently find ourselves in.

I know when I dive into a new series from this authour, I am going to immerse myself into a unique and creative world, with amazing characters. This series was exactly what I needed to read in this moment. The FMC is kick butt on the outside, but a complete softy with her men, Her men are completely and utterly devoted to her , in all their OTP ways. These men and Narcissa are extremely powerful individuals and they use their power and status to help. They are by Narc’s as she takes on the roll of Queen of the dead, but there is more to her power than they fully understand , their journey to stop killings also leads them to some unexpected truths! and it was just a fun, lighter read that was just so good to read. The plot, while less dark than my recent reads is still thick and intriguing, the world building is well done and creative, these characters had my heart racing, they made me laugh and shake my head, the spice was spicy, the drama was exciting! Overall this entire series was very entertaining, well written and quite enjoyable! I wonder if we will see these characters again? I definitely wouldn’t mind that! Either way I am always excited to read anything this authour treats us with!

I’d never heard of this series before, but if you’ve been wanting to read it now is the time. I picked up this one because it was set in New Orleans and since I was born and raised here I’m obsessed with it. This is all of the books, and there's even a little bonus at the end.

The Queen of the dead is a necromancer and has finally graduated high school. Now her 4 best friends have admitted to being in love with her. What could possibly go wrong?

She reigns over all the supernaturals in New Orleans and incites fear wherever she goes. She is a fair, caring, and protective leader. She's a rebel, in a way and just super cool. She's had a crush on her best friends for years, but thinks they only see her as a little sister. She has Raphael, who is as overprotective as it gets and he’s a wolf shifter. The demon, Dorian. Then there is Abel and Alaric; one is sweet and the other is moody and they just so happen to be vampire twins. Next we have the voodoo priest, Zachariah, and the Demi-god, Declan, who is a leprechaun. This would be a 5 star, but there was way too much internal monologue for me and a lot of it is just so repetitive.

If you want to read a book series that is written so well and in such a way to make you wish you lived in that world too, then this is the series for you.

Some of my favorite quotes:

"Yer probably roi, lass, I cud stop, but, I won't "

"But, if yer want to test me stamina, lass, I always 'ave a welcome sign on me door for yer"

"I felt like everything in my world centered around her"

Narcs men are just everything! They're swoon worthy, funny, and of course the accents make them even so much more better!

They're so protective over her but, love her enough to realize that she needs to be able to be the queen and do things her way.

The action and world building were very well written and made you feel like you were there in person watching it. I loved how she always had her weapons on her, which indicates she knows how to handle the threat not just with magic but, without as well.

The spice level was amazing! The story built up to it which I liked because, it made the wait so worth it!!

I can't wait to read more books by this author and see what worlds she'll write about next!

Queen of the Dead: Well Narcissus is one crazy, badda$$ Queen of the Dead. She has managed to collect her harem without even realising it, but now it seems that the baddies have come out to play and they must overcome that. I enjoyed how surprised Narc was about her boys all having the hots for her, and how they all bring something different to the table. An enjoyable read once you get into it.
Tea Time with the Dead: As the relationships with her men develop into more, Narc must keep on top of all the crazy going on in the city. The princes from hell, Asmodean and Nero will do anything to get to her, and having a ghost tea party is only one of the crazy things going on. I'm enjoying how all men are so into her, and will do anything for her. And then the book finishes on a cruel cliff-hanger. On to the next book!
Dying for the Dead: The crazy antics continue as Narc keeps fighting the evil trying to take over New Orleans. She meets some surprising new characters, and together they all calm the chaos down. Finally Narc and her men get their HEA. I loved the spiciness in this book, and Narc's wicked sense of humour. A lovely conclusion that ties everything up nicely.

The Dead and the Not so Dead by M. Sinclair is the completed trilogy in one book. This contains
the novels Queen of the Dead, Tea Time with the Dead and Dying for the Dead. Plus it also has a bonus scene. Eek! Anyway this is the first series that I read by this author and what a great adventure this was as I was such a fan. It’s perfect for the spooky season. All the books were written well, the plot was great. The worldbuilding was fantastic and all the books were described to the point I was able to imagine everything I was reading. This took me roughly three days to finish, there were points I didn’t want to put my kindle down. This was a great why choose romance that had New Orleans has a backdrop, two of my favorite things. I loved the spice, the sense of humor and the crazy adventure. Don’t even get me started on the drama. This was a ride of a book. I really enjoyed this trilogy and it all being in one book was super convenient and increased my reading enjoyment. I will definitely be reading more of M. Sinclair’s books. I’m a fan now and I definitely recommend reading this one.

Such a fun series!

I've enjoyed all of these books separately so I'm thrilled that they are all together in a completed trilogy.

I love Narcissa! She is a great fmc, with a touch of cute, that compliment her awesome necromancer powers. She loves New Orleans and wants to protect the supernaturals, even when they act out after brutal attacks start to happen. She figures out quickly that an obsessed demon (he wants to own her) and his power hungry brother (he wants to take New Orleans as his own) are behind the attacks. When they kidnap a bunch of supes, demanding she surrender herself and give up New Orleans, she feels backed into a corner.

It's a good thing she has her grandmother (love her) and her guy friends, the adorable/fierce wolf shifter, the handsome vampire twins, and a sexy demon incubus. Oh...and she might need an extra hand or two. Good thing she also can rely on the stunning voodoo king, and a gruff/charming god. Narc will need everyone's help as she fights for her place as the Queen of the Dead.

This is a great series! The Dead and the Not So Dead is a RH series that is told from multi POV. It has plenty of spice and tons of really sweet moments.

Loved this series so much I read it again, which isn’t usually something I like to do. I read this series before as the books were coming out and loved it. I loved how much of a badazz Narcissa was, how protective and possessive her crazy, sexy harem of men are, and the unique story being told. I mean, it has a freaking leprechaun! Lol. When I heard it was being revamped and extended scenes added I knew I had to read it again and it was so worth it. This story, as well as everything else I’ve read from M Sinclair (which is everything 😉), did not disappoint.
I was easily sucked back into the story, which is my usual problem with re-reading, and enjoyed it even more the 2nd time around. I loved how Narcissa was a take charge kinda Queen, and never let anyone walk all over her. I also loved that her men didn’t interfere and let her rule as she saw fit, while also keeping her safe. I liked the developments in the relationships of Narc and her men and seeing it grew throughout the 3 books. The interesting family dynamic, and just overall world was unique and made it an enjoyable story. Definitely a must read series.

The Dead and Not So Dead - Trilogy

‘Running a hand through my hair, I inhaled, feeling a weird contentment in my chest that I wasn’t used to. Though maybe ‘contentment’ wasn’t the right word. Maybe it was just an equilibrium of my magic that I had craved so long without realizing it. There had been an entire part of me that had been locked away, and its release had brought out a side of my personality that was far calmer. It would take a while to get used to, but honestly, it felt good. I felt far more sure of myself than usual.‘

M. Sinclair has a trilogy of the amazing The Dead and Not So Dead series that includes Queen of the Dead, Tea Time with the Dead, and Dying for the Dead.

This paranormal RH fantasy series takes place in New Orleans where the Queen of the Dead, teenage Narcissa’s adventure begins, and her four best paranormal friends begin to pull their lives together as they create a more intimate relationship.

Many challenges are thrown into this group’s lives, as creatures and humans go missing and Narc and her guys must figure out who is behind the destruction and stop it. Lots of action and magic, all that make these three updated books a fabulous read!

The Queen Has Arrived

What’s better than being Queen of the Dead?

Having four really attractive best friends that aren’t romantically interested in you.

I’m joking—it sucks.

I couldn’t fully blame them though. I mean, why would two powerful vampires, a century-old demon, and a lethal wolf shifter be interested in little old me?

Although, I couldn’t discredit myself completely, because let’s be clear—I’m awesome. The fun combat boot, leather-wearing type of awesome that hangs out with the dead because frankly?

The living are pretty annoying.

I devoured this trilogy in one day. It was funny, sexy, entertaining and spicy. The FMC was a total BadA** but a softie at heart and her6 men who have been pining over her for years were chef's kiss. The Queen of the Dead is running things in New Orleans and being surrounded by her muscle means she kicka** first and take names later.

All three books in this trilogy are all short and entertaining. Keep a fan nearby because Narcissa soon learns that not only is she busy keeping the streets of New Orleans safe but her men are keeping her busy as well.

Queen of the Dead
Narcissa has necromancer abilities like her grandmother and her family also carries the responsibility of the queen of the dead. And since her grandmother doesn’t want the title, she will have to carry on the responsibility for it. She will meet her guys and start falling for them. For what she is taken on after just finishing high school is amazing. Plus to see all the relationships developing at their on speed is incredible to see.

Tea time with the dead
All of the suspicious Narcissa has about Nero and Asmodeus is turning out right. One wants her to leave and the other wants her. Now they have another problem with shifter disappearing. When every turn they can’t find anything about them is when they come to the tea party. This is a great process of the storyline and characters development.

Dying for the dead
This is the final book in Narcissa and the guy’s journey. You will see them getting prepared for the final showdown with Nero and Asmodeus. It will answer all the questions you might have as they fight for their HEA.

This is an excellent trilogy plus this book contains a bonus epilogue. It’s an interesting journey they go through.

Queen of the Dead
We meet Narcissa and her 6 men in this book!
Narcissa is a necromancer and a true queen. She is smart, confident and I loved her sense of humor.
Her guys are each unique and offering something different.
The first part of the book I tells us about who Narc is and sets up the story. We then learn about a stalker.

Tea Time with the Dead
Things really start to pick up in this book.
We get mystery, action, humor and more steam in this book!
I love that we got to see more developments in the relationships between Narc and her guys.
Heads up though, we do get a cliffhanger!

Dying for the Dead
A great conclusion to the series!!
This was probably my favorite of the three books.
We continue to get a few twists. We get our questions answered and explanations.
There was action, drama, more humor and spice.
I think the author does a great job wrapping everything up and giving us a great ending!!

I thought it was a great series, and having it all in 1 book was even better. Plus, we get the extended bonus scene!!

Fun, Sweet, Spicy! A Wonderful Revamp!

This is one of M Sinclair’s early series—but revamped and re-edited, all packaged in a beautiful omnibus! It’s a delightfully fun read, and truly creative in a way M Sinclair excels at! She has a true talent for utterly devoted men, and a heroine who kicks butt in all the best ways.
Narcissa strong, and wise beyond her years due to her magic and standing in society. Her men are from all walks of supernatural life, but I love that they are willing to come together for her sake. It’s wonderful when you get a series where the angst isn’t within the relationship. My absolute favorite trope is the “us against the world” theme.
This is a relatively easy read, with tons of steam and a relatively angst free fight. The big bad isn’t too terrible—and the happy ending is wonderful—while still leaving room for more expansion in the world if she ever feels inclined.
A wonderful read, and a great value given that it’s all three books in one!
