Denji is the most annoying character in this series but I still love him lol 😅 he just wanted see a penguin !! 🥲🐧 I love Asa/Yoru so much, they’re my fave character during these past few volumes. I’m missing Power sm !!
These chapters were way better than the others in Part 2. It feels like everything is adding up now and getting better. Now I can say I can't wait to read the next chapters :))
4.5 stars Now I gotta raise my gr challenge... I went a bit overboard today but OH WELL. I liked this one a lot too, I'm very excited about everything, and I quite like the characters so far!
Denji's date at an aquarium goes awry, as things are wont to do when your body and soul is cleaved to a devil.
The relaunch as a weird high school romantic comedy is not a direction I would have picked, but the characters remain fun and there are hints of something bigger and more consequential brewing in the future.
Im convinced Fujimoto is in reality a 16yo girl. I can not comprehend how a grown man can write such a relatable teen girl protagonist. It truly is a mystery to me
I really loved how this volume focused on the growing relationship of denji and asa,, also the little nods back to older faves <33
06/12/22: Chapter 113: I Wanna See Penguins oh famine looks so cool, and asa is so cute <33,, I'd listen to her talk about starfish for hours,,, not this corridor dude again tho he was bad enough the first time
20/12/22: Chapter 114: Endless Aquarium ooo new characters,, I cannot stand the president but I feel like he's gonna worm his way into being a reluctant fave, that one panel with him popping up through the ceiling took me out,, thats kobenis brother right??? it must be??? at this poiny I'm convinced yoshida is gonna appear at every major plot point and then immediately dip,, hes definitely gonna be important but what's his motive,,
I'm living for denji and asas (reluctant) growing relationship,, I don't care if they end up besties or together but I'm here for it :D
that last panel hit hard tho...
27/12/22: Chapter 115: Highschoolers These Days OH I AM ROOTING SO HARD FOR THEM, WHY IS DENJI SO FUNNY,, HES SUCH A SWEETIE WITH HIS STARFISH,,
yoshida is the funniest man in existence, ur chainsaw man why can't u get us out,, immediately after the president is like lol what no I'm just a chainsaw man fan???
03/01/23: Chapter 116: Taste of Starfish SHE REMINDED HIM OF POWER,, ALL I KNOW IS PAIN,, also the fact he seems to not care where his life but wants to put her through college :'((((
10/01/23: Chapter 117: Penguin and Weapon ooo okay so yoshida is definitely linked with the horsemen,,, how does he know famine,, wait what was famines goal here even??? DENJI AND ASA THO <3333 NOT THE SPINAL CORD SWORD?? IS HE JUST GONNA BRRRR *CHAINSAW NOISES*
17/01/23: Chapter 118: Saying Goodbye of course it didn't work because he's csm lmao,, the mixed signals here,, also the president is just a walking meme all his panels make me cackle.
30/01/23: Chapter 119: Thief oh man this was so awkward at the start,, but they're so cute together,,, that's so many dogs tho bro pls you do not need that many dogs
14/02/2023: Chapter 120: Triangle why is yoshida unintentionally the funniest man,, NOT HER TURNING HER INTO A DOG THO O_o
20/02/2023: Chapter 121: Theory of Happiness LMAOOO NOT HER THINKING HE LIKES HER BUT HIM JUST TELLING HER TO STAY AWAY FROM DENJI- also damn relatable "everyone hates me I am awful, oh wait I'm just tired"
07/03/2023: Chapter 122: The Prophecies what even was this,, fami and yoshida??? I'm so interested in what he knows and how he's linked but also I am a very tired and low key burnt out idiot who has so much more work to do for my deadline and will need to read this again to fully understand

You can really tell that the story is building up to a huge thing between Asa/Yoru & Denji, and I am SO here for it -- but not rushing, 'cause I love the little bits of mystery and intrigue we get along the way. The aquarium date setting in this was really fun - I, too, want to see the penguins! I also learned that starfish can be eaten from this volume, so there's that I guess, lol.
Also, WHAT A CLIFFHANGER! I need to know what happens in the next one!!
Not feeling this one. This volume is dull and uneventful. It's all exposition so nothing is fruitful yet. There are funny moments, like the flip phone scene and the two nearly identical spreads of Asa regurgitating sea animal facts, but Fujimoto has done better. That said, I'm struck by how alike Asa and Denji are. They're both lonely people who desperately crave love, except their loneliness manifests in very different ways.
