Monsters, both human and beast, surrounded him. He needed power to survive this new world... but he arrived as a mortal.
One moment William was at work. The next, he was captured by lunatics.
He had never believed in the fantastical, but he had no choice after finding himself in another world surrounded by demonic cultivators trying to extract his soul. If he couldn't find an escape, his journey would end just as abruptly as it started.
William was inches from death when a benevolent cultivator saved him from that fate. Seeing his pitiful state, the cultivator decided to give him an opportunity in the form of a tool: A system to guide him on the path of cultivation.
William would use it to claw his way to the peak of the cultivation world.

Started out okay and then plummeted into a vortex of suck.
Forty percent into the book, after a good bit of political setup and world building, the author decides to vortex the MC away along with every bit of an interesting plot away into some other area. What a waste.
You know those stories where nothing that character does matters because the entire story is driven by the plot and the author? You know those stories where the author does nothing but beat the crap out of their protagonist no matter what they do? Yeah this is one of those. You know those stories where there's almost no dialogue because that's hard and it's easier just to write about a protagonist by himself? Yeah this is one of those. You know those stories where everything is hyperbolic and everyone always takes everything to silly extremes? Yeah one of those too. When we added in a snarky annoying sidekick I had to take my leave.
My biggest complaint with stories that have an older person, reincarnated or translated into a teenager body is that The author always fails to make the character sound their age.
MC is 13 years old. He's a middle-aged office worker in his old life. But he truly sounds 13. Based on every other character in the story, The author is unable to write mature characters.
Let's move on to the rather creepy issue tho. For some reason, our 13-year-old MC has older women overtly flirting with him. Why not make the MC 18? No matter the gender, adults flirting with a 13 yo is creepy. And every side character is described as a goddess. And all of them are women. It's absurd.
Disclaimer: I love LitRPG cultivation novels, but this one sucked. It wanted to be a cultivation novel but in all reality more closely resembles a slice of life book. Which is fine if that was your intent. Not so good if the author is trying to write an action cultivation novel. Hardly any progression. Very stale. The story itself was just plain boring. I quit forcing myself 65% of the way through.
An over-thought piece of cowardice and laziness. This story is boring, long winded, the math was wrong several times, the connections and continuity didn’t feel plausible, the main character was someone that you started rooting to be killed off. It lacked insight, the running jokes weren’t funny, and the characters were not relatable.
This entire book was ruined because of the AI voice, zero inflection, zero emotional tones and mono tone voice. I had to speed up to 1.2 to tolerate it. The story is a big miss when you have a kid from the modern world bring tossed into ra andom cultivation world. The kid starts to bow and scrape like the typical novel immediately. Why would you do that if you've raised different.
He has no backbone , doesn't correct anyone about his name or even tell the back water people to stop talking to him like he is an idiot. (he is). He definitely doesn't ask enough questions and he is in a long line of protagonists that pick the very first city /country they run into to, to settle down in.
DNF MC too dumb to walk properly. Narrator often pretending to tell me what the world is like. Failure to find engaging ways to develop the world. Interactions between characters is poorly done. Examples being MC interacts with x. Situation goes poorly, Mc learns he should act like a arrogant dummy. Mc proceeds to act like an arrogant dummy. Sadly, the world isn't interesting. The cultivation isn't interesting, and the story isn't interesting.
I expect I am never going to completely love this sub-genre, but I will say that I had a better time with it than other examples. The MC's status as a transport into the world--and someone who knows cultivating stories--helped mitigate some of my discomfort. He had moments of losing himself to greed, but never completely embraced the kill everything in sight to advance approach. He struggled with the class system and exploitation.
And, of course, he advanced anyway which is good. Though I got a bit tired of reading some of the struggles and it dragged on in places, it was still a brisk read.
Old masters, ascension, secret realms, spirit beasts, and cultication wrapped with LitRPG conventions.
The main MC is interesting but sometimes acts like a cowardly and greedy teen. He can be annoying but transcends his character near the end of the novel.
The supporting characters are interesting, fleshed out and can be hilarious - Ren Bo.
I’m excited to learn more about the world, the development of all the characters and how the MC progresses.
Nothing like flowery language all the tropes are here and so enjoyable to read, has lots of humour suspense and intrigue for fans of this genre I urge you to read this book a proper gem of a read an office worker transported into a teenage body and goes from zero to not quite a hero lol.
One of the side characters (Ren Bao) continually harasses women as a joke. In a setting where sexually harassing a powerful woman that should really get you killed, it is disappointing that he his actions are permitted and treated as a comedic. The MC also continuously leers at every woman he meets. Other than that the story is mid with little to no interesting elements.
This book was a lot of funt. It did a pretty good job of blending cultivation and LitRPG, though it is honestly more of a LitRPG novel. Still, it's well worth the read.
Stumbled on this book, and can say it’s now one of my favourite cultivation books. Doesn’t take itself too seriously, and is more about development and character interactions than constant battles but it works well.
Very good reading I totally enjoyed reading it. The mc was perfect he was not a whiner , nor was he overpowered he got hurt a lot did what he had too to survive, hope the next book comes out soon!!
This is like a streamlined version of 'a will eternal' without the annoying protagonist. Its is a cultivation world where the mc has a litrpg system in place. I'm moving right on to book two. Definitely worth the read!
This reads like an isekai for kids written by an AI. This definitely has that awkward style common with poorly translated web novels and AI writing. It could just be the writing style? This is more of a rough draft than a finished book imo.
I enjoyed reading it. There's something in the book that made me read it, despite the long chapter time than others I was used to, according to my kindle. William is a good character to follow along.
So boring, and badly edited. The protagonist is both boring and obnoxious, the writing is amateurish, flat and repetitive. This one needs more work before it's ready for public consumption.
William is a bit older and stuck in a 13years old body. He's handling it pretty good, other than those pesky hormones that embarrass him off and on. Good story line with a lot of action as well as cultivation.
I think it’s a fun crossover between LitRPG and cultivation stories, and plays with a lot of the tropes you see in anime regarding characters pulled from our world having to understand their place in the new one. I think it bridges between comedy and action/adventure, but in a lighthearted way that’s fun.
The MC is ridiculously greedy to such a degree he does the exact opposite of anything he is told to do because of his greed. The problem is as the reader we have to read about the MCs greedy stupidity, and the author thinks the MC is funny.
The plot is dry and really doesn’t have much to offer in the way of new. The author tries to act like they are writing something different by acknowledging how other litrpg books do things but he really doesn’t do anything new with it.
The world building is lacking and doesn’t really happen until about 50% into the story. Which honestly is too far into the book.
The start of the story is just lame, because author relies on luck to move the plot along. Luck is essential in any story. However in this case it’s the get out of any plot hole, or corner. The author could have min/maxed the MC but he doesn’t do that either.
