Warning I am mean. If you like irrational drama then you might like this book. If you don’t like it, and also despise cowardice/stupid characters, then we are on the same boat. I have very strong emotions when reading about irrational behavior, so excuse me. Blake is literally the most annoying, brainless, idiotic, waste of space man I’ve ever seen in a book. How many bad decisions can one make in their lifetime? Infinite according to this piece of work. He is such a coward and is soooooo unlikeable I cannot believe Farrah forgave him so much. Like I tried so hard to like this book but it’s literally straight out of the trenches of Wattpad. He could’ve had a beautiful comeback, but instead he barely gets mad at Cleo, and is instead always mad or groveling Farrah. Like who blames the ex you think you cheated on for believing you when you said you don’t love them when you literally made it your mission at the time to 100% convince them of it. Like sorry you succeeded? Sorry she believed you like you wanted her to? And queen literally doubted you first but you kept going. But now you get angry at HER about it. And next, are you DUMB? It’s so easy to know when you didn’t or did have sex literally just look down at your peen and check if it’s clean. Or check for any wetness around you or near the bed. Also, again, why tf weren’t you more mad at Cleo she literally ruined your life?!?!!? And why not just TELL Farrah that you actually didn’t cheat like bruh I had to pause and fix my dislocated jaw because it just DROPPED. Like he rlly had a debate “should I tell her that I actually never cheated and the baby wasn’t mine or should I let her go because I’m worthless uwu ;3” Like just tell the girl what’s the harm in that??? Instead you tell her you don’t love her AGAIN and leave like a little baby. And also fuck Farrah for being a dumbass and putting up with you. She didn’t rlly do anything but she could’ve dropped his poopy baby ass. What even was the plot of this book lol the characters were just so disappointing and stupid. 😩 anyways, this was a good way to procrastinate sleep but now I’m angry and have to do more procrastinating bc I’m very unsatisfied with this ending. I feel bad for leaving a bad review but this book reminds me of my wattpad era of reading bad books and leaving bad reviews so I’m giving it the same energy😗. I’m just anti stupid and bad decisions when the right choice is clear as day. 😋 also this isn’t just about the characters, it’s about the bad book for trying to MANIPULATE me into thinking all of this behavior is totally okay and forgivable.

if i could give this pure shit, dumpster fire zero stars i would.
fmc has no backbone. “he broke my heart, he cheated on me, he left me.” next page she’s cuddling with him drunk in a bar. girl, go to hell. she’s single, he’s telling other guys to get away from her. not enough groveling, barely any at all. blake is a POS, leave that girl alone. but of course it’s an HEA. i’ll stick to ana’s other books.

I cheated on my gf and got my ex pregnant 😦

I tell my gf I don’t love her and want to be with my ex- which is all lie… bc she deserves better than me🤨

I try to get back with the gf years later, even though I’ve already established that she deserves better🧐

She takes me back😝

I find out i didn’t cheat on her all those years ago😧

So I break up with her again🤨

I act like a dick when I see she’s moved on. Even though I asked her too🙄

She takes me back😜

DNF. 55% This was the first and only book I will ever read from this author . I recently read Tempest Phan’s book, Damien and I really enjoyed it . A friend recommended that I give this author and story a go because it has a lot of angst and the love story was similar to Damien. So I picked it up. And boy when i say I wasted a few hours of my life on this, that’s an understatement.

The writing was good . Maybe it was even excellent, if the content was mirrored in its merits . But it wasn’t , so here I am with my gripe about this story.

The FMC, Farrah, was horrible . Wishy washy, so sex crazed that she never thought with her mind, it was always her need for sex that drove the decisions. She had absolutely no self esteem. How many times did this girl get jealous of every single woman in Blake’s vicinity? Of course she had to be written like every cliche existed . Down and out on her luck , unemployed, hasn’t been in a relationship since Blake , and yet every guy who meets her, or sees her thinks she’s “hot”, yet can’t score a decent date or relationship . Maybe it’s the constant nymph thoughts through the entire book? I don’t care to read about how uncontrollable a woman is to the point of crossing that line of professionalism (which btw, she demanded at the beginning, only to be a hypocrite and defy every rule she demanded he follow ).

Then there are those cliche quotes “Everyone leaves me ...” yah, her dad died . Blake was standing in front of her . She had her mom and a bunch of loyal friends, and this b... talks as if her life has been a disaster . She talks about how she missed her dad , but yet do nothing to connect with her mom??

Even after all that, I still trudged through . Until this :

“Promise me one thing,” Blake said. “Promise you’ll be here in the morning.” Farrah dragged his mouth back to hers and clenched around him until he groaned and resumed his thrusts. She didn’t reply to Blake’s request.
Farrah didn’t like making promises she couldn’t keep.”

This led me to believe she finally found some self respect and high tailed it out of there. But no, hypocrisy ... she was there in the morning cooking breakfast, forgiving him and making amends.
Yah.. I didn’t have the time nor energy to read about this idiot anymore .

One final note of contention: Sammy made it seem like Blake didn’t do anything wrong, that him cheating ( at the time , that’s the belief) and getting a girl pregnant, lying to his current girlfriend and making her believe that he didn’t love her , causing her to question her self worth and doubt her relationship , was out of LOVE? That it was nothing to get worked up about ? What kind of world is physical cheating, mental abuse , through deceit and making one question her self worth not a big deal ?? That’s worst than the actual lie he spew that he didn’t love her . That way, you can justify his cheating ., regardless if it happened or not . Everyone deserves closure. He never gave it to her because he masked his cowardice with “what’s best for her “ bull. Yah, no. He got himself into that situation to end up in that possible scenario no matter how you spin it .

Rant over ... This book made me so angry , so I apologize to people who enjoyed this . We all have different opinions and what I like or don’t, might not be the same as yours. I might not always agree with everyone’s reviews , but I’ll always respect it .

I preferred this to the first book in the series but these books are by far my least favorites by Ana Huang. I didn't really connect to Farah and Blake despite the fact that this is their second book and there was so much miscommunication which I felt like was used to continue the story.
There was a big reveal about the most significant plotline in book 1 that made what happened after so unnecessary. RTC.
The plot
If the sun never sets once again follows Farrah and Blake and it is set 5 years after the first book.
Farrah is now an interior designer and Blake is the owner of several sport bars. Blake needs an interior designer for his home and his friend hires Farrah to do the job as he does not know about their past. They meet up and obviously recognize each other and she reluctantly agrees to be his interior designer though she does set boundaries in place. However Blake and Farrah still have feelings for each other and the attraction is still very much there. Will Farah be able to trust Blake again and will Blake be able to move past his insecurities?
My thoughts (this section has some spoilers)
This one was better than the first book but there was so much miscommunication to the point that it got really frustrating to read about.
Blake and Farrah's breakup because he felt too insecure to be with her after he got her to trust him again and take him back was so stupid.
Cleo's confession that the baby she was carrying before her miscarriage was not Blake's was very frustrating and pointless in my opinion.
The conflict in the last book could have been completely avoided. At least Blake didn't cheat on Farrah though.
Anyway I did enjoy this for the most part and it was very easy to read. This series is just not nearly as good as Ana Huang's other series.

In this book, the story concludes between Blake and Farrah as their paths cross – five years from where the previous story finished. The plot follows pretty much the same themes as before: lust, conflict and then a lot of steamy sex. I can’t say it was ground-breaking, but it was an entertaining read nonetheless.

I continued to enjoy watching Blake and Farrah dance around one another. Both still have deep feelings yet, Farrah cannot move on from the previous hurt we learnt about in book one. (As an aside, you definitely need to read these books in order to get a true understanding of the characters and their history.) It is obvious how the story will conclude but I liked watching Farrah battle against her feelings and persuade herself she does not see a relationship with Blake.

Blake, despite now being a successful businessman, continues to make foolish mistakes in the heart department. It was refreshing to see the writer continue Blake’s past in this novel, particularly with his family. This added continuation to the story and I’m pleased I didn’t leave too long between each book. On the other hand, despite now nearing thirty, I found Blake a little immature and quite frustrating with his decisions concerning Farrah. On reflection, maybe it is because the writer is suggesting that Blake is rather naive when it comes to love: his one true love is Farrah and he hasn’t experienced feelings of this depth before.

If you are after a book with a lot of depth and soul-searching then… keep looking! The sex scenes were quite graphic and, personally, I think the story would have worked equally well without so much detail. Actually, I felt it distracted the reader from the writer’s true details, lessening the value of her work.

This book provides a conclusive, happy ending. I liked that characters from the previous book made an appearance. Set in New York, I enjoyed the glamour of the setting and its fast-pace; it reflects the daily pressures that both Farrah and Blake experience – not just in terms of their careers. It also made it feel completely different to the first story, rather than an extension of it.

A pretty good read, this was entertaining and a distraction from daily life. I don’t tend to read books with such graphic sex scenes but it certainly made a change from my recent picks! An easy novel, the characters are likeable and I finished it with a sense of satisfaction.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Welllllllllllllll it was better than my last two reads I guess

This book deals with second chance romance witch I’m leaning is a favorite of mine because …
I love the mess/drama

However I’m seeing a main theme that needs to go
or some reason the hero gets to be thriving in his career great friends / awesome sex life / loaded.

While miss girl out here quitting her job / hasn’t had sex in a year.

But what took me out was …. She can’t even make her self orgasm noooo she herself can’t even do that let alone another guy

And also I don’t really love it when authors promote there books and then you read it and realize that it was false presentation

The author put this on her tik tok saying it had groveling…

But you see doll there was no grovel to be made I didn’t see our boy putting in any effort .. if at all
And I would like to point out that a lot of these second chance books … your characters aren’t going to be the same people they where if there’s a big time jump

5/10 years is a long time your different person you’ve changed grown Learned new things /think differently /dress/ new people in your life….

So i never figured out why they never went that angle with it. they’re different people, shouldn’t they be trying to get to know the new person they are instead of him just being like the second they meet.

“I know her / I know she feels our love that never went away”

Yeah five years ago he bro ..

Did this book frustrate me as much as the first one? Absolutely!!

But did I love it nonetheless? Yes!

I will forever be the #1 supporter of the second chance romance trope. This book wrapped up Farrah and Blake’s story perfectly. If Blake communicated better throughout the book, I wouldn’t have been as frustrated but it’s in the past so it’s fine. This book has a happy ending and that’s all that matters.

This duet is one of those books where you are so angry at the characters because of their miscommunication but you are so invested that you can’t put the book down. I honestly had a great time reading this and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Well this was a great second chance romance! It takes place about 5 years after the ending and break-up from book 1. Blake and Farrah are all grown up, successful businesspeople, but haven't seen each other since their time in Shanghai. They reunite through Blake's friend and Blake hires Farrah as his interior designer for his new house, mainly so Blake can get his second chance with the only woman he's ever loved and has never stopped thinking about. There is angst and grovel in this second chance romance, which is really all I want when I read this trope! Blake has his work cut out for him in earning back Farrah's trust and love, but these two are so meant to be together. Weirdly, I feel like this book would read perfectly fine as a standalone but I still do recommend you read Blake and Farrah’s first story.

I think i would have liked it more if it was longer and not so fast-paced, because wow things were going so fast. I hated Blake most of the book, he was so toxic, trying to ‘protect’ her by just saying nothing and just breaking up (twice??!) But after the letters and the waiting (and I hope some therapy) he was okay again and they had their happy ending, so I’m happy (2.5 stars!)

3.25 ⭐️ just like i said on the first one, not Ana’s best book but still entertaining and fun to read, im looking forward to the rest of the series
again, i loved the friendship between all the characters and how they reunited in the end of the book
the only thing i did not like about this book was the fact that the MMC broke up with the FMC because he thought “she deserved better” instead of just talking to her after finding out that he didn’t cheat on her and his ex was lying (if he just TALKED to her the last 100 pages would literally be unnecessary 💀) but atleast he’s not a cheater

Holy fuck is this book absolute shit. It’s literally the stupidest fucking worst waste of time and space. I hope this book doesn’t get printed on paper because it is a waste of paper. Strap in and buckle up for my 1200 word review 🕺🫨

Where do I even begin?

I hate to say it, but I'm incredibly disappointed in Ana's writing for the first time ever. It was dull, and while the storyline in the first novel of the duet had me hooked - falling in love abroad and enjoying the time together blah blah - we then get to the second novel in the duet, and oh god, both characters were pathetic 🤧

*major spoilers ahead - don’t read this unless you’ve already read it, or want to have the whole book spoilt*

Okay, so in the first novel, Blake and Farrah become friends, date, break up and the end. In this novel, they see each other after 5 years, and both are very emotional - kinda silly and immature and childish IMO, but, I digress. She ends up being his interior designer - because omg the fates have aligned and brought each other back together!!! (sarcasm, in case you couldn't tell). Anyway, they start to fall for each other again but Farrah doesn't want her heart broken again - I mean, I don't blame her, at all. That boy fully ripped her heart out of her chest and did a lil tap dance 🕺 on it before kicking it in the gutter. Yet again, I digress. Anyway, she keeps her guard up until she finally lets him back into her life. And you'd think he'd learnt his lesson the first time, right? WRONG. He goes and breaks her heart for the *SECOND* time (my internal reaction: 🤦‍♀️)

Buddy, I know you've got Daddy problems and you're insecure and yada yada. But seriously!? You just got the love of your life back after pining for her for literal YEARS (after breaking up with her!), and then you're like, 'soz babe, I don't wanna hurt you, so I'm gonna break up with you instead'. UMM 🤔 boy, you broke her heart AGAIN. Why? Dude, I don't see the point of pining and pining and utilising your right hand so damn much to ease the pain of not having her *cough* her body and attention and doormat personality *cough*, then getting her back only to chuck her away like she's trash AGAIN. Oh, and I forgot to mention, after they BOTH used EACH OTHER for sex. Purely for sex. 🙄

And then, whaddya know? He wants her back. But for real this time ("I promise Farrah" said Blake with his pathetic lil puppy eyes 🥹). I'm sorry buddy, but you had your chance! Leave her alone, for both your sakes. But ofc, Farrah sticks with him because no other guy has managed to give her so many orgasms, so… they get together AGAIN and oh boy, when I tell you I was so ready for another breakup - that DIDN'T come - thank god 😭 that was the only point that kinda saved the book I guess?? I mean, not really, because Farrah deserves more than a man who can't make up his mind, but she also should've gotten over him. I guess they'll both be happy living in their lil orgasmic world full of sex and pathetic, useless apologies.

Oh god, I can only hope the next books will save this series, I'm going to be so disappointed if not. I enjoyed hearing about Olivia and Sammy's problems - so I'm keen for their story. But goddamnit. Farrah and Blake's story made me so angry. OH. I don't know how I almost forgot to mention it, but CLEO!?!?!?!?!? Girlie you deserve every demon that is coming your way 😭🤧 How DARE you do that? Like girlie, you're the primary reason Blake is so screwed up in the head! If it weren't for you and being sad because a guy didn't like you, none of this goddamn mess would have happened! How selfish do you have to be to do *THAT*. I nearly tore the book in half at that point, I was so angry. Angry on behalf of the demons that have been stalking Blake for ages, angry on behalf of Farrah who got her heart broken multiple times because of that cow 🐮 and angry on behalf of the whole friend group who had to deal with Farrah and Blake acting like middle schoolers. Actually, that's offensive to middle schoolers - they just acted pathetic and were so immature it made me want to cry. I think the story could've been saved if Cleo wasn't a character - praise the lord I don't know anyone named Cleo otherwise I wouldn't be able to look them in the eye - but then again, no Cleo = no miscommunication, no traumatised Blake, no sad Farrah, no storyline. Ugh, that girl annoyed me so much, and Blake wasn't even that mad!?!?!? What the actual hell dude? This chic ruined your whole relationship with Farrah and you're fine with that!?!? I can't even begin to understand why you think that would be okay.

Farrah ignored the disrespect from Blake - umm girlie, I'm sure there's plenty of guys who'll make you orgasm as good as he does - but okay, don't blame me when he breaks your heart after y'all have been married for years. He was so damn toxic and literally - okay metaphorically - barked and scared off all the men Farrah supposedly had an interest in. Umm firstly, Farrah, girlie, you didn't even wanna be with Blake, so don't get angry when he's hanging out with a girl. Secondly, Blake, you TOLD her she could see other people… don't get mad when she does exactly what you said. The whole time I was reading, I was so. Damn. Confused. My emotions went: 🤦‍♀️😭🤧😩🕺😮‍💨🙄🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Why oh why would Ana keep them together? They were so bad for each other, yet she kept them together because of "fate". Umm okay, am I fated to be with some wanker who's just gonna keep using me for sex and I just keep dealing with him because the orgasms are *earth shattering*!?!??! Like honestly, it was so pathetic, I wanted to cry.

To be *somewhat* fair, I do hate second-chance romances, but I did love Ana's 'King of Greed' which was second-chance, so idk. I guess I just had high expectations after reading the Twisted series, but I don't think Ana's ever gonna be able to top that. Honestly, Ana would have been better having 1 book for Blake & Farrah, and then 1 for Olivia, 1 for Courtney and 1 for Kris. Or, better yet, not have 2 whole damn books based on Blake and Farrah, unless the pair were able to sort out their issues and go to therapy.

Ahem, thank you for coming to my TED Talk 😌, I hope I don't have to come back on here to do another one of these for Ana's books.

If you enjoy miscommunication, irritable characters, a forgiving female character who is happily trodden on and a man who uses the girl for sex, this is the book for you. I hate to be so negative but I had such high hopes and was so disappointed 🤧

I have no problem if you liked this book, but I was disheartened by how much I didn't like it, considering I've enjoyed Ana's previous works. I still love Ana and I’m still going to read the rest of her books, I’m just not going to be able to reread this one.

3.5 stars, rounded up.

This was a cute quick read that delivered the promised HEA. In fact, the ending is why I rounded up instead of down because it made me feel warm and fuzzy.

Otherwise, the book was… nice. Nothing more, nothing less. I rolled my eyes at the extent of Blake’s entrepreneurial stardom (*12* bars in five years?! We’re not even gonna try to go for realism here?) but I liked the New York setting. The plot otherwise was cute, I’m a sucker for ~fated reunions~ and coincidences and the whole getting closer again through proximity tropes, so 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also: I called it! I’m not mad about the predictability of the whole Cleo plot twist though. I like plot twists that don’t come fully out of nowhere but you could pick hints at up already when you know where to look.

Still, the fact that the issue in this book was pretty much *exactly* the same one as in book one is why I didn’t actually give 4 stars, despite the easy entertainment the book provided for this Sunday evening. The fact that Blake pulled the same shit and Farrah (understandably) walked out but then ended up forgiving him again but not after months (he waited outside in a snowstorm, really? 🙄) blablabla idk I guess I’m just tired of miscommunication and the whole “I’m pulling away because you deserve better” tropes.

So yeah, this was enjoyable, the writing is great, but nothing special.

I finish it I didn’t wanna wait to see what happens while I went to the store I kept having moments of reading and pausing that’s how invested I was because of the previous book’s ending lol.

It’s safe to say this one’s a lot better I was between being upset / feeling bad for him but the guy had it coming to him what did he expect

There’s a time jump I didn’t know that since I didn’t read the description I jump right into this one. Once I saw the time jump I knew it was going to be a roller coaster ride for the both of them, You get the answers you want in this book with some details from Blake’s POV. I hate to say it but I was right! I knew better than to trust his ex I had moments of laughing turning red and of course giggling Blake kind of reminds me of a much lighter version of Christian and Alex from the Twisted series.

Farrah finds her way of standing on her own feet without him she’s grown but once she sees him again it’s like a part of her comes back to light from muscle memory

Do I love this like the twisted series heck no, do I like it yes absolutely it has everything you want in a storyline just be prepared to be upset for the first half of this book and then again just before the end lol

I’m happy with the ending it’s perfect for the both of them I would recommend it but if you already read the twisted series don’t think it’s the same vibe, this one’s toned down but if you read the first two books first then the twisted series I think it’ll be fine since it’s basically preparing you for the characters to see how much better they get with each book.

Five years have passed since Farrah and Blake last saw each other in Shanghai. Blake, now a successful businessman, hires Farrah as his interior designer. However, he has ulterior motives – he’s still in love with Farrah and wants a second chance.

Farrah and Blake showed such growth and maturation in this series, and I enjoyed seeing them change and develop into strong and independent people. Their reunion is the awkward mess you would expect of former first loves with baggage, but the chemistry is still there. I love the connection that this couple has and that it has not dwindled after so many years.

Farrah, understandably, struggles to trust Blake and let him in completely, and Blake has to do quite a bit of groveling (which I love) to convince her that his intentions are true. He is pretty clear that he loves her and wants to be with her, but she is still crushed from their old break-up and takes some convincing. Their second-chance romance blossoms wonderfully. It’s not without setbacks and misunderstandings, especially when Blake listens to the advice from his well-meaning but totally clueless friends, but Blake and Farrah’s love proves strong.

I found it interesting that in the first book Farrah had plans and goals while Blake seemed less sure about his future. In If the Sun Never Sets, the roles are reversed. Blake is an established and successful business owner, and Farrah is unemployed and considering her future plans. Similar to the first book, they continue to encourage each other to chase their dreams and are supportive even in the midst of conflict and confusion.

Farrah’s mom is a wonderful addition to the story. Though she does not have a huge role, her sage advice is exactly the affirmation Farrah needs. Farrah’s mother doesn’t tell her what to do when it comes to her relationship, but her advice is poignant and true. I love when she urges Farrah to listen to her heart:

"Do what your heart tells you. We can be so afraid of getting hurt we lock it up in a fortress, but hearts are meant to roam free until they find what they’re searching for. Let yours lead you where you need to go."

It is as if Farrah’s mother finally sees and treats her as an independent woman, not a child. She speaks from personal experience and knows Farrah needs her support and encouragement but must do what makes her happy. Her unconditional support and love for Farrah are beautiful as is their bond.

Unlike Farrah, Blake has a strained relationship with his family, especially his father. Blake tries to avoid dealing with his feelings and past hurts. Farrah does to an extent as well, but she seems to avoid facing her feelings for Blake. Can Farrah trust Blake? Some terrible things happened to him after Shanghai, and he needs to open up to Farrah in order for her to fully trust him again. Luckily for both, he’s really good at groveling, and he’s persistent. Both need to resolve their conflicting emotions, trust issues, and desire to please others before they can move forward.

The hustle and bustle of New York City is a wonderful backdrop to this second-chance romance. Again, Huang’s attention to detail immerses the reader into the busy city life of the characters, and it feels as if you are there with Farrah, Blake, and their friends.

Speaking of friends, several Shanghai friends from the first book make an appearance in this book. I loved finding out what happened to this core group of friends that shared a year abroad and how they remained friends.

I loved this story! It made me laugh and cry and feel all kinds of feels, and I loved every second of it. I was so invested in Farrah and Blake’s story that I read both books in two days. It has great characters, a spicy romance, and the possibility of a happily-ever-after for Blake and Farrah. What’s not to love? Thanks so much to the author for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.
