Alex O'Connor is an American author surviving the burning heat of Florida with dreams of moving to the Pacific Northwest. Spending what time he is not crafting new worlds from words, he enjoys playing games (of all realms) and enjoying time with the best dog ever, Riley. Alex would like to thank his family and friends for their patience over the nine-and-a-half years and two major story restarts. Over the course of this time, they have heard murmurs of the story he was continuing to craft while working, completing college, and making it over the hurdles that life tried to block his path with. Finally, he hopes that his family and friends, as well as all who find this, will enjoy reading not just his debut novel, but the entire Celestial Saga!
First off, I want to talk about the world building in this book! If you’re a fan of intergalactic political affairs, alien warfare, and high energy space battles akin to Mass Effect, Halo, and even Star Wars, you too might enjoy this read.
A little slow to start, but once the action kicked in I found myself wholly captivated in the stories deep world. The space combat sequences were fast-paced, and well-written, and the plot featured a cast of interesting characters from every corner of the galaxy.
My only major complaint is there’s a lot of characters in the story to follow, resulting in a mixed cast of star players driving the plot forward, and a few who sort of feel as though their whole purpose is just to be cannon fodder driving the motivations of others.
But, all-in-all, this story is a solid read, and I look forward to what the author has in store for the rest of Celestial Saga.
The tale unfolds against the backdrop of the tumultuous clash between the Kaltari Empire and the United Celestial Alliance. The narrative weaves a gripping tapestry of war, strategy, and intrigue, with Nova Team at its center. The author skillfully navigates the complexities of the battlefield, offering readers a front-row seat to the relentless pursuit and precarious missions faced by Nova Team. The tension builds as the team teeters on the edge of discovery, grappling with the blurred lines of loyalty and the ominous specter of a formidable new weapon. The characters, vividly portrayed, grapple with moral dilemmas and unexpected alliances, adding depth to the narrative. 'Celestial Saga: Dawn of the Seekers' stands as a testament to the author's ability to craft a compelling tale of warfare, camaraderie, and the unpredictable dance between enemies and allies. A must-read for fans of military science fiction, this book leaves an indelible mark, proving that sometimes, the most unlikely alliances emerge in the crucible of war.
I extremely enjoyed this book. The departure from standard military and special forces based books in actually revealing and exploring the character's feelings as well as interpersonal connections was interesting as a reader. This book had an old school Star Trek feel but paired with a new age kick butt special forces team I would compare to the Spartans from halo or The squad from Mass Effect Can not wait until the next installment! 10/10 would suggest this to any sci-fi reader out there!
An explosive debut to a promising new sci-fi saga!
Brand new author Alex O'Connor breaks onto the sci-fi scene with an ultra-imaginative, galaxy-spanning, character-driven adventure!
This book builds and builds its way up to a crescendo that doesn't let its foot off the gas until the story's over.
Without getting into spoiler territory, this novel really captured my attention in chapter eight. All that came before that was interesting enough to keep me reading, but there is a turning point that kicked everything up a notch, which locked me into where the story was going.
It's safe to say that the Celestial Saga has made a fan out of me, and I will be eagerly awaiting the next installment.
I greatly enjoyed this story, and I'm confident that any other fan of sci-fi action would too!
I haven't properly read a book in years nor do I generally like to read books, but I thought the author had created an out of this world universe (pun intended). From the characters including other species, to the ships, the planets, to the action filled battles, I thought it all blended well together. You just want to keep on reading. As someone who's second language is English, it was easy to follow, had excellent story flow, right amount of comedic relief, the amount of detail was superb, though there were a lot of characters to take note of but it balanced well with the amount of "screen time" they had. It was like a movie inside my head. Great job and definitely looking forward in buying a SIGNED sequel!
For starters, I’m not one who constantly has a book in their hands. But I do love me a good book that attracts my attention. I came across this book and let me tell you, I read this book for SEVEN hours straight and finished it in one sitting. A feat I have not done since reading Cat in the Hat books. Every chapter sucked me deeper and deeper. And after finishing the epilogue I immediately demanded the second book! I can’t wait to see where this author takes this series. I would highly recommend this to any fellow sy-fi fan.
