From USA Today bestselling author Leslie Langtry comes a killer campfire tale... It's just another weekend camping trip for ex-CIA agent Merry Wrath and her precocious Girl Scout troop. This time the girls are learning riflery, taught by Merry's assassin friend, Hilly (who isn't an assassin because the CIA doesn't have assassins because that would be illegal...but she totally is). What could go wrong? Plenty, because the creepy camp caretaker is soon found inconveniently dead behind the rifle range. Naturally, a violent storm comes out of nowhere and strands the troop with four suspect camp staffers. The scout manual explains how to keep kids safe during storms, hiking trips, and the overly-enthusiastic application of matches to start a campfire, but there's nothing on what to do when trapped in a lodge with a murderer. Can Merry unmask the killer before she and the girls get burned?
This title was previously available as part of a Twisty Tales & Cozy Crimes collection.

This kindle e-book novella was $0.99 on Amazon and a series I have been reading.
Merry Wrath and friends are camping with the girl scouts. They are having a good time and then they find a dead body of a man. They get back to the camp ground headquarters. Then strange things start happening. The van caught on fire. They find one of the staff locked in a locker. Then the truth comes out leading to the arrest of the killer.
I would recommend this series and author to readers of romantic family and friends relationships adventure mystery novels. 2024 👒😮😀🤔
I absolutely love this book. Merry Wrath and her band of friends and scouts are at it again. With Hilly! Seriously, this series never disappoints. This one has an excellent camp setting where the girls are stranded with camp staffers and someone committed murder. Merry has to decide who to trust to help her find the murderer, protect the girls, and survive the storm. Who to trust, Hilly? Betty and Ava? It reminds me of the game clue and this is simply another wonderful and hilarious read.
2.5. Writing was kind of like scattershot, there were good ideas and great potential for the characters, but it was hard to follow and not well developed. I would read more by this author but would like better editing and follow through on story arcs.
I love the Merry Wrath series and this short story was a fun addition. The girls crack me up every time, and Merry, Kelly, and even Hilly are a good team. I eagerly await the next installment!
A good one to read during the busy Christmas season. As always, I enjoyed it. Those young girl scouts are an interesting bunch. I'm looking forward to the next one I can get.
