Stacy isn't an ordinary kid. Instead of living in a house or an apartment with her parents, she lives in a cave with 6 wolves with supernatural abilities, including super-speed and mind-reading. Together, they rescue animals in danger. In this 2nd volume, they've received a message about 3 mountain goats in danger. They have to travel to the jagged peaks to save them. Hopefully, Stacy can conquer her fear of heights. They story is best at surface-level--a girl living on her own/with wolves saving other animals. There's a lot of suspension of disbelief for how things conveniently work out. There's no explanation of why the wolves have these powers, at least in this 2nd volume, or how they all came to live together. There's also a lot of information/facts/vocabulary dumping. Pictures throughout make this good for advanced 2nd-3rd graders.
