When it comes to protecting his angel, he has no mercy .

Gabriel :
The first time I saw her, she made my pulse dance to a rhythm that matched the sway of her hips.
The second time I saw her, she was in the arms of my best friend.
That broken, rusty organ in my chest hasn’t beaten since.
Blood doesn’t run through these veins, it’s pure, unleaded determination.
I’ve fought my whole life. For safety. For Food. For my family.
Five years later, I'm fighting for my position in the MMA world.
No distractions.
Only, my angel needs me, and that tin can behind my ribs found its beat again.

Francesca :
Gabriel “No Mercy” Stone earned his fight-name long before he entered the octagon.
He’s been a thorn in my side for years.
He takes pleasure in proving his nickname to me at every turn.
He’s relentless. He’s heartless.
Until one day he’s not.
It took the worst day of my life for Gabriel to show me mercy.
Broken and afraid, I let him piece me back together.
He offers me everything yet promises nothing.

When a man shows he has no mercy, you should believe him.

3.5 stars A Sexy MMA fighter, enemies (ish)to lovers, friend’s ex novel

I love a good story with a faithful fighter that fights for his woman because she’s the only one for him. I wish the chapters/sections were clearer in terms of whose perspective I was reading- this was annoying and confused me here and there.

Frankie (Francesca) Angelique (Angel), physical therapist 23, has been with Austin for nine years now. The book opens up with her dancing in the club and Gabriel, the H, MMA fighter and ex-military, observes her, once again, secretly pining for her. As she’s dancing, Gabriel makes comments to her about people thinking she’s easy because of the way she’s dancing. For five years, he’s acted like he’s hated her because he’s been wanting her this whole time (this is really the only enemies-to-lovers part). However, she’s with one of his closest friends, Austin. While Frankie’s dancing, she realizes that she needs to end things with him because things have been awkward and stale for a while.

Austin and Frankie have a last “hurrah” (in bed) before he basically tells her that he’s been cheating on her and ends things with her, in an aggressive way. At the same time, Gabriel is with a random, thinking about his Angel. Frankie/Angel goes to the hospital with a dislocated shoulder- and that’s when Gabriel swoops in to start showing her how much he’s been into her. Now that’s she’s free, he can show her how he really feels.

I love how protective and cautious Gabriel is with Frankie, considering that she’s getting out of a many-year relationship that wasn’t the healthiest and that she needs to recover from her injuries. I’m not sure why this is labeled as an enemies-to-lovers since we really don’t see that aspect in this book. All the enemy parts of their relationship is in the past, and it’s not detailed too much. I wish we had gotten some flashback scenes that show this part of the relationship. Gabriel’s been in her life for five years, but we don’t see how obsessed he’s been with her since he first noticed her. It would’ve added dimension and clarity to show their connection at a different level. Also, Frankie mentioned that she’s also noticed him as well, but because she was with Austin, she never did anything about it. I wanted to SEE 👀 this. This disappointed me.

Weeks after Austin breaks up with her, Frankie and Gabriel‘s relationship ignites.🥵🔥 was it quick? Yeah LOL 💁🏻‍♀️ but I enjoyed it 😅. Would it have been better if they had taken longer? Probably. What I was really missing was reliving the connection that they had for years- THAT would’ve make this so much better for me. They have intense chemistry that solidifies their connection and their scenes are steamy and PRIMAL🥵🔥 all their pent up chemistry finally exploded 🤤💦. But I wanted more leading up to this😬👀.

Frankie tries to be more reasonable, but because they aren’t clicking with their future goals and because some things are moving faster than others, they end up clashing and end things. Frankie doesn’t want another cheater of a fighter and Gabriel doesn’t want to settle down and have kids. There are a lot of surprises that they encounter, but the biggest thing they need to work on is communication.

SPOILERS: the scenes with Austin were ridiculous. So his aggression and cheating is blamed on him using steroids and being depressed because he was injured and couldn’t fight anymore? Blah. So over these excuses- then we find out he has a surprise of his own coming months from now 🙄. GOOD RIDDANCE! I’m glad Frankie didn’t turn over and easily forgive him, but I wanted him to really suffer for being a cheater 😂😅 (yeah, I’m bitter). He causes her to fall down the stairs and go to the hospital, AGAIN, when she’s distraught after he confesses stuff to her. Luckily, she doesn’t lose the surprise baby.

Overall, it was okay- there are many things I would’ve liked there to be more of (more details). I enjoyed the fact that, for once, the h has another possible prospect waiting if the H doesn’t wake up and smell the coffee lol👏🏻😅. No pining away here.

⚠️safety squad⚠️
-domestic abuse (the opening smex scene and some emotional abuse by OM1)
-no cheating
-OM1- the h is with OM1 as the book opens up and they’re intimate, which is when he confesses he’s been cheating on her (he says some sweet words to her too: I’ve had better 🐱 but your 🍑 is the best- swooooon🙄🤢)
-OW: at the same time, the H is smexing OW while thinking of the h
-OW (from the beginning) answers the H’s phone when the h calls. OW is getting back at the H for rejecting her, so she steals his phone and sends the h a picture of a woman and downtown action on a man. It isn’t the H- I wish this was clearer though. Was this a random picture from the internet? Was it the OW and a different man? How did it get on the H’s phone? 🤔
-OM2 befriends the h and becomes interested in her. OM2 and the h kiss, he proposes to her, and she feels something for him, but because she’s broken up from the H, she realizes he’s the only one for her and OM2 and h decide to just be friends.

No Mercy is one of those ‘it’s me, not the book’ cases. I’m sure many will enjoy this one, but it contained too many things I’m not a fan of.

I know people love a good reformed hero, but I cannot get behind a hero that is horrible to their love interest to hide their feelings. It’s the old ‘if he pulls your hair, it means he likes you’, which is something I cannot get behind. It encourages behaviour that should not exist, and with the work I do I cannot help but view it as a prelude to something worse. If you like someone, treat them right. Just because you cannot be with them does not mean you have to belittle them and ruin their self-worth. When you combine this behaviour with the events that resulted in the characters finally getting together… I felt like our leading lady had no self-respect.

As I said, I’m sure many will enjoy this one, but this is one of my pet peeves in romance and it resulted in the book failing to work for me – which sucked, because there were some aspects I found interesting.

'No mercy' is the first book of the 'Black Ops MMA' series written by D.M. Davis.

This was the first book that I have read by this author and it was absolutely amazing! This book had all the tropes that I am addicted too like second chance and a touch of darkness.

Gabriel has always had feelings for Frankie. But was never able to tell her so because she was with his best friend's girl , so he pushes her away in the only way he knows , by being an ass to her. When she is no longer his best friend's , he offers support to her.

Frankie is shocked to see , Gabriel , the man who has always hated her is now being tender with her! She soon realises that it was not hate that Gabriel felt for her , but the exact opposite! They both grow closer over the time period they spend together , but Frankie is not too keen to jump in a relationship with a new man , after getting out of one. Now it is up to Gabriel to show her if he can be the type of man she deserves or not and to also help her heal the scars her ex left.

This book was an amazing read for me and I would definitely recommend it to all the dark Romance lovers out there!

When Frankie is left hurt and in the hospital by her boyfriend, his best friend, Gabriel, the man who hates her, is the one to bring her home and care for her. How can this be that Gabriel is being good to her? Tender and caring? He hates her, or at least has acted as if the 5 years she's known him.

What Frankie never realized was that Gabriel felt the opposite of hate for her, he just couldn't handle those feelings he had for his friend's woman. So he pushed her away by being an ass. Now that she's no longer Austin's, though, perhaps Gabriel can finally let her know how he really feels about her. Except what she wants, deserves, is something Gabriel's not capable of. And Frankie's done with the men in her life shortshrifting her. Now Gabriel will have to decide if he can be the man she deserves, fight for her the way she deserves.

I liked this emotional, angsty story. Frankie is awesome and I love how she finally stood up for herself and realized what she deserved in her life was not what any of the men in her life were giving her. Gabriel drove me nuts with his "I'm not good enough" bs, but I can understand why he felt that way, so he gets a pass. And at least he finally took that foot out of his ass and did what he should have done way back. This is a great start to what I hope will be a great series. I can really see Rowdy's story being next and if so, I'll be the first to download it.

No Mercy is my first but certainly not my last read by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

Gabriel is a hot, sexy MMA fighter. Frankie is a strong and likeable character. Their journey isn’t an easy one but it’s a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Excellent addition to the Everyday Heroes World.

I love MMA books, and between that, the blurb, and the sexy cover, I couldn't wait to read this! DM Davis is a new to me author, but I am officially a fan!

Gabriel has always wanted Frankie, but once he found out that she was his best friends girl, he backed off and transferred his longing to animosity. He can be cruel, but he feels like he doesn't deserve the amazing woman she is.. but when tragedy strikes and his angel is left broken, he doesn't hesitate to swoop in and mend all her fractured pieces.. but can he truly be the man she needs?

Frankie has had such a difficult life, and just when she thought everything was falling into place, the man she thought she would spend the rest of her life with turned into a complete stranger. She doesn't know how to get their love back on track, but after a brutal and heartbreaking scene, she has no intentions of repairing her relationship. She's surprised when Gabriel runs to her side and offers her nothing but kindness, especially after the way he's treated her, but soon realizes that he's all she needs.. if only Gabe would get out of his own head and be the man he wants to be for her.

I've barley scratched the surface because SO much happens in this book! These two definitely have their work cut out for them, but I loved every minute. The side characters were so amazing as well! I can't wait for more books in the series!!

Bless my soul! Gabriel and Frankie ran hot on every page right from the start. This MMA centered romance is so much more than boy meets girl. I love the authors style for pulling me into a story and I loved this motley crew of MMA fighters I can't wait to see more of. An absolute gorgeous book.

**I'm friendly with the author but it hasn't biased my review. I flipping loved the story!**

No Mercy • Black Ops MMA Book 1
@dmdavisauthor
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Goodness gracious, I am totally swooning right now. Gabriel "No Mercy" is a sexy, possessive alpha who finds himself pining after his best friend's girl, Frankie. He never acts on his feelings until Frankie ends up broken and abused in the hospital. Gabriel is instantly by her side and dedicates himself to caring for her. When things get serious, Gabriel feels he isn't worthy & can't open his heart to her. Frankie refuses to settle. Fate intervenes and makes them see what truly means the most to them.

This story is so full of passion and emotion. Gabriel & Frankie have some amazing chemistry and their connection is beyond intense. Their love for each other is what dreams are made of. Plus, the sex is hot, hot, hot! 🔥 Like seriously, I need a cold shower. We are introduced to some other great characters who will be getting their own books. I can't wait to read more about Rowdy. I'm pretty sure he's already stolen my heart 😍 I never thought MMA fighters would be my type, but here we are 😏

There are some triggers of sexual assault/abuse.

I like a dramatic, unrealistic romance as much as the next girl, but MAN this had just so. much. drama. I'm pretty sure the heroine waivers on passing out/needs someone to hold her up when she's shocked/surprised at least seven or eight times, which is quite a lot for a book less than 300 pages long. Also, the angel stuff was just too much for me, give it a rest dude.

Who does not love a good sports romance that develops from enemies to lovers. I know I do and then add in that the sport is MMA and then all I had to say was let me read.
This book intrigued me straight away and then that cover and I was hooked like a little fishy on a hook and was pulled in to the depths of Black Ops MMA Book 1. Book 1 focus is on Gabriel ‘No Mercy’ an ex special ops medic who is now a member of Black Ops MMA Gym and moving up the ranks of becoming a champion and Frankie ‘Angel’ the girl he met five years ago and was instantly drawn to her. The only problem was she was his best friend’s girlfriend and that had been together since she was 14, so he had no choice but to avoid her at all costs.
Frankie – what more could I do Austin was distant, I just couldn’t get him to look at me like he used to, something had changed between us I just didn’t know what. What more could I do. Then we have Gabriel, why does he have to be so infuriating, what did I do to make him hate me so much, especially as he has always caught my eye, but hey he is Austin’s best friend and the best thing I could do is ignore him.
But fate now has a part to play when these two are thrown together, and all Gabriel wants to do is protect his Angel and if Austin shows his face again there will be problems. Frankie is broken, her father left her and then the man she thought was her everything destroyed her mentally and physically and as secrets become unravelled she spirals deeper. In those depths is the one person she didn’t expect to pull her out and that is Gabriel these two are living together and become more, but Angel has her doubts how can he go from hating her to wanting her. She has been hurt so much already can Gabriel give her what she really wants and needs. Can Gabriel get past the no marriage no kids. Can he be open with Frankie and want more.
This book is from start to finish an instant page turning, you just want more of everyone. The emotion throughout this book is high, it’s spicy, its gripping, its all-encompassing, it’s sad and so much more. I honestly cannot wait to dive into the next books in this series.

Highly recommend this book.

I just recently discovered D. M. Davis's Black Ops MMA series with the re-release of "No Mercy," and Oh. My. WOW! I was immediately sucked into Gabriel and Frankie's story. First of all, I should say that I'm a big fan of MMA, and I've really enjoyed the few related series I've read over the last couple of years. However, "No Mercy" is such a well-developed story with so much going on throughout. There's steamy chemistry, heartache, tragedy, humor, and all those delicious awwww moments that keep the pages turning for me. All the uber-$exy fighters with washboard abs and hearts as big as their biceps certainly doesn't hurt either. In short, it's a panty-combusting, heart-tugging, lip-biting reading event! The characters became so important to me, and I got really invested in not only the developing HEA for Gabriel and Frankie, but in the potential for upcoming stories and pairings. The hero and heroine of the story have dark pasts that they need to work through, and both of them tend to get in their own way as they navigate the dynamics of their relationships with each other and with the rest of the crew. I honestly couldn't put it down, reading it in one sitting. Davis is a new-to-me author, and I am super excited to read more. In fact, I loved it so much that I purchased the rest of the series about halfway through reading Book 1, something I rarely do.

No Mercy is the heated and emotional story of Gabriel “No Mercy” Stone, an affluent MMA fighter, ex-marine and overall bad-ass Alpha Male and the apple of his eye Frankie. However, Frankie is with Gabriel’s best friend, Austin and has been for almost a decade. Until one night changes everything and they all must face their new situation.

When Gabriel is finally allowed to openly share his feelings for Frankie, it forever changes their relationship. But she’s weary of him since he’s always been a complete jerk to her and she never understood why. But now things are starting to make sense and even bigger issues are abound as Gabriel realizes he can’t commit to a “Happily Ever After” with the only woman he’s ever truly loved.

Will he be able to prove to her that he can commit all the way, or will he be another asshole in the long list of horrible men in Frankie’s life?

The characters in this story spoke volumes and were not only hot to read about, but they just had so much depth and devotion throughout the entire story. They had always been attracted to one another but relationship obligations and being true to those relationships, kept them from ever being close. Instead, they turned into enemies and openly disliked one another. While all along they were harboring heated feelings that they couldn't indulge in until the circumstances were in their favor.

A beautiful story that I will be recommending for a long time to come !

No Mercy is based in K. Bromberg's Everyday Heroes World. You don't have to have read the Everyday Heroes books to enjoy this one. I really liked this one. Gabriel is an MMA fighter. He has always like Francesca (Frankie). He's kind of a jerk to her because he can't have her but when her boyfriends leaves her, he all sweet and nice to her. Frankie's world has changed with one night and she leans on Gabriel. These two were cute together. Frankie is a strong character. She's been through a lot but doesn't take it laying down. Frankie know what she wants in a relationship and isn't going be taking for a ride again. I was mad at Gabriel for not thinking he could give her what she wanted. The side characters at the gym are great too and I was happy to find out at the end of this one that we'll other guys stories.

From the moment that Gabriel saw Frankie he felt something for her that he had never felt before so finding out she was involved with his best friend was a punch he wasn’t expecting. The strong emotions that he felt didn’t allow a friendship to develop so through the years instead he kept his distance.

Frankie thought she knew her boyfriend however one night made her realize that she loved the man she thought he was and not who he really was. At the lowest point in her life the last person she expected to be there for her was Gabriel.

Between their doubts and insecurities, they certainly faced their obstacles, but they not only proved that they are a perfect match and are so much stronger together than apart.

So my 4th book in the new Everyday Hero’s collection set in K Bromberg’s world with the three Malone brothers. I absolutely loved that series of books so I was very excited to hear about this new collection of books written by so many fantastic authors. I have not previously read anything by D.M. Davis but I really loved a good MMA book. This has everything you could possible want, a good story, a sexy af alpha hero that gets your blood pumping and melts your panties, and a strong heroine to balance it all out!

I’m so enjoying all these wonderful stories and getting to know some knew authors. I really think these collections are so very cool.

Another book that I put on the TBR 5 years ago - back then I think this was a definite go-to fun genre for me. Sporty alpha romance!! MMA fighting, I feel like I had that phase, LOL. The first handful of chapters I wasn't sure I was super into it...It did seem a little new adult for what I was feeling. I thought surely I won't read this whole series BUT once I really got into the story it actually did click with me and the last half I finished in a flash! And surprise surprise I downloaded book 2 - gotta see how Rowdy gets his girl!

This is my 1st book by D.M. Davis and, without a doubt, it will NOT be my last. I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!! Angst, dysfuntional families, a$$hole exes, bad boy alphas who deep down show a love that is unreal and a beautiful lady who keeps on rolling with all of the punches and showing them who is strong. ❤❤❤❤❤ I volunteered an honest opinion for this book.

Literally binged this in a few hours. I hadn’t even heard of this book until today but based on one phenomenal recommendation I decided to drop my others books and dive in.

The 🔥🔥🔥factor is off the charts! The plot was completely relationship focused and I loved it. Gabriel is such an alpha but the way he loves Frankie is utterly devastating but in the best way. Once Gabriel gets his head out of his butt, things go much smoother. I adored Frankie for her open heart with endless love but she was no pushover. She always looked out for herself.

Absolutely fabulous! Gabriel “No Mercy” Stone is the top of the food chain for The Black Ops MMA fighters. He originally is an ass to Frankie, their physical therapist. But when Frankie is hurt, his good streak comes out and blooms, although he is the tough guy that does not know how to deal with his feelings. Will he go down in flames or will he succeed in being Gabriel “the avenging angel”. Excellent book with hot, sweat dripping, panty dropping men!! When a man loves you with no mercy, you have a sex God at you feet!

I so enjoyed this book and the characters and the MMA world.

My heart hurt for the MF gal. She was a fresh of air and every corner she hit was hard. I honestly don’t know what I would of done if in her shoes.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!! 💗💗

“My angel is destined for heaven, and I’m destined for hell”

It’s a first time read from this author and I’m totally impressed.

Gabriel I fell in love with from the get go and Angel aka Frankie I just want to hug.

There’s A-Holeness, sexiness galore 🔥 🔥, effed upbringing, and soooo much more you HAVE to read.

“I’m going to love you with no mercy” ....
