Jason Fox has done it again with Embrace the Chaos. Packed with practical life hacks, this book has quickly become my new life bible. Foxy has delivered yet another inspiring and fantastic read, designed to help you rise higher and reach your full potential The book is divided into four sections: Mission, Recover, Chaos, and Calm. At first glance, these might seem overly simple, but once you dive into them, they offer a profound understanding, leaving you feeling supremely organized and at ease. I honestly don’t know where to start describing this book. I’ve marked over 25 sections with coloured sticky notes, each highlighting key points that resonate deeply with me. Even though I am ex-army I know I’ll be using these insights to enhance my life and improve how I think and act moving forward. I love Jason’s no-nonsense, down-to-earth writing style. It’s very British—entertaining, yet clear and concise. Each chapter ends with "The Look Forward," which I really enjoy. It offers a positive wrap-up and introduces new skill sets to carry into the future. The only tiny drawback, which almost made me dock half a star (though I completely understand given Jason’s background), is the mention of the British Military being one of the best in the world. Maybe it’s just the Australian in me reacting! Ha ha! All in all, I give this book a full 5 stars—it’s definitely worthy of that perfect score. Fantastic stuff, Foxy. Love it, mate!
On the whole I liked this book, while it was motivational and could be altered to suit someone who leads a relatively normal life, I found other bits a little too structured but then that's the life that Jason Fox has led and thrived at. The only thing I really didn't like was the ending but it was unfortunate that I was reading the very end bit just before I go to sleep, I wont spoil it for those still to read but if like me you have a fear of your own mortality, don't read this before your bed, although I have to agree with him in that we could all do with changing our view on our mortality and speaking about it more is a good thing it was just bad timing for me. The major positive that I took from reading this was that anything is possible we just have to set our minds to it and be persistent!
I couldn’t be any further away from Foxy’s fitness, bravery and adventurous spirit right now, but as a person with many chronic conditions, mind over matter truly is the best weapon and whilst I’ve heard a fair few similar tips before, reading this in Foxy’s voice and imagining the scenarios, has a harsh, but welcomed instruction.
