"If I'm the Queen of Hearts, then be my King of Spades."
The High King—now freed from his prison—continues to wreak havoc on the seven realms, but he made one wrong move. He kidnapped my best friend, and I'll stop at nothing to get him back. Even if it means holding the self-appointed king's cold dead heart in my bare hands.
I've set out into the realm of monsters, and all is going according to plan until it's not, and I find myself allied with the last person in Hell I'd ever fight beside.
Will we save Finn? Will we put an end to the High King's wrath? Will we stop Michael? Or has this all been for naught?
Regardless, we have very little time before Heaven descends with the intention of wiping us from existence.
Step aside, world. Alice Whittaker, future Queen of Hell and Slayer of Kings is coming through.
Best known for her #1 Amazon bestselling series, Dark Halos, Amanda Aggie has many titles.
She's a wife, a mother to two beautiful tiny humans, a Mexican food connoisseur, and lives in SW Missouri. She’s a non-recovering caffeine addict, and more importantly, she writes choking hazard, fantasy romance. Her books will have you laughing out loud, swooning, and biting your nails all in one sitting.
I loved this series! I hate that it ended on somewhat of a cliffhanger! But I'm so glad she was able to see her aunt and uncle again and finally meet her parents! I would love to see more of her life after winning the war and being reunited with her family and starting her own, but it didn't end too badly! I want to see Azmo falling in love so maybe there will be another book about him??

I have mixed feelings about this trilogy. Part of me liked it, the other part, not so much. Alright, this trilogy follows Alice, a young woman who is part witch and part something else. She's brought into Hell because apparently she is to become the wife of the prince of darkness, aka Kai. Who just so happens to be Lucifer's son. Anywho, throughout the trilogy, they try to save Hell from the horrible angels who wish to destroy it. Other than that being the main goal in the plot, there are other side adventures and scenes that bring forth some depth to the characters and situations. Think Alice in Wonderland mixed with Greek and Norse mythology.
However, the trilogy starts off kind of hasty, in my opinion. Especially between Alice and Kai. I didn't feel any real connection to them and their relationship, especially in book 1, other than pure lust. By the second book, it seemed that their relationship was something that the author quickly put together just to get the book moving. Don't get me wrong, the spicy scenes were definitely well written. The romance in between and relationship growth was lackluster. The third book was written slightly better than the first two. There was more action, more feeling. Why did the first two books lack this?
My other reason for not being crazy about the entire trilogy is the lack of editing. There are so many chapters with grammatical errors. Other chapters with font and sizing errors. One chapter was stated to have been Kai's point of view, but it was actually Alice's. So, yeah, the trilogy had the potential to be really great if the author had delved deeper into character relationship building instead of hastily putting it together. Even during the scenes between Alice and Finn, who is Kai's best friend, one moment he's introduced to Alice and within just a few short pages, they're the best of friends. Where were the scenes where you see Alice and Finn become friends? Oh, right, non-existent. However, I did love Finn's character. He brought a nice comedic essence into the books.
Overall, the trilogy wasn't bad. Lacked a bit of extra background, but the plot was interesting, at least enough to keep me going. The spice was there. The adventure and action were there, too. Everything else felt rushed.
My suggestion to the author is to invest in an editor, or a better one, if she already has one. My biggest pet peeve is horrible editing, or lack of. So I'll give the entire trilogy a 3.5 star rating solely because of the rushed feel. I'll forgive the editing bit.
EDIT BECAUSE I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO ADF THE FACT: she died and he finds out and then she goes to him to be like i’m not dead and he sleeps with her and then admits he thought it was someone else pretending to be her!? then goes on about how he is glad she is dead because looking out for her was too exhausting????? babe i beg if i were her i would’ve rather been dead than see that little fiasco. AND THEN SHE MARRIES HIM??? should’ve got with his brother ngl they had great chemistry and would’ve been a cool little twist.
weird because the plot of brilliant and i loved it but the love interests…not so much. kai and alice were just not applicable in my eyes. don’t care how much the fates were involved in his madness he still never fully thought she was capable of all she did. i don’t like how she just followed him once she became queen and said that all her thoughts would be voiced through him. WRONG! why did you become queen and complain about the lack of feminism if you have no desire to stand up to it! forget her little outburst because that was nothing why did she not actively try to change the courts mind. anyway great plot and storyline. alice should’ve ended up with no one

I got super excited by chapter 10. It would have been a great twist between Asmo and Alice. I was super disappointed at the end. With all the great chemistry between them, and Kai’s stupid words and deeds when he thought Alice died… I am disappointed. It was great until the end of this. Not even the epilogue makes up for that.
This book was action packed. I felt alot of stuff happened. There was sadness, grief, acceptance and then happiness. At one point I wasnt sure which direction the author was going and if we were going to switch love interest. This was a good ending for the couple and I am excited to know there are books for some of the side characters!
Amanda Aggie you have done it again!!!! This book 😍 I just can’t even describe how I feel after reading this book! I absolutely loved the relationships between everyone and feel the book wrapped everything up perfectly for me. This book had me laughing, shouting and crying! It was a real emotional rollercoaster! This series has been one of my favourite to read and I will definitely be re reading in the near future! I could not put this book down and have spent most of the day reading! I’m so sad that this series is over but cant wait for Asmo or Finns stories 🥰 After reading most of Amanda’s book I’m about to browse to see what else I can now read from her!
As always Amanda Aggie always delivers. This has been a very fun trilogy to read but this last book was the cherry on top!! I absolutely love how it ended and has set up her next characters set of books. Let just say I cannot wait!
okay so heres the deal. i really couldnt imagine a better ending to this trilogy. it was just the right amount of spicy, fluffy and atorytelling. it really answered ALL the questions you couldve had, esp ones ab Asmo
Alice being such a bitch got old fast. Asmodeus being her soul mate too was thrown in there and added nothing to the story. She Mary sue'd all the biggest baddest dudes like it was nothing and Kai and her fucking while he thought it was just someone that looked like her gave me the ick.

Ugh dangit... Started skimming at the 75% mark. I ended up dnfing around 85%. I loved the other two books sm! They were amazing... This one kind of fell flat for me. The first 60ish% was fantastic and then theres the wedding and then the war... Everything either felt rushed or i just lost interest. I think I knew how the book was gonna end. Truthfully i skimmed the last 15% and everything that i thought was gonna happen...happened. im a bit disappointed by that. I cant give this book below a three star simply because that 60% was terrific. So much action, so much love. Asmo and Finn are my favorites and i love them alot. I loved the adventures between asmo and alice. I loved the plot twists. I loved finn and his lover. it was so good and well written. Especially the plot twists. Holy shit. Reading about Asmo, Finn, Alice and their adventures saved this book tbh. I just couldnt bring myself to love Kai and Alice together anymore... Their love story was already solidified in my head and heart. I think the more i read i was wanting to just skip through everything because i was wanting to get to the knitty gritty. I already knew they loved each other. I knew they obsessed over one another. By the time the war started I already knew i was gonna be disappointed. I knew it was gonna be rushed. The fight against Michael was deemed to be this huge ordeal and then it didnt last long. I wished things could have been longer. I never say a book that iv dnfed could have been longer but im saying it could have been longer. Remove frilly stuff about Alice and Kai and focus on the war. It would have been a 4.5 star if it had more war and less fluff.
Id really give this a 2.5 star but I'm giving a 3 because 60% of the book was good and deserves that extra .5 point
The Crimson Queen was a magnificent conclusion to the Dark Halos trilogy. I laughed, cried, and nearly threw my kindle a few times. I sympathized with Asmo, the morally grey misunderstood brother and I really hope we get more from him soon. Alice's headstrong attitude has resonated with me throughout the trilogy, making her more relatable throughout each book. Her dedication to the people she loves, no matter what may happen to herself. The other creatures we encounter through her eyes, while traveling across the prison world in unfamiliar territory not knowing what she may encounter was so captivating and sucked me in further than I anticipated. It's rare when a series ends so well rounded that I can't seem to find a hole that wasn't filled or a situation unresolved. Amanda Aggie wrapped up Alice and Kai's story so well, there might as well be a Hell Fire bow wrapped around them and their conflicts they've had to fight to be together. I tried my best to stretch out their story, just so I didn't have to say goodbye to the characters. I would reread in a heartbeat, and intend to once I have the physical copies in hand.
This book was rather disappointing and hard to get through. There were so many random plot points that felt unnecessary or random.
I would’ve rather Alice end up with Asmo than with Kai. I don’t know about y’all, but if my man thought I was dead and then slept with someone that looked like me for closure, I would be livid. Not to mention he then gave the whole speech about how caring for her was exhausting. I get loving someone so much you don’t want anything bad happening to them, but to feel relief they’re dead???? That was my last straw. After that, I could not hop back on with the idea of her being with him.
Not to mention in the trilogy, there is this impending war going to happen, but it only takes place in the last 10% of the third book. For it to be such a big deal, it definitely needed more substance. To me that was just not well thought out and felt rather rushed when there was so much buildup for this catastrophic future.
Overall, I just could not get into this book like I could the others. Because of the plot kind of falling through and the love interest no longer making any sense to me.
This three part series has so much potential being that it draws on plenty of parallels from the likes of Alice in Wonderland, The plated prisoner series and even aspects of ACOTAR. However, it was lacking the emotional connection which led me to nearly DNF the series repeatedly - I just couldn’t bring myself to do it, too committed and needing to know how it actually ends. So instead I skim read, where possible.
For me unfortunately the main characters just didn’t feel real to me and I couldn’t bring myself to care about the main plot. I honestly had more interest in the stock characters and learning about Luri, Finn, Asmos, Azazel and Eva.
I would give anything to have more time with Asmo’s. His character is the only one I was drawn too.
Despite the lows, it had enough elements in the book to keep me reading. In terms of spice, it was swoon worthy and lovey-dovey romance although there are scenes that do have explicitness (personally, I felt they were tame although to somebody else they might beg to differ).
Amanda Aggie convinced me too well that kai is an asshole, no matter how many reasons and explanations you give me can make up for all his wrongdoings.. The brother however, that relationship was one i could support. But noo, that did not happen... What would have made this book a lot better is if the brother (i cannot for the life of me remember his name..) and Alice was the happy ever after instead. Give me more asshole-tendencies from Kai, less forgivness from Alice and there we have a greate book. I actually thought during The brother and Alice' first meating that this was a ACOTAR type book, and that wiuld have been greate, absolutely wonderful. And give me more details about Finn and his Lady's relationship! It seemed like to me that Finn should be (unknowingly offcourse) a dragon or something similarly powerful and wild and/or with a strong mating drive.
For short, this made me hate Kai to much so everything he said and did only made me uninterested and angry. Alice only wanted a normal life but chose the opposite. The one reasong i kept going was the brother..
Kia and Alice are back and everything is set on a collision course with fate. Though I supposed Lucifer is still trying to play all of it from the middle. Sometimes to be a Queen or King you must make the hard decision. And with these to it feels like there is no good decision.
Michael and the angels are coming, Finn is about to be killed, Amos is alive, Lucifer isn't willing to give Kia his crown and Alice decided to do what she does best... Wing it and try not to die.
By the last 1/4 of the books I was holding my breath trying to Will everyone to live to the happily ever after part. Can the Crimson Queen save her king of spades or will the angels and deamons win?
I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Kia and Alice it feels like just yesterday he was kidnapping her from her relm. Or her and Finn partying that first time. But I'm so happy with their story and the way everyone found peace...
The Crimson Queen by Amanda Aggie is the third book in the Dark Halos Trilogy. Book 3 is the conclusion to Kai and Alice's story and what an ending it was!
I've groan attached to Kai and Alice's story from the very beginning and it saddens me that their story has ended. My only comfort is that I will be enjoying Kai and Alice's best friend's story next.
As per usual, Amanda has beautifully painted every scene with detail. Her descriptions of Hell and it's occupants is described so well that it's so easy to imagine it all. I'm always transported into the realm that she creates and find myself deep into the heart of it.
Their steamy scenes are filled with heat that matches Hell's fire. Amanda's take on Hell, Lucifer, the angels, Limbo.... are not what you would call "typical". I love the twists that she created and the path that she took to produce such an interesting story like no other out there.
The conclusion to Alice's story! The ending tied up the overall story nicely, and there were some really sweet moments. Dramatic ones too, but also some sweet ones. The final story focused mostly on Alice and the changes to her life, and magic, as she tried to save Finn. After the end of book 2 you knew there'd be some fallout and drama, but I think it all worked out nicely. Asmo was an interesting character, one who was hard to figure out. I loved the way his story ended. That was fun! Whilst I liked this book, and the series as a whole, there were a few spots where I would have liked more. The battle that had been looming the entire trilogy wasn't as long or intense as expected, and to me, Kai wasn't really present in this book. It focused on Alice, which is fine, but I would have liked more of him. I enjoyed this book and series, and look forward to reading more from this author.
I've been ridiculously obsessed with The Dark Halos trilogy from the first page of book one. I'm so sad that the trilogy is finally done!
That being said, I LOVE the way that Aggie ended Alice and Kai's story! This book had me feeling all of the things. I actually found myself being irritated with Alice a few times even though I understood why she did the things she did. I don't usually get upset with the MC's the way I did with both Alice and Kai.
Then there's Asmo and Finn. I LOVE that the epilogue is about Asmo and it hints at him getting his own series too. And Finn?! his regrowing baby hands nearly unalived me! I love how funny Finn is. And I love the friendship that developed between Alice and Finn!
I'm so sad that this story is over. But I'm glad I can go back and reread them whenever I want.
The conclusion to the Dark Halos trilogy is finally here! Alice and Kai are back for one final battle as Alice works to save her friend from the High King and stop Michael before it's too late.
I have greatly enjoyed this series and watching as this group of characters grew together. Alice, Kai and Finn are a trio that I just love, and while I'm sad to see their story end, the author left them in a great place. Everyone got a happy ending that was deserved and we had a conclusion to just about everything plot point.
One thing I would have liked to see more of is just a better build up to events. The major events had a ton of build up, and the outcome wasn't worth it. I wanted more from the characters and just more action in general. We've spent three books working towards this goal and it fell a little flat.
While the story had its strengths—particularly the strong beginning, consistent worldbuilding, and engaging side characters—it ultimately fell short of its potential. The rushed climax and underwhelming resolution of the central conflict left me feeling disappointed. The romance, though central to the plot, lacked depth and failed to evoke any real emotional investment. However, the exploration of themes like the complexity of leadership and the innocence of those living under oppressive regimes was well-handled and thought-provoking. Despite its flaws, the book offered some enjoyable moments, particularly through its worldbuilding and the dynamic between Alice and Asmodeus. It’s a decent conclusion to the trilogy but could have been much stronger with better pacing and more nuanced antagonists.
This was the perfect ending for this world wind series! This story had me going in an out of emotions from start to finish. You get a little bit of everything! Alice is a force; she is strong, loving, and feisty. The author did an amazing job creating this world throughout the series and bringing Alice’s story to a close. In addition, the side characters were just a lovable and interesting! I would love to read of their if Amanda continues this world.
Alice has grown so much throughout this series and finding her way in a world she was literally dragged into. From living in Hell Hole, trying to learn what happened with her parents, shady-ass Lucifer plotting… this girl went through the ringer.
Wow. To say that I read this book would be an understatement, I devoured it. I started the book at 8:30 in the morning and finished it by 6pm, honestly I didn't put the book down. I loved the first two books, but knowing this was the last book for Alice and Kai made me waver a little when I started.
This book was honestly an emotional roller coaster for me, I feel so in love with the characters that I felt nearly everything they went through.
I quickly fell in love with this author and her writing. I can't wait to see what comes next. The end of this book does hint at another spin-off, and I'm here for it. Maybe I'll get to see more of Alice and Kai there, too.
I was hoping for more answers about God himself and if he ever returns but it was a wonderful ending! I'm sad to see the story end but it was a fantastic read. I couldn't put it down. I was also glad to find out that the devil himself was able to redeem himself in the end! Alice and Kai's story was beautiful and full of fun and adventure. I love a strong and powerful female lead character and Alice definitely gives you that. She is stubborn, and a badass with an attitude!! When Luri returned and found out Alice was alive, it was so heart warming, funny, and exciting! So many emotions while reading this!!!

This book is the final in Alice and Kai’s story. After Kai’s behavior in the second book, I was hesitant to read this one, as I was not a fan of him in that book. I know the Fates played a hand in that, but man did I want to knock sense in to him.
. . .
I kept expecting the high king to pop back up after Alice killed him, especially after Asmo’s duplication remark. We did get closure with the battle and things wrapped up with Alice’s family, but there were also some parts that felt rushed or confusing to me.
I’m so glad that Finn will get his own book, and that Asmo will get his own love story that he deserves.
I really enjoyed this series the storyline was great and it had it all, love, spice, drama, action even some really laugh out loud moments. I enjoyed and loved watching Alice & Kai's relationship grow stronger throughout the series, lots of ups and downs and back and forth. But in the end their love and their trust for each eventually prevailed. Lastly all three books could really do with some major and I mean major editing. Plot and word errors throughout the whole book for all three books was really confusing at times and very frustrating. But overall I did still enjoy this series. And look forward to reading Asmo's story...
Okay, so I know that Kai is the love interest, Alice's fated mate etc etc, but why is his brother Azmo kinda...😏😍🥵 dont get me wrong, I like Kai, I do, BUT I WANT AZMOOOO!! I need his book like NOW, I cant have the epilogue be like that and not read his book immediately!!
i really enjoyed this trilogy!! I feel as though the final battle was a bit rushed. Throughout the three books, Michael was made out to be this big, bad man, that I'm not all that sure he actually was lol.
I am very pleased about Finn, he was one of my fav characters, and Eva sounds sooooo cool!!! I will definitely be reading their book!!
This series was so addictive! A fast pace, where you can’t turn the page fast enough to find out what is coming next. There’s magic, battles of life and death, fights in relationships, and ohhh those smexy scenes! All of the characters have come such a long way since the beginning of the series and I loved to see them grow. Even Lucifer has his moment to finally shine. As much as I hated seeing this series end, there is closure with a HEA. This is an amazing and page turning paranormal romance series I will recommend to everyone!
An amazing end to the Dark Halos trilogy! I absolutely loved the character development in both Kai and Alice and in their relationship! This book had me crying one minute and laughing the next, which I honestly wasn’t expecting! I did feel like it dragged in some spots so I gave it 4/5 stars, but definitely worth the read!
I truly love Amanda Aggie’s writing and the badass FMC that she brings to life! She also did an amazing job of setting up the next books she has planned for Finn as well as Asmo. I can’t wait to read more of her work!

This series was an amazing one for sure. I absolutely am sad that Alice and Kai's adventure has come to an end but I'm so happy that there is a new series coming to continue on with side characters. I will admit this last book made me switch brothers because now I am absolutely crushing on Asmodeus and can't wait to read his book. I stumbled upon Amanda Aggie by pure coincidence and I'm so happy I did. Thank you so much and if anyone wants spice with a beautifully built world and adventure then Amanda Aggie is your author.
