Great read!

The book is so beautiful. The relationship between Princess Anil and Khun Pin is so delicate yet fiery! I love how Anil is such flirt with Lady Pin. Can't wait for FB adaptation!

Desde antes de leer la novela sabía que le iba a dar 5 estrellas porque lo que me estoy obsesionando con la serie (que está en emisión) no es normal, la estoy disfrutando muchísimo. Me basaré en lo que opino también de la serie para poder reseñar el libro como corresponde. En verdad empecé la historia por Freenbecky, ya las había conocido en GAP the series, y obviamente tenía que ver su segunda serie juntas.

Al inicio no sabía si me estaba gustando, porque además tiene un cliché que odio (childhood friends to lovers) pero podríamos decir que es una historia que amo con un cliché que odio. Tanto Freen como Becky actúan súper bien en la serie, y es tan fiel al libro que me estaba encantando volver a vivir cada escena (aunque me falta por leer el segundo volumen).

Mi personaje favorito sin duda alguna es Anil. Es súper fuerte, decidida, le da igual romper las reglas de la sociedad y la admiro un montón porque esta historia se ambienta en los años 50 en Tailandia. El shippeo con Pin es increíble, en la serie tienen muchísima química (aparte porque Freen y Becky actúan increíble) y aquí también estaba viviendo por el romance entre ellas. Otro personaje que amo es Anan aunque hablaré más de él en el segundo volumen porque es donde tendrá más protagonismo.

Me ha encantado aprender sobre la cultura tailandesa, a primeras puede parecer que no pero es súper diferente de Corea y Japón. En la serie también disfrutaba muchísimo de ver ropa tradicional tailandesa y costumbres de allí.

Además esta es la primera novela tailandesa que he leído en mi vida, y amo. La he tenido que leer en inglés porque no encontraba la traducción a español aunque no ha sido un problema.

Qué más puedo decir de esta historia que no haya dicho ya, es que lo tiene todo: romance gl, cultura asiática, una adaptación a serie increíble... En fin, esto se está convirtiendo en mi obsesión actual, lo recomiendo 10/10.

I watched Gap The Series, craved for more of the two main characters in the web series. This is the literature I found related to them, a book that will be cast into a drama series. Not a bad read if one ignores the conventional grammar, I am totally curious how the drama series will turn out.

4 stars. I’ll admit that this took a bit for me to get into but when it picked up it was good. The best aspect though is definitely the romance between Khun Pin and Anil. I love them together so much and thought their relationship was great and so romantic. I’ll definitely be getting to book two soon.

Concluí el primer tomo de esta hermosa novela.
Si te interesa el GL, este es perfecto para ello. La historia se desarrolla en Tailandia en los años 50-60

Ame por completo que durante la lectura te agrega palabras de allá y que viene con un pequeño glosario explicándote el significado, pude conocer más de la cultura tailandesa y eso es fascinante. Además muy bien llevado, tanto el contexto de que en esos años era muy mal visto el que te enamorarás de alguien de tu mismo sexo, y los pensamientos que varios personajes llegan a tener debido a ello y el cómo era la mujer vista en ese tiempo. Sin duda alguna lo manejaron bien y realista.

Todos los personajes los ame, pero Anil tiene mi corazón bien ganado, una mujer fuerte, decidida y como dijo la Tía Pad, una mujer adelantada a su época.

Ya muero de ganas por leer el segundo tomo.
Btw: ya también comencé a ver la serie y es hermosa.
Sin duda esta se volvió mi novela favorita

This story has quite a slow burn since it dives deep into Anil’s life from childhood, but the author’s writing is engaging enough that it never feels boring. For historical novels like this, the author really needs to set up the world, the atmosphere, and all the little details carefully so readers can truly immerse themselves in the story and this one does it well.

Even though volume 1 mostly focuses on Anil and Pin’s younger years, with not much action or dramatic plot twists, it’s still full of tenderness. Their genuine bond and the way they communicate feel so refreshing, especially when so many stories rely on miscommunication just to create tension.

The author truly nailed the character development, I honestly love every single character (except Khun Krua, of course). Because each of them is written so vividly, they feel like real people, not just names on a page.

I read this book after watching the GL series, so I had high expectations for it. It blew me away by surpassing all my expectations and becoming one of my favorite books ever. The book is so well-written, the story is beautiful, and I can't get over how well-planned every single chapter was. The story builds up slowly, and I felt like it was a puzzle gradually solving itself as I turned each page. I highly recommend it.

In the context of the series being played out on streaming channels, I just needed to see if this had a happy ending. What I got was a whole lot more, as I learned so much about Thai culture through this and even if the English isn't right at times or the dialogue isn't clearly defined, that is a small pebble I am sooo willing to disregard because of the sweet story that unfolds. It is cute and sweet and heartbreaking and relatable and by god it's a beautiful love story. Moving on to part 2.

Read and skimmed on parts that felt a bit dragging to have an idea what the plot for the adaptation would be.

The storyline is good esp for someone who genuinely enjoys stories set from the old days. Wish this was translated better though
