From start to finish, Muse keeps the reader engaged. She's honest about her feelings and her faith as she has to amp herself up in preparation for not 1 but two trials (i.e., one plea out that was overturned). Quite frankly, I don't understand how she maintained her sanity. I really loved that she included some of the transcript information. This book is a true encouragement for survivors of violent crime. And seeing her struggle with faith in such a real and authentic way promotes what it really means to have a relationship with God. Obviously, this violation of her whole existence was NOT her fault. However, I appreciated her encouraging others to trust their gut. The good Samaritans in this tragedy gave me some hope for humanity. Anyone who is interested in true crime should take a look at this recounting of the worst day of Muse's life. It's a testament to the tenacity required to overcome tragedy.
