A renowned surgeon, my career was my sole focus. Yet I had a wife and beautiful children and let them slip away. I’ve learned the hard way. I’m more devoted to my family than ever. If only they didn’t live with a new man now. My ex-wife and I are better as friends, and my kids are old enough to forgive me. If I could only forgive myself. 3.5 ⭐️

This is the first time I have read a book by this author. It was an easy read, frustrating at times, for me, as a reader. It had so much more potential.

I felt like the FMC should have been stronger in the face of how he behaved at times. There's no cheating, etc. but I think it took him too much time / people telling him that he's behaving like an as* for him to open his eyes and finally decide that "hey, yes, I want her, I want that family I deserve, I want to balance better the time I offer my career, daughters and the woman I love" etc. I'm ranting right now ... I see that other ARC readers offered better reviews / ratings, but I have the feeling that this book was not for me because I wanted MORE! He talked a lot in his head (and those thoughts were too repetitive in my opinion) how he is an workaholic, he does not want to be like his father etc., he admits he made mistakes in the past with how he put his career upfront his own family etc., but it took him TOO MUCH FUCKING TIME to correct his mistakes and put the FMC on the first place :).

I do feel she deserved so much more and earlier in their relationship!

I quite hated a little bit all the unwanted drama regarding her husband. I don't want to give spoilers. Maybe I'll edit the review at a later time, but that part was filler in my eyes :). That extra character could have been easily introduced just through his relationship with her BFF's husband.

I liked her more than him. She had such a sad life once her husband became ill. And afterward. She did grow and started to be more confident and to want to finally live her life. I loved her mother and Agnes, her roommate! Agnes is the bomb, haha.

I did not like the trope of the experienced MMC and the so not ever satisfied FMC (even though she's 38!!), until she meets him. Don't get me started on the spicy scenes. There were some expressions used that were just cringe. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that agrees that it's better to just use the word "cl1t" instead of "bundle of nerves." That first spicy scene made me laugh out loud.

Thank you for the ARC! 🖤 I'm pretty sure I will never receive an ARC from this author, but it's fine. I made my peace with this. 🤭

This being said, I don't think it was a badly written book. I did read it, didn't I? But I will not reread, and I don't know, I don't think I'll continue the series. I don't trust MMC's friends 🤪.

I need to stop picking up ARCS, no matter how interesting they may sound bc I read books next according to my mood, so I don't like the schedule ARCs put me on. I've been good at resisting, but I did sign up for an ARC today 🙈🙈🙈

Also, lately, I've signed up for ARCs, only to realize I didn't want to read the book anymore, but I felt obligated to.

Hopefully, I like this one...

DNF around 20%:

I don't know, I just couldn't get into this one. It took me a second to get into the book because it being written in the present tense threw me off. But I've read plenty of books written in the present tense, so even though it's not my favorite tense to read in, it wouldn't make me DNF. Also, the formatting on the ARC had tighter line space than I'm used to, which made it less appealing to read. I thought this book would be a second-chance romance, but it isn't. Dr. Weston is divorced and Poppy is a widow.

I felt like I was getting a day-to-day rundown of Broadie's life, but Poppy was barely in it. No offense, but I didn't care about his kids. I kind of sighed when I had to read that chapter when he went to the restaurant, the same thing when Poppy goes to visit her mom. A lot seemed to be happening, but nothing (to progress the relationship forward) was happening at the same time.

I also didn't get Broadie's fixation on Poppy besides a sexual attraction as the two had barely talked. Then Chapter 11 ends with Broadie asking her out, but Chapter 12 doesn't pick up from that. I was so confused.

I seem to be an anomaly when it comes to the other reviews, so maybe it's just me. I didn't have the patience to continue trying to get into this book :/ I skimmed ahead, but I still couldn't get into the book. Life's too short to force yourself to read books you don't want to read.

Dr Broadie Weston is a divorced father of two, self confessed workaholic. He’s a sexy surgeon, a billionaire and has just spotted Poppy and she turns his life upside down, especially as she’s not interested in him.

Poppy is committed to her job as a pharmacist, she has been struggling to get past her husbands death 8 years ago and suffering survivors guilt. She wants to make changes and move forward and when she gets an opportunity to go on a trip she decides it’s time to start living again. Then she’s asking herself if it’s all a dream as in her hotel is none other than St Luke’s royalty Dr Broadie Weston. Is it all too good to be real?

This slow burn is written in a way that you really get to know the characters so it could almost be real but then it’s sprinkled with enough drama, spice and fantasy to ensure you’re drawn into another world.

Broadie and Poppy’s HEA is not easily achieved, both of them need to work on themselves and because of this there are misunderstandings and missed opportunities.

This is the first book in a new series and can be read as a stand-alone however, there are characters that have featured in other books and it was great to have them woven into the story. I look forward to more from the Billionaires Club.

I enjoyed this book! I really adored both main characters, Broadie (Dr. Weston) and Poppy. I’ve read all the books in LM’s universe and love how all the books are interconnected standalones. Her characters and plots aren’t confusing if you haven’t read prior books, but if you have, it’s nice to read about and develop more of these characters from the other novels.

For this book, what I really liked was the angsty slow burn and banter. Our girl Pop made that billionaire WORK for her! I enjoyed working through each character’s pasts and feeling like I was growing with them through their past regrets and traumas. Both characters come from very different worlds and carry separate baggage, so there was enough nuance to keep the book interesting. Poppy was still working through the inevitable stages of grief after the loss of her husband, she was learning to live again without guilt and questioning herself. On the contrary, Broadie was learning to re-prioritize his time and that things do not always have to revolve around a career to have a rich, successful and full life.

The only complaint I have is there’s a little too much medical and unnecessary jargon explained. I understand that the author is in the medical field and not all of the readers will understand terms used, but that’s what Google is for. A lot of these things were over explained or I feel the average person may not even care about them because they don’t pertain to the plot or the book.

I’m excited for the next book! Really excited for Dr. Hart’s book in the series.

DR. WESTON BY L. M. FOX

🍰5
🌶️4

Planning a whole charade to get a date with a woman you hardly know sounds pretty much insane. And said woman is jaded, hurt by betrayal and has been a widow for almost a decade. Yeah, that doesn’t sound so far fetched when you are billionaire surgeon. Which is what Dr. Brodie Weston does to win Poppy over. Because they work in the same hospital and it might be weird to date a colleague, so he has to find a way for her to say yes, and he sure has the resources.

This book! L. M. Fox I adore your books. Why are they so good! I always keep thinking about them after i read them.

With Dr. Weston there was no exception, Broadie’s slight obsession made him sooo cute, but then he was dirty talking like the best of them; and of course he was flawed he was a workaholic but with a heart of gold.

I loved Poppy so much, I felt a kindred spirit with her. She knew what she wanted, she made herself be respected and took her time to feel good and certain.

But what i loved the most was trying to figure out what was going on, the drama and sorta of mystery was latent and I want to know more, I have my theories. Seeing the interconnected world from the other books is something I enjoy very much and I even went to the other books to look for stuff I remembered. And the other characters, I can’t wait to read their stories.

I received this book as an ARC read by the author. This is my honest review!

I have only read a few books by L.M. Fox, but I have to say, none of her books have left me disappointed. I loved Dr. Weston, this is a new favorite for me in the billionaire romance books. The story was well written and just so good. The characters were very relatable, and it just tied the whole book together. The smutty scenes were HOT!

The two main characters, Broadie and Poppy, are just so amazing to read about. You'll read about their friends like Kat & Nick and Broadies friends that make up the Billionaire boys club. You'll fall in love with all these great characters!

Broadie is a surgeon whose focus has always been working. He hangs with his closest friends as much as he can at the club. He's failed his daughters in his eyes. But he wants to make more time for other things besides work. Like spending more time with his girls.

Broadie sees this beauty in the hospital cafeteria and instantly wants her. Thinking how he had never seen her before. Come find out works in hospital pharmacy.

Poppy is still grieving after years of her husband being gone when she meets Broadie again. She's not sure she is ready to date... Can she finally move on and date again...

You'll have to read the book and find out!

Brilliant read!

Dr Brodie Wetston and Poppy Danforth

The Billionaire Series Book 1

Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(but would give more if I could)
Spice 🌶🌶🌶
Quote "Your scent is irresistible. There was nothing else in here that had my mouth watering, so I knew it had to be you."

Brodie Weston, the divorced surgeon with 2 grown daughters that he's been a part-time dad to has work, has always been his priority until he bumps into Poppy Danforth, the pharmacist in his hospital. He decides it's time to get his life back on track and his priorities sorted.
Poppy isn't ready to move on she's still grieving her husband Dan, who died just as their life together was starting.
They are just perfect for each other even if they don't see to start off with.
The plot of the story is good, and it's full of twists and turns and certainly secrets you don't see coming. It is a story that will certainly pull you in.
I'm not going to give any spoilers, but this book is full of emotions and depth that we have come to love with any LM Fox book.
I love that we get snippets of other characters from previous books, too.
I would like Gavins' story one day, but I can't wait for the next book in the Billionaire Series.
Well done, LM. Another fantastic read!!🥰😘🥰

I have read a few books by this author and I haven’t been disappointed! Her writing style is beautiful and you fall in love with her characters easily; Dr. Weston is no different. It’s filled with raw emotion and the character development throughout the story is impeccable; you feel their emotions with them. I also liked how this story was interconnected with other characters from Layla’s stories. Overall, if you’re looking for a book with romance, forgiveness, and an alpha man with a dirty mouth (of course!), this is for you!

DNF

I read 100 pages, but I couldn’t do it anymore. The main male lead just fixed a work giveaway to get the main female character to go to a private location so he can just surprise her by showing up randomly. Eew. Like, I thought the male lead was okay at first, but then the mention of using escort services, going to high-end gentlemen clubs (aka sex clubs) and then using his money to trap a woman into going to another country only to try and show up and “Woo” her.

Also, this book is written as if the author didn’t plan anything out. Just started writing and then thought up what should happen next… There was just nothing going on or anything that made me push to finish more!

And if all the men are as sleazy as this one, count me out!

I absolutely adored this book!
Seeing the good doctor be his smooth and suave self with everyone in his orbit, and then becoming a marshmallow for his lady was so satisfying to read.

As usual, the friend groups we all love getting a glimpse of in the LM Fox universe made an appearance, and I love a good cameo.

This story has heat and heart, and I can’t wait for her next release!

This author’s books are always sultry and spicy reads, but I also enjoy seeing places that I frequent in real life, such as the vineyard mentioned in this book. It’s wonderful to have a visual of the places you know and love personally, making their way between the pages.

Dr. Weston of L.M. Fox, is the first book in The Billionaire Boys Club Series, the sexy Doctor Broadie Weston is a wealthy general surgeon and his life is his career, he has two daughters and is divorced, and although he tries to make time to see his daughters he always finds himself very busy, the same as for dating and meeting someone, and although he has plenty of women willing to go out with him, among those nurses and other colleagues at the hospital, his rule is never to get involved with the hospital staff and he is simply not looking for a relationship, until one day at the cafeteria he meets a woman who leaves him breathless and he is more than determined to meet her. Poppy has been working as a pharmacist at the hospital for approximately seven years. She is a widow and is still trying to overcome the pain and grief for the lost of her husband, so she concentrates on work and caring for her mother, who is in a nursing home, because she has begun to suffer from nocturnal dementia and cannot be alone, it has not been easy for Poppy to overcome mourning and although she is not looking for a relationship, she does want to have a connection with a man and although the handsome Dr. Weston seems interested in her, she knows how things are at the hospital and prefers not to have anything to do with the men who work there. But Broadie is more than willing to do what it takes to get close to her, I won't say more so as not to spoil the story, except that this could put him in a bad situation when she finds out what he did to get her to give him a chance.
A fun, sweet, romantic, sexy story with stories of improvement that will captivate you from the first pages. I cried, laughed and fell in love with these characters, I was enchanted by this story and I already want more from this whole group of interesting men. Highly recommended!
*Thanks to L.M. Fox for my ARC. I voluntarily leave my honest review*

Altamente Recomendada!

I've read enough of this author to understand now that she has a way with writing about coping with trauma. I can appreciate the way she doesn't concentrate deeply on the past...just how it affects the characters' future. And its written smoothly, without darkness. Poppy is shrouded in mystery initially in Dr. Weston's eyes, but he's drawn to her, perhaps to the sadness that she hides away from most people. Maybe they hold the same type sadness?

Dr. Weston makes some questionable choices to get Poppy's attention, but you can't help but immediately like him. Is it the way his staff seems to love him? Is it the way he treats his patients? Is it his love for his adult daughters? Either way, he is swoon worthy pretty much out of the gate.

"Looking up, I find the server has left us. “I’m sorry, girls. I’ve been a really crappy father.” My youngest slides her hand over mine and gives me an apologetic look while her sister keeps her arms crossed over her chest as if she’s waiting for me to continue. “Listen, you’d be proud of me. The hospital administrator is pushing me to take on the medical director position at the hospital, and I told him no. I honestly want to slow down and spend more time with you.”

Dr. Weston and Poppy seem to both be going through a existential crisis separate of each other, and each decide that they need to make some changes to their lives. I enjoyed reading about the club and how Author Fox brought back characters from previous books (it's not necessary to read other books first. This can be read as a standalone). I also loved reading about Poppy's interest in pottery.

Let's talk about the Kintsugi pottery! I instantly was fascinated with this and had to look it up further!

"Kintsugi is believed to be created in the 15th century, (金継ぎ, "golden joinery"), also known as kintsukuroi, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum; the method is similar to the maki-e technique. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise." (Wikipedia)

Poppy and Broadie end up playing with this type of pottery, and it certainly can be used as a metaphor for them both in this story! Kintsugi is absolutely beautiful, and I suggest readers of this review look up this process. It has influenced many artists today, and you will be able to see why. Mending what's broken to create something brand new is the moral of this book.

I also really liked how these two challenged each other. Neither one was really great with dating each other, but there was this spark between them that made each of them sit up and take notice.

"Poppy takes a step closer. “Can we talk? Just for a minute?”
“I’m heading out. It’s not a good idea that we talk when I’m like this.” “Where are you going?” Her tone carries a bite to it. My gaze snaps to hers, confirming her suspicions.
“Meeting the guys for a drink.”
“Ah. So, it’s okay if you’re with them when you’re like this?” She uses her fingers to make air quotes around ‘like this.’ “I guess I misunderstood what was happening here.” She waves her finger back and forth between the two of us."

Author Fox wrote a great second chance story with stubborn people dealing with baggage. There is a twist in there that I thought was handled with care by the author, and I was very pleased that there was no drama included with it. Author Fox knew what she was doing in this story, from beginning to end. Especially when she gave Agnes the best lines in the book.

"“All jokes aside. You’re a beautiful woman. You deserve to be treated that way. Forget the flowers and fancy dinners. Those men are a dime a dozen. You get yourself a real man. One who makes you feel like the sun won’t rise without you.”

I absolutely love a book involving a doctor & when you add a hospital environment & a touch of spice to the mix, count me in because I will devour it! Dr. Broadie Weston is a very busy surgeon whom has always focused on his career, which also put strain on his marriage & his relationship with his kids that ultimately led to divorce. As years past he realized he job has became his whole life, but he did find spare moments to spend with his daughters whom he loves very much. Then one day he sets his sights on Poppy Danforth one of the hospital pharmacist & he can’t seem to stop thinking about her. After being turned down by Poppy, he makes it his mission to get a chance with her even if that meant forging the truth a little to get her to the destination. Now Poppy has been mourning the death of her husband Dan for the past 8 years, he died of ALS after battling with it for 3 years. Poppy is afraid to jump into a relationship especially one with Dr. Weston because he already has a hard time prioritizing time for his daughters & add a relationship to the mix it will only become more difficult if he doesn’t start limiting himself when it comes to the hospital. The two of them can’t stop the connection they feel for each other, so when they do get a those few moments together after returning home from the trip they make the most of it. Broadie finally takes the hint to cut back at the hospital only after Poppy ends things when she finds out how she obtained the trip to Jamaica & how Broadie wasn’t their for a conference after all, but overall she refuses to be in a relationship that was built on a lie. After some time & groveling, Poppy finds two girls at her front door who happen to be Broadies daughters. After an emotional conversation Poppy finds herself at Dr. Westons house, which it honestly sent my heart into overdrive! After that big hurdle is when everything really fell into place for them & it made want to cry, but it was happy tears especially when Sara came into the picture or when they went back to Jamaica because that was a pretty amazing surprise Broadie planned! Overall I loved these two & their story, it made me heart do flips just from how Dr. Weston instantly knew she was meant to me his. LM Fox did an excellent job writing these characters & I can’t wait to see who is next in the Billionaire Boys Club!

“It kind of stinks that I’ve always been a rule follower. It’s nearly impossible for me to stop reading a book I’ve started, even when it falls flat.”

Why yes, dear sweet Poppy, I can TOTALLY relate to this thought! Lemme tell you, this book is a slow starter. I received an ARC, and I picked it up at least three times before I was finally able to finish it. But I’m so glad I pushed through! Poppy is a long-time widow who is finally getting her groove back. She is dealing with a lot, and she needs her a strong man to help support her physically, mentally, and emotionally. And that’s totes where Brodie comes in. He is a surgeon who is a divorcee, a father, and also a workaholic. His career ended his last marriage, and he’s been status quo with his regular hookups. But then he catches a glimpse of Poppy, and his whole world changes. Now that he’s found “the one,” he’s ready to slow life down and enjoy it. He wants to be there for his two GROWN daughters, who play a minor role in this book, thank the good lawd. Now that he’s found Poppy, he must convince her he’s “the one” for her. And convince her he does….

“Pop, you know I love you, but there’s no way in hell I’d go to an art class. I’ve barely done anything in years but work. That would drive me insane.” Poppy is staring at me with her mouth hanging open. “What?” “Did you just say I love you?”

Y’all. Y’ALL, I can’t with his man! I swooned so hard here. I firmly believe that you often say those three precious words for the first time when you don’t realize you really mean them. And you don’t realize you mean them until much, MUCH later in the relationship. It was at this moment in the book that I KNEW I’d finish this novel. It would not be a DNF or even a not for now! It was gonna be a “Let’s do this thang!” read. *cue giddiness*

“I cannot tell you what a turn on it is to me that you read. Specifically, that you enjoy reading romance.”

Ladies and gents. Find you a SO that lives by this quote. Brodie is one smart gent, and he’s sure to find his HEA. As I’m sure you’ll discover once you stop reading my review and just pick up Dr Weston!

Get ready for lots of 🔥🔥🔥 from The Billionaire Boys Club Series! I loved getting a bit of crossover from previous characters who help build a cast of characters who are both relatable and a firm foundation for the new faces who join them.

Broadie and Poppy are our main characters for this book - both working at St. Luke's hospital. They've both worked there for several years, often crossing paths, but it's not until the start of the book where Broadie finally *sees* Poppy. In a flash, she's ALL he sees! I find him admirable in the way that he's still devoted to his patients despite his billionaire status. Poppy knocks him out of his humdrum life and he decides to make it his mission for her to see him. Of course, she's seen him, but he doesn't know the depths of pain that her past brings for her.

Poppy is still not fully over losing her husband. She had to go through the hardship of marriage that includes 'Until death do us part' and it took a lot out of her. Her friend and work colleague, Kat, encourages her to start living life again, including focusing on having fun, dating, and even seeing a therapist. When she discovers a big secret that her husband kept from her during their entire relationship, her idyllic memories explode right in her face. Poppy fights hard -- and I loved that it wasn't an easy journey. It makes the rewards all that much sweeter.

Broadie fights his own past, battling within himself with being an absent parent to his girls, putting 110% of his focus on working. He knows the demon he fights when he comes overly stressed, attempting to hide it through a meaningless physical relationship. But when he meets Poppy, something stirs in his soul that hasn't in a while.

Overall, I really enjoyed seeing how Poppy and Broadie come together, despite all their flaws, baggage, and pasts. I would've liked to have seen a little more buildup of interactions prior to Broadie's plan to make her his, but ultimately, these two were perfect for one another!

,, No other woman could bring me to my knees Poppy. I'll do anything to make this work. ''

I loved this book very very much, the story, the relationships and the Hot scenes 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ and meeting all friends ( I so enyoj series where the characters are interconected and you can meet old characters again).

This is the first book of a new series and one I couldn’t put down. This can be read as a standalone, but all of LM Fox’s books are interconnected. She is a somewhat new author to me so I’ve only read a few of her books. The books that I have read so far, I’ve really enjoyed, but this book pulled me in and has me going to find a suggested reading order so I can get an even better experience with her books!

I loved the heart of Dr. Broadie Weston. Through all of his workaholic tendencies and regrets, I loved that he finally got out of his own head and listened to everyone telling him the same thing and fixed himself and all his relationships. I do with that it would’ve happened sooner, but it didn’t take away from the story for me. I loved how he pushed his children to be better and selfless. I loved how he bonded so quickly with Poppy’s mother and roommate. The length he went to in order to bring joy and excitement to her mother, her mother’s roommate and the rest of the residents at the nursing home is definitely what sealed the deal of him winning me over. Working in a nursing home for years, I’ve always wished that I had the funds to do what he did and more for all my nursing home family (patients).

I do wish there was more of Poppy’s pre-Dr. McGorg. I felt like I didn’t really get a lot of the pain and conflictions she had when she was hesitant to start a thing with Broadie. I got more of the things that she wished were different in her marriage when she was comparing the two. I would’ve liked more of the good times and happy times she had with her husband, in the beginning she loved him so fiercely she was having flashbacks of the pain of losing him, but I didn’t feel like she was really happy in her marriage before losing him.

Regardless of that, it didn’t sway me from loving the story and giving it the five stars it deserves. I’m so excited to read more of this series and all of LM Fox’s other books.

I received an advanced readers copy via BookFunnel/the author. These thoughts and opinions are my own and left voluntarily after reading for my own personal enjoyment.

I have been a fan and a dedicated reader of Ms. Fox since day one and all her books have me falling in love with the MMC and loving the FMC as well as her storylines. She delivers books that are addictive, easy to get lost in and are unable to put down and Dr. Weston is just one of these books. Being the first in the The Billionaire series and a standalone, if this book is any indication of how this series is going to go I will be loving every one of them.
Broadie, Dr. Weston is a divorced billionaire doctor with two teen daughters but he feels that he has not been the father that they deserve. Being a workaholic and dedicated to his profession, he has little time for life outside of work but does enjoy the time he spends at "the club" with his friends. When he notices a beautiful woman at work he is determined to find her and convince her to give him a chance. This beauty is Poppy, a pharmacist at the hospital who is also a widow. The death of her husband was heartbreaking but what she learns after is what shatters her world. Can she ever trust a man again? When Dr. Weston seems to be there all the time and trying very hard to get her to let him in, she is not sure what to do. Does having Kat vouching for him help with her decision? When she does give in the road to happiness is not one that is smooth but bumpy and has a few curves that are hard to navigate. Can they both help one another grow and become the people that they want to be? Will his swoon-worthy ways and dirty talk get Poppy all hot and bothered for the sexy Dr.?
This book had my full attention right from the start. Between his obsession and the banter that went back and forth had me so engrossed that before I knew it I was seeing THE END. I definitely recommend picking up Dr. Weston and get ready for a wonderful HEA romance.

ARC Review of Dr. Weston by L.M. Fox
* * * * *
A steamy romance between a wealthy well-liked and dirty doctor and a beautiful pharmacist, both with complicated love lives, and their own starting with a lie!

Dr. Broadie Weston was a man devoted to his career.
Divorced with two grown up girls, he is focused on his work and does not have the time to waste his time dating and going through the pool of nurses.
Until he sees Poppy.
She is beautiful and sexy and not interested in him at all.
He needs to find a way to make that happen. One little idea sparks the possibility of Poppy returning his affection...but at what cost.
Poppy has still been morning the loss of her husband for years. She would have loved a happy ending with him, however, things change. Now Broadie is getting close to her, and she is starting to open up to him.
But what happens when lies are unravelled and the truth of many hidden secrets starts to effect her life and trust?

Well delivered on the drama!
Broadie has become almost obsessed with Poppy and is afraid with his rough needs to scare her away, and on top of it, she is already dealing with so much. The shock of a secret that has been hidden for years coming out the exact time you are already dealing with Broadie and his moods and changing issues was definetely going to make things more complicated. Poppy is one hell of a strong character. Looking after her ailing husband on top of looking after her mother, doing it all on her own and with her work! Respect!
Broadie appears to be a good father to his daughters Lauren and Lilly and tries not to spoil them. The key word is 'tries'. Had a giggle with Lauren and her ignorance towards money.
Lots of misunderstandings, pushy family and friends, and dirty scenes!

"Dr. Weston" by L. M. Fox is a captivating modern romance that combines charm, drama, and a touch of fantasy. Dr. Brodie Weston, a wealthy surgeon, becomes infatuated with Poppy, a pharmacist with a painful past. Brodie's unique approach to winning her heart, thanks to his billionaire status, sets the stage for an intriguing love story.

Poppy is a strong and determined woman focused on her career, trying to move past the loss of her husband eight years ago. When she crosses paths with Dr. Weston, their connection becomes the centerpiece of the story.

This novel shines in its character development, allowing readers to connect deeply with Brodie and Poppy. Their journeys of self-discovery and healing are marked by genuine emotional struggles and growth. What sets this story apart is its commitment to realism, as both characters confront their past mistakes.

The slow-burning romance between Brodie and Poppy is beautifully portrayed, and their mature handling of their issues adds depth to their connection. While there are moments of miscommunication and tension, it's refreshing to see characters work through their problems. The intimate moments in the book are sensually depicted without overwhelming the plot, contributing to the characters' development.

Additionally, "Dr. Weston" is part of a larger interconnected universe by L. M. Fox, but you can enjoy it as a standalone. Readers familiar with the author's other works will appreciate the familiar characters seamlessly integrated into this story.

In summary, "Dr. Weston" offers a delightful blend of sweetness and spice in a contemporary romance. It's a promising start to a new series, suitable for both longtime romance fans and newcomers to the genre.

“I want to make you feel good.” “No worries there.” She giggles. Tracing a heart onto her chest, I say, “No. I mean here.”

🥰It’s little quotes like the one above that make my heart happy. 🥰

🩺L M Fox brings another medical romance to the hands of readers everywhere with Dr. Weston and I’m completely blown away. It was an absolute remarkable read.

🩺Dr. Broadie Weston and Poppy Danforth make for the most interesting couple and I loved how their relationship unfolds between the pages of this book. It’s not an easy love story but it’s their love story. Going to the lengths he went through to get himself on her radar was outrageous by all accounts but as time progresses it’s undoubtedly for certain that they are made for each other. Heart swooning from beginning to end this book is the epitome of what it’s like to start over from a divorce or even death, and fall hard for the one who probably should have had your heart to begin with. If you haven’t read this authors books I highly Recommended starting with this first book of these series. If you think these billionaires are going to steal our hearts at least they’ll be stealing mine.

Layla, this book is gold girl, complete and utter gold. Your work is amazing and you truly are one of a kind and amazingly talented. I for one love you to death 🥰. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to get my hands on an advanced copy of Dr. Weston in exchange for an honest review. You slay me 🫶🏻

(Psst I need more of what happens with baby Sara please 🤭)

Outstanding start to a new series. I am new to Ms. Fox but I instantly fell in love with her writing style. The storyline is so relatable to many who have loved and lost via death or divorce and the characters, by the book's end you’ll feel like you’ve been friends forever, even with the secondary ones. The series revolves around a Billionaires Boys Club. These are a group of mega rich men that try to get together once a month just to blow off steam and relax. The first book is about Broadie Weston, a workaholic surgeon. He’s one of the good ones, both in and out of the operating room. He cares about his patients and his medical practice to the point he’s lost touch with everything that is truly important to him. When he spies a woman in a lab coat in the hospital cafeteria (Poppy), something inside him wants to get to know her. But she doesn’t seem to want to give him the time of day. As for Poppy, she’s a widow, who lost her husband 8 years ago to ALS. She has tried to move on but she just can’t and she sure doesn’t want to start a workplace romance, not even with the handsome Dr. Weston.
The storyline involves romance, deceit, desperation, 2nd and maybe even 3rd or 4th chances. Can Broadie change his workaholic ways and give life around him a chance? Can Poppy find a way to let go of the past and live again, especially when the past keeps coming back to test her? Fantastic read and this reader can’t wait for Billionaire #2 to hit the shelves.

2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars - I highly recommend it.

Broadie and Poppy are co-workers at the local hospital. While Broadie is a renown surgeon and has an exceptional career. He is unsuccessful in his personal life. Poppy works as a pharmacist and is also successful in her career, but still in the trenches of grief following the death of her husband 8 years prior. When Broadie finally notices Poppy, he tries to get her to take a chance with him. After Poppy's continued denials, he pulls out all the stops to win her over. Poppy is shocked by a betrayal she didn't see coming. While Broadie is trying to figure out how to balance his life better.

I liked Poppy and her realism. She was struggling with so much and was trying to get through life, but she finally starts to grow and work on finding herself again. I loved that she was strong female character. Broadie was a cinnamon roll all the way, but he definitely enjoyed his tension releasing behaviors. There was a lot of spicy scenes. However, Agnes stole the show every time she was in it. Her sassy comments made me laugh several times.

I did struggle a little with this book because while it is the first book in the series, apparently there are characters from other books that are part of this book. I personally found it difficult to try and keep up with who was who of Broadie's main guy pack. There was also a lot of characters in the book due to the hospital staff. This honestly could have just been me because I tend to struggle when there is a lot of characters.

ARC provided for my honest review.

“I’d given up on happily ever after”
Well I knew with that, I had to find out why and who could change her mind!
I absolutely adore Poppy! I thought she would be a bit moody and sour on love, and maybe she has reason to be. But she wasn’t. She was open and happy, and so excited when others found love for themselves, she just thought her chance was over. I like that this character was strong minded despite having been through a lot. She was accepting, despite less than ideal circumstances. She saw her weakness, and did her best to make herself stranger. So much happens in this book, there seem to be several side stories all at the same time. Often that is confusing or overwhelming. Somehow though, they were meshed together seamlessly and in a believable manner. While a few could probably have been a much larger part of the book, I think the exact right notes were hit. (Sorry, I’m not one for spoilers, so grab the book to find out about the mystery visitor, the rumour spreader, and antics at the nursing home) 💫 I did not like the idea that Broadie and his pals thought they could buy their way in and out of everything. They too were given strong characters, yet relied on the money too much in the romance department. (Oh don’t get me wrong - I’d love to live like them, but…). I just felt that there could have been more depth, and less flash, to attain the same ends. Bring on more romantic gestures, because Dr. Weston does do them well!

Poppy

I was that girl.
I had it all.
Confident and happy, I graduated college and began working my dream job.
I married my devoted, handsome boyfriend. We bought a house and traveled the world.
Focused on our careers, we’d think about kids later…

‘til the unthinkable happened.

Now I’m all alone and slowly discovering my fairy tale life was a nightmare shrouded in secrecy and lies.
How do you move on after such betrayal?
Can I trust in a second chance at a real happily ever after?

Broadie

I was that guy.
I had it all and threw it all away.
A renowned surgeon, my career was my sole focus.
Yet I had a wife and beautiful children and let them slip away.
I’ve learned the hard way. I’m more devoted to my family than ever.

If only they didn’t live with a new man now.

My ex-wife and I are better as friends,
and my kids are old enough to forgive me.
If I could only forgive myself.
I’m just hoping I can prove to Poppy
that despite my past, I’m worth taking a chance.

This is a standalone contemporary romance

OMG I’m absolutely floored by Broadie and Poppy story, this book was so well written. And I love how easy it was to connect with the characters. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. I’m highly addicted to this series and I can’t wait for the next book.

Poppy has barely been living after her husband died, so all she does is work & see her mom. Dr. Brodie Weston has made his career everything to the point that he lost his wife, and spends very little time with his daughters, but he's realizing that his life is pretty empty lately as all he does is work. From the moment he really sees Poppy at the hospital they both work at, he's been super drawn to her, but she's not ready to entertain it until he does something that has them getting to know each other. However, he didn't do it the right way so it could blow up in his face if she found out, and yet, he was adorable anyway with what he would do for this woman. They have a ton of chemistry, so when it ignited, it was super sexy between them but still he was not doing well with the work hours & making time for her. On top of that, she gets thrown for a loop when some secrets come to light having to do with her husband, and then his secret comes out which pretty much levels her & made me so sad for her. It tears them both up, but maybe just maybe the amazing supporting cast will help them fix things since they're absolutely perfect for each other. I absolutely loved this story so much, and I'm super excited to read about the rest of his group of friends in the future so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

When I tell you that if this book doesn’t have you wishing book boyfriends were real I don’t know what will!

Words cannot express how much I loved this book. LM has a way of just pulling you in and you just can’t help but fall in love with these characters.

Broadie is the absolute definition of an alpha male obsessive stalker and you can’t help but love him for it. There’s moments of like, “There’s no way he’s going to top this” and ‘boom’ he does. Poppy is such a delightful person. Her determination and respect for herself is such an admirable thing. She goes through so much and while she has moments of self doubt I love how much growth she has and confidence she gains.

Broadie and Poppy’s relationship has its struggles but I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. There were so many up and downs but it truly made them a better couple for it.

I also wanted to mention I love how LM includes moments of

-It’s ok to need help.
-It’s ok that you feel broken sometimes.
-It’s ok to grieve.

There’s also so much representation such as

-Fostering
-Disability
-Adoption

And don’t worry there’s spice. Lots of spice. Trust me when I say Dr. Broadie Weston will not leave you disappointed. He knows exactly what he’s doing. 😏

Thank you so much LM for sending me an ARC. I can’t wait to see what’s next in The Billionaire Boys Club.
