Flesh-eating monsters hiding in your child’s room, soul-stealing witches, ghost children, demons, psychopaths, and the occasional possessed treat, these are just some of the otherworldly fiends roaming the humble streets of Greensburg, Iowa, this Halloween.
In 2007, I started writing annual Halloween short stories for friends and family as a way to keep in touch while serving in the Army. These stories were never intended to be published, just a bit of Halloween fun for those I care about. Now, my new friends, I welcome you into the depths of my twisted world.
This was a fun a creepy book, perfect for spooky season. You get the vibe right away by first looking at that really cool cover. It’s probably geared more for teens but I liked it too.
This anthology are different stories that all are occurring on Halloween in Greensburg, Iowa. Who knew one little midwestern town had so many events that make you wince?
The stories varied between fun and others scary. My favorites were The Perfect Costume and The Children of the Candy Corn. But, actually all were very good.
I want to thank the author for gifting me this book. My review is voluntary.
A wonderful collection of cozy Halloween tales — perfect for the upcoming fall months. These stories are full of all sorts of creatures and twists and turns. Each story progressively gets a bit darker as you read, leading up to the epic conclusion.
“No Such Thing” and “Stingy Jack” were my personal favorites
I would recommend this collection to anyone looking for a collection of epic Halloween tales
This is the movie Trick ,r Treat in Book form. You’ll whiz through it the first time, them want to take a second trip to make all the connections you ran past in fear the first time. A perfect scary season read.
Being that I only read Halloween-centered books in September and October, I run into a common issue of many stories falling flat. This is often because a lot of people forget the true spirit of Halloween.
Yes, we remember the dead, conjure spirits through various means, and sit through hours and pages of gore. But Halloween is also supposed to be FUN!
Christy totally hit this one of the park and I cannot wait to see what else he comes up with! So glad I read this book.
This was a good, quick read! I am newer to the horror genre but have been wanting to read more of this genre especially this time of year, and this definitely makes me want to read more. I really enjoyed this. This consisted of multiple interconnected short stories. The stories were scary but not too scary for a horror newbie. I highly recommend checking this out! I read this in just a day.
Great anthology of cozy Halloween horror stories! All of the stories have fun characters (witches, monsters, ghosts, and demons, to name a few) as well as twisty endings that make them so fun to read.
This book is an anthology of stories by the author that all take place in the same town on a single Halloween night. There's a LOT of confusion and timeline events between the stories not lining up. It's definitely a cute read for kids under ten, with just the right amount of fight to give them chills. BUT, there's a severe issue with the editing... There doesn't seem to be any of that done to this book. From wrong punctuation, to no punctuation, to at least three missing words in sentences in every single story, and the above mentioned timeline confusion, this is an editor's nightmare. If an editor was attached to this book, they need to get a different job. Due to the sheer amount of errors in this, I give this book 2 of 5 Paws.
