⭐️4/5 | 🌶️4/5 | Holiday Novella | Close Proximity | Insta-Lust | Vacation with Benefits |
Spicy | Dual POV

Oh my gaaahhh! LOVED THIS! I need more Noah & Bri 😱 This was such a fun, swoony, and steamy novella. Need a palate cleanser? This would be a perfect choice. 🥰 A great introduction for the upcoming Clover Creek Farm Series.

Noah Dawson!!! OMG 🥵 Maybe I do like me some southern charm after all, because the mouth on this man 🤣🤭 Mikayla, please tell me your next book is about Noah and Bri because I absolutely loved their chemistry. It was undeniable and lava hot🔥. This was more of an instant attraction than insta-love so it was perfect. Two strangers on a vacation for different reasons that get together after a sizzling interaction and hitting it off. Initially meant to be a one night stand, they decide to make the most out of their vacay and spend it together.

This is a holiday novella but we only get a touch of it, which is fine because this wasn’t meant to be set in a Christmas-y atmosphere. But the one little moment we get, was so swoony and memorable, I absolutely fell in love with Noah. 💚

Thank God for the epilogue because that ending nearly crushed me! The torture of wanting to know when they would cross paths again because if you didn’t catch it, they have more in common after all. Call it Fate! 🥰

There is a cameo from Dominik and Lilly and I have CCMH on my kindle TBR. Im so excited to see what Mikayla comes up with next, she knows how to perfectly balance emotional depth, plot, and spice in her writing! 💚

4⭐️ for both the novella and the first book in the series book

I really enjoyed this little novella to get me out of my reading slump. I was hooked and couldn't wait to get into the first book of the series that followed this novella! I loved Sabrina and Noahs story so much!

Full review can be found on Wont Let You Get Away. I merged both reviews as it was more practical that way.

I'm telling you right now that Mikayla Christy can do no wrong! That girl knows how to write a damn book.

This book follows Sabrina "Bri" and Noah who both end up at the same resort after needing to getaway. For Sabrina, this trip was supposed to be her honeymoon, but after calling off her engagement she decided to take the trip alone. For Noah, his brother politely forced him on this trip since he never would've booked this on his own and needed to put himself first for once.

After meeting the first night at the bar, the two hit it off rather quickly and had a one-night stand. The more time they spend together, they both realized that they could make the most out of their trip by having a "vacation with benefits." However, the chemistry between Bri and Noah is undeniable and the both of them are left wanting more but not wanting to say anything.

The last night of their trip, Noah gets the call he was dreading from his brother and is forced to leave Bri without a goodbye. And after three months of no communication between them, fate decides to intervene....or so we think.

MIKAYLA CHRISTY HAS DONE IT AGAIN. This is her third book and she is just so damn talented. This was definitely her spiciest book yet and I am totally here for it. I absolutely loved this story, these characters and their relationship. The only thing I hated was the cliffhanger at the end because I NEED MORE OF THEM AND TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN! But this book was so good and is the perfect book to get into the holiday spirit and also give you vacation vibes.

So excited for the next book in this series and thank you to Mikayla for the ARC!

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!

I got this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This one is a ticking time bomb, so freaking spicy! The chemistry between Bri & Noah is out of this world. I had to stop and fan myself many times.

Between the W-Holy Trinity (IYKYK), a dirty mouth, & the small stint of voyeurism.. I was a goner!

Keep in mind, this is a Novella - it’s fast paced, but it tells an amazing story between the spice. One of healing & finding themselves as well as pushing your comfortable boundaries.

Please read it.

I started reading it cause I saw a thing on tik tok for the next book in the series. I realized that you absolutely needed to get this one first.
Love the premise but it was an ehh book for me. No conflict until the very last pages. The reasons for both doing things just didn't make sense. When did he go on vacation while his dad was in a coma? He could have gone afterwards. Him leaving like that.
We didn't really see them talking, which makes sense since it was a fling but I still wanted to see them falling for each other. It was an ehh book and I probably won't read the next one. Which is unfortunate since I read this one so I can read the next one.
Also a recent pet peeve of mine is when romance books are referenced in romance books lol.

2.9/5 round up to 3

Definitely a SMUT novella to build up to the novel. I normally am HERE for the smut. Lately I have been slightly burnt out on it for personal reasons so I found myself skipping a majority of the novella. I will loop back around to this once I am past my personal bump in the road. I’m sure it’s more than 3. With the way it ended it really makes you want the book to see what happens. A sort of cliff hanger.

It lacked the tension I enjoy in books. At its core, this is just a bouquet of sex scenes thrown in a shallow context to frame them. A novella I do not recommend.

I'm always happy when there's a novella before a series. Reading a novella gives me an opportunity to determine if I'm going to like the author's style, the way they plot their books, and if the spice is going to be the right kind of spice without the commitment of a full length novel...and sadly for me, the spice has been falling kind of flat lately...In all fairness though, that could be entirely a me problem though.

This novella is a set up for the entire series and revolves around a woman who called off her wedding to her long term boyfriend (she maintains that he loved her deeply...but somehow he didn't notice that she was sacrificing all of her wants and needs and dreams for him? That ain't love, sugar) and then chose to go on the honeymoon she'd planned by herself. While on this "none"ymoon, she meets a farmer who we learn has been sent on this trip by himself by his younger brother at the behest of their dying father (seriously...dad's in a medically induced coma) because dear old dad doesn't think his oldest son can let go of his responsibilities to the family farm and have fun. Hm'kay.

FMC and MMC meet on their first night in paradise and the FMC makes her move by bluntly asking MMC if he's DTF. She's a brave one.

What follows are descriptions of the excursions they go on together (miraculously they planned the same things for the same day...AMAZING) and all the sex they have while doing it. And while all of it was enjoyable and not terribly written, it got a bit repetitive.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to continue the story with the first full length book in the series, or if I just want to call it a day and move on to something else.

I know this sounds like I didn't enjoy the book and let me be clear...I did. But I'm just not sure I enjoyed it enough to keep going...at least for now. Maybe later.

I use the CAWPILE Review method for my reviews (see explanation here), just to keep me honest and help me understand what exactly I liked/didn't like. My ratings are below.

Review of both books

This is a first read of this author for myself and it was just what I needed.

I was in a reading slump and just not enjoying my books as enthusiastically as normal. I stumbled on an excerpt for the 2nd book and saw it wasn’t too big a book so thought I’d go for it.

What a joy! Book 1 we meet the FMC Bri, who has just called off her wedding to her 8 year long relationship but decides she’s going on the honeymoon solo, it’s her dream trip.

While there she’s alone watching other couples, trying to live in the moment when she meets the MMC Noah. Who is also there alone, having basically been forced to ‘enjoy’ himself by his brother and ailing father.

He doesn’t expect to have his breath stolen by the beauty that is Bri, she’s witty, funny and his troubles disappear when she’s around.

They decide why not turn their vacation to a ‘holiday smexcation’ the attraction is undeniable and what’s too loose. Two strangers who go back to their lives, only when the time comes to leave as impossible as it should be, it’s harder to think about saying goodbye.

I didn’t realise book 1 would end on a cliffhanger, I’m so thankful I was able to dive right into the 2nd book because I was not ready for my Noah and Bri story to be over.

They 2nd book we are hit with some surprises, some trinkets from the vacation that come back home to stay and heartbreak thinking neither reached out to the other while fate refuses to let them pass each other by.

I really enjoyed these books, there wasn’t too much angst or drama, it had a sweet romance telling without with lots of spice scattered through.

The first book is basically all spice, but it’s a 4 day holiday and not an overall long book so I didn’t mind too much, I do wish the communication had happened a little sooner in book 2 so we could have had more insight into them as a couple as their lives changed but overall these were really good books.

I’m only holding back a star because I felt like some of the spice could have been swapped for some deeper scenes based on what was going on with their lives and there were a couple of timelines, date/age things that were inconsistent.

These books definitely got me out of a slump and I was a really joyful book

This isn't my first book by Mikayla and it certainly won't be my last!

"The Getaway" is a short, holiday novella that will have you hooked from the start! Sabrina was determined to enjoy a trip just for her that she had been dreaming about and planning so thoughtfully...even if it was originally meant for two people. No one in her circle thought going on her honeymoon after calling off her wedding to her long time boyfriend/fiance was a great idea, but she was adamant that it was the right thing to do for herself. Something she hasn't done in a very long time...

Noah has dedicated his life to his father's farm, even more so now that his father's health is failing. He doesn't want to leave the farm and his ailing father to go on a trip that his brother is INSISTING he goes on (his dad wanted him to take it to give him a break from the stress of the work). Begrudgingly, his brother got him to the airport and Noah got on the plane to a vacation he promised he'd stay for at least a couple of days out of the week to "give it a chance", as a compromise.

The first night at the bar, these two strangers caught each other's attention and the spice and chemistry coming from the two of them...whewwww!! They spent days together, getting to know each other and having all the spicy time in paradise that they could! But then, something happens and their stay gets cut short, unexpectedly...they never even got each other's last names! There is a hint of what is to come in her next book (so you'll have to wait for that) sprinkled in, but you ALSO get a cameo from two special characters on their own vacation (Dom and Lily) from "Cross Check My Heart" so THAT was an awesome surprise!!! I squealed when they popped in!!

Trust me, this is a short book, but it is NOT short on spice, chemistry, emotion, and laughter! I absolutely devoured this book and immediately messaged Mikayla asking for more ASAP!! You will fall in LOVE with Noah - just read it!! I promise you, you will love it and will be left wanting more too!!

Mikayla is a one click author for me and if she's not on your radar yet, check her out!

don’t recommend… if you want a detailed review keep reading. If not just know this book was straight ass. (no shade… just my opinion)

subscribe to my youtube for the full review of this book!! in my bio 😉
so i found this book on tiktok bc i was in a deep, deep rabbit hole of book scenes and quotes. this book is essentially a prequel that is set about 3-4 months before the start of the next book (technically the first book) in the series. the author said you didn’t have to read this one to read the next one and i strongly recommend you do that. don’t not read this book. please. just don’t. i’m usually not a hater but this book was straight ass. the beginning of the book was good. (like the first 2 chapters…) then they meet and then have sex all day everyday. like it felt so weird. idk how to even explain it. like she meets him at a bar. he calls her pretty. she asks him to fuck her. he does it. no protection. and the finishes in her. and that’s not even a topic of discussion either. like usually when they do it for the first time they at least talk about protection. but this man doesn’t give a fuck. and keep in mind this book is 15 chapters. 12 out of 15 chapters they were doing it. like i’m not even joking. they would finish doing it and then would talk about having a good conversation. nothing deep but talking for hours. but we never saw a conversation that they had in the book that didn’t end in a sex scene. like come on now. don’t market this as a romance book if we’re not going to have some type of connection. i couldn’t even tell if they really liked each other because all it seemed like they wanted to do was sleep with each other. and the ending pissed me off. bc i though after three months there would be a cliffhanger for them meeting again in this book and would lead straight into the next one. but nope it just leaves off like a standalone book. I’m still stuck on the fact that there was 15 chapter and they were having sex 12 of them. that still baffles me. anyways one thing that gave it another star was the fact that i made this connection to two characters and how they are going to see each other again which made me want to read the next book again. but this book was highkey horrible and would not recommend reading this.

Mikayla Christy is one of the most amazing writers that I have had the pleasure of reading. I need more of Bri and Noah 100%. This was really well written. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

This book takes you on a journey with Sabrina, Bri, and Noah who both wind up taking a vacation at the same resort during the Christmas holiday in need of a getaway. Bri’s vacation was supposed to be her honeymoon, but after calling off her engagement she decided she needed to go on this vacation and find herself. Noah was lovingly pushed into this vacation by his brother and sick father who both realized he needed a break and some fun.

What’s better than going on a vacation alone and having a little vacation fling, or a sexcation. Bri and Noah met the first night, enjoyed each other's company and decided to end the night together. They both decided to keep seeing each other and keep up their vacation with benefits while also spending time together and doing fun activities throughout the day. Spending more and more time together, enjoying their time together and having fun and letting go, feelings start to form but living in two different states they convinced themselves it was just a fling.

This was an adorable meet cute but with LOTS of spice. Between Noah and his dirty mouth and the sass of Bri it was a quick, cute, emotional read, but even with all the spice it had a great story line. Bri and Noah had an instant connection and they helped each other find each other and have some much needed fun. I absolutely enjoyed the character development and the descriptions of all the scenes. I felt like I was in the book with them. This was the perfect introduction to the Clover Creek Farm series. I recommend this book to anyone who’s looking for a quick, fun, steamy, and not your typical holiday read.

Don’t let this novella fool you, it packs a punch in the best way.

Sabrina “Bri” just left her fiancee but decided to go on the honeymoon they would have taken. Noah finds himself getting suckered into going on a vacation to get away from the farm.

The first night at the resort they meed and they have an instant attraction. From that first night they are inseparable and spend every minute together until Noah gets a call he’s been dreading that forces him to go back to the farm.

That ending!!! Mikayla WHAT WAS THAT ENDING!!!!!!!!! I NEED MORE OF THEM!! That ending better be leading into something more lol💚

“Sugar, from the moment I laid eyes on you, you’re all I’ve been able to focus on.”

🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚

Omg. Yes. Yes. Yes. This is was I live for in novellas. Absolutely obsessed with this book. This was so good and so steamy from start to finish I can’t wait to read the second book.

For 2 strangers, Bri and Noah’s chemistry, holy fuck wow. Intense. Off the charts hot. What was initially meant to be a one night stand becomes a sex-cation after they agree to spend the rest of their vacation together.

Not wanting to say why they are on vacation alone, they agree to not get too personal and just have fun. The way Noah fell first was so freakn good. Making her a Xmas tree out of shells and branches was the cutest thing ever!! His constant obsession and praising her, the way he was just so happy to be around her and was already struggling on how he would be without her. Bri being so comfortable around him and able to be her true self, was gold. Especially after we find out how much of herself she closed off because of Paul. Finding out Bri was falling just as hard at the end made me so happppy. This book had me in a daze, I absolutely loved it.

The ending had me heartbroken, I was slightly mad with Noah for not waking her to say goodbye but all is forgiven. Thank goodness for the epilogue. And thank goodness I already have the second book or else I’d be annoyed.

I am a strong, independent, bad-ass woman, who will figure shit out. With a mojito in hand of course.

I liked this novella to an extent. The writing was at times a bit amateur and not fully developed, and sometimes I found myself skimming over a lot of the words because the scenes could just feel draggy.

I like Sabrina and Noah and I seriously cannot wait to read their book, because their dynamic is actually cute. Although, I feel like it wasn’t completely explored in this book. There were a lot of elements that I would’ve liked to see, for example, appreciation for the vacation, some more descriptions of the place (because truth be told, I thought they were on a cruise ship and not on a resort/ island. Should really start properly reading the blurb before getting into the book).

I also felt like there little to no self-discovery with both of them. You would expect that two characters that have had a very self-depreciating lifestyle would do things (apart from the snu) that would help them find themselves and develop some independence.

Overall, for a new author, I liked it and enjoyed this book and honestly can’t wait to read the development in their relationship in the next book.

I give this a 4 star rating I enjoyed this novella so much but I am a little bit upset because I thought this was a full length novella where I got the whole story but jo it's leading up to another book that's not out yet and so I have to wait for it but I'm also kinda happy to get more of them obviously bit jeez wish it didn't end like that they havent even seen each other again I need the book out now🤣 It's sort of my fault guess I didn't realize it was a novella that goes before a book (that's not out yet!) But anyways this was a fun quick read and I enjoyed the characters and do kinda wish there was a little bit more time but I understand this part is just the vacation they met on and they will have more time later almost took off some of my Rating but I think it's jsut cause I'm upset that I don't get to see what happens yet but I'm not gonna do that since it's probably my fault and I'll figure it out soon so far really enjoying this author and have now read everything she has published which to be fair is only 2 books and this novella so not hard to finish can't wait to see what else she writes

Looovedd!!

There is something about a book boyfriend named Noah 😂😮‍💨

Noah is a southern country boy who is overworked and under stress from the family’s farm and poorly father and Sabrina is having her independent women moment after breaking of her engagement they book visit the same resort for a solo getaway. When they both meet at the bar, hit it off and decide to have a one off crazy night. While they both are there for separate reasons but they can’t get over how obsessed with each other they both are and decide to extend their sleepover for their entire getaway..

I found this read from recommendations here on Good reads and had read reviews saying the cliff hanger is what hooked them to continue the read but truthfully for me it was the first chapter in the next read “Won’t let you get away” that has hooked me and I can’t wait to see how this pans out for them both.

Quick read just under 200 pages but filled with good spice and story.

Mikayla has wrote a man who knows all the right things to say 😝😅 and I feel like things are now going to hit the fan and the holiday romance is officially over and it’s going to get interesting…

When I thought you couldn’t to Dominik and Jackson, in comes Noah!! This book was a different read from her other works but it was a great read!

Bri is coming off a called off wedding she finds herself taking her honeymoon alone to the all inclusive Caribbean resort! She needs the vacation after everything that happened! Noah doesn’t need a vacation. His life is his family’s farm and with everything happening with his dad he doesn’t want to leave. But with his brother telling him to go and it what his dad wants, he goes! So what happens when you’re the only two singles amongst a sea of couples?! You sit next to each other at the bar one night and the rest is history…until the vacation is over!

This was an adorable meet cute story of two people who needed the time away more than they even realized! Noah was a southern gentleman until you get him in the sheets and then the mouth on that man was anything but gentlemanly 😂 I can’t wait to read their second book because that ending has me needing to know their whole story!!

Holy hotness🥵

Sabrina and Noah are insanely hot!

She was getting ready to get married but realized she didn’t love him the same way he loved her so called it off and went on the honeymoon that was all planned out.

Noah works constantly on the farm and never takes time for himself or has fun according to his dad and brother so his dad paid for a trip so he could enjoy himself..

He feels guilty for wanting to leave considering the situation but he goes.

These two meet for the first time and sparks start flying everywhere! He can’t stop looking at her.

I love how they are together.
I love how he encourages her to jump.
I love his mouth😮‍💨
I love how hard he falls for her.
I love the way he just catches himself looking at her and he notices everything!
I love the make shift Christmas tree part..

"𝘌𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘦, 𝘉𝘳𝘪. 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵,"

I was NOT happy with how this ended🥺 but thankfully it looks like we get another book of them next year!

This was a very steamy and short novella that I read in one sitting!

The story follows Noah and Bri, who don’t know each other, but happen to be at the Caribbean on a holiday vacation at the same time.

They meet over drinks at a bar, and they hit it off immediately. There was an insta attraction that was undeniable and their chemistry was off the charts. So, they agree to a “vacation with benefits” and enjoy it under the sheets.

Be aware, the novella it’s mainly focus on the delicious spicy moments and how the main characters can’t keep their hands off each other. The ending is sort of cliff hanger and you would definitely want to know what is going to happen next.

The Getaway is an introduction to the Clover Creek Farm Series, so it’s guarantee that we will see more of Noah and Bri’s story in the book “Won't Let You Get Away”.

With that said, if you’re looking for fast-paced smutty story, this one is for you! I really enjoy it and I definitely want to go on vacation hahaha.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Mikayla Christy for letting me be apart of your arc team it was my pleasure reading this book.

This was a lovely book to read. It’s Christmasy and about a vacation and finding someone while you’re on vacation. I can’t get over the ending of the book it’s a bit of a cliffhanger so I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book so I can see what happens. Sabrina and Noah were lovely together and really compliment each other I loved reading about their individual povs as well as seeing how they were thinking about each other at the same time. Noah is a man who works on a farm and Sabrina is a New York City girl that end up vacationing on the same resort and you get to see how they enjoy their vacation. I loved this book it was a 4 ⭐️ read for me and 3.5🌶️ spice for me. If this sounds like it’s for you don’t forget to grab it now on Amazon or KU.

If you’re looking for a super fun and quick read to get rid of the winter blues, you need to read this! The perfect holiday vacation novella.
Sabrina embarks on her honeymoon… alone after calling off her wedding. She needs this trip to find herself again. Noah’s family is forcing him to go on vacation because he can’t step away from work and desperately needs the time away.
I loved Bri and Noah’s connection right from the start; super flirty and light hearted. Every time I go on vacation, their story is what I wish would happen to me.
One of my favourite things in books is a character finding themselves after an unhealthy relationship, and that was exactly what happened with Bri. Watching her open up to a complete stranger was so sweet, and Noah was so willing to sit and listen to everything she needed to talk about.
This one is definitely steamy, and Noah is a possessive man who doesn’t want anyone to touch Bri which we all love.
This was a great start to the Clover Creek Farms series and I can’t wait to meet the rest of the characters in future books!
