A planet made entirely of anti-matter bears down on Earth. A Swarm ship from the distant future with deadly stolen technology is on the loose. And a robotic fleet has been taken by the angry Valarisi, who now hunt their old friend Granger, who they believe will give them the secret to destroying the Swarm.
But as Granger regains his lost memories, he learns that the Swarm’s intentions might be far more sinister than anything they had ever imagined. With his friend and ally Admiral Shelby Proctor deep in a coma and Earth under the control of a sinister Quiassi, a final showdown with the Swarm looms, and Granger must assemble what allies and resources he has left to implement his plan, billions of years in the making, for ending the Swarm threat once and for all.
Nick became a scientist so that he could build starships. Unfortunately, his ship is taking longer to build than he'd hoped, so fictional starships will have to do for now. When he's not adding to his starship collection, you can find him tweeting and facebooking about Nasa, science, space, SciFi, and quoting Star Trek II.
He lives in Alabama with his wife, 2 kids, and 3 motorcycles.
Note: This author also writes books under the name of Endi Webb
My lowest rating for Legacy Fleet. For the Trilogy my ratings were 4's or 5's. For this series it started out at 4 and went slowly downhill. For me, too many characters to keep mental track and too many locations or in the case of this book, millennia/super eons. And I've never been a fan of go back in history frequently. I know it's necessary for context but this was over the top. It became a "who's on first" quandary. Liked the concept, story line and main characters but ultimately lost the plot. Keep writing Nick! I'll continue to follow, just keep it a little simpler for me! You have the talent!
Would like to have read about what happened to some of the other characters after the war. There was a lot to unpack with this last installment of the series and I'm not sure I agree with the direction it went, but it is what it is. I feel a bit deflated and let down now that I'm done. Just feels like there was this huge crescendo building...then...a dip...and then nothing. Emptiness. Either way, I enjoyed the series and wish it hadn't ended so (to me) abruptly. Maybe it's just my own expectations that are causing my uneasiness with the ending...
The title I suggested may seem a little anticlimactic. I don't feel that it is.
The journey with Tim Granger has been exciting every step of the way. This last chapter In his story is no more and no less exciting than the rest of the books. Nick Webb is a consummate storyteller. He keeps you turning pages and on the edge of your seat.
I will likely read the Legacy Fleet series in its entirety again in the near future. There is so much detail in the books, There is no way that I picked out everything in the 1st read.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect Legacy Fleet series to be this good. Sci-fi books in Kindle Unlimited are a mixed bag. But every book in the series is well written, with a cast of characters you either love or hate - and sometimes both at the same time! The overall storyline is solid and holds together really well, with more twists than the devil’s backbone. Each of the books is a well-crafted, quality read. Well done, Nick Webb. Well done indeed!
I have read every book in this series more than once. I was elated to get another one. The characters are amazing as always, but my problem with this book is the authors need to ret-con massive portions of the previous books and character development for the purposes of making certain events… explainable? I don’t want to spoil any of it, but if you’ve read the previous entries, they’ll be immediately obvious.
This is the ninth and the last book in the Legacy Fleet Series. The loose threads are tied together, but in ways the reader will be amazed at. The author, Nick Webb, has managed to scratch the possibilities and create new ones to intrigue the reader. Reality, space, and time are all manipulated in new ways. I will say no more other than to recommend the entire series.
Congratulation’s to Nick Webb for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such an interesting and exciting author who not only writes intelligently but also provides top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories.
I really enjoy ed this series. It was quite innovative and fun to read. And the ending is original and not so obvious. Thank you Webb for Tim Granger!!!
Webb should have stop with 8 and wrote five more for it
This was a marginal read compared to the others. Not sure Y is was even written. Just a mash of nothing for the book. Sorry, wish I had stopped after about 4 chapter. I half read most after that
After reading the entire series as it was released this is a satisfying and fitting ending to the series. Fare thee well Tim Granger and Shelby Proctor.!!
This series was terrible if you want to do something else. All I wanted to do was get to a quiet place and continue reading. Couldn't turn the pages fast enough.
The book ended the series in great way. I was impressed with the amount of action that was crammed into this book! Well worth the read as was the entire series.
