Money & Morons: How to Build Wealth and Protect Yourself from the Great Conflux

Rate this book
The Great Conflux is underway.

For the first time in American history, several events are simultaneously unfolding that, when combined, create new levels of risk and contagion not seen before. Human longevity, an aging population and unprecedented levels of debt and deficits will create The Great Conflux and the worst part is that it’s all our fault. We’re the ones who elect politicians who are not mandated to control spending and reduce the national debt. That moronic behavior pushes us further and further into a debt spiral that will be impossible to pull ourselves out of. The outcome is crisis. That crisis could come in the form of inflation, rising interest rates, lower home prices, higher taxes, political instability, currency depreciation, decreased trade, and even national security concerns. And when that crisis arrives, the government and politicians won’t be able to save us. It will be the responsibility of every individual to insulate themselves and their families.

Are you prepared for when crisis hits? Most Americans don’t have enough money saved up to cover a medical emergency, never mind retire. Many assume the reason for this is because they don’t make enough money, and while learning how to be more productive with your time and earn more money is part of the equation, the problem is more complicated. The basics of saving and investing are not taught in school, so most people enter the workforce already behind the eight ball. What makes the problem exponentially worse is the disease of consumerism that has spread throughout our culture like wildfire. Every day, we are bombarded with advertisements convincing us to buy things we don’t need. The grand lifestyle we are being pitched is not attainable by the average citizen without properly saving and investing.

Money and Morons is a wake-up call for those who want to become wealthy and stay wealthy. It doesn't matter your background or age; if you desire to work hard and have the discipline to make money, save, and properly invest, this book can become a valuable tool in protecting yourself and your family. It’s not an easy first step to take, but nothing can be improved if that step isn’t taken. This is how you do it.

Money & Morons is a book where the author explores the different situations that could occur if a great confluence could occur. We are not all prepared as we should be to face a crisis; we have already seen it with the arrival of Covid and in the face of such a changing world, we must be prepared. But do we have the necessary tools? Are we able to face a crisis and not be harmed?
I really liked the author's proposal regarding this topic. I think the author approaches it from a comprehensive perspective, where all aspects are considered. I think there should be more books like this, that inform and prepare the reader.

Just the Financial Wake-Up Call I Needed!!!

"Money and Morons" is the brutal slap in the face your wallet never knew it desperately craved. Let's face it, we're all grappling with financial challenges—whether you're scrimping on ramen noodles as a broke college student, anxiously awaiting each paycheck like it's your financial savior, or hoping Social Security doesn't ghost on you in retirement. Brace yourself for a wealth of lessons because, frankly, we could all use some schooling in this chaotic money game! Daneshrad doesn't hold back, especially when calling out both Democrats and Republicans for their questionable handling of the national debt and its impact on GDP. Get ready for some straight-up tough love: cinch that belt tighter than your budget, stash away those pennies like you're preparing for a financial apocalypse, and gear up for some serious money wisdom.

This book spills the hot tea on transforming your financial chaos into a rags-to-riches saga. Buckle up and prepare for a financial rollercoaster which will hopefully lead to financial freedom!

Sometimes, there seems to be an oversaturation in the literary market of books about how to make and save money. This is another entry into that genre, but this is one of the finer ones you’re ever likely to read.

The author, Paul Daneshrad, describes what he refers to as “The Great Conflux,” a combination of several events that are taking place simultaneously both in the United States and the world at large. The point he makes is that these events are making it exceedingly difficult for the average working American to save up a nest egg and eventually retire.

The author describes, in intricate detail, the challenges facing individuals who are currently working and trying to save for the future in the US. He also lists ways you can get into a better financial situation if you are one of the many who are in this spot.

It’s advice that so many individuals need right now. This book can help point you in the right direction if you’re about to fall victim to the Great Conflux or if it has you in its grasp already.

provides valuable insight and strategy for financial success

This read represents a provocative and potentially polarizing book that aims to address the financial challenges facing many Americans today. The author's assertion that a convergence of factors, such as human longevity, aging population, and escalating debt levels, will lead to a crisis is likely to grab readers' attention.
The book advocates for personal responsibility in financial matters, highlighting the importance of saving, investing, and avoiding excessive consumerism. Also, the author appears to offer a pragmatic approach to wealth accumulation and preservation.
However, the tone of the description may come across as alarmist to some readers, and the characterization of certain behaviors as "moronic" might alienate potential readers who do not share the same perspective. Nevertheless, the book really provides valuable insight and strategy for financial success.

This book is perfect to understand economy

This is an excellent book to to understand the economy in a simple way. This book is an economics class but explaining the reality of a country with a first world economy. Trying to understand concepts such as inflation and the impact of the flow of government money is not easy, but this book does it.

Believe it or not, it is a book that everyone should read because we are all directly and indirectly impacted by the economic crisis. The content of this book is of high quality; the writing, although robust, is easy to understand and the way the author communicates such important ideas is completely impactful.

I recommend you read this very good book, I am sure you will like it.

"Learn How to Utilize Your Time"
Reading the book, the author went to great lengths to research and put together this book that makes us aware of the upcoming crisis, The Great Conflux. I learned what that term meant when I read the book. It's pretty informational and eye-opening, and I need to prepare more. It is a bit dreadful that this would be America's inevitable future. Therefore, we should start preparing for it. I never thought that the longevity of human lives would threaten the economy, but it is, so we should begin to rectify this situation. The book discusses a lot of practical information about wealth building and being financially savvy; it would be good to explore those ideas.

Money and Morons is a work that unravels the mysteries of a potential crisis threatening the world. Written in a raw tone, the author highlights two main factors that threaten to trigger an unprecedented crisis: human longevity, an ageing population and unsustainable debt and deficit levels.
From the outset, I was captivated, as the book points directly to collective responsibility for policy decisions related to excessive public spending. This has really provoked a wake-up call for me. It has invited me to reflect on my role in shaping collective policies and beliefs.
The reading is structured as an indispensable tool for those seeking to protect themselves and their loved ones in the midst of economic uncertainty.

This is a book that really helped me to start thinking differently about my finance management and for me, it was a call to action. It made me start getting ready for an impending financial crisis by adopting sound money management practices. This book is so informative and the author expertly analyzes the complex factors leading to what he called the Great Conflux, including the challenges of an aging population, human longevity, and soaring national debt. What I get about these issues, compounded by societal consumption and a lack of financial education, place us at risk of severe economic hardship. I found in this book valuable advice on how to prevent these risks through disciplined saving, investing, and stop consuming.

Hard to argue with this book

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. So why are we not recognizing the insanity of our current system and where we are headed? Our economy is horrible, the markets are a mess, the average American family is hard pressed to survive. And the author of this book gives us a roadmap of how we might have a better financial outcome. He doesn't tell us that we can beat the system, but he gives us good, common sense advice steps, guides and tools to use to get our own finances in order and to begin making smarter decisions that will help us weather the coming economical storm better. A great book about financial health, investments and so much more.

Interesting. Informative.

Money & Morons - This is a blunt, easy to read, easy to understand guide that does not only give basic financial information but adds to the tapestry other factors that play a part in yesterday and today's world. Good advice like save as soon as possible, educate yourself through reading, and work hard and be patient. Rome was not built in a day. He tells the importance of how to save and the power of compounding. You will not get a precise plan or formula of what to do where but a foundation to start. He stresses what I have always followed, just because you have money, doesn't mean you have to spend it, which is one of the things morons do. Source: GoodReads giveaway. 5*

In "Money & Morons" author Daneshrad delivers a sobering wake-up call to a nation teetering on the edge of financial peril. This book serves as both a warning and a guide.
What I liked the most from the reading is its unflinching assessment of personal responsibility in the face of impending crisis.
Also, the author offers a prescription for financial health and resilience. Drawing on timeless principles of saving, investing, and disciplined living, he lays out a roadmap for anyone willing to take the first step towards financial security.

Helpful book.

''Money & Morons'' is the book that will wake you up to the economic future being built right now in the United States, and this future is not encouraging. Written by Paul Daneshrad, the book explains very well why people are closer to experiencing a major confluence or recession.
You will also find how to prepare for that moment with practical advice and suggestions that you can start putting into practice. Although this book may be a bit catastrophic, I must say that I found many of the things the author explains here to be true and make sense. The advice is interesting and shows us a good path to follow if we want to preserve our money.

A must read.

Author Paul Daneshrad raises a major social and economic problem in the USA that he calls The Great Conflux, which is about increasing longevity, an aging population, and astronomical national debt that together have put the country on the path to crisis.
In his book, Money & Morons, he exposes the problem, explains the causes and offers a solution. It is easy to complain about the situation but many times, we are not able to see our own responsibility. This book is aimed at opening our eyes and helping us to take control of our future and our economy. It can be a hard read but realistic and illuminating. It is a great roadmap to economic freedom and self-empowerment.

At first, I didn't know what to expect because of the title; I started the book a bit hesitant but after flipping a few pages, I really enjoyed the approach by author Paul Denashard about taking money as a combo with ethics. Very interesting pair that the author addresses while talking about being educated and having discipline when investing money.
It is a great read for younger readers to start their road into their own finances but making sure their beliefs do not change while growing their wealth.
Personally, I really enjoyed the part about understanding credit cards, a really good insight that readers usually don't get in high school.

In the midst of turbulent times of financial uncertainty, discovering a book like Money & Morons has been a true blessing. As someone who has struggled with saving and investing, I can fully relate to the feeling of chaos that can arise in personal finances.

This book is exceptional in every way. Through clear and practical strategies, author Paul Daneshrad guides us in the process of creating wealth and protecting our assets amid the turmoil of the Great Confluence and in a world characterized by uncertainty and volatility. Personally, this book has given me a new perspective on my own finances and empowered me with the tools necessary to take control of my financial future.

The importance of being aware

The message of this book is clear, we are a society that is a victim of its own invention. Consumerism, laziness, wanting everything fast and easy has made us beings who live their lives as if we were on autopilot.
At my age, 30 years old, few of us are aware of the importance of controlling spending, of foreseeing how much we must save to have a decent medium-term life and why it is important to invest intelligently.
This book is an eye-opener, not only to think in the right way economically but also politically and socially. Today, there are few who question who we vote for and where we are headed for the future.

I thought this was a good guide for a wake up call of sorts. We are very much in a turmoil with our money and what not. I love how Paul Daneshrad connects everything together. It's such a reminder that politics greatly play a role in our money. We're stuck in a place where our leaders just don't fully care about our money anymore. We have to do something! We can start with ourselves and try to save. Just try. It's a great wake up call of what the future will look might just look like for us.

good advice but some bad takes

I won this book in a giveaway and I need it because I am a money moron. I hope to use the advice and also continue the education. What I don’t agree with is the business bootlicker advice that is extremely anti work-life balance. I luckily work for a company that is extremely pro work-life balance and you will actually look bad if you work outside of your 40 hours. I’ve even been promoted 3 times if 5 years only working my 40/week.

This work is exactly what it says it is. A solid introduction to more recent general US financial history and a projected path for the future, this work also offers simple suggestions on how to financially prepare for it. It's basic but definitely worth a read, especially if you need a gentle push in the right direction.

Most of this book was a bunch of valid statistics and then the authors assumptions based on those numbers. Assumptions that were incredibly biased, one-sided and often times unfounded. One of his arguments was literally "it must be this reason because I can't think of any other reasons it could be!". Which is incredibly closed-minded.
