Six months ago I made a mistake; I didn't pick the girl and it cost me everything. Half way around the world, following the path my father laid out, I decide to take back control of my life. I'm going to go against him for the first time in my life. I'm going to go get Clary back. Now all I have to do is convince her, the girl who hasn't taken my call in six months, that we're meant to be.
Taking place in present day and told by Bryant, Ardent is the sequel to Crossed.
Bryant flies back to win Clary's heart once more and heal his own in the process. But Clary isn't intent to give her heart up again so easily, and she's grown in the time Bryant was away. Can she forgive his decision to succumb to his fears and let love lead her down his familiar path? Or will she continue forward on the path she's forging as she blossoms into the woman she was meant to become?
Crossed and Ardent are companion books and should not be read as standalones.
A sweet, quick and easy read. I finished this in under 2 hours, once I had started reading it I became hooked and didn't want to put it down.
Picking up not long after the first book you get to experience the fallout from the ending of book 1. Bryant having to earn his way back and regain trust, this gives mixed feelings as you quickly see both sides of the argument.
This book is written from Bryants POV which gives a new picture of this story to read. The way in which this book ends leaves you wanting more from all the characters. I can't wait to see what comes next.
If you're looking for a spicy read I highly recommend the whole series, and this book just adds a short but spicy sequel that is just as good as the first book.
I am so happy the story ended on a good note. Bryant and Clarissa’s love story is amazing, the confidence that Clarissa gained while he was away was top tier. I loved this book and the spice was perfect!
Highly recommend

This book is written well. The story frustratied me. The MMC irritated me. It was a good 2nd book in this series. Book one leaves you on a cliffhanger. Unfortunately, this was not the story I was hoping for. Very juicy scenes and lots of tension. I just found the female main character to give in too easily. Although it is a reality for many relationship making the story was relatable.
Book 2 in the Cross series, and it was a spicy, fast read. It picked back up the story of Bryant (his point of view) and Clary and gave me the answers I needed from book 1. I can see where Samara can continue the series with the other roommates as well. I always love a good HEA.
Reading this second chance romance from Bryant’s (MMC) POV was so cute. This may have spoilers but keep reading if you want to know more:
Bryant knows what he wants and will do everything to get his girl back. I was scared that Clary would keep rejecting him after how the first book ended, but we love happy endings. If you want a quick read with spice and romance I would recommend this book. You have to read the first book as this is the second in the series and it was so good. If you haven’t read it, you’re missing out.
This is book two in the Crossed series and continues the story of Clary and Bryant. It is six months after Bryant left and broke Clary’s heart and he is full of regrets for choosing his father’s wishes over the girl he loves. He flys back to try and win her back but knows it won’t be easy. She refused to have anything to do with him and isn’t so thrilled with him showing up wanting her back now. I loved how this book was told from his point of view and that Clary wasn’t so easily won over. She has grown and changed while they were apart and she isn’t willing to forgive quickly and he really has to work to earn her trust and heart back as well as standing up for what’s best for himself also. It was beautifully written and I was invested in both characters and wanted them to get a happily ever after. I was happy with how things went in the story and was left wanting more. These are the first books I’ve read by this author, but I will be looking to read more!
This is the second book to crossed. It gave me all the feelings I needed and answered a lot of the questions I had from book one. I loved how Samara put the second book in Bryant's point of view. It was amazing to read each side of how they saw things to help you understand. I loved how they evolved in this book after the first was left on such a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for more books to come. Thank you so much Samara Reed for giving me the chance to read this for an honest review of such an amazing piece of art.
This is the 2nd book in the Crossed duet. It takes place 6 months after the end of Crossed. Bryant broke Clary's heart to follow his father's path for him, a path that took him halfway around the world.
This book is told from Bryant's POV. I really loved this as it provided another POV, and it provided the reader the ability to learn what he was thinking and why he made the choices he did. I did know from page 1 though that he would be full of pain and regret over the way he treated Clary and the way he left her.
I loved how once he finally resumed control over his life how he went back to find Clary and her found that she wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. She had grown and changed in the six months that he had been gone, and this was a surprise to him.
I loved how he had to fight and grovel to win her back. One of my pet peeves, even in real life, is when one partner forgives and takes back the other partner to easily and quickly. There needs to be some groveling and begging.
The growth and change this book shows in Clary, it was beautifully portrayed. She showed that forgiveness isn't easily won and it has to be worked for and earned. She also made him prove to himself that she's the one he really wants to be with.
I loved how the book was written, and all the arcs that occurred in the book almost seemed natural. I was happy with how the book ended, even if I didn't really want it to end. I do look forward to reading more by this author in the future as I do enjoy this writing.
This is the following of the first book Crossed. Clary and Bryant left off at the end both sad and disheartened. This book was great at representing the fight between Clary and Bryant that was happy, then heart breaking, and then ended with a happy ending. I love how they came back together and fought for each other to make things work because the love they have. I also, loved the other characters and how much they are compatible living with each other in their new apartment in the city. I loved the story line and the events that happened between the two main characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and thought it was better than the first. Highly recommend if you're looking for a short, sweet story about young love.
This is the second book in the Crossed Series. This continues the love story of Bryant and Clary.
This book is different than the first as Crossed was in Clary’ perspective while Ardent is in Bryant’s perspective. I actually really enjoyed that as it helped you see why he made the decision he did in Crossed.
It leaves you feeling very happy and content with the blossoming love story of Clary and Bryant.
This is book two of the Crossed series. Book one, Crossed, does need to be read first as this one starts where the first ends. This review does contain spoilers for book one.
We pick up with Bryant realizing what a mistake he made with Clary and he know that he has to get her back.
I loved this book from Bryant’s POV and can’t wait to read the third book!
Ardent is book two in the Crossed series. It picks up where book one left us wanting more. Bryant messed up and he finally realizes it. Will he fix things with Clarrissa? You will have to read the book to find out because I don’t do spoilers! I loved that this book is from Bryant’s perspective. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
As always be mindful of trigger warnings, what I like you may not.
Ardent picks up Clary and Bryant's story where it left off in Crossed. It's another fast-paced, quick story that is easily a one sitting read. This one has all the feels that was experienced in Crossed and continues this couples journey of self discovery and trying to maintain a relationship at a distance. My heart ached for these characters and absolutely cheering them on to their hea.
This book is a continuation of Bryant and Clary's story from Crossed. It's a realistic love that you can easily slot yourself into in your mind. Makes the spicy scenes feel that much more real. Shorter read which is perfect to cuddling up next to a fire place and waiting our winter ice! #cozyromance #romance #kindleunlimited
Oh Bryant, did you redeem yourself, sweet, sweet man! We love a MMC who knows when he made an absolute bone head move and admits it. Once again, the second part of Bryant and Clary's story had me eating it up. I simply love them! I love their magnetic, pure, raw love for each other! Their chemistry is off the charts! We got to see that in Bryant's POV in this book. This book was definitely more spicier too! 🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌶🌶🌶🌶
