Fixin' Vixen

Rate this book
A lumberjack yeti, Jack Frost, and the North Pole’s sexiest elf (three years running) walk into a cabin…

I was sent to the Holidays Inn (not that one) to “chillax” by none other than Santa. I wouldn’t have needed the forced vacation if my ex Rudy, had kept his nose out of his ex’s Clare’s p—ockets. Her pockets.

Because he’s a dirtbag, I’m here biding my time until I “get my Christmas spirit back.” Santa, however, isn’t content to let me sip holiday drinks by the fire. Nope. He designed some ridiculous games for the guests at the inn. Now I’m stuck on a team with a yeti, Jack Frost and the North Pole’s sexiest elf.

We have to do a challenge per day for the next twelve days. If I don’t participate and become all Christmasy again, I’ll be kicked off Santa’s fleet for good. What would a reindeer shifter do then? Open an online store and sell knitted tissue box cozies? (Ahem, that’s what Clare does.)

I have no choice, so I’ll play Santa’s reindeer games. But I don’t know how I’ll win. My teammates are distracting. All of them—yep, I said all—are trying to get me under the mistletoe, if you know what I mean. Each of them has something special I’d like to explore, but having a man in my life is what got me here in the first place. Now there’s three?
Ho, ho, and ho.

I know one thing for I definitely want to take back that Best Boss Ever mug I got Santa for Christmas.

This is a steamy romance for mature readers where the main female character, er, reindeer will end up with more than one love interest. If that’s sounds naughty and/or nice to you, grab you a cup of hot chocolate, cozy up to the fire and enjoy this spicy spin on Christmas. It might remind you of a beloved classic, but rest assured, this is not that tale.

Cat Collins is the #1 bestselling author in her home. No really, her husband wrote a training manual for work once. Sold one copy to his boss. She writes what she likes to read: swoony alphas, witty dialogue, and steamy scenes that make your heart (and various other parts) flutter.

Her Diminishing Magic series has garnered praise from reviewers and a 5-start Readers’ Favorite review for its hilarious banter, sexual tension between characters, and turns you never see coming. Described as a "twisty bundle of fun,” and a “rollercoaster ride you won’t want to get off,” the series includes elemental magic, wolf shifters, and a main character who's full of sass.

A reading interventionist by day, and a reader and binge-watcher by night, Cat lives in the Southern US with her aforementioned husband, two kids, and two cats, one of whom likes to edit as Cat is writing by jumping on the keyboard unexpectedly. Any stray typos must certainly be the work of Poe.

She loves connecting with readers on social media. Check her out @CatCollinsBooks on most platforms.

Every day, when he comes home from work, my partner asks me about the book I've been reading that day. I think I may have broken him a little bit talking about Fixin' Vixen. It's such a fun read that I couldn't help being animated when telling him all about it, especially when telling him about scenes that involved tongues sticking to certain appendages like a frozen popsicle and how they had to remedy it. The whole plot sounds like a punchline to a joke: 'a Yeti, Jack Frost, and a Christmas Elf walk in to a Holiday Inn' but as much as it was funny and light, it was so much more.

The book begins when Vixen, one of Santa's reindeer shifters, catches her boyfriend, a super-famous reindeer named Rudy for the sake of the book (amongst a lot of other names he is called throughout the book), cheating on her with his ex. She's heartbroken, and so Santa sends her away to the Holiday Inn to rest, relax, and get some of her Christmas spirit back. There she meets Jack Frost, Yeager the Yeti, and Hart, a very sexy Christmas elf she knows from back home at the North Pole. They are teamed up in a Christmas challenge set by Santa against other guests of the Inn which includes nymphs, werewolves, merpeople, and even vampires.

As a team, they grow closer, and a relationship develops between them all, including some MM action. The spice is nicely spaced out through the storyline, and while it's hot, passionate, and fast between Vixen and the men, the male-to-male relationships are more slow-burning, but I loved it.

The characters were all so well developed and had their own stories that were told, even if they were just sideline characters, and the plot was brilliantly written and so creative and fun, so while the focus of the book may have been fixing Vixen, everybody had their moment, and as for the spice, woo, HOT!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Cat Collins for giving me this opportunity to be apart of her Arc team it’s been a pleasure reading this book it has put me perfectly in the Christmas/festive mood.

This is definitely an over 18 read🔞. Woohoo what a way to get into the Christmas spirit this was my first RH ‘why choose’ book I’ve ever read with all different paranormal people and I wasn’t disappointed. The main female character is Vixen and she’s a reindeer shifter and she had enough sass to be both naughty and nice, she had just been cheated on and was feeling down in the dumps so Santa sent her to a holiday inn where there was more people to meet to try and help her holiday cheer. That’s where she meets Yeager, Hart and Jack as well as all the other people in the inn. This was a book that had enough spice to warm you up in winter, this was definitely a perfect way to start Christmas. Vixen is so lovely and as you meet each of the guys you fall in love with the differences and similarities of them all. They make such a great couple all of them and it’s lovely reading their love story. This was a 5 star read for me and a level 4.5 🌶️spice level.
In my opinion if this sounds up your street you need to get this book it’s coming out November 27th and you need to give it a read 😊.

Team Yeti aka Yeager.

Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I received this book as an Arc book from Cat Collins Herself. I would like, to note here that the headers of the chapters are adorable making, it an added fun to the story. In our story, Vixen, or Vix as she is called, is sent to the pole to adjust her attitude toward the big man himself. Vixen has no idea what is in store for her as she is on the receiving end of a broken heart.

Vixen our FMC, is introduced to a slue of hot hunky men that are hers for the taking. Vixon, Santa's star reindeer is sent to a small retreat to get over the broken heart she sustained from the tyrant Rudy or Rudolph. In walks the Yeti or Yeager as he is known, Jack the King Jack Frost, and Hart, the worker from Santa's shop. When you think of a love triangle, think of Fixin' Vixen.

I love Cats Twist on the classic characters of Christmas and made them believable living breathing people. Cat immerses herself in character description and detail. Through Cat's details as a reader you can completely immerse yourself in her story and what is being told, especially when you add more characters to the mix. I do believe Cat Collins is now my go to, automatic purchase author, for me because I genuinely enjoyed this book.

On to the next.

I received an ARC copy of this book and while I was a bit hesitant to start it since I don't normally enjoy holiday books, especially Christmas ones, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this.

I really enjoyed Vixen and can relate to how she felt alone and betrayed for a while. I've been in similar situations and always felt like it was my fault. I enjoyed the back and forth between her and the guys when they all first met, but I also enjoyed getting to know each of them and their quirks they have.

The story itself was great, the writing was great, and the spice.... oh my, was it hot. There were a few twists and turns I didn't expect, but I do love how they really helped to move the story along. I think this was the fastest I've ever read a Christmas book. I don't know if I can wait a while year for the next one.

The epilogue was brilliant. I still can't decide if Hart, Jack, or Yeager is my favorite. They are all uniquely hot in their own ways. I love that they all found exactly what it ex they needed.

Cat, you did a great job. I will have to check out the other books you have and see if I get as lost in them as I did this one.

As funny as this book was in places and the spice was there, this book was way too long. It could have gone through a couple of good rounds of editing to take out the repetitiveness and the unnecessary over descriptions of things. I did enjoy Vixen and her three men. It was fun and light. And the scenes with all of them together? Whew, give me a fan 🥵🥵🥵 it would have definitely been a 5 star read if the book had been at least 100 pages shorter. By the time I was 120 pages in, I wanted it to be over. The issue with Yeager and his family dragged on. The development between Hart, Jack, Yeager, and Vixen felt like it dragged. Tool forever for them to actually get it together. Then, even with the epilogue, it ended quite abruptly for how long the rest of the book was. Spicy Christmas read, though! Lord, the spice was 🔥🔥🔥🔥

This was WONDERFUL

Okay, so not going to lie, the 60 chapters seemed daunting, but it was so worth it!

Vixen was cheated on by Rudy (Rudolph) and had been sent to The Holiday Inn to get out of her funk and get her Christmas Spirit back. Enter Yeager, Jack, and Hart. Three strangers who build a family with Vixen over 12 days of Christmas games forced on them by Santa.

The spice is great and the relationships are so sweet. But watching Vixen find herself after allowing Rudy made her question everything was beautiful.

Also, I think the brightest star of this story is Holly, that’s a side character who deserves all the love.

3.5 ⭐️ Christmas shifter romance

I really liked how Cat Collins brought together all these Christmas characters with their own background story, maturing as a family and also having steamy encounters.
However, there was too much of Cherish‘s „teen slang“ in scenes you wanted to focus on something else and after about 70%, the development of the book felt kind of rushed given there was so much happening.
Still, check this out if you like unique shifters with lots of sex appeal and charm underneath your Christmas tree 🎄

Loved all the characters and the spice but felt like the book was too long to read with heaps of chapters, I would’ve loved it even more if it was shorter with less chapters but overall it had an unique storyline that I found interesting to read about a reindeer shifter, a yeti, Jack Frost and a super hot elf all staying at the same holiday inn as they joined in on some holiday games Santa set up for the holiday inn to host to get everyone into the holiday spirits + it’s filled with lots of spice!

I will never be able to watch Rudolph or listen to Jingle Bells in the same way again, and that is a great thing. This is an awesome book that gives a new twist to the story of Vixen. She is a shapeshifting reindeer who meets three guys while she is trying to get her Christmas cheer back before Christmas Eve. This book makes you fall in love with each character and makes you hope there will be more books in the future.

This is an amazing story. I love the author’s take on this magical world and how they made it their own. The characters are mind blowingly complex and vivid. The spice is absolutely amazing and definitely something to heat you up on a winter’s night. The plot with its twists and the growth that the characters grow through is beautiful to be. This story definitely hooked into my heart. Highly recommend 10 out of 10.

Okay hear me out!
Santa’s reindeers are shifters.
Santa forces Vixen to take a vacation after her breakup with Rudolph….

And then the shenanigans happen.

It’s cute. A bit silly. But perfect for the holiday season

Another great read from the talented author, Cat Collins!

Not going to lie but this is the first Holiday book that I've read and it was so much fun! This book was full of characters that we all know and love, but the way she brought them to life was perfect!

Vixen (yes, one of Santa's reindeer) is going through some heartbreak all because Rudolph cheated on her. She isn't herself and Santa decides to send her on a little vacation in hopes that she can pull herself together and find her Christmas spirit in time for Christmas Eve. Although she is bitter and does not want to be around people she ends up meeting quite a few people who just might be her saviors. I mean who could say no to not one but three sexy men when all they want to do is help you and take care of you? The other characters in the book play a big part in each other's lives as well.

The dynamic of the characters is so much fun! They have all had hard times in life so the growth that happens to each one is great to read. The witty banter that takes place and the spice...wow!! I love every book that I have read from Cat Collins and this will definitely be a reread every holiday for me!

Forced to take a weekend sabbatical, Vixen checks into the Holidays Inn with the intention of spending the entire time in a drunken stupor. However, Santa has no intentions of letting her stew. In order to help her find her Christmas spirit, Santa not only extends her stay, but creates a series of “reindeer games” for the lodges guests to participate in. Teamed up with Jack Frost, a yeti, and a very sexy elf, Vixen finds herself thoroughly distracted. With the big fly just around the corner, will Vixen finally be able to move on and rekindle her Christmas spirit or will she be replaced on the flight team?

What a clever and spicy rendition of a Christmas classic! Full disclosure, it took me a minute to get into as it felt a tad cheesy, but I’m so glad I kept going, because I loved it! Am I jealous of fictional Vixen? Absolutely, each of those men, with their very different and unique personalities brought the best of all worlds. All three of them had me swooning. I loved all the supporting characters, then were well crafted and added a lovely layer of depth to the plot. & let’s not forget about the spice, ooh was it spicy! I would say at least 50% of the book and each time was unique and “full-filling”

If you like your spice with a side of plot and you’re a sucker for a reverse harem, then I highly recommend giving this book a shot. I’m not a fan of Christmas (my family literally nicknamed me ‘The Grinch’) but this book definitely put the Christmas spirit in me 😉

*I received an Advanced Copy of this book and this is my honest review*
