With her Sutherland expedition complete, secretly saintly Fia Rudd is eager for a vacation! When Cyril and Kurtis gate-crash her getaway, she reluctantly relents that more holidaymakers are merrier. But when a certain pair of brothers with jewel-toned hair invite themselves along too, things really get rolling. A joyful jaunt to Blackpeak Mountains await!
Pacing continues to be an issue with this series. I honestly feel that the editors are not asking the author to rewrite the web novel to work as a light novel with expanded content and book-centric pacing, but instead publish the web novel as is and pad with side-stories. They were at least useful side stories this time, and not entirely redundant. Yeah, it’s disappointing that the story simply ended almost midsentence instead of ending on a cliffhanger or some sort of dramatic high point.
Of course, all of this is moot. The books have already been published years ago in Japan as they are now. So these editorial decisions were made years ago and there’s nothing we can do about it, no matter how much we gripe. I imagine Japanese readers were just as dismayed. Not every light novel makes a fantastic transition from its web novel. Fortunately, I enjoy the book despite its flaws, so I didn’t feel as ripped off as I did with volume two and three.
This was one of the better volumes for me. I liked the development of the plot and characters. A lot of things were revealed and cleared up. It's one of those volumes with not much action, more slice of life, and I respect that. It still freaks me out when all these older men are pining for this teenage girl, though. And it's tiring that we still act like non-heterosexual people don't exist despite moments of bromance written in🙄
After waiting so long for the volume I felt really depressed at how short the aunt's to the primary storyline is. I was confused that I hit 71% completed and the rest of the book was just bonus side stories. Not even a proper cliffhanger, just feels like an unfinished thought.... What you get is still good but that frustration really felt like a star to me.
I love this series but vol 5 was a bit of a disappointment. There was too much repetitive information so I started skimming some pages. Also, the pacing was really slow. Not enough happened in the story. I really hope the next volume has more action! And hopefully there’ll be more of Fia and Saviz :)
I want to like this series but Fia is so dumb it’s hard to not cringe sometimes. She wasn’t any better as Serafina, so at least she’s stayed the same. I feel sorry for Kurtis putting up with her through two lifetimes. In the bonus it seems that her Captain Sirius had a romantic interest in her as well…I wonder if that will come to fruition in this life as well?

I’m disappointed that more than 3/4 of it is short stories, most of which have nothing to do with the actual story arc.
The heroine switches between (mostly) being completely airheaded and being very compassionate and powerful. I can’t say I really like her, but I’m very curious about what happened to her when she died and what happened to her knights and her family after she died. Still, this is kind of annoying how stupid she is. I’m not entirely sure I want to keep reading the series if it’s going to be so many short stories.
