“Restore the Table”was an encouraging reminder of the high value daily connections around a table bring to our relationships. Food brings connection. When we are intentional about sitting around a table without distractions we show respect and care for each other. It’s so easy to lose this important discipline. Pastor Ryan Rush challenges us to eat five weekly meals around the table plus a monthly meal with someone we may not know well. This isn’t hard, yet without putting it on the calendar it won’t likely happen. Developing this habit will no doubt strengthen our relationships and add value to our lives.

I really loved Restore the Table. It beautifully highlights how meaningful mealtimes can shape our relationships, faith, and sense of belonging. The author does such a thoughtful job showing that the table isn't just about food it's about connection, intentionality, and community.

One of my favorite parts was how it broke down Jesus' mealtimes throughout the Gospels. Seeing how often He chose the table as a place for teaching, grace, restoration, and invitation was powerful. It made me look at everyday meals in a completely new way.

Highly recommend if you want a practical and spiritually rich reminder that something as simple as sharing a meal can be deeply transformational.

2.5 stars. Great concept but writing style isn’t engaging. The challenge that the book presents is great and I want to incorporate in my life, but not convinced reading the whole book is necessary.
