OK so first off this I'm a amazing debut novel! I love everything about it from the courts to the magic and even the characters and their banter!

I very much love that the author didn't put chapters upon chapter of slow world building in the beginning but instead put her world building throughout the story which for me made the story move faster and made the book hard to put down!

Now for the big part! Girl this Clift hanger is going to kill me until Crystal Court comes out!!!!

✨Arc Review! ✨

When I started this book, it immediately had my attention and I couldn’t put it down. I love how the main character, Emberly, was super relatable. She had normal everyday worries that most people tend to experience. The author truly painted a perfect picture of the court with her amazing descriptions. Not once while reading the book did I have to assume what a character or place looked like. She has developed these characters that you become so attached to, I felt as if id know them my entire life. My favorite part of the book was watching Emberly’s character grow and become this confident bad ass woman who took no shit from anyone! This is definitely a 5 star read!

✨Arc Review✨

First I want to say that I absolutely love the short chapters idk if it’s because it makes me feel like I’m reading quicker or it it’s just my attention span but I’m here for it!

The characters are easily relatable! And I mean all of them; I can relate to every one of the main characters in my own way!! Which makes this story so easy to connect with!

The writing style is very simple and easy to understand. Minus the few spicy scenes I’d say it’d be good for teens/adults.

This book ends on a big cliffhanger so don’t say you weren’t warned!!

This book was a fast paced easy read. I really enjoyed the characters and the book setting. I also think I liked the secondary couple more than the main couple in the story. If you like instant love with little conflict this is the book for you!

This is such a cute story. It starts with Emberly feeling lost and like she doesn't fit in until Halloween night where she runs into Asterious and he convinces her to follow him into the woods where they are crossing over the open veil to his world which doesn't open until Halloween the following year. While Emberly waits and tries to find a way back home, her current "home" inside Midnight Court becomes more familiar as she meets new people and falls in love with Asterious as she is his long lost mate it turns out. Emberly is also learning that she has special powers that people from other Courts want to take from her. Don't want to give away any spoilers- just check it out!

Midnight Court: Realms of Onyx by Kimberly Rahr is a lovely novel for anyone interested in a multi-POV fantasy romance with fated mates, fae, druids, witches, and humans. The story builds as it goes along revealing world building details over time. The couples in the book are the driving forces behind the majority of the storyline. The relationship between the secondary couple is my personal favorite. There is lots of connection and spice in this novel so if you enjoy that this is for you. So much of the story is shrouded in mystery especially with the cliffhanger so I’m reserving most of my judgement until I read the second book, which I plan to read shortly. There were a few things that are both objective and not that I personally didn’t enjoy. Firstly there were spelling and editing errors that while minor were distracting and took me a moment to understand what was intended or to get back on track with my easy distracting nature. The over use of nicknames is a personal annoyance. The last thing I didn’t enjoy but am reserving judgment until book two is part of the ending; I don’t want to be specific but I don’t understand why it happened the way it did. I look forward to reading book two Crystal Court and learning more about the universe!

This book was very fast paced, and easy to read. The chapters were short, which I loved as it had multi POV's.
The characters were fantastic, I easily connected to all of them.
The writing style was great and very easy to visualize.
The story was full of secrets that got uncovered as the story progressed, but who knows how many more there are!

The Darkness has intrigued me, and I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Author Kimberly Rahr's book one of the Realms of Onyx series, Midnight Court is an a new exciting Paranormal, fated mates, suspense romance. Rahr gives her readers twice the fun with this providing two strong independent FMC that bend the knee for no one not even royalty and two very protective MMC that fall hard first and will do anything to make these women theirs forever, giving this book a unique twist of having 4 POVs! Midnight Court takes the readers on an adventure of mystery, magic, spice (3🌶️), and discovery of truth that has plot twists and a cliffhanger that will leave you on the edge of your seat!

First FMC Emberly, a mere human, who strayed to far from home and unknowing steps into the path of our first MMC Asterius. He's a prince out for a walk on Halloween, in what most would think is a disguise but is actually his real appearance. Something about Asterius enchants Emberly, but her instincts tell her to run. When Emberly gets her opening, she bumps into our second FMC Fleur a wood nymph. Our second MMC Elouan instafalls for Fleur and plans to make her his. Asterius, Elouan and Fleur are all hiding secrets, but Emberly might have the biggest secret of them all and she doesn't even know it. Can Asterius charm Emberly and show her that there is a great fate at play for them? Can El and Fleur trust each other enough to reveal their secrets and work together to discover the secret of a bigger danger that they all once thought was just a childhood rhyme, but is actual a hidden secret that could be their salvation? Will Emberly's secret that she herself didn't even know about, be what saves them all? Check out Midnight Court for a great adventure with these four characters and see where fate takes them.

Midnight Court brings you a short and fast-paced fantastical dive into the first book of the Realms of Onyx series. An outcast girl is plucked from her human world and thrown into the world of the fae - more specifically with the Unseelie Fae of the Midnight Court. Met with others from the Star Court and the Mist Court, she soon discovers she's not somewhere unknown, just somewhere forgotten and she isn't who she thought she was. She has to learn to trust those around her and come into who she is to help save/protect her new life/world from Darkness - a man who plans to take revenge on a world that locked him away after a brutal war waged hundreds of years ago. Some tropes include fated mates, touch her and d!e, found family/friendships. Open door spice, interesting world-building and a story to turn pages for - leaves off on a cliffhanger! It would be a bit nice to have a clearer timeframe of things - however it's not super important and was easy to follow. Very enjoyable read and can't wait for the next book!

Enjoyable story with great world-building and relatable characters. Asterius and Emberley were a work in progress but when dealing with the Seelie and Unseelie courts you know there is drama somewhere in the midst. Emberly's life changed the night she crossed paths with Asterius and was taken between the veil from the mortal realm to that of the Fae realm.

Emberly soon finds herself in a realm that feels like home and once familial secrets are revealed she understands why she feels such a close connection to the Fae realm more than she ever felt in the mortal realm soon her journey takes turn after turn as she learns who she is and her connection to the otherwise strange land.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 RECOMMEND !

Favorite Quote : “I didn’t care, I would gladly take death if it meant Asterius would survive” (Rahr,355).

This is a great fantasy read if you adore fae and magic as much as I do ! I absolutely loved the connection between Asterius and Emberly. Emberly seemed so timid and shy originally but she really came out of her shell having Asterius by her side. Asterius seemed extremely protective with touch her & die energy ( I was all for it ). My favorite scene in the book would have to be Emberly receiving the crown and sharing wedding vows. The last page of the book made my heart STOP, I can’t wait to see what Crystal Court(book 2) has in store !

Uhh. No.
14 pages in and I'm going to stop right there.
The writing is just bad. Really bad.

Well, we were just out on a walk, and we stumbled on you walking. Didn't you hear us walking behind you?" He said while cocking his head to one side. I guess I didn't, I was too much in my thoughts; I must not have heard them walking behind me.

It's not even well enough written to be ironic, sarcastic or any other satirical play upon language.

The beginning of the book immediately hooked me into the story. It follows 4 individuals with different personalities and different backgrounds. All with secrets of their own and one secret may be the end for everyone.

This book has adventure, creatures, fated love and suspense! The book ends in a cliffhanger that will lead you wanting for more. I can’t wait to continue the story.
