Saturday Stories by @rashmibansalofficial is a collection of short stories that takes readers to the days of lockdown and how each one of them had their journey to the stories that celebrates the spirit of life. How in the chaos we found the beauty and Rashmi takes us to such amazing stories.

With a tinge of simplicity and dark humour, the stories will surprise and inspire readers. Each story is beautifully crafted with a gripping plot and descriptive narrative. Right from the title of the story, Rashmi with her words makes readers curious. As the storunfolds, each of them teaches us a lesson, it shows how life is different for each one of us and how we find happiness.

Rashmi’s writing style is candid anbewitching, taking readers on an emotional rollercoaster ride. Her practical approach and the way she adds the element of fun and entertainment in each story is commendable. One could relate to the situations well. The twists she adds in each story are brilliant.

Each story here will make us feel content and more grateful for life. The way she adds small elements of family, realizations, and friendship makes this book more relatable.

The stories are quick and short which at times leaves readers with a feeling of incompleteness. I would have loved it if the stories were a bit more detailed.

Women of Substance, Chal Meri Dhanno, Grapes of Rot, Diamonds are Forever, and Memories of Midnight are a few of my favourite stories from the book. The stories are heartwarming and filled with drama.

It's a good, light read that you can count on if you want to read something intense and beautiful. Rashmi Bansal always charms readers with her writing.

What makes a book a good book?
If it makes you feel good, gives you positive vibes, and helps you to rejuvenate, am I right?

I devoured this book over the weekend and still, some of these characters are living with me. It's hard to forget the refreshing vibe of this book, just like this beautiful cover. It was a pleasant surprise for me, a short book full of beautiful stories.

Only one word is enough to describe this book, exuberance. The Plethora of short stories unfolded in a single cover only to make you smile and hopeful. Yes, hopeful, every story revolves around people who taught you to smile, and cheer up your heart in the midst of turmoil in the world, let me tell you that every story is set on the pandemic, okay so now you want to know how come these stories became hopeful, then you have to read this book.

Rashmi Bansal's subtle fun-filled stories are cleverly executed with wittiness. Her fun is subtle. She infuses hope into every story, deeply inspiring you to smile at every end. I read a lot of atmospheric stories that pulled me into the book but for the first time, this is a book that is capable of changing your surrounding atmosphere if you can read them with your heart. I am telling this because I felt so. The more I read this book the more I am in awe of her writing style.
Stories are here like a wind chime in front of you; they are twinkling, chiming, glistening, and infusing lightness in your heart.

It's a great read from another way also because in a very short and compact frame character development reflects the author's ability, although Rashmi Bansal tells us every story in a playful tone, every character is shining in their own way and capable of making an impact in reader's mind.

This book is quite like a self-help book but there are no anecdotes from the author, it's not sound like learning and never forces you to think rather it will absorbed inside you and your mind will soaked the vibe naturally, so it's an absolutely fun read and can be addressed as a short story collection and refreshing, mindfulness at the same time. It's a great read if you are feeling low or in reading slumps even great for Monday blues.

A very enjoyable short book for weekend reading and relaxing your mind.

Rashmi Bansal debuts into the world of fiction writing with Saturday Stories, a collection of 35 short stories. Covid-19 and its impact on our lives is the underlying theme behind these stories. A few years back, I found inspiration in Bansal’s “Stay Hungry Stay Foolish.” Regrettably, Saturday Stories failed to captivate me and left me wanting for more.

The stories are drawn from everyday life, a few inspired by real-life events, depicting how the invisible virus brought the world to a standstill. Bansal explores not just the dread and despondency, but also human resilience and the desire to survive in the face of all adversities.

However, I didn’t enjoy this book because of many reasons.

I don’t mind the usage of vernacular language as long as it is tastefully done and enhances the narration. However, in this case, the excessive use of Hindi was vexing. Nearly every story incorporates Hindi words, often without adding value. ‘Main Shayar toh Nahin’ is a story in verse format, in Hindi.

Most stories conclude with a twist, but unfortunately, are often predictable or contrived. Thus leaving the readers dissatisfied.

There is nothing refreshing about this collection. The theme of COVID-19, stories of struggle, finding love online, or celebrating birthdays over the net… it’s all done and dusted. Publishing this collection two years ago might have made it more relevant.

Concluding the collection are six stories penned by Bansal’s students. These stories stand out brilliantly amidst an otherwise lackluster collection.

Saturday Stories is a onetime read, and I finished it in a few hours. Pick it up if you are looking for a leisurely read.

The author Rashmi Bansal takes readers on a journey through a series of short stories in "Saturday Stories," with a strong awareness of human emotions and vulnerabilities, that captures the essence of our current society during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The stories in this anthology may appear uncomplicated, but they speak fundamental truths about the human predicament. Although the narratives are written in a simple, approachable manner, the storyline is rich and compelling, keeping readers interested from start to finish. Each tale offers a distinct look into the lives of its protagonists, examining a variety of feelings, circumstances, and viewpoints.

Rashmi Bansal's skill in incorporating satire into these stories makes this a unique work. The stories become unexpectedly more intricate as a result, which increases the reader's interest.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the stories titled 'The Last tribe' , 'Real Medicine' and 'A Woman of Substance'. The author skillfully strikes a balance between the bright and the dark, leaving readers with a sense of both optimism and introspection.

The book's ability to portray the distinctive spirit of the pandemic phase is one of its strongest features. She incorporates a variety of themes and issues to make sure readers can relate to and find relevance in the stories.

In conclusion, "Saturday Stories" is an engaging collection of short stories that showcases Rashmi Bansal's skill as a writer of both fiction and non-fiction. The book can appeal to a wide variety of people since it examines human frailties and features dark humor and modern topics. Reading it is motivating, moving, and enjoyable.

Before Saturday ends, I'd like to introduce my recent read - Saturday Stories by Rashmi Bansal.

I remembered reading her earlier novel and really liking it. So it was without a hesitation that I went ahead with her recent work. Which exactly feels like a Saturday. A day you can be free and relish life. You can laugh and sleep peacefully without the tension of Monday approaching. The stories feel the same, they are fun, they are small, they engage you. But the best part, they are relaxing. You become a part of them without investing much effort.

The stories are a mix of everything. They make you travel to different places, meet different and quirky characters, show you the real essence of how Covid impacted common lives, also highlights the simple joy of living.

There would be a separate post on the stories I loved because there are too many, and they all deserve special attention. But trust me, no story would really disappoint you. It has the touch of practicality.

Things to look out for -

The book also contains pieces of writing by the author's students of writing program. It makes you feel glad that more and more people are working to keep the field of literature thriving.

After every story, the author has shared a QR code providing a personal touch. It'll make you feel that it's less of a book but more of a short reading retreat with the author.

So do read this whenever you want a break from everything complex happening in your life. The book would definitely make you smile.

"Saturday Stories" by Rashmi Bansal is a heartwarming collection of short stories mainly centered around the COVID-19 period. These tales are concise but pack a punch, and they left me with a warm feeling.

What stands out is the simplicity in these stories. They aren't grand or complicated; instead, they focus on everyday people and situations. Reading this book was like finding little nuggets of positivity during a tough time.

These stories are short, making them a perfect read for a weekend or a vacation. They are like a breath of fresh air, reminding us of the goodness that exists in the world even during challenging times.

The stories touch on themes of hope, love, and new beginnings. Some of them are funny, adding a touch of humor to the difficult times we've all faced. Others are touching and might just make you say "aww."

What adds an extra layer of charm to this book is the section at the end, where the author's students, after a writing workshop, share their own stories. It's delightful to see how the author's teaching has inspired others to create their own heartwarming tales.

In a nutshell, I highly recommend "Saturday Stories." It's a collection of tales that highlights the resilience of people and the beauty of ordinary life. It's a reminder that even when things get tough, there's always a place for optimism, kindness, and the strength of the human spirit. This book is a ray of sunshine that we all need in our lives.

The collection of short stories in Rashmi's book Saturday Stories a remarkable read. Rashmi tells stories that are easily lighthearted and accessible. Her writing skillfully immerses you in the experiences and lives of the characters, giving you the impression that you are a member of their universe. Every narrative is a little universe unto itself, with characters you'll swear you've met in real life because of how relatable they are.

Rashmi's engaging storytelling style and the interactive element she infuses into each narrative are what distinguish "Saturday Stories" from other storytelling shows. There's a QR code to be scanned after each short narrative. It's similar like discovering audio nuggets in a treasure chest. These QR codes include information about the origins of the story, its sources of inspiration, and the author's personal writing process. What adds even more specialness to the reading experience is an intimate glimpse into the author's creative process.

Rashmi Bansal's narrative serves as a helpful reminder that the most poignant stories are frequently the most straightforward ones, capturing the essence of what it is to be human.

The author penned these stories during lockdown, which is reflected in her various stories about COVID-19. Starting with the doubts about the vaccines, the author explores the realistic situation that people faced during the lockdown, such as business downturns and the sufferings of migrant workers trying to reach home.

The advantage of such books is that you can experience various genres in one book itself. For example, in one story, you might find yourself reading a filmy love story, while in another, you might explore the topic of racism in an interesting scenario where “White is the new Black.” Hum Aapke Hai Kaun’ shows the excessive expenditures of a big fat Indian wedding. The diverse stories keep you interested, and they are written in a very short and simple manner, so you can read a story or two while taking a little break from your office work or household chores.

Saturday Stories by Rashmi Bansal ( and her writing students too)
.
Venturing into fiction writing, Bansal brings to some 29 little stories of varied tastes. The tales are crisp and have a revealing climax at the end that sums up the entire story sometimes with a twist as well!
.
Some of these stories are set during COVID scenario and most of these deal with different sort of classical views of a situation such that there is a story up to everyone's choice I believe.
.
Any story can be read at any point and the title really suits because the stories do give you the languid feel of a saturday, where you settle in cozy to feel the weekend.
.
The most unique feature is definitely the QR coded voice message from the author after each tale. The stories written by Rashmi s Workshop students deserve laud too!
.
There is fun, some subtle dark humour, some psychology, some vulnerability as well.

This book was so engaging and fun to read! It has 35 short stories that all begin with luring you into their simple settings, only to end with a twist you would never see coming!

The stories are truly set in our world, addressing effects of Covid and giving pop culture references like How I Met Your Mother. And it uses Hinglish the way we all would do - that fits right in and makes it even more relatable. There are also QR codes at the end of most stories which allow you to directly hear from the author. I found that so unique and innovative!

My favourite pick of all the stories has to be 'Grapes of Rot' for its wholesome twist! It's a story of the differing attitudes of a traditional grape farmer and his son who attends the agricultural school, and how they end up interacting with one another.

If you're looking for refreshing, short reads, you should pick this book!

#QOTD: How was your weekend?

#AOTD: It was quite hectic but productive.

Saturday Stories is a written in simple yet profound manner. The stories in the book has been written on the theme of Covid-19, though many books have been written on this theme but I found them refreshing , appealing and also profound in the experience.

The book is a compilation of short stories which are crisp yet refreshing. I found few stories relatable, but while others were full of different dimensions.

The author indeed did beautiful job by jotting down those anecdotes in the book which grab the readers attention from the beginning itself.

The QR code after every book gives the byte of the story in the audible format.
