I thought my days of unraveling mysteries were behind me, but when the Mayor of Picklesquare calls me in the dead of night, I'm plunged into a new enigma that sends chills down my spine.
A murder has tainted the hallowed halls of the Picklesquare Museum of History, and a priceless artifact has vanished without a trace. The chilling detail? The killer used magic, a shapeshifter's spell, to infiltrate the museum.
As Detective Grey Thompson and I delve into the heart of this perplexing case, we discover a world teeming with historic secrets, a cast of eccentric characters harboring their own truths, and whispered tales of an ancient map leading to forgotten treasure.
But what I'm about to uncover isn't just another puzzle to solve. It's a revelation about my own family, a revelation that shakes the very core of who I thought I was.
As we race against time to unmask the shapeshifter and retrieve the stolen artifact, I realize that this case is more dangerous than anything I've encountered before. With each passing moment, the killer slips further through our fingers, and the secrets of Picklesquare create an enchanting labyrinth of deceit.
I must embrace the magic coursing through my veins to solve a case that grows more perilous with each passing moment.
Will I unmask the shapeshifter in time, or will they disappear into the shadows, leaving this historic mystery forever unsolved?

Picklesquare is in trouble again and Charlotte and Detective Grey are on the case! Interesting read with some very dark undertones. I felt more of a connection to the characters in the previous book in the series but it was a good read none-the-less. Some very interesting characters are introduced here and an deeper insight into Charlotte's family history. Worth a peek. I received a free readers copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This was the third book in a series but could be treated as a standalone. I have never read a book by this author and had not read the previous books in this series.
Charlotte is called out of her house at the request of Detective Grey and the mayor of small town of Picklesquare. The detective and Charlotte have worked together to solve a murder in the past. They have a slow burn romance that's basically at the awareness stage. Someone has been murdered, her cat Pearl is acting weird and under the weather, their are rumors of magic and people's not acting like themselves.
I thought at first that the magic was a little far fetched but realized it worked in the story after all. I enjoyed the riddles they had to solve and how the two worked together.
Overall this was a cute story that was fun and entertaining. Thank you for allowing me to read your new book.

I really enjoyed this, so much magic! It was fun trying to unravel the mystery. I’m just a little confused by the detective’s name change. He started out in the first book as Alexander Grey. He told Charlotte to call him by his first name. Second book, back to Detective Grey. This book, still Detective Grey, but now he’s using his mother’s maiden name as a first name and Thompson, his birth last name and father’s last name. He made peace with his father, so that’s no surprise, but the first name change just really bugged me through the whole book. What is the Detective’s actual name?! Other than that, I loved the book.
The Mayor of Picklesquare calls Charlotte in the middle of the night when a murder occurs at the Museum of History and an artifact is stolen. All they know right now is that the killer used a shapeshifter magic spell. Charlotte and Detective Grey Thompson started their investigation. But then it turns personal when she finds out more about her own family history. What does she discover? And will they find the shapeshifter murderer and the stolen artifact before both pass beyond her reach?
Another cozy murder mystery from one of my favorite series. I loved the shapeshifting plotline of this book and the invisible tea party! This can be read as a stand alone but as the twists and turns of the overall arch of the main character develops it is great to read them all in order. I was very happy with the conclusion and am looking forward to the next book in the series. I can't wait to see what supernatural item the author pulls out of her bag of tricks in future installments!.

Picklesquare was buzzing as Charlotte Appleman and Diane Milligan her chef listen to Mayor Cowell's speech at the Independence party . Her cat gets sick and acts weirdly .The Mayor calls her in the middle of the night wanting her help urgently .The Museums keeper Mr. Harris Jobs is murdered .It gets more peculiar as the killer had left a letter for her. There is a lot of mayhem ,magic involved as someone keeps impersonating people at various times. A exciting read to the end. I received this book via booksprouts and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.
We’re back in Picklesquare again! There’s been a murder in the museum and a priceless artifact is missing! Charlotte and Detective Grey are determined to get this one solved! Witches and shapeshifters, magic spells and secrets from the past provide more than enough twists and turns to keep you reading. Can they catch this elusive killer? Can they make Picklesquare safe again? Unique storyline and wonderful characters! Great read!
This is the second book in the series, and the writing has improved. The characters continue to develop and I really enjoy the twists and turns the adventure took.
If you’re looking for a fun read, with a bit of puzzle solving, this is a good way to spend the weekend.

This was yet another interesting mystery in this series that follows Charlotte and her loving cat as they help solve the murder at the museum along with Detective Grey. The story is fast-paced with some interesting twists. I received a free copy of the book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
I really liked this story of a town full of magic. No matter what the people in this book, ancient and current, have they are still looking to have unlimited power. Charlotte and Detective Grey are busy running down the clues and make some unusual discoveries. Murder is solved and treasure found in a most unusual way. Great characters.
What a fun book! I enjoyed the three sisters, Paulina, Gertrude, and Mildred! They kind of reminded me of the three fates. I loved how Charlotte was able to find out about her ancestors and find her cousin Daya! I am looking forward to the next book!

The Mayor calls upon Charlotte to help , her and Detective Grey Thompson investigate when there’s a murder and an artefact that is priceless has gone missing , it’s the third instalment of this brilliant Cosy Mystery series set in Picklesquare , this time in the Museum of History. He knows he can count on her as he knows of her powers and she’s helped him out previously. The perpetrator has used magic of the shape shifting kind to infiltrate the Museum. This a most serious and most dangerous than all her other cases put together and has personal repercussions of her own identity, more secrets and revelations to uncover and she needs to fully embrace the magic coursing through her veins to thwart this one…This is truly a puzzling, rollercoaster ride of clues and misdirection and a little affection. Great! As usual this mighty pen of Alice Stone strikes again with wondrous prose to set the pulses racing as you read this edge of your seat , immersive masterpiece. Bravo ! I read a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary and my own words
I enjoyed this paranormal cozy murder mystery. I felt the story was original and it held my interest. It was a quick read. I like the main characters although I felt Charlotte was a little slow in figuring out the problem with Detective Grey. I am looking forward to their next adventure.
