Ida Duque writes sweary, sweet with heat, romantic comedies and paranormal romantic comedies with a Miami flair. Actually, if she’s being honest, it’s more like loud, crazy Miami-infused romcom with bad words. Her books feature smart sassy women who love life, family and each other while hoping to find true love. Also, there’s kissing…lots of kissing and fun times in the bedroom… without an anatomy lesson.

By day, Ida is a Higher Education professional writing under a pen name, mostly because college students are not impressed by "kissing books," and she still needs them to respect her and listen to her so that she can help them graduate. She loves her students and working on campus and there’s nothing else in the world she’d rather do, but she also loves writing stories and entertaining, not to mention, her muse is very vocal (and significantly less interested in financial aid paperwork.) A pen name seemed like a good compromise. 

A native of a beautiful island in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic, these days Ida lives in South Florida with her husband and two teens, one of whose future plans include becoming “the boss of Miami.” Seriously. Ida’s loving every minute of raising her but will welcome parenting tips on dealing with aspiring dictators. There were no playgroups or social activities in their area for fiercely independent teens who are also interested in political machinations and autocracy. Luckily, the mini dictator has found dance and her plans for takeover are on hold for now; her parents couldn't be happier!

This was such a fun and quick read! I discovered this author on a stuff your kindle day and found out she is dominican like me so naturally I had to read it.

Lucas and Alma’s story was fun and flirty with a pinch of sarcasm, this book made me laugh a lot. When a hurricane hits florida on the same week of Alma and her friends new Inn opening, Lucas was a guest that they forgot to relocate, so Alma stayed with him at the Inn until it was safe to leave, but they got really into each other on those 3 days.

If you are looking for a fresh and quick romcom, you have to read this.

The book is part if a series but it can be read as a standalone.

Alma and Lucas come from similar yet very different worlds. Their paths during an unlikely change of events leading them down an unknown but pleasure filled road.

While the start of the books seemed a little unclear and choppy, it smoothed out and made for an easy read. This couples story is cute and uncomplicated but leaves you feeling good.

.5/5 🌶️ This book has low spice although the insinuation was there. This is the perfect pallet cleanser read or for those who like story lines that have a more wholesome approach to romance.

I thought this book had such a cute storyline. It was a little faster paced than I would have liked, which did seem to cause some fluidity issues but I still enjoyed it. Everything made sense together and for a novella like book, I thought the themes were great. It isn’t often that I read books that have a Latin/Spanish theme/character/language, so I thought that was awesome.

Nice romance

Alma and her friends open up a bed and breakfast in Florida. They had a hurricane about to hit and they evacuated all their guests or so they thought. Since they can't evacuate him Al.a stays at the bed and breakfast with the guest riding out the storm. Then the romance begins. Its quite a charming story how they meet and get to know each other. A very enjoyable read.
