Excellent book about an era of football that was remarkable. Pastorini's injuries were unknown to me as a young Houston Oiler fan. The countless pills, injections, self medication, broken bones, hamstrings...it reads like a MASH unit taking care of an entire regiment, not a single quarterback.

So much fun reading about Bum Philips and learning more about the character he was.

Very interesting book for all fans of the 70s and 80s football. A flawed character, but an honest retelling of his own story, scabs and all.

Kudos to writer who shaped much of the book, John Lopez. Excellent work
