Novella, but wow that got dark! And not rushed! Revenge for trauma that happened a year ago on Dead Devils Night, Rylan has lost everything after that night and has been living a year only for revenge and other were some twists! And what is trippy is that while I do not like gore- I actually wanted a little more. Totally justified, she had every single reason to snap. Please check triggers before opening, but once you do you really have no qualms with what’s done- first was the most gruesome but satisfying….. oh yeah good and dark!

This was just alright for me. It’s super short and follows Rylan as she goes out to seek revenge. It was just missing something for me.
The prologue sets up the catalyst for Rylan going off the rails and it includes a gang rape, so FYI if that is a hard limit for you. The rest is a quick read of a badass getting revenge with a bit of smut.
Bottom Line- It was ok. There’s plenty of action, but it was a tad repetitive, and the characters were a little flat. We’re told and shown them acting crazy, but I never FELT it. It was like they were going through the motions but never really committing emotionally to sell the psycho-ness. If that makes sense. It sort of felt like watching bad actors try to act nutso, so there was this disconnect for me at least.

I absolutely loved and devoured this book. It is inspired by my favorite movie of all time. Written by one of my favorite authors so I knew it was going to be good.
Rylan met Rev and Kai at one of the worst times of her life and built a strong bond. They did everything together until Dead Devil’s night took it all away. She has been through hell and comes back stronger than ever. She is determined to seek revenge for the men and the life she lost.
Rylan becomes an absolute badass out for revenge. A year of plotting a year of planning and it all comes down to one night.
Rev & Kai these twins are 🥵. They cared for Rylan, they protected her until that fateful night that changed everything.
This book was a fast, easy and incredible read filled with vengeance, twists and turns, blood, and spice. I loved this book so much and I highly recommend it!!

The initial story was amazing. But the smut part ruined it. Once was enough. It could have repeated in the end rather than in the middle again.

Okay so first off I would like to say that 3 stars is not bad!
Three stars to me means that I really enjoyed it, but I am not completely OBSESSED.
As an obsessive gorl, I would give every single book 5stars because I love books so easily.
SO, I promise this isn’t a bad review.

Rylan is out for blood after her best friends were tortured and killed last dead devils night. One year prior her best friends twins Kai & Rev and herself were ambushed by 5 men. They tortured all 3 of them and then forces Kai & Rev to watch the SA of Rylan. Believing she was dead she was saved by a man and nurses back to health off the grid. Basically a smutty version of The Purge. Be warned, the story opens with the violent SA of the FMC. It isn't too graphic but it's still pretty detailed in case you may get triggered. Do check the trigger warnings.
Despite the average rating I gave, this novella wasn't bad at all. I enjoyed reading about how the FMC got her revenge on the r*pists and I was NOT expecting the horrifying plot twist in this novella. I just wished there was a bit more that we could have learned about our MMCs and the FMC. I feel like I learned more about the r*pists than our main characters :((
Nevertheless, if you're looking to read about a badass woman on her revenge arc and DETAILED descriptions of how the revenge was executed and her smut with two brothers, here's a book for you!

November 1, 2023This was a quick, MFM novella that reminded me of "Purge" and "I Spit on Your Grave". It’s heavy focused on the assault/revenge trope. I liked the premise but wasn’t too keen on how it was carried out.
It wasn't my cup of tea, but if you like dark romance, you should definitely check it out.

this was like the Mindf*ck series but shorter, why choose (MFM), taboo (MM are twins), and less graphic detailed (imo)! it was so good, i loved every second of it. also the plot twists?!?! oh my god i was not expecting that! a strong fmc does something to me. my only reason for giving it 4 stars is because i wish a certain scene was more intense, otherwise it was perfection.

Maree Rose has to be one of my favorite authors. From how absolutely bat sh*t crazy her characters are (Perfectly crazy and morally dark grey) to how intense the mature scenes are. Her work always has me either giddy or shouting at the pages. 5 stars for story, characters, spice, and overall readability. (And usually the highest on spice I rate has been 4 stars until Maree)

U této recenze si s dovolením rozsvítíme, tahle novela byla totiž opravdu dark! A myslím to vážně, zde rozhodně dbejte na přečtení TW. Kdybych měla knihu k něčemu přirovnat, řekla bych vám, že je to combo filmů The Purge (Očista) a I Spit on Your Grave (Plivu na váš hrob) okořeněné notnou dávkou sexu. Oba filmy jsou brutální, ale já je mám ráda a tento příběh jsem si tudíž taky čtenářsky užila. Byť autorčina inspirace pocházela zcela odjinud, musím říct, že nás Maree solidně protáhla temnotou.
Dead Devil's Night je nocí, kdy neplatí žádné zákony, to se stane osudným hlavní hrdince Rylan a bratrům Kaiovi a Revovi, se kterými žije v ústraní. To, co začalo jako super večer strávený s lidmi, kteří pro ni byli vším, se zvrhlo v jednosměrnou procházku peklem. Rylan pobodají, znásilní a donutí ji dívat se, jak jí berou to jediné, na čem jí kdy záleželo.
Novela jako taková většinou nedává autorovi moc prostoru pro řádný děj nebo rozepisování, často je totiž notnou částí pouze smut v případě dark romancí. Maree Rose se však tohoto úkolu zhostila na výbornou. V balíčku Dead Devil's Night jsem dostala nejen skvělé spicy scény, ale také super zpracovaný příběh bez hluchých míst, kde nic nezůstalo nedořešené. Bylo to drsné? Ano. Bylo to místy až brutální? Ano. A zasloužili si to? Ano! Ano! A ještě jednou ano! Rylan byla jako FMC super badass a já si ji hned oblíbila. Navíc Kai a Rev? Já za tuhle spooky jednohubku tleskám a rozhodně si stojím za tím, že Maree se právem stala jednou z mých vážně oblíbených autorek.

Again I feel like Maree Rose has put all of my favourite things into one book,
Think the purge but with a delicious dose of spicy..
this is a why choose dark romance with added bonus of unliving

But you will not be disappointed!
I couldn’t put it down and I finished it in one night..

Maree Rose has done it again!!! My first read of hers was Hunt Me Darling which was released in August. After having fallen in love with HMD, I have been absolutely obsessed with Maree’s books! Dead Devil’s Night is no different! It is a captivating, fast paced novella and totally worth reading if you love dark romances! Though it’s short, it kept me wanting more with each page! I could not put it down, finishing it in an hour! This novella was not what I was expecting initially but once you get to chapter 4, you’re sitting on the edge of your seat in anticipation. I won’t give away spoilers as to what happens but trust me, this novella is worth the read! Just the spice alone is worth checking it out as it I give a 5/5 for spice!! If you like dark, why choose and taboo romances… please read this!!! Please also check content warnings as there are some that can be triggering for others!

I devoured this yummy little novella! So much that I had to reread each of the spicy scenes because they’re just so good! I mean come on… twins!!! This is the second why choose book with twins and I’m obsessed! Something about brothers confident and comfortable sharing and loving the same girl! Yes please! 🥵🥵 Anyways there’s definitely more than just smut lol Theres a badass FMC Miss Rylan who had a rough life growing up but then has a traumatic situation happen on Dead Devils Night. I fell in love with her too! There’s also loss, hurt, revenge, love and twists and turns! So much happens to keep you on the edge of your seats and wanting more!

Kai and Rev have looked after Rylan since they met in foster care. They have many fond memories, and love each other deeply. Everything was great until that one night. Dead Devil's night. Kai and Rev had to watch Rylan get sexually assaulted whilst they led beaten to death. All of them were left for dead.
This was bloody amazing. I devoured this. There is literally not a single thing I would change 🙏🏼

Rylan, Rev & Kai had such a rough start, and to be able to watch them get their own sort of revenge in the novella was perfection.
The ending, IMO, tied up the story beautifully. The little twist thrown in brought everything together. It was almost poetic, and just a great ending!
I devoured this Novella. It was a fast-paced, great revenge plot, and the spice was just right. The perfect short read, highly recommend!

This 124 page Novella packed a punch!
Dead Devils night, is basically a purge no rules, no laws, unhinged choas let lose upon the streets! A brutual attack, left for dead. But remember to always check, because Revenge is best served brutual as f*ck! And 12 months later Rylan came out guns blazing, no member will be left by the end of this Dead Devils Night... tick tock, your times up!

Maree Rose stays true to form with the release of Dead Devil’s Night. This quick paced novella follows Rylan as she unleashes the ultimate revenge plot against those who stole from her on a night when there are no laws or repercussions.
The writing style is easy to read, and the descriptions allow you to easily visualize the action. The MFM relationship blooms into some pretty steamy scenes that really encapsulate the genre.
There are several TW, so please read them before starting this book to make sure this type of writing is for you.

I absolutely devoured this book! It did not take me long at all to read it because once you start it, you don’t want to put it down! If you like vengeance, spice, and twists then this book is for you! Just when you thought you had the book figured out, it throws you into another twist. I recommend this book to all my book buddies.
If you enjoy a lead female character that kicks some serious booty then this is definitely the read for you. I hope there is a second part to it to see what happens, I don’t want to say too much to spoil it.
This book incorporates a movie into the mix, well reminds me of two. The purge and the crow, a night where you can do anything with no limits

Quickest read!! Less than 24hours and I was done reading. This is a short revenge tale that is best served bloody. There is mention of SA but it is not described.
What would you do to avenge the death of the love/loves of your life? What would you do when you discover that they are not really dead? Follow Ryland and her men Kai and Rev as they take revenge on the men that thought they had killed them and wait for every twist and turn that comes.
