Clementine Clark was loved and cared for by her older brothers who raised her, but they scarcely knew how to make her a lady! When Seattle Socialite, Saylor Sanderson moves to Anchorage, it causes a sensation with The Anchorage Times. Reporter Hank Pendleton interviews her, and Clementine’s brothers take note! Trusting the socialite’s advice, the Clark brothers send Clementine to town, and what follows not only transforms her, but the Spruce Telephone Company, Sheriff’s Department, and First Bank of Alaska! Clementine sets out to prove she can be front-page material too, and in her own quirky and beautiful way.One burning question on everyone's mind...will she become engaged or elected?
Oh wow. I’ve read all the Switchboard series and have enjoyed them, but this one takes the cake (or should I say, pie!). From limericks to sweet, innocent, strong women, and a love so easy and perfect, this is the only book in the series I’ve felt compelled to buy. Way to go, June Marie Saxton!
Loved Clementine's story. Clementine goes on an adventure started by $20 from her brothers reading an article quoting Saylor saying all a lady needs is a full length mirror and a pair of shoes from Ashton's. What an adventure with Saylor helping Clementine get outfitted in ladies clothes and accessories, a new job, a place to stay and continuing to bless her new friend with great clothes and shoes for each event she goes to and matchmaking as well. delightful story.
