A feel-good, laugh-out-loud, packed-with-pictures Tom Gates story! The brand new Tom Gates bestseller from multi-million selling writer and illustrator Liz Pichon. Who wants their FIVE STAR funny story included in Oakfield School's story book? EVERYONE! But what will Tom write about? Inspiration strikes when he looks at his excellent collection of ODD OBJECTS and remembers the funny stories behind each one. Starting with Great Great Aunt Aggie's fake bird hat, the weird stone with a hole and his very special doodle pen. Marcus wants to write about Tom (which is annoying), Amy's got a funny poem and Norman's story is all about... cheese. But Mr Fullerman can only choose the FIVE STAR STORIES - will Tom get his work in on time? And will Granddad read Tom's story and find out what REALLY happened to Aunt Aggie's hat? (Spoiler alert - probably)
L. Pichon says that when she was little, she loved to draw, and her mom said she was very good at making a mess (this is still true today). She kept drawing, went to art school, became a designer and art director at Jive Records, and began to publish children’s books. After its publication in the U.K., The Brilliant World of Tom Gates won several prestigious awards, including the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize, and the Blue Peter Book Award. L. Pichon lives in Brighton, England, with her family.
I loved the book, one of the reasons it’s quite good is because it’s just as funny as the rest of the books in the series. It’s not 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because it has a few different stories involved. Still great book.
I think it is extremely important to keep promoting books like these to young kids. I used to read the translates versions of the Tom Gates books when I was little and I completely understand why my undiagnosed ADHD brain was craving these books! They are so incredibly ADHD friendly :’) Makes me happy 🫶🏽

I really liked this book a lot . I loved the way it was set out in sections of five funny stories and all of the drawings. I am glad tom decided to go with the great aunt aggies bird hat one as that was my favorite one as well. One of my favorite parts was when at the end you actually showed us the book that the kids made with all of their story's and included Florence, Amy, Marcus , and other children from toms class story's to.
The five star stories include five of the best (and funiest) things Tom experienced in his life! from great aunt Aggie's fake bird hat to the very special pen and who could forget the lovely box of chocteezers, he had at the cinema. This was when he accidentally stole buster jones' chocteezers thinking they were his. Also loved when Tom and Derek make up a game where they see how many kids they can get to stare at nothing.
ANOTHER BRILLIANT TOM GATES MASTERPIECE THIS ONE HAS BEEN PROBALY MY FAVOURITE AT THE MOMENT AMAZING AND CAN'T WAIT TO READ MORE A BIG WELL DONE FOR LIZ
